I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

I too started Day 1 L1 last night! I found it good but not too difficult, I'm still going to do the 10 days before I move up though. The hardest bit I found was the side lunges with the weights (I can't remember the proper name) - ouch!

I'm combining it with low carbs and I'm hoping to start running a bit as well when the weather improves, with the aim of being bikini ready by mid may when I go on holiday.

The hardest bit it definitely toning the tummy so I'm with you there choceyes - mine still sticks out even though DD is nearly 3 (have been offered a seat on the train countless times :( ) I have skinny arms and legs and I'm not technically overweight at all with a BMI of 22, so I'm hoping that the shred will really help me to target the 'problem' areas!

Has anyone further down the line seen a noticable difference in stomach tone?

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2012 12:03

Choceyes and LPH, the shred definitely helps tone the tummy area - despite not dieting (I think you should if you want to see a big change), my tummy looks much flatter.

Got in some new size 14 jeans today :) was size 18 in Sept-Nov, then 16 and since Shred (started 8jan I think),diet and walking lost 10lbs mostly off my bum/hips still got lots of work to do on mummy tum but it is really helping as part of overall get fit drive as with small BF baby as I can't get to gym or cycle.
Did L1 (day 13) again as couldn't face L2 after a 4day break and boy did my arms ache again!

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2012 15:35

Well done ssmile - that's fantastic Smile

L2 D14 nearly half way ! I think I am more of a 60 day shred ! Still I know my energy levels are increasing and also my stamina ! yeah!!

ssmile · 07/02/2012 19:40

Thanks still need to lose another 14lbs but doing it slowly 1-2lbs per week no special diet just eating 1200 calories a day +200 more for BF the baby, cut out most biscuits, cakes etc replaced with fruit &drinking lots of options hot chocolate when desparate for sweet fix which is daily in afternoon :o Plus walking 3miles a day to &from school. But had blow out at weekend&dinner in pub last night so tried to be really gd today to help balance out the week.

My back muscles really ached doing L2 so I dropped back to L1 until I feel better. All the plank stuff I find vhard as weak back & C-sec 5mths ago, but know it will really help me in longterm.

LittlePickleHead · 07/02/2012 20:30

I've just done L1 day2 and all of you further down the line are keeping me inspired - after going for it yesterday it really hurt today! I did extra stretches at the end as Jillian's seem pretty short? I feel good though. How many times do you have to do something before it is a habit? Would love it to become second nature but I still had to talk myself into doing it!

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2012 07:48

I've done it, I've done it

Now the challenge is, will I be able to force myself back into it and a diet after the hols??????

ssmile · 08/02/2012 07:59

Wow bigtilly that's FAB :o and inspiring for us struggling on through it. What's your biggest change in body shape and what next......

choceyes · 08/02/2012 09:16

LPH - Your body sounds very similar to mine. I have a BMI of 21.5 and have skinny arms and legs, with a big bellly. I only look good in a smock top and skinny jeans, so I'm fed up with not being able to wear anything else, cos everything else just clings to my stomach. Last week someone at toddler group asked if i was pregnant again...grrrrr.

BigTilly - very glad to hear the Shred will help with the stomach area! I was planning to do 6P6W after the Shred. Will see how it goes.
Well done for completing the Shred too!

What mass weights do everybody use? I use 1kg in each arm, is that about right? It's the lowest weight on my DH's weights pack. I found it a bit too heavy on Day 1, but yesterday managed them a bit better. My arms are not very strong at all.

I did L1 D2 yesterday, and found it a bit harder than day 1. My thighs hurt to walk today. Like LPH I found the side lunges the hardest. I was so glad the workout ended shortly afterwards!

rosalux · 08/02/2012 09:32

Congratulations bigtilly !!! I've just completed L3D3 (D21 overall) and did Natalie on the first set and Anita on the second set of each exercise. Definitely much harder this way! And my bum is hurting again, so clearly Jillian has found a new way to torture my butt muscles! I'm hoping to increase the proportion of Natalie to Anita each day until I'm 100% Natalie (which seems a long way off right now).

LittlePickleHead · 08/02/2012 10:01

I HURT today - do I just keep on going? I feel like my stomach muscles are going to rip (I must be really unfit!)

putyourhatonsweetie · 08/02/2012 10:06

well done bigtillymint enjoy the hols.

duvet · 08/02/2012 10:53

Yes I noticed a change in my stomach it's flatter after 30DS it still wobbles though when I do jumping jacks in front of the mirror not sure if there's much I can do about that cos I dont want to lose anymore weight. But I feel better, fitter and more energetic and have kept it up x3 a week since doing 30DS.

It does get easier although it is hard to judge if I've worked hard enough cos I dont get as out of breath as I did to begin with hopefully cos I'm fitter not cos I'm slacking????? Muscles still achy sometimes though.

LittlePickleHead · 08/02/2012 11:26

choceyes that is my uniform at the moment as well, I sometimes veer away from it and wear tighter things, but I've really shocked myself by a few photos that have appeared on facebook, hence my resolution to sort out the mum tum!

I use 1kg on each arm, it's definitely working! If at some point they start to feel too light (wishful thinking!) I'll go up.

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2012 12:21

I got up to 2.5kg weights for L3 - jumping jacks with them were hard! And I could do Natalie on just about everything apart from press-ups and some sit-ups, so I guess I need to keep on trying till I get to do Natalie on everything Smile

ScatterChasse · 08/02/2012 12:29

I've missed two days (had only done three) so I think I'll start again and have today as L1D1.

I really hate the jump rope one at the beginning, I don't know why, but when I do it in the cardio at the end it's fine.

Does anybody else find they 'click' and 'crack' as they do it? My ankles and shoulders are awful for it!

ReduceRecycleRegift · 08/02/2012 16:21

been off since friday due to flu, just did L2D10 (D19 in total), I was a bit pathetic and rubbish at it today!

rosalux · 09/02/2012 09:16

L3D4 (D22 overall). Okay, so doing stuff a la Natalie makes L3 way harder! I can just about cope with one set of Natalie on most things, but my knees absolutely killed this morning so I am adapting the jump lunge thingys and rock-start jumps and doing walking lunges with weights and weighted jumping jacks respectively instead. My knees could also be hurting because I neglected the foam roller from hell yesterday (I just forgot). Will try for 2 x 5min sessions today to make up, then only 2 more days on L3 before I get a massage on saturday!!!!

bigTillyMint · 09/02/2012 17:06

rosalux, the jump lunges were a complete no-no for my knees, so I just did Anita stylie! WTF is a foam roller from hell?!

rosalux · 10/02/2012 09:23

L3D5 (Day 23 overall). Definitely better today without the jump lunges or rock start jumps. Probably helped that I did 5mins on the foam roller yesterday. BigTilly the foam roller from hell is actually just a foam roller (but using it is hellish). Here's a picture: foamrollers.org.uk/foam-rollers/

It was recommended to me by a physio years ago on the basis that it's almost as good as massage (and lots cheaper though nowhere near as enjoyable).

One more day and then my massage. I cannot wait!

rosalux · 11/02/2012 12:05

L3D6 (D24 overall). Just me again? Now at the end of week 4 and only 6 more days to go. I can feel my abs hurting and am sure I would also look slimmer if I wasn't still downing 1/2 bottle of wine and large G&B bar every night Blush. I bought the Clean & Lean books so am going to start that next week once bf is over, but no reason I can't cut out wine and chocolate from today (except that it's so nice, sigh). Off for a massage in 40mins...

bigTillyMint · 11/02/2012 17:43

Rosa you are nearly there!

I will be back next week, probably with an extra 3 or 4lbs to lose!
