Am just trying this week to do attack purely to get me feeling nicer in a dress by Friday! (when I will ruin all my hard work) I need to lose 2 stone but will be really happy on Friday if I've lost 5lbs.

I had dreadful stomach cramps on the way home from a friend's today- didn't think I'd make the loo but did and had a major explosion (so sorry, way TMI!!) my mouth tastes really metallic - is this all normal?

Had scrambled eggs for breakfast then a galette with curried chicken for lunch (dry fried the chicken in curry paste, finished in the oven then stirred in a tablespoon of 0% yogurt) not sure if this is okay but it was tasty. Swordfish for dinner but no idea what to do with it- maybe another galette and curry paste?

My tummy feels really dodgy....

mixedmamameansbusiness · 30/11/2011 18:50

JBrd - I got roughly the same results as you. I dont think it is healthy to go without crabs for that long. I have introduced some brekkie biscuits and I am still losing weight, I try to alternate with porridge. If you feel that it is not for you to go without carbs for that long why dont you try the 6 days attack then maybe carbs once or twice a week maybe???? I know that isnt what the diet says but it is still so far from what you might normally eat that you should still lose weight although it might be at a slightly slower speed.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 30/11/2011 18:51

Hahahaha "go without crabs" - I hope we can all go without crabs for longer than that. CARBS obviously.

Sorry to lower the tone Blush

WentworthMillerMad · 30/11/2011 20:33

Hahahaha cheered me up mixed! Doing my reading in bed early night trick as have the munchies.
Would love a bar of cadburys from the freezer.........must think thin!

Hi - I was part of the last thread but fell off the wagon. Then I was perfect in October, lost a stone, gave up again in November. Now we have a shiny new month I'm giving it another go!

I am very fickle:( But I get great results from this diet, plus funnily enough even one month after giving up I haven't gained back all the weight I lost so that is my motivation!

I had a bad start today when I dropped a full box of eggs on the floor and they all broke, but it hasn't disheartened me!

WentworthMillerMad · 01/12/2011 19:30

Hi jbrd I think the website is VERY conservative. It told me 24th jan when I started in October. Finally lost another 2lb so am only 6 lb from target (have cheated with gin and wine). I think if you really stick to it you can do it v quickly - just staying on the wagon which is the hard bit. IMPOSSIBLE over Xmas surely!! ?

chickenlickin · 01/12/2011 22:09

Had something 'slightly' different today!
Made a oat bran egg/pancake thing and then cut into strips and had smoked salmon and waspbi paste and soy sauce - yummy and filled me up. (not sure if the sauce is aloud though)! Have lost 5lbs in 5 days and very happy!!!

WentworthMillerMad · 04/12/2011 19:27

Checking in - had some calamari tonight and an Italian fish stew all from m and s. yum! Love the veg days, pro days are v hard.
11 stone today. Hope my weight will start with - 10 by the weekend!

Great going WMM. Got family staying AND two consecutive nights out so it's been hard sticking to the PP/PV days but I have avoids obvious carbs (so made spaghetti bol for the family and I just had a larger portion of the bol and no pasta & roast dinner I avoided potatoes & pudding - not 100% dukan but hopefully won't push me right back). Saturday night wine - at someone's house so it was either beer or wine - isn't great but I'm not giving up booze entirely at this time of year. I did finally manage to drop another 2lbs on Friday after 5 days without a loss so fingers crossed with I weigh tomorrow morning I'll be much the same.
Those who are struggling or wondering how on earth you can cope without carbs, I'd say give it a go - if nothing else it has shown me (a total carb addict) alternatives that don't leaving me feeling totally stuffed. For example, I went to an Italian restaurant on Friday and normally would go straight to pizza/pasta but this time ended up having the most amazing seafood salad followed by steak with seasonable veg plus coffee - really tasty & a lovely change. And JBrd the initial weight loss is usually all the motivation you need to keep going through attack- it's when you're on cruise and STS for quite a few days that's it's tough. Does everyone still weight themselves daily? I have been but might drop to just a couple of times a week to hopefully avoid that disappointment.

Going to have 2 PP days to make up for 3 days PV (plus alcohol!) then back to alternate days from Wednesday.

LCN

mixedmamameansbusiness · 05/12/2011 10:21

I had a heavy alcohol weekend so need some PP days but have nothing really in to eat, hence had a bloody crumpet for brekkie.

I weigh everyday but i have a WW scales which weighs every quarter of a pound so still register loss without losing a pound.

Michaelahpurple · 05/12/2011 11:05

Hey there, joining the gang. I am 41lbs down, having been Dukan-ing since June. Trying to decide where to draw the line on target - think I want to go a bit below the original target (which is one lb away).

Much enjoying seeing what others eat - all gives one more ideas!

katkitya · 05/12/2011 11:47

What cottage cheese are you using?

Im starting my first day of attack today, I have my first Christmas do on Saturday. I would like to beable to get into last years dress by then!!

WentworthMillerMad · 05/12/2011 20:57

Purple that's amazing - 41lb!
I use sainsburys bgty cottage cheese with chives etc
Have also introduced v lean bacin, grilled with rind removed as a change.
Purple - did u follow dukan to the letter?
LCN - weigh twice weekly now, less if I cheat with booze!

katkitya · 06/12/2011 19:13

What about yoghurts, which ones are best for attack?

I ate a full pot of cottage cheese over the course of the night. i doubt thats allowed Sad

lechatnoir · 06/12/2011 22:00

I usually have fat free natural yogurt either with sweetener (plus drop of vanilla essence or lemon juice for a change) or some sugar free jelly. I know some people eat Muller with vanilla but they have about 8g of carbs so I'm not convinced.

I also use Sainsburys BGTY cottage cheese & quite like it actually! Tasty dinner of sirloin steak (bugger me this isn't a cheap diet is it?!!) with fried onion & an egg. Hoping for another lb off when I weigh tomorrow morning - Purple inspire us with how you've kept on track or helped along the way please Grin

chickenlickin · 07/12/2011 07:58

Another nice thing I tried was fresh brown crab meat from waitrose (was reduced)!!! Yummy on oat bran pancake. Really filling. Had my works do last night & have gained a 1lb!! Not that fussed as will just be a very strict pp day!!

I had my first roast dinner few days ago, chicken loads of veg, (are roast parsnips allowed)? Couldn't eat most of it as sure stomach has shrunk, just go's to show how much I used to stuff in before!!!

lechatnoir · 07/12/2011 11:04

Lost another b so now 11st13lb - nice to see11 stone again and looking forward to 10 even more Grin. That 11 lbs off in total since I started 21st Nov so 2 weeks & 2 days which isn't bad going - WOW this really does work and OK some PP days are tough, but generally I'm doing fine and can actually see how I can stick it at.

I was a real evening picker too WMM - pure boredom eating. I used to smoke, then I stopped so ate instead and now I've realised I just need to find something to do!!!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/12/2011 11:16

I am an evening picker which is difficult on PP days. I have been really naughty since Friday Blush but am back to PP today. Not going to weigh myself until next Friday. I feel like it will be a real boost to see it all come off at once.

lechatnoir · 07/12/2011 13:27

You need to make sure you've got some protein snacking stuff already in the fridge MMMB - I usually get those big packs of wafer thin turkey or ham & will graze on that or maybe prawns if they are on offer. I also made up some sugar free jelly and put it into little pots so I can snack on those if I want something sweet.

WentworthMillerMad · 07/12/2011 21:08

That's great lech - it really does help when u see the weight coming off.
I am 5lb from target and am only doing 2 protein days a week with 5 PV. Much easier and tbh am still loosing weight. Maybe a bit slower but more manageable.
I have 1 ww yog a day - 5g carb

JBrd · 10/12/2011 11:01

I've decided to give the Ducan diet a go - starting the attack next week, ugh!

One question - how do people manage with exercise? From what I've read in the book, he recommends walking every day, but I really want to do more than that! I have just signed up with a new gym and am really looking forward to getting back into doing Bodypump, yoga, pilates, and I am also planning to join a running group in the new year. But how am I going to manage doing vigorous exercise without at least some carbs?! What have you done?

WentworthMillerMad · 10/12/2011 20:14

Hi j - I have managed hour power walks about 4 times a weeks. I wondering if u better on Atkins if u into the exercise. It's higher in fat (slightly) so
Maybe give u more energy? Try the low carb thread a a few low carb experts on there (look out for custardo blog).
Good luck x x x

lechatnoir · 16/12/2011 20:36

Hey guys,

Not sure who's still Dukaning but hit my first stone today & still feeling really positive. I try & do the 20 min walk but but some days might just do 15 mins bike ride or 2 hours walking round the shops (I've convinced myself that really does count!!). I would say attack week you might want to hold off anything too strenuous as energy levels are a bit depleted.

Had my first sneak of cake in nearly 4 weeks - it was good but I amazed myself at being able to just have a couple of mouthfuls and leave the rest as previously I'd wolf the lot (& then sneak crumbs when no one was looking!)
Did you get to goal WMM?
LCN

MarchelineWhatNot · 19/12/2011 08:21

Protein-only day for me, and I have the right hump Angry

Breakfast: plain yoghurt, oat bran & Splenda
Lunch: smoked salmon & low fat cream cheese
Dinner: sausages & mustard.

I hate this diet, but it is so effective.
