I WILL lose weight now. Anyone up for doing this with me and having a nice safe threat to bore the pants off everyone share our progress?

OP posts:
Jnice · 21/02/2012 19:25

I worked out the bbc ones were 4pp per pancake before oil for frying or toppings.

Blatherskite · 21/02/2012 19:52

I made my normal ones and worked them out afterwards - 3pp each. I used the fry light stuff for cooking which helped and stuck to free lemon juice with a little sugar and a free banana and a tiny bit of maple syrup.

I went slightly over points so will take a few out of my weeklies.

I was going to try the WW ones but didn't have any skimmed milk. Glad I didn't now

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 21/02/2012 20:25

Erm, I have put down 20PP for "anytime" - might inc a small glass of wine to temper the stress of pancake cooking, several a taster of the pancakes before everyone else with aerosol cream, then 1 Jamie's pancake (3PP) with golden syrup (0PP) and one Good Food one (4PP) plus stewed apple and half fat creme fraiche (dollop of Blush), I think that covers it. I feel very happily full Grin

Can I recommend this no stir oven baked risotto @ 10PP per portion. Absolutely delicious!

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 21/02/2012 20:27

I think that's only 16PP Grin

Blatherskite · 21/02/2012 21:33

That looks lovely Ben. I'll add it to my recipes to try pile.

I quite fancy trying this I've worked it out to be 5pp per portion plus another 6-ish for the pasta and the salsa is free so 11pp in total. DD is picky about food, especially meat but she ate pork at SIL's the other day after it had been slow cooked and loves pasta so I'm giving this a go.

Blatherskite · 22/02/2012 12:54

I just put all the ingredients of that Risotto into the recipe builder and got 12 points rather than 10 Confused I even left out the optional wine!

I'm wondering whether you could replace the butter with low fat spread to bring them down a bit though

Jnice · 22/02/2012 13:35

Hi all, a quick question, I did a web search on cadburys cream eggs as it didn't come up in the database. Are they really 6pp? Seems a lot
Sad

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/02/2012 13:56

I didn't use bacon Blathers. I halved the recipe as only 2 adults and used 1 chicken breast. I did use the wine. I may have pointed it wrong still but I think that the chicken is lots less points. I didn't put any butter in, just a bit of oil to cook the onions in.

Jnice there are some things that are a horrendous number of points. How can a tiny innocent custard tart be 6PP Sad

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/02/2012 14:02

[[http://milly2306.moonfruit.com/#/chocolate/4550023411 This great site says the creme egg is 5PP Grin

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/02/2012 14:02

bum

this site

Blatherskite · 22/02/2012 14:31

I can believe they're 6 points each! It's a good couple of tablespoons of pure sugar.

Pity they're so nice Sad

Jnice · 22/02/2012 18:21

5pp is more acceptable. The trick is only ever buy one, don't get more for another day because its impossible to stop Blush

fatsatsuma · 22/02/2012 19:00

The WW app says creme eggs are 5pp. They were always a treat of mine with the old points as only 3 old points.

fatsatsuma · 22/02/2012 19:03

In fact, I wish there was a creme egg in the house now, as I've eaten 3 decent meals today and have managed to have 8 pp's left Shock

Blatherskite · 22/02/2012 20:32

I've only got 2 left. I could really do with a treat too Sad

fatsatsuma · 23/02/2012 19:06

I only have 2 left tonight and am seriously craving chocolate Sad
I had a stir fry tonight which I thought would be 0pp. Realized it had edamame beans which were v nice but made it 4 pp Shock
That would never have happened in the old days...

Blatherskite · 26/02/2012 14:41

How is everyone doing? I'm not sure I'm going to have lost anything this week. Bloody tonsillitis has had me comfort eating again Sad

Lozislovely · 26/02/2012 21:34

Well lost 2lbs this week, was hoping for more as 1st week of really trying, but it's a start at least.

If I can do 2lbs a week I'll be where i want to be when I go to America at the end of June. The ring doughnut I ate today probably hasn't helped thoWink

KenDoddsDadsDog · 26/02/2012 22:54

I have gone right of the rails as its my birthday today. Saw Olly Murs Friday and had buckets of gin. Ate pretty much what I wanted yesterday but no junk. Today had 3 course Sunday lunch and then hotel chocolat stuff. Whoops!
Back on it tomorrow!
Well done everyone else

Blatherskite · 27/02/2012 08:28

WI day
Loss this week - 1.6lbs
Total loss - 13.6lbs - which means I got my 10% star today too
Current weight - 8st 8.4
8.4lbs left to go and a month to do it, not sure it's do-able any more as it's taken me 2 months to lose 13.6lbs and it's only going to get harder now Sad

Need to shift another 0.4lbs by Wednesday and I'll have reached my mini goal of losing a whole stone before March at least :)

GravityDefier · 27/02/2012 11:22

Well done everyone!

Blatherskite, how long did the 13.6 pounds take you?

I am still weak. I think maybe just doing it online isn't my thing and I should go to the group for a few months. It feels like a waste of money as I have all the materials but I am just not doing well all alone without support.

Blatherskite · 27/02/2012 12:54

2 months Gravity. I've got 1 month left of my 3 month original sign up. If I keep losing at the same rate, I'll lose 6.8lbs which isn't quite enough and I'm more likely to slow down that speed up as I get so close to goal.

Need to be better so I can start exercising again.

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 27/02/2012 18:32

A stay the same this week :(

On the other hand I am doing 30 mins to my top capacity on the exercise bike so lots of sweating and muscle being built. It is doing my pulmonary stamina much good so that is what I am really worried about after lung surgery in September that has taken me a long time to recover from.

I'm craving food all the time though. I used some activity points and weeklies last week and didn't lose so going to try to stick to the 26 - except for Friday which is my birthday and we're going for a curry.

Some good losses this week :) Think you're definitely going to beat me Blatherskite Grin

Lozislovely · 27/02/2012 21:38

Gravity - keep going you can do it!!! I started online in October, lost 5lbs and put 10lbs on up until a week ago. Don't have time to go to meetings but finding this group has helped me. I only need to look at what everyone else is doing to get my inspiration.

So I've only lost 2lbs so far but I have the determination to keep going but only because I know that if I don't do it I'm letting myself down.

It took me until a week ago to realise that I'd been kidding myself about what I'm eating. It's bloody hard going but the thought that I could be a stone lighter in 7 weeks (assuming a loss of 2lb a week) is giving me the means to try.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained Smile

5inthebed · 28/02/2012 18:08

I'm back (2nd time round). Have had a horrific 4 weeks off, DS3 got chicken pox, MIL moved from a 3 bed house to sheltered accom, have had awful flu just seeing the end of it now, and other ranom crap. Have managed to not put any weight on, which is short of a miracle the amount of take aways we have been living off.

Struggled a bit last night as used to having a few biccies with a cuppa (instant pick me up) but my own fault as had too many points for dinner so had a small tea.

Anway, day 2 for me now, managing fine. Have had a hearty tea of quorn sausages, jacket pot with cheese and a mountain of broccoli and cauliflower. Still have 7 points left for the day, might have a spoonful of B&J ice cream later, but I feel stuffed so maybe not. How may points do you reckon are in the whole tub HmmGrin

Has anyone tried the McCains jacket pots yet? I think they are ok, only 6 points as well and more than filling.

Also, had the weight watchers chicken and butternut curry pot today for dinner, it was rather delicious. 6PP as well.

Can I ask, how are people allocating their points throughout the day? I tend to use 2-3 for breakfast, 10 or less for dinner and the rest for tea.
