So whether you have a little or a lot to lose, join me for a weekly weigh in - we could even have a slimmer of the week.

Just add your stats (don't be scared) - but I think it works if you're really honest.

Method: Mainly low fat with a vague eye on carbs

Why: To look better, more energy and get rid of my baby tummy.
I had ds 3 years ago and dd 1 year ago and feel I really should try and get my body back as I feel like a sack of potatoes.
Method: I am doing low calorie and low sugar, exercise using fitness dvd and running when I have child care. Also using MyFitnessPal which is great!

Thanks for the feedback Ditsy - I'm hoping it will be a slightly more sustainable way forward but hope I don't get too frustrated if it goes quite slowly. I'm used to the weight falling off on the Atkins diet but I am trying to remind myself that the reason I don't keep it off is because, long term, I just can't commit to it. I know that it is a change of lifestyle I need, not a crash diet and if it takes 2/3 months then so be it. (As long as it does keep coming off!)

I know I am a week behind but I will work v. v. hard to make up for it :o

I weighed myself this morning and I am pretty much 10 stone :( really want to loose weight before the summer. I don't have loads to loose but I used to suffer from an ED and was very underweight for a number of years, so my metabolism is shockingly bad and my body is sooo stubborn at letting go of extra weight!!

Well results so far everyone - we have lost over 30 pounds together, and our slimmer of the week, unless anyone posts later is VivaLeBeaver with an amazing 5.5lbs. Viva, you win a huge imaginary bar of calorie free chocolate.

Rootie - 1lb is great after 2 days.
Geek - don't worry about going up slightly in 2 days. Everyone's weight fluctuates during the month and from day to day. What's important is that you stay motivated, and keep posting.

If I've got anything wrong just repost what it should be: This could get more complicated as we go along.......oh well keeps me away from the fridge.

Why: To be healthier. To look better in my clothes (most of which don't even fit at the moment: Because I have a posh dinner dance coming up and a lovely frock to wear that will look better if I lose some of the weight.
Method: Cal counting on myfitnesspal.com. Sticking to 3 meals and an evening snack if really hungry/have cals left to have one. Weekly zumba and most weeks a swimming session too.

Method - stick to 1200 calories a day, log everything on MFP, eat less crap and attempt to move more!
Timeframe - how ever long it takes but would like to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs per week.

Method: Basic cutting down/vague calorie counting/keeping an eye on carbs. And exercise -- Shredding, various DVDs, being more active in general.

Wow....a great loss of.............1lb!

Better than gaining if I hadn't started this week, and I know that I don't deserve much more than that. I've eaten well and had a few munchie evenings, and my knee has been giving me some problems so I've not done the Zumba that I would have otherwise done.

Hello lay-dees. Well done on all the weight loss. 2lb off for me which isn't bad considering I had a bit of an iffy first week. It's certainly spurred me on. Currently 10st 6. Am determined to have shifted at least another 3lb by this time next week.

I'm a day late but I've lost 2 lens !!! Currently 8 st nothing :) We are all doing so well. My diet is getting easier to stick to but it's a big change from one big main meal in the evening to three main meals plus two smaller ones. The exercise dvds are a different one every other day and I feel like I will never learn the moves before it all changes Blush and the are the longest twenty minutes of my life.

Glum news here. Replaced the batteries in scales, and as I thought they have been lying. So 11 st 1 it still is. Ha well. I have nearly finished the Christmas biscuits thoughGrin. I have been good on the no cheese front though and excema is improving. Respect and admiration for those working out.

Hi Guys, It is my birthday today. We have been to TGI Fridays, I had a banana milkshake and was not going to have pudding but they bought out a gorgeous chocolate cake with a candle in, dh didnt even ask Grin
So I have done well all week and classing this as my day off, also on the Wine

Mmmm well I was going quite well until today. Am going on holiday tomorrow so next week will be bad. A friend turned up unexpectedly at lunchtime and I have no food in so we went down the pub for lunch. Had a burger and fries but did resist alcohol and pudding.

Have also bought mini eggs for the plane tomorrow along with a low fat sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

Am not expecting next week to be healthy. Lots of skiing but am staying in a catered chalet so no choice over evening meals. Will try and say no to puddings and wine though. Will also try and say no to tartiflette and have salad at lunch. I normally put on a few lbs when I go skiing though. Oh well.

Hi everyone - not been around for couple of days due to works do. Started off well, but ended with me having a few naughty things. Back on track today. Ended up nibbling sll sorts yesyerday. But by being back on here definitely helps. Target for Tuesday is to stay same I think.

1lb a week sounds sensible and achievable to me.
Basically 1/2 stone lighter by Spring is the aim !

If it goes really well I could carry on and make it a stone lighter by summer (end of June) ?

Think I really need to hide the bloody scales! Too much weighing is not a good thing as my weight seems to fluctuate so much. It's quite amazing how I let my emotions rule my head and become hell-bent on self destruction. I KNOW that this is a slow but long term approach to weight loss so why am I beating myself up that I haven't lost half a stone in a week? :(

It is worth noting that 1lb per week = 3500 calorie deficit which is quite a lot. A least that's whatni'm assuring myself.
Having said that I won't be ordering a Keema nan in a hurry again!

Interesting GeekLove - so I'm thinking 1lb a fortnight would still be good progress. You could still lose half a stone by Spring ie 14 weeks = end of April (ish)

I'm hoping I'll have dropped a bit by tomorrow -- my first official weigh-in!

I've been using a calorie counter app on my 'phone and it's really useful to see everything I'm eating written down, and the exercise I'm doing shown as calories burnt.
