So whether you have a little or a lot to lose, join me for a weekly weigh in - we could even have a slimmer of the week.

Just add your stats (don't be scared) - but I think it works if you're really honest.

Joining Date: 3rd Jan
Starting weight: 11st 1lb
Target weight: 10st 4lb
Why: Just want to be more comfortable in my clothes that are a bit tight & I'm going to be 40 later this year.
Method: Mainly low fat with a vague eye on carbs

I hope there are some others out there, who are up for a weekly weigh in & some mutual support & tips.

I am getting rather Confused
I know technically you should stick to 1200 calories no less but I have had a very good day.
Breakfast, cornflakes with red milk and a cup of tea with sweeteners
Lunch, Salad with philidelphia light and crisp bakes and ham
Dinner, Jacket potato with a smidgen of flora buttery and loads of salad and more philidelphia.
Loads of water and 30 mins exercise.
Very full up and proud of myself but...
MFP says I am having too little calories and due to the exercise have only had 764. 978 before exercise.
Any advice please? I don't want to eat for the sake of it, I am full up.

Tyson86 · 05/01/2012 19:22

Oh and I had a lot 200g of fresh chicken cooked in olive oil with dinner.

Ditsydotty · 05/01/2012 20:19

Hi Tyson, not sure at all sorry. But if you feel OK and it sounds like you've had plenty to keep you going, then I wouldn't worry about it. Trust your body & instincts. Not familiar with MFP but maybe there's an error with one of the inputs. I'm sure you'll have hungry days when you go over the cals so it will all average out.

Sounds like you've done really well though. I've been really good today again - so gold star for me. Had a sainos be good to yourself choc mousse, they're really good for a sweet treat. Resisted crisps, pic n mix, maltesers today at work. Tomorrow will be a challenge as I tend to reach for a glass of wine or three Friday night, then start picking on whatever is lurking in the fridge / kids treat box.

Thanks Ditsy, you have a point about it averaging out.
Well done to you! I think the sweet cravings are the hardest. :)

A couple of 'ish' days for me.
Doing really well at having a counted breakfast (cereal) and lunch (soup, crackers and lo fat cheese spread, fibre one cereal bar). My evening meals have been good too - spaghetti yesterday and a fab sausage casserole tonight (loads and loads of veg, one pack of sausage, 1000 cals for a massive wok full, 250 cals a portion).

Then the evening comes. And I'm hungry. There are still lots of biscuits and chocolates from Christmas (the kids in my class gave me loads this year) and I've succumbed to a few.

I've come in more or less on my cal target, helped along yesterday by my pretty high impact Zumba hour class.

pigleychez · 05/01/2012 22:35

Thanks for the welcome.

Im not as hardcore as some of you with the calorie counting. I think that would feel much like a chore to me. Im just going to get back to healthy eating, plenty of exercise and stop snacking of bits during the day. That is my major downfall! If theres something nice in the cupboard then I have no willpower to stop! Its been horrendous lately what with the Christmas foods.
Oh and the evening nibbles too!

The weight has really sneaked on for me in the past 6mths or so and I really need to lose it. I never really lost the baby weight with DD1 before I got pregnant with DD2 (21mths apart) so its piled ontop and with having 2 little ones it hasn't given me much time to do much about it.
Now they are 3 and 19mths, I feel I would like abit of my body back now.

Ditsy- The holiday isnt till June but I fear its going to be a long process so giving myself plenty of time. Im never going to look like Kate moss but just dont want mistaken for a beached whale! Our last holiday was our Honeymoon 4.5 years ago (pre-DD's, bikini clad) so really looking forward to it plus it will be the girls first time abroad so they are very excited.

I had a good workout at Zumba tonight. Our instructors are Crazy and work you very hard! After each class in Jan they are also doing an additional 5 minute Ab workout to help everyone with those extra Christmas pounds. It was pretty hard work but no pain no gain as they say! :)

playdead · 05/01/2012 22:47

I did very well for breakfast and lunch but then it all went wrong. I don't think I'll manage any exercise til DC's are back to school (mon) and I usually can't control my eating unless I'm exercising. I will do better tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow Smile

Minimammoth · 05/01/2012 23:05

I'd like to weigh in but have obviously missed Tuesday. My current method is just eat less!. Have an outbreak of excema at the moment so also avoiding wheat and dairy. Naturally I am therefore craving cheese.
All in all am just too bulky.
Stats: 11st 1 ( heaviest ever)
Would like to drop to 9st 7

VivaLeBeaver · 06/01/2012 08:07

Hi, can I join please. Have weighed myself today for the first time in a few months and put on another 7lbs. Feel depressed. I was here in the same boat last year and everyone said don't worry, you'll lose it, etc and I never did. Shit, shit, shit. I'm going on holiday in 10 days as well so will put even more on then.

Joint date. 6th jan
Starting weight. 13 stone 1.5lbs
Target weight 11 stone
Why, none of my clothes fit, I have a fat stomach, think it's making my backache worse.
Method, eating less, MFP, more exercise.

CaterinaSforza · 06/01/2012 15:34

I'm supposed to be starting the exercise part on Monday (just because the planner thing is labelled Monday to Friday with weekends off) and not weigh myself until the thirty days are up but of course I weigh myself every day. How else would I know that I am even heavier already! The diet involves a lot of food for someone as sedentary as me but it is mainly turkey, prawns, eggs so high protein, lowish fat and carbs? There is even takeaway pizza, which might be good as I don't like pizza so will probably stick to the recommended portion size unlike other treats where I get carried away Blush

Is everyone here managing to not check their weight obsessively?

Minimammoth · 06/01/2012 15:54

Caterina, I weigh daily too. I confess I had indian takeaway yesterday and promptly weighed 2 lb more this morning. How how?? hopefully it will melt away before next tuesday's declaration.

2kidsintow · 06/01/2012 16:07

I weigh daily. I can't help it.

CaterinaSforza · 06/01/2012 16:50

Im not the only one then! Craving prawn balchao here and counting the hours until I can order for tonight but will not be happy if it adds another 2 lb by morning! I wonder if I should take the batteries out of the scales until Tuesday.

Minimammoth · 06/01/2012 19:13

I am going to pretend that there are no calories in veg crisps. Surely they are part of your 5 a day

Minimammoth · 06/01/2012 19:15

Oh dear there are509 per helping. I am not being good am I.

2kidsintow · 06/01/2012 20:18

Grin I love veg crisps, but sadly they are not good for a diet. Delish though.
Not the best day here as far as being strict and cal counting - again great breakfast (special K) lunch (sweet chilli chicken and salad sandwich) and dinner (lean pork in chinese sauce, noodles and sweetcorn) but have succumbed to more of the Christmas goodies that are still hanging around.

I remind myself that it is still far better than it would be if I was eating badly for my meals AND snacking which has been the norm on the run up to Christmas, and I'm sure I'm still under my BMR calorie amount so will still lose weight on these 'bad' days - although more slowly.

Tyson86 · 06/01/2012 20:25

I started dieting on wednesday. Just weighed myself and I have lost 5lbs! Grin
But I really want a pizza, I am starving :(

Katiekatiekatekate · 06/01/2012 20:57

Hello! Perfect timing, a couple of days ago I booked my wedding for Tuesday 7th Feb... and then weighed myself Shock. I have (or had, when I weighed myself on Tuesday, I should say) exactly 5 weeks to lose as much weight as possible. It's only a registry office so I don't need to fit into a fancy dress of anything - just want to look a little less piggy on the photos Grin

KatieKatieKateKate
Joining date: 6th Jan
Starting weight:9 st 11lb
Target weight: 8st 7lb.
Why: Never bothered to lose the baby weight and now I'm getting wed!!
Method: Diet chef and as little exercise as possible

Good luck everyone

Ditsydotty · 06/01/2012 21:05

More joiners to our Tuesday weigh day. I am trying to keep away from scales until then, becuase it can be so demotivating if you don't see a load drop off instantly or worse, it goes up when you've been good. I definitely felt loads less bloated this morning, and wore jeans that were definitely too tight on boxing day. My problem though is that I can be really good for about 4 days, then I get too overconfident and undo all the good for the next 3 days, with the result being that I stay exactly the same. Have been good all day today, but the wine is calling me. Might have a long vodka & soda instead - not quite so drinkable. I'll update the list later in case we get any other joiners.

Ditsydotty · 06/01/2012 21:09

Sorry meant to welcome new joiners....

welcome KatieKatiekateKate, VivaLaBeaver and Minimammoth.

Can't think of a better incentive to go for it than a wedding - congratulations Katie. (apart from maybe a trip to the beach with Brad Britt)

OP posts:
Ditsydotty · 06/01/2012 21:10

Brad Pitt (not had that vodka yet)

OP posts:
Minimammoth · 06/01/2012 21:24

Perhaps Brad Britt Is a sort of English version. Where is he?

Ditsydotty · 06/01/2012 22:37

He's not living next door to me unfortunatley.

Had the vodka, and a dog walk following DD's early return from waitressing job so could babysit for littler ones. DH out for curry & beer.

In bedroom now away from more vodka, or wine, & cheese and biccies.
