So whether you have a little or a lot to lose, join me for a weekly weigh in - we could even have a slimmer of the week.

Just add your stats (don't be scared) - but I think it works if you're really honest.

Method: Mainly low fat with a vague eye on carbs

Hi (I signed in to this as GetOrf, have just amended my MN name slightly).

I weighed myself this morning and I am 11 stone 12, when I weighed myself last Wednesday I was 12 stone 3, so am very pleased to have lost 5lbs!

It hasn't been too difficult, have cut out all the crap and dodgy carbs, eating 3 meals a day, and on alternate days having a protein shake for dinner instead of a meal. So porridge or a smoothie in the morning, soup for lunch, meat and veg or omelette of some description in the evening. Counting it all up on food focus, and is roughly 1100 - 1200 calories on one day, and 600-700 on the alternate day.

Hope I can keep this level of weight loss up, I am really pleased!

Well done Floss & Dora - I've updated the list and added your losses.

I stepped on first thing and really pleased as I've lost 5lbs Smile

Real challenge for me though it is sustain the weight loss for more than a week, as my normal trick is to lose a few pounds really quickly then spend the next year putting the same 5 pounds back on & off. I think it's going to help me posting on here to carry on now.

Why: To be healthier. To look better in my clothes (most of which don't even fit at the moment: Because I have a posh dinner dance coming up and a lovely frock to wear that will look better if I lose some of the weight.
Method: Cal counting on myfitnesspal.com. Sticking to 3 meals and an evening snack if really hungry/have cals left to have one. Weekly zumba and most weeks a swimming session too.

Method - stick to 1200 calories a day, log everything on MFP, eat less crap and attempt to move more!
Timeframe - how ever long it takes but would like to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs per week.

The results are in! Well done GetOrf and Ditsy. My scales are playing up so need to check the batteries but they are telling me 10st10lb which would be 5 lbs. my old mechanical ones say11st. Only 1 lb loss. Still both going the right way. Will check again soon to try and verify. Fingers crossed.

I only weighed myself/joined the thread yesterday so was unsurprised to weigh myself this morning in order to be in line with the Tuesday weigh-ins and find I'm the same as yesterday.

Well done ditsy! Minimammoth ignore the bollocking old mechanical scales and just take the reading on the digital ones, 5lb loss!

When i weighed myself last week I was so shocked at 12 stone 3 I was convinced that my (digital) scales were reading too heavy. DP proved me wrong my putting a 5 kilo dumbell on it - it weighed bang on correctly Sad.

rootie sometimes it happens like that, though it is annoyiong. Hopefully though all the good work you are doing will show next week when you weigh yourself.

I am really pleased with my 5lb loss, but I know I won't be able to maintain a 5lb a week loss, 1lb or 2lb a week is more sustainable apparently.

Just weighed myself for the Tuesday weigh-in and I reckon it was 10st 13 lbs.

  • Probably just luck and a bit of creative visualisation that's got me under 11st since yesterday. But good to think I'm 10 st something again !

I will have to skip the weigh in this time. I started off badly and then had a few good days and then twisted my ankle really badly on Sunday so I've been sitting on my bum comfort eating ever since.

Will definitely rejoin when I can move and control the stuffing of my face with junk.

Omg, I've lost weight! And I only started on Friday.

I was 13stone 1.5 lbs and now I'm 12 stone 11 lbs! Is that 5.5lbs? In 5 days!

I'm not starving myself but am exercising a lot and counting calories on myfitnesspal.

Rootie, I've found before when I've done slimming world that I never lose in the first week. It's like my body lags a week behind. I bet you find you lose more next week but a lb is better than nothing and is in the right direction. Well done.

Wow the weight is falling off all over the place. I don't mind updating the central list, but I'll just do it once a day or every couple of days if busy. It has definitely made me feel more positive about carrying on being good knowing I have to post back on here in a week.

Am liking the Ditzy diet idea ! The do it your way diet, as long as you weigh in on Tuesdays !

AfternoonNap - I think your own blend GI sounds OK. I'm no expert but low GI carbs, protein & avoiding high fat sounds fairly sensible. Might be worth keeping a food diary so you can back track if it isn't working. I'm sure there are people on here who would be able to give a second opinion.
