So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

scarlett - DS1 is 14. I don't mind him watching Black Books, it's "intelligent" comedy in my book - I like it too Wink I would rather that than him play COD (I really thought it was about gangster fishBlush) Have just torn him away from The A-Team ('80's style)

I SO KWYM about long-term weight issues. I was always much taller and heftier than all my friends (and most of the boys) at primary school, and got picked on at secondary. I remember being a size 14 when I was 16/17 and was convinced I was hideous and overweight and was always trying to get thin (one particlar bastard boyfriend used to compare me often to someone much slimmer and daintier that he would have preferred to have shared his motorbike with - she quite rightly set her sights higher). I have had MH issues since 17/18 and had married DH and had DS1 very young, so I seem to have been fat forever (15 years at least). ATM I would probably be thrilled with 15st. 13 ideally. I think those charts suggest 11 stone is the top-end of a healthy weight for me, but I think I would feel too thin at that if that makes sense?

am going to give MFP a go for a bit, as I'm finding SW too time-consuming ATM. I need to be more organised for SW to work for me. and I'm not.

Evening DODers Smile

Well, a gain for me this week but bollocks to it because I'm back on a mission as of monday morning, writing it all down and feeling like I'm on a journey to target etc etc Grin
Could have been at target before Christmas if I'd stuck to plan but hey ho - really need to be there by Easter at the latest now.
What is it with the ridiculous self sabotaging business?

Like kid I got to my slimmest with SW pre DS1 (was going to group then) and it was very weird to see and feel myself becoming a slim person (something I'd never been since pre teens). It really did feel fantastic and my self esteem was sky high. It's good to know I've done it before, so can do it again but even more frustrating when I have a month like the last one when I destroy nearly all the good work done Hmm

Slinky it does get better.
I'm 5 weeks into return to work now and finally feel like it's getting a bit easier, still feel like my brain isn't quite firing on all cylinders but it is getting there very slowly. If only the work trousers weren't so tight snug but that's my penance for weight going in the wrong direction, I refuse to buy a size bigger, the next pair I buy will be a 12!

bee hope you're OK, those stats are amazing.

Right off to do food diary and spend 5 mins planning tomorrow's scran.

kid · 25/01/2012 22:13

I've been good today with sticking to plan.
I had a red day:

B: 2 weetabix (b), milk (a)
L: prawns, feta cheese (6 syns), cucumber, tomotoes , onions
Apple, satsuma
D: Homemade chicken and vegetable soup
Muller light yoghurt.

Still need to plan tomorrow, quickly!

Riapwhatyousow · 25/01/2012 22:21

kid, are you becoming soup queen? you need the covent garden soup company cookbooks. honest, you do. especially with EE, most soup recipes are adaptable for SW. (I am a bi souped-out as DH made quite a lot over xmas/NY)

bee, hope you are OK

please link to new thread when it happens.

dental appt in morning. wish this week would go away.

off to watch a Midsomer Murders DVD with DH (unless there is Marple on repeat). Watched a Come Dine with Me that was filmed in the local town last night - where do they find these people???

FriendofDorothy · 25/01/2012 22:22

Cheese - next week can you do me a favour and reset my start weight to 16st 7lbs which is what I was when I started doing SW last January.... I am feeling like I need to acknowledge all the weight I have lost and not just the bit since the start of the year.

So, I have lost 1.5 stone in total :) Thanks :)

Need to think of a new thread title....

SlinkyB · 25/01/2012 22:44

Well done everyone!! Sorry I missed The List again; I think I stayed the same but failed to WI this am (convenient). I have next Weds and Thurs off work so will def WI then (remind me).

Just caught up on the thread, can only do it on laptop right now as it's so full .

Five full days off work now, thank the lord! Thanks for the words of encouragement, was week 4 this week, and am now not working a five-day week until w/c 16th April, by which time I'm hoping to be part time so can return to spending FAR too much time on MN.

grinningbee · 25/01/2012 22:50

Witty title failure tonight I'm afraid, but a nice fresh thread is

for your amusement.

We'd never make you feel bad Bee! Crikey, you weighed-in all over Christmas, you're allowed a week off now and then, esp with everything you have going on right now.

Hmm, new thread title, I've a feeling TSP might be along soon with a suggestion or three. Is it too early to shoe-horn 'spring' into it? Looking forward to some 'Feb-ulous' losses? Ok, I'll shut up... first time for everything.

kid · 25/01/2012 22:59

My soup tonight was so much better than last night. As I was having a red day, I decided to add some chicken that I'd boiled separately to it.
The soup was much better blended tonight as I used the correct gadget - don't ask! Grin

I will have a look online for some SW soup recipes.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/01/2012 23:04

I will post my sweetcorn chowder one for you kid, though not tonight as I'm going to bed. I prepped everything and put it in the slow cooker pot last night, then added boiling stock this morn and left it for 4 hours on low (except for adding a bit more water, as the recipe quantity wasn't enough).

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/01/2012 23:05

Just highlighting again the NEW THREAD

kid · 25/01/2012 23:10

sounds good. I'll give it a try at the weekend.
Is it okay to freeze soup?

LakeFlyPie · 25/01/2012 23:14

Here you go kid

Fanks for new fred bee

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/01/2012 23:15

most soups freeze very well, yes, but I'm not sure my chowder would as it has quinoa in it. I suppose it might, but I've never tried freezing stuff like that.

LakeFlyPie · 25/01/2012 23:15

Sorry, meant to say good losses folks.

Will be up there with you next week Smile

kid · 25/01/2012 23:19

that link won't open for me Lake
