I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

Day 25 level 3 done- felt ok (feel crap I've nor been running but as we live in the country it just isn't safe with the snowy weather)

Had yesterday off as my back was really aching!

I did my first L3 this morning - I find it for some reason a lot easier than L2. Certainly less tiring. I haven't kept count at all of how many days I have done this for - must be getting near 30 days now!

I have also got No More Trouble Zone and Ripped in 30 - I did NMTZ yesterday and really enjoyed it. It has no cardio in it, but it is a really good 35 min workout which has a lot of mat work, and my legs, arse and stomach really ache today, so have done some good.

I also did L1 of Ripped (after L3 of the shred) this morning, it is very easy and similar to L1 of shred, but some different moves. I think it will be good to alternate with the shred when I get bored of the levels.

What I like about the shred though is that it is very slow and measured - the other workout videos of Jillian's (6 week 6 pack included) are a lot more fast paced.

Plus - I have hanging on the outside of my wardrbobe (as thinspiration) a Kookai dress which I haven't been able to fit into for ages - I tried it on today and I did the zip up! It is still too tight and I look like a cumberland sausage in it, but am on the right track and so am delighted!

bigTillyMint · 05/02/2012 17:50

Day 27 done - 3 to go! BuggyRunner, we are nearly there!

GetOrf, I also find L3 less full-on than L2. But Shock that other workouts are faster paced - I find myself struggling to hold my abs in after some of the cardio sections as I am puffing so much Blush

Does she do an old gimmers DVD?!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/02/2012 18:00

She needs to! I find that I can always keep up with her on the shred, less so with the other DVDs, and she changes moves so quickly I end up standing there shouting 'slow down' at the telly Blush

Those bloody cardio bits on L2 (the twisty moves and the skater jumps) used to knacker me out completely!

catsareevil · 05/02/2012 18:36

Day 29. For some reason I decided to do the workout at 5pm after having eaten nothing but an orange all day. Not clever. I still feel shakey. though have now had a second orange and am planning a chinese takeaway for dinner Grin

notveryinventive · 05/02/2012 19:09

Ive got to do L2 tonight again, but I really dont want to. I just simply CBA tonight. Why can I not stick to an exercise routine? Will I feel better for doing it? I think I will and will feel proud, but I just dont want to.

nkf · 05/02/2012 19:11

I'm on day 2. It's helll but manageable hell I find.
But do I keep doing level 1 until I can do it all. I keep feeling I've missed out instructions somewhere.

bigTillyMint · 05/02/2012 19:12

Yes, Yes to the twisty jumps, but I love the skater moves (think I probably do not do them energetically enough!)

cats, well done - nearly there! But I don't know how anyone could survive on an orange all day. I would be chewing my arm off!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/02/2012 19:38

I like the skater moves when I do them Anita stylee, but when I jumped and did 'huge, explosive moves' shut up Jillian I nearly died. Grin

catsareevil · 05/02/2012 20:38

Not sure what happened there BigTillymint. I'm not usually the type to forget to eat. I will rectify it soon (DH just going out to fetch food Grin). I'm using myfitnesspal to keep track of calories, so I try to eat enough so that I'm never more than a couple of hundred calories below my target.

ScatterChasse · 05/02/2012 21:00

I've got day three to do yet, but I've just come in from two and a half hours of dancing, have eaten and washed my hair and I really really don't want to. I think I'll be doing it at about 11!

I collapsed doing the press ups yesterday Blush my wrist just went under me. I think it must be partly mental, because my wrists don't hurt when I do the stuff with the weights. I'm a bit scared to try them again now though Sad.

Chesterado · 05/02/2012 21:05

Wow well done a you guys who are so close to finishing. A few days off again here due to illness of me and collapse of laptop but determined to finish and just done day 24. An away with work much of next week so will be aiming to finish by valentines day now. Killer buns arrived yesterday so not the end.

Lots of positive thoughts to those just starting too!

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2012 08:27

Day 28 done - 2 to go! Chester, only 6 days for you Smile

rosalux · 06/02/2012 09:10

L3D1 (D19 overall) and new red start on my calendar. Like GetOrf I find L3 strangely easier than L2, at least I'm less sweaty and exhausted by the end. Could be because I'm just doing Anita moves for the first couple of days and/or I'm just not doing it right! I like to think it's because I'm already strong in the relevant areas (ahem). Am quite looking forward to trying some others in the JM Collection when I'm done. Maybe alternating 6W6P with NMTZ?

putyourhatonsweetie · 06/02/2012 11:31

sorry disappeared for a while as between the shred and a bit of other exercise I appear to have trashed both knees and one arm. really hoping they heal soon because I can't bear the thought of trying lose weight without some proper exercise. low impact doesn't really interst me at the moment (which is probably why everywhere hurts)

started reading her master your metabolism book yesterday and can't decide whether to fall for it and get totally hooked if its actually a load of pseudosciencey bollocks and I just need to stick with my exisiting approach of eating less and exercising more...

GetOrfMoiiLand · 06/02/2012 11:36

My legs and stomach are killing me today - aching the worst they have since I started this caper.

It must be the NMTZ coupled with L3 shred. Christ I ache. I just walked up 4 flights of stairs looking like an elderly lady.

Going to do NMTZ again tonight and will alternate with shred.

If I don't look like Anita at the end of the this I am going to sue Jillian Michaels. All this pain has got to lead somewhere.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 06/02/2012 12:20

hey everyone, my last day of shredding was thursday Blush i cannot believe it because i was doing so well before. I am going to start again today and i really have to keep motivated.

I just googled before and after pictures of shred and i really wish i had taken some before, I can see more definition in my belly although i still have a long way to go and it doesnt exactly look smaller, but i can see there are muscles under there somewhere Smile. I have only done about 12days so far so hopefully I will get results.

For everyone near the end well done, thats great Smile

just wondering if you can let us know what type of results you have seen so far? To help motivate us Grin

TubbyDuffs · 06/02/2012 12:25

Can I ask a question of the shredders who have completed all 30 days, has it made a difference, and if so, how much of a difference to your body?

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2012 13:52

Tubby, I feel more toned and less bloaty, my legs are definitely stronger and the muscles in my arms are more well-defined.
Sadly I have not been dieting, so I haven't lost any weight!

My knees are hurting today when I sit down/stand up and they hurt on the moving lunges which is not good as we are going skiing in 6 days Sad

ssmile · 06/02/2012 14:16

moving ditto Blush also blew the diet big time Sunday eating more than double my 1400 calories goal was just SO tired very long week with kids mostly on my own &baby up lots, and think my body just needed a couple of days off exercise. Did school walk today both ways is total 3.2miles and will shred tom, not sure I can face level two again though, may do L1 again as hurt my back muscle tryin to do level two.

jen127 · 06/02/2012 20:55

putyourhatonsweetie · 07/02/2012 08:47

i really wish has taken before and after pics to stick on the biscuit tin

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2012 09:23

Day 29 done - one more to go!!!

I have to say, my abs are definitely stronger - if it wasn't for the spare tyre, I'm sure you could see a 6-pack!

rosalux · 07/02/2012 09:29

L3D2 (D20 overall). Am 2/3 of the way there now! I've spent the last two days just doing Anita, but feel ready to move on to Natalie for at least some of the moves (probably not the jump lunges. Just thinking about them makes my knees hurt!) I've ordered the clean and lean diet books which I shall be doing once I finish 30DS and BF (both by the 20th Feb) and hopefully my discipline with exercise will translate (or transcend according to Jillian) into this other area of my life!

choceyes · 07/02/2012 09:32

Can I join in with this thread?

I started the Shred last night, so Day 1 of L1! Didn't find it too bad, although my thighs do ache a bit this morning. I found the strength exercises the hardest, as I seem to have very weak arms. Cardio and abs weren't hard at all.
My main aim is to get a flatter stomach, so I am on a low GI diet as well (Well most of the time!). I still look pregnant even though my youngest is nearly 18 months now!

I also do Zumba once a week and boxercise every two weeks and walk a lot every day. Breastfeeding still too, so I do get quite hungry. so I am hoping that ramping up the exercise will tone me up and lose the last few lbs I just can't shift.
