Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Hi Scarlett and thanks for the welcome. Am weighing in at almost 13st and would like to at lose at least a stone and then take it from there; think SW is the way for me, have all the literature but don't plan on attending class as been before and found the lady over it to be uninterested in some of us and overinterested in others - am very much a blend in the background person!

kid · 27/01/2012 13:03

Can someone help me pleaseeeee?!

Today, I was planning an ee day. I've had
B: weetabix (b), milk (a) apple
L: pasta, leeks, onion, peas, philly (synned)
D: I plan a chicken chowmein takeaway.

I don't know if that's ok though. I'm going to switch to red and green days. I'm done with trying to work out ee.

debka · 27/01/2012 14:02

If you stick some more superfree in there kid it should be fine as EE. I'd say have perhaps a salad with your lunch (if it's not too late already), and follow dinner with fruit salad.

I resisted the Shreddies but have eaten a few spoonfuls of the marmalade I made. Oops...

Welcome rising, and best of luck with giving up the fags, my DH is an expert at giving up, he's done it so many times! In all seriousness though, I think giving up smoking is the hardest thing to do, so well done.

risingfromtheashes · 27/01/2012 14:17

Sorry Kid new at this so no advice from me Smile

Thanks Debka, am an expert myself at trying to give up, but this time I am so determined!

grinningbee · 27/01/2012 15:33

Aaaarrrggghh!

Ds just cleared a post I was writing.

Anyway, the upshot was - Welcome to Rising Smile

TSP Hope the feast is going well Envy

Kid Think you'd be best counting today as a green day? How many syns were the Philly? An average portion of chicken chow mein (380g) is only 7 syns on green.

Anyway, he's headbutting the floor now and crying... best sort him out!

Oh, and Cheese we phoned NHS Direct within a few minutes of him being bittem. As he's all up to date we didn't need one, thankfully!

Sending message from my phone as dh has stolen borrowed my laptop.

It was our turn for an incident today.
Dh was driving the car on our way to get dd from school. Group of 9 or 10 boys walking in the road towards us. Dh slowed down but didn't stop. One of the gang came right up to passenger side window (where I was sitting) and started shouting abuse of some kind.
He then opened the back door. It wasn't locked and I think that shocked him as he shut it instantly. Dh did a 3 point turn and the whole gang ran off round the corner. We were only turning round to park up!

It's safe to say, I'd have had a heart attack had I been in the car on my own. I had my camera out ready today to take photos or film them incase they came back to the car but they didn't. They kept looking back at us to check what we were doing I assume but just kept walking.
I am fairly confident that had any of them been walking along by themself, they wouldn't have said boo to a goose!

grinningbee · 27/01/2012 21:02

Bloody hell Kid are you ok?

I'd have needed new underwear. Have a bingo wingy ((hug)) Grin

OP posts:
kid · 27/01/2012 21:19

We're absolutely fine, they tried to intimidate us but DH didn't show any fear. If they didn't move out of the way of the car at the last minute though, DH would have hit them. We weren't going fast enough to actually cause them any damage unfortunately but they chose not to take the chance. What a bunch of cowards though. It was a shame the police weren't about, they usually are. Nevermind, no harm done.

Just makes you sick of the scumbags of today. If I caught my son behaving like that, God help him!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 28/01/2012 07:52

MORNING ALL!

Kid oh that's actually genuinely scary Sad . And, cliche as it is, I actually do blame the parents.

Last night was so much fun! The Witchfinder General was very silly but very cool - can always go for a spot of Vincent Price, even when they are clearly using red posted paint for the blood! - and nothing like as scary as I thought - I think I was confusing it with The Devils, which of course is petrifying. I had forgotten how utterly utterly brilliant The Wicker Man is (no Bee not that TRAVESTY of a remake!). When you see it on the big screen you see so much you would have missed otherwise...

our Chinese feast was LOVELY - thanks for the recipes, Cheese! And I had mochi. And peanut brittle. And pick 'n' mix Blush

So in the true tradition of The Morning After The Day Off I am now desperate to get back on track. I was watching some fat telly the other night (It's on Sky One and called 'Obese - A year to save my life', and is frankly epically entertaining and make me cry every time) and the woman was doing FOUR HOURS of exercise a day despite also working full time as a care home supervisor, and eating 1300 cals a day. This leads me to think that a) there is no need for me to eat my exercise cals and b) if that poor lass at 27 stone can do 4 hours/1300 cals then I can do 1-2 hours and 1200 cals without complaint!

I'm rambling as always. Have a lovely weekend y'all!

kid · 28/01/2012 08:23

Four hours of exercise a day Shock
I can hardly manage 1 hour, 3 times a week! She must be very serious at losing that weight, I do hope she can.

I,m hoping to lose another 2 1/2 stone. I've lost 1 st since I started sw last year but I keep yoyoing up and down the same 3 or 4 lb. I am in control at the moment, so hopefully I can stick with it a bit longer than usual this time.

I've managed to book gym for Thursday, that class is so popular. Couldn't.get any other classes this week so i might just visit the gym section and do my own workout.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 28/01/2012 08:46

Honestly Kid she was just inspirational. She had a little 4 year old boy and her fiance worked away a lot, so for a far amount of time she was a single parent effectively. SHe was getting up at 6, getting the lad dressed and off to her sister (as Child Minder) by 7, then doing 2 hours at the gym, then doing a full day at work managing 3 care homes Shock I have never felt as lazy in my life as I did watching her!

She lost 10.5 stone in a year. It was really lovely to see. Brilliant woman.

Huffpot · 28/01/2012 10:03

Poor you Kid....I would also kill my children if they did anything like that - society is going to pot isn't it?

Welcome to the madness Rising

Wow TSP that's pure dedication. I did 2.5 hours yesterday with walking and swimming and am absolutely bloody knackered and sore still today! Still I balanced it out with naughty food from chippy on the way home as DP rang and our youngest wasn't settling for him so knew I'd cop the job when I got in and then really wouldn't have energy to cook anything Blush

Back on track today and ready to wage war on get those 2 pounds(and hopefully more off at weigh in on Wednesday)

Am staying in today as just seeing how DS1 goes in undies Smile

TheScarlettPimpernel · 28/01/2012 10:07

God Huff well done - I really do need to step up to the plate exercise wise, TBH. I didn't even walk home from work last week Blush

I have just instructed to DH to chart us a long walk for this afternoon - 4 miles at the minimum.

I have actually just weighed myself and appear to have gained 2lb since the Day of Doom Angry Sad

So that's no more Days Off for me, certainly until after I've met my stone target. I am probably a bit water-retentiony owing to looming PMT but that's no sodding excuse. In order to meet my target weight for DoD i have to lose SIX POUNDS NOW! Shock

TheScarlettPimpernel · 28/01/2012 10:08

PS - pardon a stupid question from a non-Mother but what is the significant of your DS1 and undies please?!

pixiestix · 28/01/2012 11:47

Potty training TSP!

God, I'm tired just thinking about exercising at the moment. Having a hellish week all ways round amd just want to sleeeeeeep. Luckily I'm at work for the next two days to thats the next best thing! Grin

pixiestix · 28/01/2012 11:48

so thats the next best thing.

debka · 28/01/2012 13:04

Huffpot good luck with the pants- how old is DS?

TSP your day off sounds heavenly, glad you enjoyed it. We've got the Wicker Man dvd here still in its wrapper (DH has a thing about buying Classic Films and then never ever watching them), perhaps I might actually watch it. Will I need him with me to hide behind hold my hand? BTW stay away from the scales, no point weighing yourself daily, stick to The Plan rest of the week then see how you do on DoD.

The couch to 5k plan is ramping up now- I did 8min running, 5 walking, 8 running last night, tomorrow will be 20 minutes straight running. I can't believe 1- I am doing it, and 2- quite how much I enjoy it. Way better than that poxy yoga business, will give it another go tonight though.

Better go, the big girl is Not Sleeping and the little one is crawling around whinging.

kid · 28/01/2012 18:31

8 minutes running is great. When i tried c25k, I managed a whole 1 minute of running and that nearly killed me!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 28/01/2012 20:55

Deb you MUST watch it! It's fantastic. It's very beautiful, and has some wonderful folk music in it, and is unbelievably bloody creepy. Watch it before someone ruins the end for you! It's not gory and scary in the way of crappity modern horror, but is pretty disturbing. Tell me if you watch it and what you think! Oh and props on the 8 minutes :)

Well, had a good food day today so back on track, except I can literally see my tummy bloat up. Blasted PMT: it can wreck weight loss for nearly a fortnight Sad I am chugging back so much water I am permanently on the loo.

I have planned tomorrow's food - saving cals from a very light lunch so we can have a Sunday night curry!

B - coffee, Belvita
L - miso soup with tofu, steamed rice, green beans
D - chicken curry, wholemeal flatbread, Activia

kid · 28/01/2012 20:56

I was visitng my sister today and we had a very late lunch, but I still managed to stick to plan. Todays food has been:
Green day
B: 2 weetabix (b), semi skimmed milk (a)

L: Batchelors cheese and broccoli pasta n'sauce (made with water and milk (a), no butter)

D: Pasta with a homemade sauce consisting of: mushrooms, garlic cloves, onion, basil, tin of chopped tomatoes, artificial sweetener and creme fraiche which I believe was all free from syns.
I added some tinned ham to DH and DS's dinner but I had mine meat free to keep it a green day.

So, I assume I am entitled to another B choice but don't know what. I have no alpen light bars thanks to DD, I have no nuts (think I used to have brazil nuts as a B choice). Best go and investigate.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2012 21:46

creme fraiche is 14 syns for 100ml I'm afraid kid (I can look up your exact brand if you tell me which it was). You have prob muddled it with fromage frais, the fat free version of which is free.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2012 21:50

I know what happens at the end of wicker man and I have not seen it and have no idea of the rest of the plot!

Food for today:
B gammon, eggs, tinned tomatoes
L apple, banana
D slow cooked casserole steak, shallots, mushrooms, few lentils with cabbage, carrots, mashed root veg and sweetcorn
sugar free jelly (0.5 syns)
toast (heB) and peanut butter (4.5 syns)

SlinkyB · 28/01/2012 22:09

Massive massive post lost in ether thanks to sodding internet conne tion!!! Rrraaaarghhh!!

Night all Angry.

Will endeavor to switch lappy on in am and bore you all fucking senseless post then.

LakeFlyPie · 28/01/2012 22:25

Evening Smile

Your chinese feast sounds delicious TSP.

You've inspired me to have a re-run of The Wicker Man, brilliant film and sooo creepy.

Good luck with the run tomorrow debka. Am so impressed by your progress.
I haven't got any further than still thinking about it Hmm

I'm still feeling very motivated and turned down birthday cake today it looked a bit dry
Not been weighing or measuring HEs though, hope I don't get a nasty surprise on DOD.
I do feel less bloated already after 5 days of much more sensible eating so think things must be going in the right direction.

Had 1/2 an avocado today before I realised they are 13.5 syns each Shock
I've been scoffing my way through mountains of fruit and veg so that's all good.

Had forgotten quite how much I fart when following the plan properly, wonder if it might encourage DS2 to give up the co sleeping and move into his cot

Food today was:

BF: Porridge with cinnamon and banana
L: Red onion and tomato omelette
D: Sausage, bean +lentil casserole
S: Fruit, yog, stewed apple, bloody syn heavy avo
