I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

What weights are you meant to use with the shred?

buggyRunner · 29/12/2011 17:36

Hi just done day 4 level 2- not gone on a run as the weather is awful- did take dd1 swimming though Grin

Ps I've started doing the shred in my undies for extra motivation plus I can see what my body is doing!

I ordered it off play on boxing day,am expecting it's arrival tomorrow.

will be watching and joining in on this thread as will need motivation.Never had a problem with weight but since my thyroid decided to not work properly any more am struggling.

I heard about the shred on here, will I be wilting in pain with it as am really keen???

DH is off to america on business next week so will be doing this along with my own eating plan for the 3 weeks he is out there,do you think I will see results upon his return, not that I am doing it for him,for me and me alone but would be great incentive if he came back and went wow

DamnDeDoubtance · 29/12/2011 19:39

Do loads more stretches at the end then you will be fine.

I use 1 and a half kilo weights.

Meglet · 29/12/2011 19:43

Just going to do mine now. I'm mixing up the levels iotherwise I get bored. Will do level 3 today and I have ankle weights. I still need to get small handweights.

Pizza is ready to go in the oven as soon as I've finished.

DamnDeDoubtance · 29/12/2011 20:25

Grin Meglet...I like the cut of your gib!

I rotate between 2 and 3.

Don't forget, Its you time baby...make...the...most of it.

Thetallestsunflower · 29/12/2011 20:58

I bought this in August but have kept putting it off lol. Am going to start it on Jan 1st too.

jen127 · 29/12/2011 21:09

Where is the best place to get the weights ? I am in Ireland so global suggestions would be best

Canella · 29/12/2011 21:18

Can i join too - i'm going skiing (if there's any fecking snow) next week but will be cracking on with it from the 9th of Jan. I love how it is just 30 mins. Am also using Myfitnesspal so hope I can lose a stone.
Agree with the good idea from the PP of doing it in underwear - great motivation.

Chesterado · 29/12/2011 21:40

Well I've just managed day two. Felt harder today as everything is already aching. Think I need smaller weights as only have 3kg ones from per any hardcore fitness days and can barely lift them. John Lewis good for online shopping if you spend enough to get the free delivery. Ps def think you will see results in three weeks I only managed two last time and felt so much better!

Chesterado · 29/12/2011 21:41

Per any = pre baby!

lollipoppet · 29/12/2011 21:49

Can anyone shred some light on the format? (see what I did there!Grin )
What is this day x, level x business, how do you do it??

MetalSian · 29/12/2011 21:53

I will be starting the SHred again soon.
I got to Level 2 Day 3 or 4 last time.

I am hoping to combine it with C25K.
Need to get some proper weights this time though... last time I had two baked bean tins in a sock!

mamalovesmojitos · 29/12/2011 22:02

Jen I bought weights in lifestyle sports. Thing big tescos have them too.

I just bought this DVD. Am so unfit so am wondering if I should build up strength with some low-impact exercising first.

Chesterado · 29/12/2011 22:11

Lollipoppet There are three levels that you do for ten days each and it gets harder as you progress!

jen127 · 30/12/2011 11:14

mama What weights should we start with 2Kg ??? Sorry for the inane questions! Stuffing my face with the xmas leftovers in anticipation of the DVD arriving .....

buggyRunner · 30/12/2011 11:28

My weights are the bars I usually put discs on for my dumbels- think they weigh 2-3 lb I'll weigh them later!

Day 5 level 2 done! Blush that is a hot and knackered emotion

Corriewatcher · 30/12/2011 19:08

Would like to join you all too, for motivation and encouragement. Intend to alternate between running and Shred. Did it last Spring and found it really produced results, but somehow real life got in the way! This time, I've treated myself to some proper 1.5kg weights instead of using baked bean tins.

pregnantpause · 31/12/2011 07:46

Day one level one and My legs are already a bit shaky, dreading tomorrow. My dh did it with me though, it was worth it just to see him struggle! Mwhaha!

buggyRunner · 31/12/2011 11:41

Good stuff pregnantp my dp said it looks too much like hard work (he's a marathon runner Hmm)

I did a 6.5 k run today and felt really strong!

OP posts:
partytights · 01/01/2012 00:53

I downloaded it a while ago but I've not used it yet. I'm going to start it tomorrow as much as I can with a very bruised little toe and eat a healthy diet of 1400 calories. I hope to see results.

MorrisZapp · 01/01/2012 01:04

Me! I'm a shred newbie! Dvd should arrive in a few days. Do I need a mat or would a towel be ok for floor work? Have carpeted floors.

As a newbie, is it ok to start without weights, or are they a must?

partytights · 01/01/2012 01:30

Any success stories of the shred?

putyourhatonsweetie · 01/01/2012 03:31

well done to those of you who have got an early start on the new year resolutions.

please can i join? Having lost all my baby weight for dc2 really easily I've had a rough few months and put it all on again and then some. grrrr. plan is to combine shred, a bit of running and myfitnesspal. plenty to lose (around 20kg in an ideal world but 10 would be a fabulous start)

yep to buggyrunner I also do home exercise in my undies so I can scare myself straight!
