I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

Just did day 1 level 1, am combining with 30mins of Pilates after and using myfitnesspal to monitor food intake. I am very shaky but proud. Have at least a stone and a half to shift probably closer to two as am 11st3 and should be around 9 for my height (5'4) Sad
Glad others are in the same boat though! Grin

jen127 · 05/01/2012 14:44

What do you do if you are too sore to do the next days exercise ? As in L1 D2 ........

bigTillyMint · 05/01/2012 16:42

jen I was, but I did it anyway - it was torture (though got a weeny bit better as I started moving), but now on Day 4 and my legs are on their way back to normal. I hopeSmile

I recon it can't be more than 200 cal as I know 20mins on the treadmill would be about that Sad

Livingwiththefamished · 05/01/2012 16:46

Do you have to do it every single day? What happens if you miss a day? And why am I not a size 8 yet?

Picklepoff · 05/01/2012 16:47

Urgh on myfitnesspal under general circuit training it came up with 13 cals for me. I refused to believe this though so looked online and saw roughly 150 so have now up mine as 120...
Been feeling a bit rough and super busy today but still aiming to shred later. Actually quite nice having joined this thread I feel pressure to get on with it. Ate a few chocs today too so really no excuse.

duvet · 05/01/2012 16:50

Day 4 of L3 done, still cant do all the planks and I do them more slowly than they do - I do about half and then do the easier version. Think I'm slower with the leg raisers plank thing but at least I'm doing them right?

Also really struggling with the scissors I have to keep having a 3 second rest can after every 4 or 5 even on the easier version, keep me encouraged who else varies?
The end is in sight Center parcs on monday which is my goal, have toned but I can still see my belly skin hanging a little when I'm doing the planks :-( ah well feel better for it and hoping photos will show the difference.

bigTillyMint · 05/01/2012 16:51

Living, I dunno, but I'm going to try to do at least every day this week.

I will never see size 8 again - I left it in my early 20's (I looked like a half-dead skeleton in photo'sGrin)

franke · 05/01/2012 17:12

Thanks bigTillyMint - I'll have a go with a cushion. I've got dodgy knees too.

Day 4 Level 1 done after 1 day off to try to mend my sprained calves.
Did much more stretches at the end so hopefully this will prevent anymore injuries. I also think I've been landing too much on my toes when doing the cardio so am trying to land more on the balls of my feet and this seems to have reduced the shock to my calves.

serotoninbutterfly · 05/01/2012 23:43

Tomorrow is going to suck, I really ache already, especially in my thighs and bum! My arms aren't too bad though Grin

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2012 07:30

Serotonin it does get easier - just done day 5 level 1 and I am almost not stiff Smile

I need to master the sucking my tummy in all the time as I do it. There's alot to suck in Smile

Chesterado · 06/01/2012 07:36

Belatedly adding that I managed day six of level one last night. It's starting to get a bit repetitive now! Contemplating a go at level two over the weekend as need max impact to get in lbd for big do next week. Have lost a few pounds but it willl be a challenge to maintain healthy diet over the weekend though!

serotoninbutterfly · 06/01/2012 07:39

I must say I am slightly disappointed that my abs don't ache... That's my main target area! Am going to go for a wall with DS this morning, to try and loosen me up for the workout at lunchtime. Although it's bloody cold out there! Grrrrr.

On a different note, I did not realise that there were quite so many calories in a part-baked baguette! Was feeling smug that I had an uber healthy lunch of homemade roast veg soup and a lush warm crusty baguette... That baguette was 370 calories! Grin

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2012 08:13

Yes, I am always surprised at how calorific baguette is compared to normal wholemeal or whatever. Does it have extra oil or something in it?

My abs aren't aching either - I am wondering if I am not doing that bit right - will have to get DD to watch and tell me as she is the expert!

serotoninbutterfly · 06/01/2012 08:41

I don't want anyone to watch my jelly belly bouncin around Sad

I do feel better for doing one day though!Grin

putyourhatonsweetie · 06/01/2012 11:51

l1 day 6 done...if it weren't for the press ups and the anterior raise/ bastard side lunge I'd be moving up, but feel like I should properly crack those before progressing. i now love and hate her in equal measure which is significant progress from day 1. keep it up everyone

serotoninbutterfly · 06/01/2012 12:08

Level 1 day 2 completed. Felt easier today despite the tight and achey muscles!

Is anyone doing any specific diets with this?

Chesterado · 06/01/2012 12:56

It's the press ups and anterior lunges raises that get me too. Have just bought lighter weights hoping that might help. Prob not the right approach.

I can't do hard core diets so am following rosemary conleys gi jeans diet as I know I can stick to it for a couple of months and dh can just about eat most of it too. He is incidentally one of these people with a ludicrous metabolism who can eat and drink anything without gaining weight. And as mentioned before can do fifty proper press ups at the drop of a hat despite not having done any in years. Totally unfair hope dd gets more of his genes than mine !

putyourhatonsweetie · 06/01/2012 13:03

no special diet here, just good old fashioned eating less and exercising more. am logging on myfitnesspal though because i have a serious portion control problem

buggyRunner · 06/01/2012 13:29

Not done mine yet- going to do it with dp tonight- he will probably breeze it though. I'm trying to do slimming world but by 3pm im off the wagon! Grin to be fair ive near enough shed all the Xmas weight (or should that be I've near enough shred all the weight Grin)

ssmile · 06/01/2012 14:52

Hi can I join too. ordered dvd couple days ago so hope arrives sat. also like gi jeans diet approach. DD2 is 19wks old today so no more excuses of waiting for Csection to heal I have couple stone to lose :( DH has put me to shame this wk with no drinking&making his own tuna brown roll lunch he is doing a month of healthy.

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2012 15:16

No diet here - I am concentrating on the shred, but maybe I should start????

Does anyone know how you move from lady press-ups to the real ones?Smile

notveryinventive · 06/01/2012 15:42

Ive just ordered this today from play, cant wait now Grin

Im on Food focus and just logging EVERYTHING I eat or drink and calories burned during exercise so thats my diet. Im not cutting everything out at once, but I am doing a bit at a time and not doing very well

Someone up the thread said to unestimate calories in food and overestimate calories burned exercising, surely its the other way round is it not? If you underestimate food and overestimate exercise then you will think you have another x amount of calories so will have that chocolate or something when in actual fact you wont. So surely its better to overestimate food and underestimate exercise isnt it?

serotoninbutterfly · 06/01/2012 15:52

I think the point was that we tend to overestimate burn and underestimate consumption, rather than a suggestion Grin I think I am going to do a couple of weeks of this then move onto the 6 week 6 pack one too!
