Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 31/08/2011 10:22

Oh dear 3steps pulled muscle maybe? Hopefully nothing more serious than that! Sounds like the right thing to avoid strength stuff for a while and stick to cardio.

Contemplating which JM DVD to do today, as have my mum over to help with the DCs. Have not been doing so much JM recently as have been going to gym at work and not seemed to have had much time while at home to do DVDs!

threestepsforward · 31/08/2011 17:04

I think you're right Jacksterbear. I can still do everyday stuff using it, so I'm guessing it can't be more than a strain...but I'm so impatient for it to be better, wail etc. Grin

Hope you managed to select and do a JM DVD - this is where the separate circuit and 20 min aspects really come into their own isn't it, when you're strapped for time...

I'm on the Groundhog Day of BFBM again. I do really enjoy it though and will have to watch I don't pull/strain something else in the kickboxing circuits as I end up really chucking my legs and arms around, a tad too enthusiastically at times!

Will check in tomorrow Smile

Jacksterbear · 31/08/2011 18:15

I did - L2 shred, which I hadn't done for ages. Managed 2kgs for the first set of v raises and was v impressed with myself; had to go down to 1kgs for the second set though! Those damned v raises are the only thing in the whole of shred/NMTZ that I can't do with 2kgs! I will conquer them! Grin

Well done with BFBM. Smile

BalloonSlayer · 01/09/2011 10:04

Hello again everyone!

The old thread dropped off my "I'm on" well duh! Obviously it was just full and so I lost touch.

Gosh it's hard keeping exercising during the holidays, isn't it?

For the last 3 days I have shredded before breakfast, having not done much for the last 2-3 weeks. Blimey. Knackered.

I have not gained any weight due to my lack of activity however, and am longing to get to the shops to buy some smaller jeans . . . my size 12s are so loose I don't need to unbutton/unzip them to go to the loo, I can just pull them down still done up! And I did manage to get a 25" waist measurement a week or so ago!

So I am still SO grateful to Jillian and all the wonderful support from everyone on these threads.

Well done everyone, it looks as if we are all doing wonderfully!

Off now to get a shower as still sat here in my sweaty stuff.

Jacksterbear · 01/09/2011 10:49

Welcome back Balloonslayer! Smile

VenetiaLanyon · 01/09/2011 14:33

Hello folks, I'm back too Smile; hope you are all well and had lovely summers.

Shredded for most of my holidays, but still put on 4lbs in 3 weeks as I ate and drank an obscene amount..
Tried out NMTZ and BFBM last week (just 4 circuits), but didn't feel as worked out as I do when I'm shredding, even though it was for more minutes. My abs did really hurt after NMTZ, however; couldn't work out which move it was that killed them, so might have to try again at the weekend.

Lack of satisfaction is probably because I was rubbish / ineffectual at the new moves, however. I scuttled back thankfully to Shred L1 today, with weights, and the MFP diet starts today - anyone else?

Jacksterbear · 01/09/2011 16:31

Welcome back too Venetia and don't worry about the 4lb, it's not v much and you'll get rid of it easily in a few weeks on MFP! I am on maintenance mode on MFP at the moment (not logging every day, just every few days or so), as I'm hovering between 9st0 and 9st2 which is where I want to be.

Oh and didn't have time to say in my earlier post- get thee to the shops for those size 10 jeans Balloon!

threestepsforward · 01/09/2011 23:13

Late check-in here...

Jacksterbear well done on those V-raises with any type of weight! I've never yet managed both sets with 2kg...circuit 2 of Shred continues to be my bete noir!

Good to see you Balloon and Venetia Grin

Venetia, I echo Jackster, 4lbs over 3 weeks of holiday is pretty good going, and very easily remedied I reckon - BFBM anyone lol?

Balloon, down to the shops with you - jeans await you! I'm kind of stuck between 10 and 8 (depending on the shop). 10 feels too flappy and 8 too snug - where is the size 9 I ask you???

Have been doing BFBM due to arm injury, but did L3 Shred tonight due to time constraints....well I barely broke a sweat Hmm. I did use my lightest weights because of arm, but makes me wonder if we have to just up, up and up our game...where will it end??? Was pondering this in the bath and all I could think of was that Kenny Everetty impression of Rod Stewart in his leopard skins where he just gets ever bigger and floats off into the skies...

[I have drunk alcohol obviously - off work this week....]

Night all x

threestepsforward · 01/09/2011 23:15

Kenny Everett obviously...

knottyhair · 02/09/2011 10:45

Hi everyone! Back from 2 weeks away - managed a few Jillian sessions, and did a few mountain walks but have put on 1.75lbs in 2 weeks - not too bad! Also managed to face my fear of heights and completed a Go Ape style course in Austria, and my forearms still ache from gripping my harness so tightly! Sounds like everyone is doing really well! Back to Jillian tomorrow - need to do a food shop and unpack today, and was in a right old muddle this morning as DS was back to school today. BTW, I'm on MFP as "lucasmum" if anyone else is and wants to be friends? Have a good one!

OP posts:
threestepsforward · 05/09/2011 10:36

Welcome back Knotty Grin

Glad you had a good holiday. I did Go Ape in Bracknell a while back, it was lots of fun!

Was away for a great weekend and not sure how much Jillianing I will be able to do this week as the house is being re-pointed. I don't relish the thought of anyone peering through the window at me exercising! May not be a bad thing for me to take the week off and let any strains have a good rest, although I will miss it!

Hope everyone is doing well Smile

Jacksterbear · 05/09/2011 15:52

Welcome back everyone, hope you're all invigorated and ready to start the new term of shredding hell joy! Grin

NMTZ circuits 1,2,3 and 5 just done. A good combination for the shoulders and abs!

DS started school today (YR) so now I will be at home 2 days a week with just DD, no more excuses!

knottyhair · 05/09/2011 16:43

Threesteps, hope your aches & pains are improving. Jackster, hope your DS enjoyed his 1st day!

Did a L3 Shred this morning - bits of it are still really hard! I do like it though Smile. Managed 3kg for the strength moves (the dumb bell cleans are too easy though, need a heavier weight for those), and 2kg for the cardio with weights. Still don't like the jumping lunges, I'm much slower than them!

OP posts:
VenetiaLanyon · 06/09/2011 09:31

Hi all,

Back in the shred habbit post holidays here - shaking of the rather enjoyable "false feeling of lethargy". Grin

Knotty, I'm v impressed with your 3kg weights; I will never get off 2, and have to use 1kg for some moves, like the squats with a v raise and the boxing. And I'm definitely still with Anita on the jumping lunges...

Jackster, hope that school went well Smile; I tried a few circuits from NMTZ and BFBM, and the moves were difficult, but I didn't feel as tired as after a shred; might be because my form is rubbish.

Threesteps - nice excuse for this week Grin - hope you get a good rest

Ballonslayer - Well done on your comeback; I've managed to squeeze into my new size 12 jeans (down from 14), and know 'tis a good feeling.

knottyhair · 06/09/2011 10:25

Morning all! Just did NMTZ all the way through - first time in ages and it was tough going! Definitely a different kettle of fish from doing 4 circuits with cardio. "Enjoyed" it though, if that's the correct term Grin. Venetia, great news about the size 12s!

I am also back from holidays - hello all! I have astounding news.... In 2 1/2 weeks in Italy and Switzerland I managed to lose a kilo Shock. I wasn't aiming to drop anything (dont really need to, although like lots of people I wouldn't mind a few pounds magically falling away from my arse/thighs...) I did try and eat much like I do at home (avoid bread etc, lots of fish and salads) as I find this easy to stick to without feeling deprived. We were self catering so I had yoghurt and muesli for breakfast, mainly nice hams/charcuterie with fresh tomatoes/cornicons/olives for lunch and then out for dinner in the evening. I definitely drank more than usual, but didn't go made until the last few days staying with friends in Switzerland where I was def in party mode. Had an icecream every day, although stuck to sorbets - and ate biscuits too.

What I did do was plenty of exercise - DH and I took it in turns to go for an early morning run (too hot at any other time.) Not too long (around 6 miles) but pretty hilly. On the day that I wasn't running then I either did 6W6P (on the iphone) using a 2 litre bottle of water as a weight, or pilates.

We had a hugely social weekend and then 24 hours of travelling, so yesterday I was completely shattered. Did a very short run and 45 minutes of yoga and it was a big help. Thinking of doing NMTZ tonight, but after nearly 3 weks away from 'proper' weights I think it is going to kill me!!

Some great results here - keep it up all.

febes · 06/09/2011 21:29

I haven't done any Jillian for over a week. I started the c25k programme so have been doing that in the evenings and have had a lot of work on as well as a cold last week there just hasn't been time. I do have the day off today but am running tonight. I really want to do some NMTZs as I don't want to lose my tiddly muscles!! I'm worried I'll be sore for my run but its all good in the end so I'm going to go for it.
Losing weight on holiday is super impressive but it sounds like you stuck to plan for the most part- good on you!!!

notyummy · 06/09/2011 22:09

I chickened out of NMTZ! Did L3 Shred instead and it was quite tough. Running at 6am tomorrow morning so I thought if I did NMTZ at 7pm tonight then i might be too sore for running tomorrow.

febes · 07/09/2011 02:21

I did circuits1-5 of NMTZs it felt good but I was quite pleased to finish. I think running today should be ok but tomorrow I'll probably be sore!!

knottyhair · 07/09/2011 08:24

In the words of the Pointer Sisters, "I'm so excited" Grin. Just noticed on Amazon that Ripped in 30 is being released here (UK) on 27th December! Have pre-ordered my copy and can't wait! Is that incredibly sad??

OP posts:
notyummy · 07/09/2011 08:38

Not sad at all Knotty- will add it to my Amazon wishlist and hopefully it will arrive for my birthday!!

VenetiaLanyon · 07/09/2011 09:24

Envy re losing weight on holiday, notyummy. Not fair!

Hurrah re Ripped in 30! Merry Xmas! Smile

I am intending to lose 7lbs before mid December; anyone else got a weight loss target?

chocolateshoes · 07/09/2011 20:09

hello everyone, found you all at last - too long on holiday means Shred has become a nightmare and I'd lost my support group! Have tried really hard to get back into the routine and since Saturday have Shredded L3 - 4k every day but am finding it very hard work. Good news about Ripped in 30 - will also order for my birthday Notyummy. Are you a Jan girl too? I still really need to do something about my jelly belly. My legs and arms are toned but my stomach just won't play. I suppose I'll have to do some sort of diet as exercise alone doesn't seem to be working. Any tips?

febes · 08/09/2011 03:06

I had a go at level 2 of 6W6P this morning and OMG it was awesome but HECTIC!! It is so fast paced and JM shouted at me the whole time. I think I love it though.

VenetiaLanyon · 08/09/2011 09:32

Welcome back, Chocolate, and admiration for the 4k weights....

Drat, I had a foot treatment for my old injury yesterday, and the doc prescribed "no pounding at the gym" for a week. Haven't tried 6W6P yet; is this all abs, and would I be able to do it with a dodgy foot? Any other cunning suggestions as to how I keep fit?
