So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2011 21:49

Just place marking - life still manic!
Slice of stollen for me please bee - I ADORE marzipan.
I ate popcorn at the pantomime today - om nom nom.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/12/2011 21:56

Smelly cheese?? Sad
I know I've been crap lately but c'mon!!

grinningbee · 19/12/2011 21:59

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/12/2011 22:04

Hol was great ta. Had a long weekend at Centerparcs and am chilling at my mums till Friday. My sister is back from Australia so we are having a catch up week.

How are things bee? I won't even tell you how naughty I've been this week!

Anyway I'm off to bed in expectation of being up in the night, dd has a god awful stinking cold!

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 19/12/2011 22:12

wine for me, but please excuse me if I fall asleep in front of the filmXmas Smile

perhaps the police were trying to make you feel safer bee, rather than meaning you should be worried?

hi cheese. Envy of centreparcs, I would love to go to the one near Penrith.

really can't believe some people - someone has stolen the christmas wreath my parents put on my grandparents grave last weekShock

off to drink my wine and contemplate being fatter than the christmas turkey.

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 02:40

Oh do tell of naughty food, it'll make me feel less bad after my last proper weigh in this year later today!

Things are ok here thanks guys. The police spoke to the chap again and reckon he'll leave us alone now. We shall see... I'm sure you'd understand if I tell you I'm still a smidge uneasy though.

I am up with ds. Watching the Hairy Bikers Xmas on telly and feeling a bit peckish! Ds was up from 11pm last night to about 3am, and woke tonight at 1am... so lord knows when or if I'll get back to bed.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 20/12/2011 02:41

And Ria that is just shocking. Some people have no bloody respect. It's sickening really.

OP posts:
SlinkyBells · 20/12/2011 10:44

Woo hoo! I've made it across to the new thread! Tablets are great, when they work.

I'm eating myself into oblivion and feel quite sick. Dp isn't helping; he has that rare gift of self-control when it comes to food. So I'm left troughing the left-over dips before they go out of date (hate wasting food) all by myself. Selfish arse. Also, my best friend came over on Sunday with home-made Mississippi mud pie, which is just like a rich, dark chocolate torte. Loads left, so naturally I'm eating big slabs of it, smothered in brandy cream, although not for breakfast yet.

ria that's awful about the wreath, disgusting. cheese hope you're enjoying time with your sis. bee Hope you managed to squeeze some z's in last night. csws Know what you mean about hectic right now!

Where's our kid? Not seen her for a while, hope she finds us ok.

Ds woke up with the devil in him, thank god he's now having a decent nap. I guess we're all guilty of waking up tired and grumpy, it's just a little more annoying when it's a baby crawling around refusing to have nappy put on! Xmas Smile. I'm in a grump too, must be catching (or my stupid hormones more like).

Huffpot · 20/12/2011 13:39

Phew! Ive been wicked with my food as have had a mad few days Christmas shopping and sitting at hospital with a suspected blood clot which has been given the all clear after a scan so food has gone out the window(even had a Maccas!)

Poor Bee and i cant believe some lowlife took a wreath off a grave:-[

SlinkyBells · 20/12/2011 16:11

So this thread is where we can list our naughty festive treats without feeling guilty, right? Ok, food diary today so far:

B: muesli, two slices of white toast with peanut butter
L: tortilla chips and creamy dips
Snack: Dark choc mud pie cake thing, with a cup of tea containing semi-skimmed (instead of skimmed) and two spoons of real sugar! (usually have sweetener). It was luvverly.

Anyone else wanna jump on my confession waggon?

Oh, am house-bound with a 10.5mo with a dodgy tummy, otherwise I probably would've done loads of exercise and eaten salad. Honest Xmas Wink.

tinselstix · 20/12/2011 16:14

OK, brace yourselves!

B: A wispa Xmas Blush
L: Smelly cheese and toast with lots of butter and chutney
Snack: Massive glass of port

I'm so screwed once January comes and I have to face myself in the cold, harsh light of the New Year weigh in! Xmas Grin

SlinkyBells · 20/12/2011 16:51

Erm, aren't we meant to be weighing in tomorrow?! Last one of the year, and it ain't gonna be pretty judging by my sneaky WI on Sunday am.

Pixie ! Wispa for breakfast sounds very indulgent...and port already?! Xmas Shock Xmas Envy.

MIL started this tummy bug on Sat, and text me earlier to say she'd lost 4lbs. I'm secretly hoping I get it now Xmas Grin.

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 17:21

I'm loving these confessions ladies Xmas Grin. I got back to bed at 4am... grrr.

Yep, tis the last weigh in of the year tomorrow, so please pm me those stats. If anyone does want to weigh in next week I'm sure we can do that too. Maybe a bit of a gain next week won't be as bad as a huge gain the week after Xmas Wink.

My confession for the day is that I ate a greggs sausage roll while out today. Very nice, but instant indigestion. And I shall be having some wine later too. Mud pie sounds lovely though!

Went to visit my best mate this morning in her brand new house. I am very very envious... tis gorgeous. Maybe one day.

Confessions. Right

Friday: had lunch at cafe rouge (sausage sarnie), dinner was SW curry and had gin and wine
Sat: sCRAMBLED egg roll for brekkie, party food and cheese n biscuits for lunch, pizza at strada for dinner plus large volume of wine
Sun: Starbucks breakfast panini, party food and cheese and crisps for lunch, chilli con carne rice and garlic bread for dinner.
Roses, shortbread and muchos booze was all mixed in.

URGH.
Today has been better:
Breakfast: weetabix
lunch: noodles and stirfry veg
dinner: beef kofta curry

Syns: 7 roses and a gin and tonic

So I win!

bee sorry to hear about that bugger, hope its sorted
ria shocked and appalled about the wreath.

SlinkyBells · 20/12/2011 19:53

I'm on the cider! Mmm, Greggs sausage roll bee, they're my guilty pleasure. Scoffed one almost whole a while back, whilst standing in the street, ds in pram. Felt like everyone was going to stare open mouthed at me and judge away. Then realised I was in my pikey hometown where no-one gives a toss!

Er, cheese that reallly doesn't sound that bad?? Ok, maybe the buckets of wine Grin. But if we were going to confess last few days, mine is this:

Thurs: 3-course Christmas meal + wine
Fri: Chinese take-away + wine and birthday cake
Sat: 3-course Christmas meal +wine
Sun: 2-course Christmas meal (inc mud pie)
Mon: leftover roast dinner stuff and TWO portions of sickly mud pie with cream.

I win I win I Win!! Don't I?! Xmas Grin Knew this thread would turn into a who-can-shove-the-most-crap-in-their-cakehole competition!

Hedgepig · 20/12/2011 19:58

Cheese well done sounds like a fab weekend.
OK started the day hangover after a nice Thai meal meal last night with his knows how much wine followed by a couple of slugs of Bailies (sorry about the spelling)

B crumpets and jam, and toast and cereal (lots of all if them in fact a weeks with if HEBs)
L toasted ham and cheese sanie and a mug shot and apple (almost saintly)
D fish in breadcrumbs (bird eye not SW) and veg

snacks - more toast, Roses (lost count how many), cake, several lumps of cheese

from the above you can tell that bread, cake etc, is my down fall when it cones to dieting

Hedgepig · 20/12/2011 20:50

PMSL at the who-can-shove-the-most-crap-in-their-cakehole competition! Xmas Grin

Watching the hairy bikers Christmas Party they are making some delicious food - drools

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 21:00

Bless each and every one of you for confessing! This is brill. Please may I add that I very naughtily finished off my dd's chocolate snowman this evening. Yum yum.

I am currently being cooked for Xmas Shock and am having turkey and cranberry sausages (in frylight) with mushy peas and oven chips. The turkey sausages are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. The shop only make them for a short while each December.

Slinky as confessions go, yep you're winning hands down my dear Xmas Grin.

I went into another clothes shop today to see if I've gone down a size, and I got into some Dotty P's 14 jeans. For shits and giggles I also tried a size 12 but didn't realise they were the uber skinny cut. Thought I'd need to get them surgically removed!! Can't do up 12's yet, but hopefully by the summer I'll be there.

I did my measurements of vital statistics again today (pre naughty food) and I have lost now:

Bust 10 inches

Waist 9 inches

Hips 14 inches Xmas Shock

So 33 inches off in total so far!! That's nearly 3 feet of me gone! Well, it was until I started troughing anyway Xmas Wink

bloody bloody bloody thread!

just typed a HUGE (albeit quite boring and self-indulgent) post and it has bloody vanished. PAH!!!

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 22:21

Well I'm listening Ria, so go on, what were you saying?

Damn, I've almost had a bottle of red. That's about 26 syns?

Ah... the freedom from having weighed in already. Bliss!

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 20/12/2011 22:26

summary-

fairly sure with effort I can win the "who-can-shove-the-most-crap-in-their cakehole competition". (Dsis has lost4kg on the arsehole-wanker-H diet) cannor be arsed to re-post my efforts so far, but [fwine]

just watched the eddie izzard drama from sunday. didn't like thatXmas Sad I get irrationally cross about things that aren't realistic IYSWIM. Nice sentiment but that kind of thing DOES NOT happen. (I need to get a grip)

watching Hairy Bikers now.... would rather be watching Clarissa and Jennifer. Spent last nigt reading Delia as we are planning a few get-togethers over the christmas period (Lots of hospitality to repay, and the main bits of the house have a small chance of staying tidyish for a weekHmm) Need easy and cheap but impressive, but expect we will have chilli/sausages and jacket spuds for friends/kids friends (and my huge batch of frozen SW chilli for my veggie mates), lasagne with no-child friends, and we were going to have roast beef with my parents, but it may end up being another lasagne if dsis and the kids will come too. Last year we were at the filming of the hairy bikers special (because of the snow most of the people who paid vast amounts of money to be part of it couldn't make it, but our friend lives on the estate where they filmed and all sorts of hangers on were drafted in to make up the numbers! DS1 is visible in the audience, and he now loves venison. DS3 and I nearly froze to death keeping out ofthe way of the camera in the snowy grounds!)

sorry, blathering...Xmas Blush

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 22:29

Oh, I love the hairy bikers... proper real food. And the odd double entendre (sp?) too.

OP posts:
RiaInExcelsisDeo · 20/12/2011 22:37

they aren't the worst, I'm just not that fussed about enthusiastic cooking. (they are like the Wayne and Garth of cooking Grin) Love a good double entendre though (also sp?) DH's cheffy fingers are twitching at the ice-sculpting. (his mum is from Newcastle maybe that's my problem)

are you still BF bee? does your DS sleep any better after you have wine?
