So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

ooops... I have lost 3lb since 21 Dec!!!!! Xmas ShockXmas Grin

grinningbee · 03/01/2012 10:41

I really wish I knew what makes him think it's right. But yes, trust = zero at the moment. Am liking the toffee hammer knuckle breaking idea....

Anyway, more importantly - how have you lost 3lb over Xmas you lucky sausage??????? Envy Well done you, that's fab!

I did my weigh in this morning. Including last week I've shamefully managed to gain 11lb Blush. But I have worked out that there are 13 weeks to dd's 3rd birthday, so if I am very good, I could be close to my initial target by then.

Right, must brave the weather and get to Sainsbury's. Joy. I sent H to work this morning with the last of the pringles, and also the mince pies, brandy butter and brandy cream. Him and his workmates can eat that lot. We still have a shed load of chocolate for the dc - should last them well into the summer and beyond!

The tin of celebrations is right in my eye line at the mo. I can see it over the top of the laptop screen. Must go and hide it...

Back later!

Grin

Oh god Bee that is a whopper of a lie Sad A friend told me this week that I approach my life with a ?Repress! Repress! Deny!? attitude (no, it wasn?t a complimentary conversation Grin ) and it sounds like you need a bit of that if you are going to get through this bit Sad Which is a miserable place to be. At least you are going to be slim and beautiful through it all!

Cheese - is it really as bad as nearly back to square one? Sad That is depressing. Hopefully it is all just bloat and a good week back on plan will shift the bulk of it quickly and easily. Hope you are DD are feeling a bit perkier.

Love your new name Ria! My name is crap for seasonal name changes! 16 weeks for a transformation ? that sounds eminently do-able, especially as you managed to actually lose weight over Christmas Shock You know that is actually illegal, right? Wink

CSWS I?d like to hear that kedgeree recipe as well, it sounds yum and I?ve got all the ingredients here bar a cinnamon stick after using them all in many vats of mulled wine

I wonder if we should have some kind of new countdown for the new year? Like the Christmas countdown only more successful Wink (more successful for everyone except Bee obviously - you were pretty bloody successful! Grin) What with Hedges one year target at the end of Feb, Rias 16 week transformation, Bees 13 week target - I wonder how we could work it all in to a countdown?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 11:20

Maybe counselling or something bee. I've gained between 9-11lbs, depending on when I weigh myself. I think I might join a class to get a weekly accurate reading.

I have 4 chocolate oranges, shortbread and cheese left. The cheese is in the bin, shortbread and choc DH can take to work! Thanks for the idea bee

happynewRia · 03/01/2012 11:32

Have just cleaned out the fridge. we have biscuits and chocolate I can eat and syn (unless it's gone by start dayWink), DH can finish the cheese and mince pies and everything else can go in lunch boxes next week.

am sorry for breaking diet law. All I have done is eat so much that I haven't had room for snacks!

like the idea of doing a countdown. sounds complicated though.

on the minus side, the Wii said DS1 has lost 5lb over the last couple of weeks, he is right at the bottom of the healthy weight box. But the GP wasn't worried about him losing weight, she said it was to be expected (maybe so, but I think it'll be getting towards a full stone that he's lost since he started being ill), and she has referred him to a specialist, who will decide if he has to have an endoscopy. At least he's stoped puking!

have a good day everyone Smile

pixiestix · 03/01/2012 11:33

Oh, meant to ask, who is List Master General this week? Day of Dooooooom tomorrow!

kid · 03/01/2012 12:33

Being back at work isn't too bad, glad its an INSET day though. I have a rotten cold and just want my bed.
Lunch was disgusting, I won't be making that again in a hurry. Hopefully dinner will be a bit nicer.

happynewRia · 03/01/2012 13:05

am a bit dubious about that lunch myself kid. was wondering about doing it with chicken and low fat mayo.

SO BORED today

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 16:03

Am happy to do the list tomorrow! Might as well, I will be at the bottom.

I'm bored too ria. It's taking all my will power to resist opening a choc orange. I feel like crap and DD is a snotty grump bag. Even c beebies isn't cutting it!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 16:13

Yo, Doomers. Room for another little fat one?

I may have very slightly started been on this thread about a thousand years ago

Alas alas, Christmas has done its worst, and I'm no slimmer than I was when I was on this thread last year .

I need to lose around 2 stone before getting referral for fertility treatment. Short term I'm going on a proppa beach-type holiday for the first time in my life at the end of next month, and whilst a bikini body is not likely by then (or ever) it'd be nice to feel a little trimmer.

So then. Can I come back join please? Blush

Disclaimer: I am not posting my weight. So there. I'll just post my losses

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 16:15

PS I am a serial namechanger, so y'all don't know me. But I know youuuuuuu

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 16:24

I was only thinking about you today when the steven Lawrence verdict was announced. How are ya pal? I'm as fat as ever

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 16:36

Cheese! Have a fat-armed hug!

Yer, good news on the verdict. I'm off work this week but I know it'll be the Talk of the Town when I get back...

Sorry you're still plumptious, matey. ME TOO! Dear Lord, my belly! I did lose about 10lb but it really truly was not the year to get slim & it has come back, and then some. Now that I'm not locked in my study all day every day hopefully I stand more chance of success...

Finally re-joined 'cos some bastard has tagged an FB video of me delivering the address to the haggis at a Burns Night last year when I was a bit slimmer than I am now. Dear ladies: the sight of a giantess with sufficient arm-fat to roast several tonnes of Christmas spuds viciously stabbing a giant sausage encased in a sheep's stomach, arms wobbling all the while, triple chin gently shaking in anticipation of the meaty feast, is enough to drive anyone to a 36 day de-tox Grin

How are you, old bean?

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 16:38

365 day Hmm

Gonna take more than a month to render me anything other than heffersome.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 16:42

Forgot to say, sorry about the Fertility clinic doodah. Glad to hear thr the studying is finito, did it go well? How's bitch boss?

Life in the cheese household is fairly dull. Was doing well on the diet then I got struck down with pneumonia. Lost loads with being poorly and got to a size 12. Then I sabotaged relaxed a bit. I started our festive season early with thanksgiving in the USA and it's been downhill since. Still, New Year and new start and all that bullshit....

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 16:44

Ps - I'm sure you don't look that bad in the video. I forgot Burns Night was looming, I'd better book a sitter, we always go out and drink whiskey

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 17:04

Oh hellz Cheese, sorry you've been so poorly Sad. And arses to sickness-loss not lasting! So unfair!

Thanks for niceness about FC stuff. It's a bit of a pain to be sure, but who knows, a little weight loss might help m'damn incompetent uterus to pull its lazy-ass self together

I heart Burns night. I love it that you drink wizzo with the food as if it were wine Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 17:22

Oh sorry - bless you for remembering about stuff! - my studies all over and handed in, just waiting for a date for my viva which is MONTHS later than it ought to have been owing to the famous shiteness of my uni...

And bitch evil hag boss has GONE! I was discreetly removed and now have a new boss and someone to help me out, too. Am hoping that now so many of the sources of stress are gone, I can focus more on my lardage. When I lost 3.5 stone a few years ago, I'm sure it was the fact I was happy that helped...

grinningbee · 03/01/2012 17:44

Woohoooo! Hello Scarlet Wink. How's the baked apple with mincemeat addiction? Or is it still straight from the jar Grin Memory of an elephant me, sometimes.

Sorry you've ended up at the FC too, but hopefully it'll all be for the good in the end.

Very glad to see you back here (hug).

OP posts:
kid · 03/01/2012 17:49

Scarlett I have no idea who you are or anything about your messages to cheese is all about, sounds heavy though (can't think of another word to use!)

I am feeling worse as the day goes on depsite religiously taking medication every 4 hours. I am sure its just a normal cold I have but jeez, its really wiping me out.

Not sure I even want dinner but I don't want to skip it and end up picking at biscuits or crisps later. I don't even want a bath as its too cold.
I don't suppose my kids or DH will be happy if I don't make them any dinner and DS is insisting that I cut his hair. Sigh, its going to be a long night Sad

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 17:58

grinning Hey miss! Crikey how terrifying that you remembered that, especially as I have been sitting here eyeing a wrinkly apple and wondering if there's still some mincemeat in the cupboard Grin

Fanks re. FC :) Losing weight can only be a good thing whichever way I look at it, so I'm in the right place

Hey Kid . Sorry you feel the shiteness. I always think, given that a cold is just a cold, that it's insane quite how awful they are . Yeah 2011 was vile. So stressful I have no idea how I'm not thin as a lathe. But it's all receding, so hopefully 2012 will be better.

So...Obvously I am going to be a good girl and go back up thread and find out, but what's the drill these days? Did we used to post meals for the day? And what day is weigh in?

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 17:59

Oh and PS: Anyone using myfitnesspal? I am. It works when I can be arsed to do it

Sorry for clusterposting. Super excited about being back

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 18:28

Glad the shiteness of 2012 is behind you. Hoorah for a new boss! Onwards and downwards! Apple and mincemeat? yep we post our daily meal plan and day of doom is Wednesday. T'is me doing the list normally and bee does it when I can't be arsed I am away.

kid hope you feel better soon. I also have the lurgy and it's hideous.

How many syns are a mini magnum? I have 6 in the freezer Grin

Will check out myfitnesspal later

TheScarlettPimpernel · 03/01/2012 18:44

No seriously it's nice! You stuff an apple with mincemeat and bake it for about 20 minutes. It's a Slimming World Healthy Extra and tastes of mince pies Grin

thanks for heads-up. Oh God. There is no getting away from it, is there? I am going to have to weigh myself tomorrow morning to get Ground Zero Shock. I reckon I have gained about a stone since the last time I weighed myself. Foolish foolish Scarlett I might weigh myself in kilo, 'cos for some reason I find my weight in kilos easier to bear Hmm

I mightily recommend myfitnesspal. It's just a calorie counting tool but it works for me (when I do it) because it's not 'a diet' - no special foods or forbidden foods - just makes you log what you eat and how much exercise you do. When I did it I lost nearly a stone fairly swiftly, but was still eating chocolate/wine etc. Just was teaching myself you can't have wine and chocolate and a big dinner and dessert and cheese and not go for a walk. You'd think that would be obvious, of course....

I reckon an MM is about 6 syns? . Are you going to the SW classes??

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/01/2012 19:13

Fuck I just typed a long message and it got deleted. Bah!

To summarise what I said as my rice will be nearly cooked now

  1. I hate mincemeat. Vile
  2. Get up in the morning, shave your legs, have a poo and then weigh in. Get it over and done with
  3. MFP sounds great, will check it out. Wonder if I can mix SW and MFP
  4. MM is 9-10 syns depending on flvour
  5. I will weigh in tomorrow in the kitchen rather than the bathroom in case I wegh in lighter
  6. I don't go to SW classes as I find it patronising / humiliating. However, I am considering it as I need a kick up the ass. I might do a 6 week countdown thing.
