So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

I am Ria. Not sure how wine consumption affects him as this is the first time I'll have had a whole bottle since having him. I'm really hoping he'll sleep properly tonight.

I'm thinking I may have to get him checked by a Dr soon though as he seems to be a bit yellowy/orange at the mo. Trying to get him to drink plenty, but if he's still like it after the weekend then I'm taking him.

Dh and I are eating some stale maltesers now. They've been in the cupboard for ages and are chewy rather than crunchy... odd is all I'll say!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/12/2011 23:18

Who is a bit yellow bee? Your DS? Check the whites of his eyes. If they are yellow then he needs to be seen before Xmas. If the whites aren't yellow then he prob isn't yellow as that's the most sensitive part to pick it up.

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 23:22

I'll do it when he next wakes up Cheese - do I need to worry? I can wake him now if need be.

He's quite happy and chirpy, bit off his grub due to teething, just looked a bit yellow/orange in his face.

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/12/2011 23:29

No no don't wake him. Do it in the morning.

It's v rare for kids to go yellow so I wouldn't worry, it was prob just the light!

grinningbee · 20/12/2011 23:38

Thanks Cheese. But if he is yellowish in the white of the eyes, it's appointment time.

Last food shop list written for before Xmas. I am really looking forward to braving the shops... not. Hopefully I can do it sans dc.

Maltesers all gone. Back on sugar free squash now. Woohoo! Tis the high life here... lol.

Excuse me ladies, but I was looking for a diet thread, and have stumbled into this gorge-fest by mistake. Anyone know where I might find a slimming thread, or are they all closed for Christmas?!

The height of indulgence that I have planned is to have bread and chutney on boxing day, and some chipolatas with Christmas lunch!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 21/12/2011 07:40

Well done csws keep going! We'll be regretting it in 10 days time Smile

Let me know about your son bee

Food:
B: omelette
L: white bean soup and hobbit toast
D: chicken Kiev sw style (3syns I think)

One of my sisters new boyfriends is coming up tonight to meet us Grin. Must resist urge to embarrass him and her!

Beef kofta curry was delish, will post laters!

SlinkyBells · 21/12/2011 08:03

Morning all

Sorry CSWS! Personally, my diet club has temporarily closed. Keep chuckling to myself, as I'm sure a few weeks ago I was typing that I was only planning on taking 3 days off?! Pahaha! If only I had some of your resolve and dedication! It does get soooo much harder when you're only a few small pounds away from target excuses excuses.

Yes bee, how id ds today?

Well, either present wrapping burns a lot of calories, or my scales have broken ! Not a bad DoD for me given the above.

Ooh cheese sounds like you'll have fun 'welcoming' dsis's new boyf to the fold then? My family are very sarcastic and we usually have a laugh and a joke at the expense of the newcomer; if they laugh along, they're a Keeper! Xmas Grin.

grinningbee · 21/12/2011 09:33

Good morning!

Tis the festive Dod, so if you haven't already, please pm me those lovely stats.

Ds is still looking yellow (it's his nose mostly) but his eyes are fine. He did wake again last night (aaarrrggghh) and I'm afraid we tried a new tactic. I fed him so I knew he wasn't hungry, put him back in his cot, and came in for a kip on the sofa! Dh came in and slept on the floor Xmas Grin. He cried for a bit (ds, not dh) and then went back off, so we snuck back in. Not a good way to do it, but I couldn't be up for 3 or 4 hours again. Feel like a right meany.

Sorry for being a bad influence CSWS. And Slinky 3 days off...? Pmsl Xmas Wink. I'm the same. Thought I could hold out until Xmas eve. Yeah, right! I know I'll put loads on, and I'll be kicking myself, but it'll come off again.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Er, off out to Nottingham (yep, I'm insane) so probably a cake in costa coffee
Quorn chilli and rice, more than likely a glass of wine too.

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 21/12/2011 09:40

Ok it's not jaundice then, phew. I wouldn't worry too much then!

Enjoy shopping ( you are crazy)!

I think you did the right thing in the night, you all need some rest and hopefully it will help him learn to self settle a bit. Well done, it's bloody awful when you have to leave them.

3 days off is nothing. I've had about 3 weeksSad. But in Jan I will just start again! Slow and steady wins the race!

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 21/12/2011 11:12

we are off shopping too. DHs cheque hasn't cleared yet though, so we will have to go again when it does.

have done my xmas WI. No point PM-ig you this week bee. We'll just say I have a new starting pointBlush Are we doing WI next week or not til January now?

Had slightly Too Much Wine last night. oops.

grinningbee · 21/12/2011 19:57

Last call for the DoD!

C'mon folks, there's only 4 of us on the list!!

Back properly later - just off to put ds to bed.

Onwards and downwards Xmas Smile... well, with a slight sidewards hiccup over Xmas anyway Xmas Wink

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 22/12/2011 07:39

Great results everyone.
I didn't weigh in, what's the point when all I ate yesterday was carrot cake and Yule log.Blush

grinningbee · 22/12/2011 07:48

Never mind Cheese - was it nice?

For what it's worth, I've already put on from Tuesday Xmas Blush. I ate my first mince pie of this Xmas yesterday at Mil's house. Yummy! Oh, and we may also have had a chinese for tea...

Next weigh in is going to be spectacularly bad in the bee household.

I'm doing the festive food shop today. I suspect I'll need a stiff drink afterwards. Dh is going to keep the dc at home this afternoon when he gets in so I can do it in relative peace. Hahahahahahahahaha!

Off to give the dc their breakfast now and sharpen my elbows ready for later Xmas Wink

OP posts:
grinningbee · 22/12/2011 07:51

Oh, and I promised dd that we'd make flapjacks today. I can feel my waist increasing!

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 22/12/2011 08:02

Good luck bee. I did ours last night and it wasn't too bad! The cake was delish. I made SW chicken Kiev, they were ok but not enough filling. For tonight, I have made prawn and crab cakes, will let you know how they go.

Dd is stood next to me waving at upsy daisy on the TV, it's v cute.

I'm off to get a few bits and pieces today and then we are DONE for Christmas!

grinningbee · 22/12/2011 08:33

Aww how cute. Dd has developed a fixation with Winnie The Pooh. It's on now... only trouble is that she cries when it finishes! She actually hugged the tv earlier when a pic of him came on.

Ds has taken the opportunity to snaffle her cheerios while she isn't looking Xmas Grin

Well done on being organised! No more presents to get here, just wrapping when I find everything I've put away. Cake to marzipan and ice (eeek), aforementioned food shop, then I am finished.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Sweet chilli chicken and veggies

Probably followed by a coffee Bailey's though...

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 22/12/2011 08:41

Ah bless! Good luck in the supermarket.

grinningbee · 22/12/2011 08:47

Ha ha ha ha ha!

I've just looked at our account online, and I think I know what I'm getting for Xmas. What costs £89 from Amazon? Xmas Wink. And after I said not to get one for my birthday as well. Bless. 3 days to practice my surprised and happy face then...

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 22/12/2011 09:34

I know what your are getting for Christmas Bee Xmas Grin you will love it

must get up and going need to pack to go too my parents tomorrow and do loads of jobs 1st

Well done everyone, I have really lost the plot diet wise not doing any propose SW cooking just eating carp as I'm tired and cold. Not sure what to do, I'm going to group tonight to get the gain written down in the book and then more focus (well try not to stuff myself stupid) over Christmas

grinningbee · 22/12/2011 10:01

Hedge you have done brilliantly though, don't go too hard on yourself.

Do you have a K? I'm worried that I love papery books too much. I love my books. We have approx 20 boxes of them in storage though...

Good luck with the packing.

This is most odd. I have 6 boxes of mince pies, a huge box of shortbread, a tin of celebrations and countless other naughty things, and I don't fancy any of it at the mo. Did I get replaced overnight Bodysnatcher stylee?

OP posts:
SlinkyBells · 22/12/2011 12:47

Wow, well done CSWS, you're doing so well! And well done everyone else too.

I've woken up with a stinking cold, rah. Still dropped ds off at MIL's and went to the Children's Centre where I volunteer for a couple of hours this morning. It was my last time, and they gave me a box of Roses bless 'em. Meeting some friends and their babies at a soft-play later, which really does not appeal with a headache and snotty nose Xmas Sad.

Ah bee you've spoilt your surprise now! You'll have to let me know what you think. I decided not to get one for dp; he downloaded a free app for the Blackberry Playbook and is using that instead. Well done on losing more weight; remember when I pm'd you my stats not so long ago and you replied saying you were stamping your feet because you wanted to weigh the same as me?! Ta dah! The 10st-club is within sniffing distance for you Xmas Smile.

Food's looking quite good today:

B: Weetabix
Snack: Alpen (not Light though; one of those scrummy new coconut and milk choc ones).
L: Spicy three-bean chilli with rice, yogurt
D: Not sure, think it'll be fish fingers with veg as nothing in.

Off to view new house again tomorrow afternoon with Dsis & BIL (who's an electrician) and can't wait...even if it doesn't look like we're moving until the end of Feb now! Grrr.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/12/2011 23:17

Oh fab pressie Bee. I have no idea what dh has got me, if indeed anything. We said max of £25 on each other this year, but a week ago he had apparently still not thought of anything Angry, despite me having the same thing open in a firefox window for months, which he knew I wanted, and was only £13.
Anyway, I bought myself 3 small presents and gave them to the mother's help to wrap with the kids to give me one each which they think is a suprise for me!
But now I suppose I have to get something from the kids for dh, so we will be off to the shops tomorrow morning before or after ds2's eye appointment.

Christmas Ocado shop coming early tomorrow. Have no idea how I am going to stop the dc from from finding all the sweets etc that are supposed to be from Santa when it will be just me and them here Xmas Hmm. I think I might eat rather too much bread and butter over Christmas.
