Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY HA-WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY is it the case that when my hips and arse are ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUS and my boobs merely PLEASINGLY FULL have I lost 1.5 inches off me tits this week and nothing (well maybe half an inch) off my hips? hmmm? Hmmmm? ANyone got any answers?

I will read and catch up on thread when I'm at work....walking both to and from t'office this week (well, such is my intention at any rate) - that's 7 miles in one day

TheScarlettPimpernel · 30/01/2012 07:12

PS that cauli rice is such a good idea! I heart cauliflower, so might give that a go sometime....

Cheeseandbiscuits · 30/01/2012 07:53

I'm Envy tsp. I'd love to lose inches off my 32 G's!

Quick post from IPhone. We had a really lovely weekend but it was very norty food wise. Oh well, time to restart. I'm also full of cold, thanks DD!
We also have no food until this evening!
B: cup of tea!
L: I think I've got enough ingredients to make veg soup
D: SW burger (no roll), portobello mushrooms, salad and a few SW chips.

Right, what did I miss?

grinningbee · 30/01/2012 08:13

Good morning everyone!

First of all - Happy First Birthday to Slinky's DS! Hope your day is fab, and full of mummy's fairy cakes.

TSP No consolation, but my boobs have lost 9 or 10 inches now. Waaaah! It does seem to shift quicker from there on me too for some reason.

Slinky American Werewolf in London is a fantastic film. I love it to bits. It is a little, um, gory, but not in the modern sense. It's properly done. Mind you, to anyone who has seen it - that scene where the muppet show is on the tv in the background still freaks me out! Not giving it away here though. You should also check out The Thing (John Carpenter) and the 1978 version of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers with Donald Sutherland in it. Wonderful, and very creepy!

Can you tell I adore films? Grin

Glad you had a nice time away Cheese and sorry for the sniffle. Just right for going back to work soon (I think). Sad.

Well, we tried to reclaim our bed last night. After just over a month of me sleeping on the sofa, we moved ds into dd's room. OMG. It took them about 2 hours of giggling and all manner to drop off, and then ds woke at 1.50, and didn't go back off until 3.20. Added to that, about 3.30 dd's pooh bear started talking Hmm so I had to go in and remove it (and switch the bloody thing off). I think it's developed a fault (she was the opposite end of the bed to it). Who wants to play bloody hide and seek at that time! I am seriously hoping that tonight will be better.

Anyway. Food for the day:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita dark with 1 tsp marmalade (1/2 syn)
Omelette with cherry tomatoes, fruit and a yogurt
Beef rogan josh with loads of veg, 2 slices hobbit bread (Heb)

Right. Better start thinking about getting dd to playgroup soon.

Cheese I am just impressed at your stats, you glorious bathing beauty you Grin Mine are (or were) 34FF - in December I treated meself to some really spendy Bravissimo affairs and at this rate they're not going to last beyond Easter Sad

Bee I share your tastes in vintage horror Grin American Werewolf is an amazing film. Journeys through Tottenham Court Rd Tube Station have never been the same since!

Am giggling at the nocturnal Winne the Pooh, sorry!!

Right my food for today as follows:

B - Belvita
L - black rice and prawn salad; lots of fruit
D - prawn and pea stew with flatbread; fruit salad and yoggit

I have done my walk to work and do intend to walk home again, though I just had to raid the office First Aid kit for plasters, as my new Fit Flop trainers have made me bleed in 3 separate places

According to Walkit.com, if I walk both ways for work that's 660 calories, which means if I am eating 1200 cals a day, that's a net cal intake of 540 which is obvs very low. However I've had my eye on those weight loss programmes I obsessively watch, and if that lady I mentioned can do 4 hours of exercise plus a hectic job on 1300 a day then I'd've thought I could manage on this....

ANYWAY good luck for the last 48 hours before the DoD, everyone!

debka · 30/01/2012 10:19

Morning all,

bee that sounds grim, how old are your DCs? I put my 2 in together last week (2.10 and 12mo) and they do really well together (sorry!). I hope yours improve...

Am most impressed at the norkage on this thread. I am in a 42J but am rattling around a bit now. I really ought to go to Bravissimo and get properly measured but the nearest is bloody miles away, boo.

TSP If you're managing on your 1300 calories I wouldn't eat any more, they say exercise is an appetite moderator...

I have high hopes for DoD this week, just have to get through today and tomorrow...

pixiestix · 30/01/2012 10:42

Morning all. Stomach bugs all round in our house so should be a good loss for me on Weds! Grin Just going to catch up now.

pixiestix · 30/01/2012 10:47

Bee DDs toys do that sometimes when the batteries are running low Hmm Try Pooh with a new set and it might be salvagable!

grinningbee · 30/01/2012 11:21

I shall try new batteries, thanks Pixie. Boo to the bugs by the way.

Debka my two are very similar in age to yours! Dd is 2.9 (almost 2.10), and ds is 14 mo. I'm hoping a lot of it was down to the novelty for dd, and a new room for ds. Pooh is banned from there tonight! H got all cross (didn't get up though) but honestly, what can you expect on the first night? Hmm.

Can't believe the morning has gone already. Off to pick up dd in a few minutes. Doesn't time fly!

grinningbee · 30/01/2012 12:14

Ok, where are you all?

Off to make the dc some lunch, and lob an omelette together for me. Got a cake to make as well for Mil (birthday tomorrow). I may have to eat a small bit (boo) but I can feed it to ds hopefully!

OP posts:
TheScarlettPimpernel · 30/01/2012 12:37

I'm here - at my desk in a frankly illegally chilly office nursing bleeding feet Hmm

Sorry about the stomach upsets Pix Sad I would rather break a limb than be sick, no word of a lie. Even knowing being sick = weight loss

kid · 30/01/2012 13:02

I'm here, at work and its freezing. I've also got a bad finger so have to try and do touch screen typing with different finger. That might sound easy, but its not.

I think I'm doing okay foodwise today. Roll on DoD, I hope it goes well for me.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 30/01/2012 13:27

rotten innit Kid. Sorry about your poor finger - whassup with it??

I am dreading the DoD. I have tried so hard but I will be absolutely immense with PMT Sad I am more than capable of gaiing 6lb in PMT week so you might actually hear the shriek of anguish as I get on the scales!

grinningbee · 30/01/2012 14:09

Sorry for the poorly feet and poorly fingers Sad

And yes, it's 'orrible being too cold. TSP Pmt is no fun at all, and I tend to retain water too. Arse to it, I say!

I currently feel like running around scratching and yelling ick a lot. Just went to make the cake, opened the caster sugar, and it was running around in the bag... the flour was worse! Ick ick ick ick ick.

Bloody flour mites.

So, now I have thrown everything away and am about to go out and buy more, plus some containers.

Ooooh, I feel all itchy!

OP posts:
risingfromtheashes · 30/01/2012 14:45

Oh yeuch ... didn't even know there was such a thing as flour mites Hmm
Have my first weigh in tomorrow night so will have a starting point to post here on Wednesday. Seem to be constantly hungry these days so need to be really strict with myself and stick to an eating plan. Going to do EE so am currently trying to compile my day's menu for Wednesday, all suggestions gratefully accepted >

kid · 30/01/2012 20:02

I enjoyed the bean lasagne and will be having it again.

I managed to hurt my finger as I was doing a good deed yesterday to install a router to someone's computer. As I pulled the computer out to get to the back, a metal part that wasn't meant to be sticking out went straight into my finger. I didn't scream or cry but there was lots of blood. I keep catching it on everything so an having to constantly replace the plaster. Good job I've got lots.

I managed to avoid birthday cakes at work today. Two separate birthdays and no cake for me. They both looked gorgeous and everyone was saying how lovely they were. One of then was cream and fruit which was really hard to resist butbi managed. I even turned down a glass of wine tonight and have a pint of water instead.

Hope DoD appreciates my hard work!

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/01/2012 20:58

I got a new sports bra the other day, and it was a G cup rather than my usual H, so I've lost weight there too. But at this size I'm quite glad to lose some!

Bleurgh for flour weevils bee.

Rising - I think I forgot to say welcome last week, so welcome! You can see all my menu ideas by looking at my daily food diaries. I mostly do EE.
Speaking of which, food for today...

B baked potato, cottage cheese, melon (poss the weirdest breakfast I've had yet, but it was leftover in fridge)
L Roasted veg (peppers, courgettes, red onions, mushrooms, garlic), wholewheat pasta twists, grated cheese (a choice - am trying to reintroduce a bit of dairy and see how we get on)
D honey and mustard chicken and parsnips (from new all in one book - was nice - 2syns I think), carrots, broccoli, sprouts. Apple.
S toast and lemon curd (heB plus 1 or 2 syns)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 30/01/2012 21:24

Yes I have always been large of nork!

kid · 30/01/2012 21:35

Well done on the size 14 cheese, its always great to be able to get in to the next size down.

Good luck with your weigh in Rising, hope you have had a good week which are reflected on the scales.

I've got work to do, not sure why I'm on MN as the work won't get done on there. I do have the microsoft word open too so I'm on the right track to get the work done.
Opps, got FB open too, could be some time till I finish Grin

LakeFlyPie · 30/01/2012 22:33

Evening (tired) Smile

Poor DS2 has had his 2nd bout of D+V bug this month, started last night and not quite sure if it's completely gone now. He's sleeping, so fingers crossed there'll be no more puking (and also that DS1 doesn't come down with it).
After being up on and off all night, he was rather pathetic today, spiking temps all day and generally being lethargic and miserable which isn't like him at all Sad
The plus side was I didn't manage to eat anything from BF until evening meal so an enforced fast which can't have done any harm.

Thanks for the cauli rice link CSWS, think I've got a food processor stashed away somewhere, might dig it out and give it a go.

Boo to evil flour weevils bee, it's grim finding beasties invading your kitchen.
We had an infestation of biscuit weevil in our previous house which we think originated from a packet of organic weetbix, they literally took over the kitchen and we had to bin all of the dried goods Shock.
I am the queen of kitchen thrift so it was heartbreaking.
Everything is now kept in sealed jars / tins.

I sympathise TSP, the 1st places I lose weight from are my face and boobs (neither of which need to be slimmer).
When I neared target last time my huge arse / hips / thighs resisted for ages, but my body shape suddenly seemed to change and my bottom half almost looked like someone else, i.e. a slim person, it was fabulous Grin

Enjoy your last day of mat leave cheese and congrats on the 14s.

Hi rising, you needn't be hungry on SW, in fact I think I eat more when I sticking to the plan than when I'm not, just loads of the right stuff.
Good luck with your 1st weigh in Smile

Well done on the cake refusal kid very virtuous. I've got work to do too but can't face it after today.
It'll have to wait 'til tomorrow.

Food today was:

BF: FF yog, apple, muesli
D: Veg soup, JP and lentil+ bean leftovers

Have just realised that I haven't had a coffee today which is amazing for someone with such a massive caffeine addiction. Haven't had a hand free to operate the coffee machine, no wonder I've got a headache!

Toying with the idea of an orange or yog before bed and then (DC permitting) a rare early night, really hope it's a quiet one.

kid · 30/01/2012 22:38

Everyone is fast asleep in my house, even the dog!
I've finished my work, just going to print it out if the printer decides to work today.

Can't wait for shopping to come tomorrow, I need healthy food in the house instead of just having to make do with what's here.

I think I'd have a heart attack if I found creepy crawlies in my flour or sugar. Making me itch just thinking about it.
We do have silver fish here, not in our cupboards (as far as I know!)
My dog eats them each night. Its so funny watching him bounce around licking them off the floor. Actually, its pretty gross too. At least the more he eats, the less silver fish there are.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 30/01/2012 22:48

Oh no lake, hope DS gets better soon. Here's hoping he keeps his germs to himself, as well!

bee how's things? How's M? Sorry about the blasted weevils, how annoying. Is Pooh behaving tonight? Hope you get a better nights sleep.

Will post from the PC tomorrow so can write a half decent post and catch up in the weekend gossipSmile

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/01/2012 23:03

Oh yes we get silverfish in the utility and breakfast rooms too kid, and an odd one or two in my bathroom. Yuk.

kid · 30/01/2012 23:05

they are weird little things aren't they. Afaik, its virtually impossible to get rid of them. They don't seem to be doing my dog any harm either so I'll let him continue to eat them.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/01/2012 23:20

Yes it seems that they are virtually indestructible. Although we now use this spray stuff which dh sprays on the floor around the edges of the room, and it kills them for a few weeks afterwards. We just have to keep vacuuming up silver fish corpses each day from by the skirting boards Hmm.
