Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

OMG - I am making a quorn cottage pie and it is Utterly Vile. I like pieces of quorn, but how on earth do people eat this mince stuff? And the onions in it aren't cooked properly because dh didn't put them in the pan on their own first. Oh how I'm looking forward to dinner Hmm.
Lunch wasn't v nice either :(.

debka · 26/01/2012 15:00

Have it with baked beans. Sounds weird but makes a grotty cottage pie a little more bearable. And ketchup. and lots of superfree of course Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 15:04

Grin at grotty pie!

Sympathies, CSWS. Nothing worse than an evening with nothing foodishly nice to look forward to.

I am bleeding starving but I don;t want to eat too early (I have been known to have dinner at 5pm, as my stern old father used to insist!) because that just leaves a great yawning chasm of un-foody evening ahead of me Sad I think I must have the beginnings of PMT cos it always makes me hungry like the wolf

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/01/2012 15:09

I don't need superfree today debka, as I'm having a green day Grin.
But I might just put some beans in, good idea thank you.
(and will prob have some superfree anyway, cause the veg will be nicer than the pie, which will actually already contain at least 1/3 superfree anyway, as it's got carrots, onions, courgettes, mushrooms, celery and butternut squash (topping) in it.)

I almost always eat at 5pm tsp, as we eat with the kids. All my bad snacking comes from long evenings.

debka · 26/01/2012 15:25

cantsleep you are so virtuous. Grin

grinningbee · 26/01/2012 15:37

Afternoon!

Hope the "day out" hasn't been too bad Cheese. Long way to go to sign a form though Sad. Sorry to hear your dh is being a twit.

TSP Mmmmm apple crumbly goodness. Now, I do hope you've allowed for a nice thick crumble top, and some custard or cream... oh god, I'm dribbling!

My food for the day has been/will be thus:

Weetabix and a banana
Omelette with mushrooms, red onion and baby plum tomatoes
Leftover sweet chilli chicken with carrot and swede mash, and red cabbage

Snacks: Apple, banana, yogurt, 2 slices of hobbit bread with dinner

H is allergic to mushrooms so I don't normally have them. This week I thought "sod it" Grin

Quorn mince - I am quite fond of it actually. It's lovely in a chilli, and I really must make a cottage pie with it soon. I love that. Must try the pieces too. I quite fancy making a stir fry with noodles and stuff soon, and some of them in it would be good.

I shall declare myself a runner in the Reach 10 Stone before the Thread Runs Out race. With a mere (ha!) 8.5lb to bring me down to 10st 13.5 it should be doable. Unless anyone happens to leave a large lump of marzipan in my path.

Just pace yourselves on the message posting please WinkGrin.

Nah, seriously though, it would be nice to get there soon.

It's pub night tonight (diet coke only for me). I'm dreading it as the chap from Sunday will be there with his dogs. Should be a barrel of laughs Hmm.

Oh, and I think that the current posting on FB is enormously helpful. Loved last night on there.

Why debka, that's the nicest thing anyone's said to me in a long while Grin.

Bee - the quorn pieces are quite nice in a stir fry. Would also recommend the quorn fajita strips, and someone else at my group recommended the steak strips too. All of those are free.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 17:21

I just had An Incident Shock

Some really hideous rowdy (and also obese, which is relevant!) teen girls didn't pay properly on the bus, and they screeched and screamed and swore at the driver until he turned off the engine and said he was calling the police. Slight over-reaction I felt, but there you go! Anyway they just refused to move and were literally screeching at an ear-splitting pitch, and I was only about a mile from home so got off, and I might slightly definitely have nudged the little buggers purely because they were blocking the way off! Anyway one of them shoved her face right in mine and screamed WHAT YOU FUCKING SHOVING ME FOR and I , surprisingly uncowed given I'm a peaceful sort, snapped "Because you're being a total fucking pain in the arse". Which is true! Anyway by the way they reacted you'd think I'd murdered their entire family before their very eyes. The screeching would've shattered a window. One of them screamed "OH MAH GAAAAD DID YOU SEE HOW FUCKING FAT HER LEGS ARE", so I just gave them The Eye until I was out of sight. The last thing I heard was "OH MY GAAAAD DID YOU SEE HER LOOKING AT US BLOOD!"

Hmm

I don't mind the walk cos I was 45 calories over Grin but honestly, the Hilarity of those girls accusing my legs of being fat. I mean they are, but these girls had like 3 chins each Shock

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 17:28

I do realise that is a total non story Grin

Riapwhatyousow · 26/01/2012 17:59

ah, the youth of today. I see them in embryonic form as pre-teens and you can tell which way it's going. Much respect, scarlett, for your responseGrin 'praps they are unaware of their thighs as they are obscured by chins

how how HOW do you (I) focus on losing one stone at a time and not confront the depressing/daunting/ready-to-give-up fact that there are at least six of the bastards to count???

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 18:27

Like innit pimpy cos who the fuck do you think you are innit. I speak like the teenz too bruv.

Jeez, I hate teenagers like that. You did well, I'm prone to screeching back Smile. I'm the annoying one who tells them off.

I haven't had a poo for 4 days. All this fruit and veg and nothing. Bizarre!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 19:00
Grin

And why do they always pronounce 'like' as 'lark' Confused

Damned nincompoops.

Sorry about the poo sitch Cheese... Um. A handful of gravel on your porridge?!

I have had my apple crumble and it was bloody lovely, even if I did have to have it with Total 0% instead of Birds home made egg custard.

LakeFlyPie · 26/01/2012 19:03

Evening Smile

I can't get on with Quorn mince either CSWS, I'd rather make Cottaging Shepherds or whatever takes your fancy pie made with real animals and put carrot and swede mash on top and go for a red day.

cheese what a PITA coming all the way to (freezing cold) Manchester to sign a form, hope you gave me a wave.
4 days Shock I prescribe All Bran!

Good response to the yoofs TSP, I'm usually a peaceful person but shrieky, sweary teens and litter (and worst of all the 2 combined) make me feel quite murderous Angry

Sorry kid might help if I included the link in my link

Food today:
BF: All bran, banana, sk milk
L: Cous cous, salad, orange
D:Not sure, either something noodley or JP and beans.
S:Fruit, yog, possibly Options if needing chocolate later.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 19:26

I can rarely understand anything they say.

I'm so constipated, urgh. I can't eat any more fruit or veg or im going to implode. Maybe a curry?!

I quite like quorn mince but it needs a lot f flavour added to it. We use it for chilli and that's it.

Aah lake you could have shown me the highlights of Manchester.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 20:45

wontons

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 20:47

cabbage rokls

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 20:49

Ooo OOo thanks Cheese! DH is convening a Household Business Meeting at 9pm to discuss the menu, so I shall add these to the agenda

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 20:51

Ah, the JO magazine. Tell me, do you subscribe?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 21:04

ROFL we are doing the same!!

Yes I doooooo! I love his food. 30min meals is one of my favourite cook books. Shame it tends to be norty.

The cabbage rolls we do are also JO but I can't find the recipe on my phone.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 26/01/2012 21:11

DH has fallen asleep Sad

Meeting postponed until 10am tomorrow morning. Or so my secretary the cat tells me

debka · 26/01/2012 21:14

cheese they look bloody gorgeous, are they fiddly? Do you SW them or enjoy in full fat and sugar drenched glory?

ria I think of the next stone target and then sometimes idly dream of how slim I'll be in a few months time when I've lost the next couple. As someone else said, if you can do 1, you can do them all.

TSP love your non story, we live in the sticks with no buses so I don't have any encounters like that, am quietly Envy

Did my new Yogalates DVD tonight, was flipping hard work, they made it look easy but I had just far too much flesh in the way! Looked a total tit with my legs waving around my earholes but hey, can't have made me any fatter., can it?? Grin

Huffpot · 26/01/2012 21:15

Huge congrats on the weight losses to all!
I think I've got my head straight to go ahead
DP thought I was very weird last night as I started crying at the waterbirth in "One born every minute". I got really emotional as I'd always wanted that experience if I ever had children then touring the delivery wards while pregnant with DS1 I was told it wasn't an option as my BMI was too high and I couldn't have any real choices about how I had my baby
If we're lucky enough to have another I would love to be able to experience that....ok whine over! slinks off to eat a SW Hi-Fi bar

Huffpot · 26/01/2012 21:17

Oh and who do I contact again about the FB group?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/01/2012 21:22

Sad huffpot. I also love OBEM! I was induced blah blah so I would be keen for a 'natural' birth attempt next time. You can PM me.

Grin debka . At least you did the bloody DvD. I do shred about once a week - what a waste of time.

I am doing our meal plan, DH has put his new Frankie Boyle DVd on. It's ruuuddde!

Hedgepig · 26/01/2012 21:30

Cheese it's weird I do find SW constipates me too I think it is the lack of fibre from bread and cereals , drink lots of water it does help.

The good news is that I didn't have to stay to group as I have lost weight there too half a lb more than for our WI yesterday but that is what I expected as i know mt scales weight half a pound lighter than theirs (it was my own forfeit pimp)

Slinky try changing the view of the thread to show pages and it should work better on you tablet

bee I hope the pub is good and you manage to be restrained enough to avoid glassing the bar-steward Angry

I made the macaronni cheese from the magazine this evening and it was pretty yummy
