Curry was fab! With garlic, ginger and coriander dollop! Yum! Yearning for chocolate though"....

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 05:43

I was reading about Tolerated Foods on Dukan this evening, we can have cornflour, custard powder, 30g low fat (below 7%) cheese, low fat cocoa powder and a tablespoon of tomato purée. That should liven things up a bit today.

minceorotherwise · 12/01/2012 07:46

Ooh they are worth having...if you come up with anything from those, let me know. Can't face another mustard or soy based sauce this evening.....

Dastardly27 · 12/01/2012 08:00

oh Alouisee, now that you are using cheese I was thinking of using it. There is a WW recipe and can get bridlelight 3% creamed cheese here. Here goes:
Pork chops (can get pork things here half the thickness of pork chop with no fat. I know pork isn't really allowed but hey ho, if all the fat is cut off.) Could always use chicken or other meat.
Mustard
Pork or veggie stock (200mls)
Creamed cheese (bridlelight here comes in separate rectangular squares and I use about 3 or 4 for 2 people)
Chopped leeks (works good with green beans too)
Seasoning

Using spray fry thing, fry pork on one side in frying pan. Season before. Turn over to cook and add leeks and a bit of stock if needed. Add mustard, according to your taste - usually about a tablespoon for me - and add more stock and mix in. When all mixed in, take off the heat and mix in the creamed cheese. I normally have it with carrots but will have to think again as they are limited. It is gorgeous meaL.

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 08:17

That sounds delish, I do think a creamy sauce always feels satisfying. Low fat fromage frais with a stock cube is a good saviour for me at the moment.

I'm pleased about cornflour because I like to toss chopped chicken in it before a stir fry - it sort of protects the meat and keeps it juicy. It also means I can do the Nigella spicy squid recipe, which I'll have to look up but it's basically squid rings tossed in seasoned cornflour and fried.

I havnt weighed this morning primarily because dh was in the bathroom but after yesterday's huge loss I will either be up a pound or at the same weight. I find that very disheartening so will weigh myself tomorrow after a pv day.

I love thread, checking in here is definitely keeping me on the straight and narrow, that and ketosticks - nothing like pale pink on a pee stick to know that you're burning fat.

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 08:19

Comprehensive Tolerated List

Dastardly27 · 12/01/2012 08:56

a friend of mine has made something with the goja berries and the birds custard powder. Muffin type things I think. Will look to see if I have the recipe for that. Have the custard powder but have only seen goja berries here once, at Christmas.

drywhiteplease · 12/01/2012 09:15

I accidentally bought low fat Greek yog 3%.is this a no no?bother.
Morning everyone.off to Zumba in a mo. day 5 of attack pp for me.love the recipes.only one slightly delicate prob......if I could only go to the toilet!help!

drywhiteplease · 12/01/2012 09:20

Wow alouisee that is a great site

Snapespeare · 12/01/2012 09:23

succesful PP day yesterday - trying for another today! haven't bought any food to work with me though, so having a mueller fat free just now and will drink a lot of water/occasional coffee all day to see if I can get to home time. local shop has nasty ham (not nice ham!) horrible flabby pink reconstituted stuff that looks like David Cameron Sad so will try to keep going.

scales didn't arrive yesterday after all. maybe today and then I can publically humiliate myself and get really competitive and arsey! :)

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 09:53

Toilet problem solver = Psyllium husk capsules, Solgar are my preferred brand but any will do. I get them from Amazon but health food shops sometimes sell them. Chemists tend not to unless you go to Boots and buy their Tony wotsit diet fibre but it's not in capsule form.

The oat bran is supposed to keep constipation at bay but i take psyllium capsules as well.

You definitely need to "go" less on this diet anyway.

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 09:54

:o @ David Hameron :o

Snapespeare · 12/01/2012 10:15

I take psyllium as well, mine are from Holland and Barrett. :) - I take two in the morning with all my myriad of other supplements. Lots of water as well please! flush yourself out!

David Hameron! it's enough to put you off of pork! Wink

Sazzy32 · 12/01/2012 11:09

Hi all
Am new to this and after advice.
Yogurts, am confused by what i can and can't have can someone enlighten me please.

Also need dinner ideas as i only eat limited meat (chicken and gammon)

You all sound like you are doing so well, and it certainly encourages me.
Have put my figures into the website and my true weight should be 7st 10 am currently 9st 6 (opps) so a bit to lose.

Have read online and if i am right i need to do a 5 day attack, does that sound about right?

Thanks

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 13:29

What height are you Sazzy32? I think that the rule of thumb is one attack day for every 10lbs you need to lose. 5 days is the mac for an attack though.

Snapes sorry if I'm teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs but I thought that Psyllium shouldn't be taken with other supps as they get absorbed into the fibre and out again? I take mine in the evening because of that.

drywhiteplease · 12/01/2012 14:40

Holland and Barrett here I come! Thank you ladies.
Welcome sazzy32 good luck .

Sazzy32 · 12/01/2012 14:48

Hi

I am 5ft exactly so not very tall!

Breakfast seems to be the meal i will struggle with most, yogurt, but is that enough?

Thanks

Dastardly27 · 12/01/2012 14:51

Hi Sazzy

Right, reading from Monsieur Dukan's book about 'the rules of phase 1 (attack)'
Less than 5kg to lose - 1 day on attack is enough.
Less than 10kg to lose - 3 days of attack.
To lose 10-20kg - 5 days of attack
More than 20kg to lose - 7-10days, after taking medical advice (covering themselves with that)

Protein only during attack phase. All meat and fish except lamb, pork (I still eat bacon), duck, beef ribs, some sort of horsemeat (in France so in all supermarkets!lol), beef tongue (yuk!), smoked ham, no tinned fish in oil, goose,

0%yogurts. If they have fruit bits in then only 2 per day. Someone else is better to answer about the yogurts as I don't know what's available in England. 0% fromage frais, skimmed milk.

Diet drinks. Have to drink about 2 litres of fluid per day.
1.5tablespoons of oat bran per day. Again someone in England can tell you where to buy this.

If it moves, eat it!lol Good luck!

Alouisee · 12/01/2012 15:10

Apparently the book and the diet are being constantly updated and tweaked so if you struggle to do 5 protein days then I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.

The Galette is my breakfast of choice at the moment, I ran out of eggs this morning and just had the carton egg white so I used 2 egg whites and the regulation 1.5 tbsp of oatbran to make it. I'll be doing that again, it was thinner and more crepey than the whole egg galette that I've been making. I actually even think it would work as a wrap for cold meat and salad.

Sazzy32 · 12/01/2012 15:50

Thanks for these replies, am heading out to shop in a bit so am prepared for starting tomorrow ( glad theres no horsemeat in englanf though!!)

Am a fish fan so that will be playing a big part in this diet i think!

Snapespeare · 12/01/2012 15:51

oo! I didn't know that alouise - that might explain something! Blush

I shall switch and see if there is any improvement in that area

drywhiteplease · 12/01/2012 17:28

snapes I share your pain!

WentworthMillerMad · 12/01/2012 17:48

drywhite I think I was watching a lot of prison break when I joined mumsnetters!
I made my meatballs with very lean minced pork (not allowed on
Dukan but lower in fat than beef). I mix in a
Bowl with lots of garlic, cumin and coriander leaf, squeeze fresh lime. Add one beaten egg white, maybe 2. Roll into balls and bake in oven for 20 mins (don't fry as adds fat and they fall apart.
On a PV day I add a ragu (home made) and salad.
I think I am the only person on the planet who's bowels improved on Dukan! ! Maybe it's because I stopped eating bread and pasta. I don't think it agrees with me.

Dastardly27 · 12/01/2012 18:12

Oh thanks for that meatball mention. Need to take mince out of the freezer for tomorrow and my PP day. What ratio are you all doing, those in cruise? I read that Dukan is favouring 1:1 at the moment.

sallyanne06 · 12/01/2012 19:03

Hi...Can i join? Grin

iam on day 4 of attack....I did great with this diet last summer. Going from 9st 5 to 8st 2 in only 5 weeks!! I stopped abruptly the day I went on holiday in July. I had burger king at the airport and loads of choc on the plane.....and lets just say I didn't stop pigging out for the following 6 months!! Blush

Hence Iam now 9st 5 again! Confused

Anyway...last time I cheated a bit...I basically stayed on attack for the WHOLE 5 weeks! Hmm...Except for twice a week when I would eat out with friends for lunch and have a baked potato with tuna mayo and colesaw..and once a week a cup cake!

It worked anyway. But this time i don't want to be as hardcore as attack for 5 weeks..so iam starting the veg on saturday. BUT iam having my baked potato tomorrow..so I hope it still works for me like last summer.

Anyway...I have been having 2 bacon and scramble egg for breakfast...is bacon a big no no?....weighing myself tomorrow in gym so i will hopefully see a loss from the 131pounds i was a couple of days ago.
