I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

If you are not fit at all you'll be ok for a few days without weighs but I think they are important. Just done day 6 level 2. I've got muscley abs again so v happy!

Also lost 3 lb of my 7 put on over Xmas Grin

I think it's a fab regime as my running has def improved

I'm starting shred again today/tomorrow and going to try do it everyday.
I've started it before but the dvd player broke on day 6, but santa brought a new one.
I'm trying to convince DH to try it with me Grin

Also, tempted to try couch to 5k as well. Although i've got sinusitis at the moment so don't feel like doing anything :(

wem · 01/01/2012 15:31

Checking in with day one completed :) Quite surprised at myself that I've started on 1st Jan on the dot. Fairly motivated by changing into my 'comfy' jeans and finding them not so comfy, eesh.

moonface73 · 01/01/2012 16:49

Lol@damndedoubtance! Also, why is she so nice to Natalie and pretty much ignores the other one?

I managed pretty much the thirty days before holiday last year and really noticed a massive difference with my running and also re toning up, going to start tomorrow as too sleepy today! I never know tho, are you meant to do thirty days straight?

Corriewatcher · 01/01/2012 21:03

Just checking in as did day 2 of Level 1 today. Went running yesterday instead of Shred, and planning to run 3 times per week and Shred on other days. I'd also like to know if you're supposed to do it 30 days after another....Best of luck everybody!

putyourhatonsweetie · 02/01/2012 02:46

level 1 day 1 done, and started this morning with a decent walk and a smoothie.

I assumed you needed to do 30 days straight...what does everyone else think??

bigTillyMint · 02/01/2012 11:09

Hi shredders, I have decided to take the plunge and use the DVD I bought ages ago!

Just done day 1 - agonyBlush

It does get easier, doesn't it?

ln1981 · 02/01/2012 12:28

are latecomers allowed?
I started this at various points last year but never actually completed all 30days! Xmas Blush

but im committed this time. im going to start today, if i get the chance. have started doing c25k again (today will be my first run in about 5months) so am hoping these will combine well to tone myself up.

duvet · 02/01/2012 13:11

I started 3 weeks ago, just started level 3 one day, was struggling with the planks! But I want to do do them!! No weight to lose just want to tone up my jelly belly, not sure if that's poss tho! Keep up the good work everyone.

partytights · 02/01/2012 15:18

First day. It is a reasonable belief that Jillian wants to kill me.

I can't do push ups. Cried when I exercised in a gym bra so I could actually see me flabbing it up and working on it for motivation. Signing up to a fym tomorrow too.

Can I do the shred every day on level 1 for results or do I need to level up every week?

partytights · 02/01/2012 15:18

A fym? No, a gym

pregnantpause · 02/01/2012 15:31

Big tilly- if your like me it will be worse Tomorrow. I was really stiff and in pain yesterday, i persevered and unbelievably today Im fine, well a bit achy but Im fitter and stronger after three days (all at level one albeit)

Did day 1 level 1 of the shred yesterday and my legs are really sore today. Going to do day 2 level 1 tonight and hopefully will be able to walk tomorrow :)

Started a sensible eating regime today as well and I'm hoping to lose the 7lbs I put on over xmas by stuffing my face with chocolate.

Tomorrow at work will be the real test because I know there is half a box of celebrations sitting next to my desk which will be a challenge to avoid!

wem · 02/01/2012 17:39

Day 2 done. I'd forgotten it gets harder before it gets easier. Ouch. Think (hope) it's only the first couple of days though.

I'm resisting the urge to weigh myself or try on my dress as I'll only get fed up at the lack of instant changes :). I'll give it a week I think.

bigTillyMint · 02/01/2012 19:02

PregnantPause Oh dear, I don't know how I will get my legs to do those lunges againShock
I reckon it's going to be a week before I can do level 1 at the "easy" level.

And I CANNOT do proper press-ups at all, much to my DC's dismay - DS said I was doing them like a girl (I didn't point out that I am a girl as DD can do them with claps inbetweenAngry)

nomoremagnolia · 02/01/2012 19:12

Can I sign in too? Have ordered the DVD and will start as soon as it arrives. Got rather a lot of post-baby weight to shift and am hoping that signing in with you guys will keep me motivated

Checking back in, welcome all who have joined and are now experiencing lots of fear leaving the body!

Unfortunately after getting off to a reasonable start for three days have had three days off thanks to tummy bug that wiped us all out for new year. Hoping to get back into shred tomorrow. Suppose it has probably helped me shift a few pounds but not very pleasant!

cartblanche · 02/01/2012 20:29

earlyonemorning did you actually crack a bone DOING the Shred? Bit worrying if you did! I did about 10 days last New Year's and had to stop doing the star jumps because I wrenched both my knees - may attempt another go at it but definitely WON"T be doing star jumps. I definitely noticed an improvement in my overall strength and in my abs (although not very visible because of the fat!) so it's worth doing but my tip is listen to your body - we're all different and have different areas of weakness and strength and DEFINITELY do a bit more of a stretch out at the end.

buggyRunner · 02/01/2012 20:31

I've had today off as I've done a 3 milk walk pushing a double buggy. Plus I'm going to shred tomorrow and as I'm visiting Dm I'm going to get her to look after the dd's (2.5 yrs and 5 months ) while I go for a run.

Feel bad not doing it today but I had a grumpy toddler today so she wouldn't let me do it Angry

ShredHead wannabe signing in here. I did about 25 days worth of levels1 and 2 before Christmas 2010. The results were amazing though I also feel like Jillian is personally trying to kill me. I managed a few sessions in January 2011 and had to stop when I got pregnant. In fact my observant friends and family guessed I was pregnant because I stopped Shredding and eating sensibly and started going to bed at 8pm every evening and scoffing crisps ( don't normally like crisps!). So, my baby boy is now 10 weeks old, Christmas has been and gone so Im really looking forward to starting again. Will level one shred-lite though for a while as I am cautious about the effects of the high mpact cardio on my knees and ankles.

gamerwidow · 02/01/2012 20:42

Just done day 2 level 1 and although my calves are still hurting from yesterday my legs don't feel anywhere near as wobbly as they did yesterday.
Just hope they feel OK tomorrow because I've got a big hill to push the buggy up to get to the childminders :)

putyourhatonsweetie · 02/01/2012 21:46

level 1 day 2 done, ache? of course! hate her? check. must keep on it though because the sight of my tummy flab hanging down when I do push ups is obscene. Keep it up everyone Smile
