Hello again Smile

Hey Knotty - well done on the 'Shred with an audience'. The only creature who sees me in action is my dog. I hear him sighing loudly when I'm huffing and puffing away!

Well I did BFBM this afternoon . It went quicker than I thought but I sort of missed the weights aspect. Think my plan for next week is to do a mix of all my Killian dvds so I get a little bit of everything!

Monday imminent Sad, where did that weekend go??

McPie · 14/08/2011 17:53

Thank you for your concern, it does worry me being breathless but I feel perfectly fine when I start to excercise and it seems to have gone, the fact that I have an ever increasing list of foods that are causing me intolerance issues, chocolate being the most recent Sad,does not help.
I struggle to lose weight without a low calorie diet but end up having no energy to do any excercise plus I normally end up coming down with a stinking cold after a couple of weeks. I have come to the conclusion that I would rather be bigger and toned but healthier than weigh less, I just want to look better in, and out, of my clothes Grin

McPie · 14/08/2011 18:03

Ahhh just noticed why the concern it should have said dont feel breathless like I did before I started!!!! Doh!!!
threestepsforward Im glad BFBM has the sweat loads factor Grin, I will get started on it in the morning.

chocolateshoes · 14/08/2011 19:52

have taken all day to post was so shocked by McPie's Shreddage! Well done!

My calf is twinging again which is depressing as I thought it was almost better. So have stopped all jumping jacks for now and am just doing the core & abs bits of NMTZ. Was quite shocked by JM today - she really annoys me in the cooll down bit of NMTZ when she jokes about not being supple blah blah that I did the coll down by myslef whilst watches the 'bonus' section which I thought might have lots of useful tips. Er no...basically she has been sponsored loads by OralB to advertise electric toothbrushes and that's all she talks about!!!!! Shock I feel really quite let down!

chocolateshoes · 14/08/2011 19:53

oops - can you tell I've been on the Slow Gin cocktails and have mis spelt 'cool' twice in 2 different ways!

chocolateshoes · 14/08/2011 19:53

and Slow - I mean Sloe

threestepsforward · 14/08/2011 21:17

McPie - phew!!! What's in a word eh lol! Good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes Smile

Grin at Chocshoes, that does sound pretty shameless of our Jillian actually. I wonder how much she was paid for that She does look good though doesn't she? She reminds me of a less butch and more handsome version of the butch one in Third Rock from the Sun, if anyone remembers that!!

threestepsforward · 14/08/2011 21:21

ooo McPie - there's a part in BFBM where she says 'if this ain't hurtin', e-mail me and let me know' (or words to that effect). I reckon you should e-mail her and tell her how many Shreds you've done in the last week, I reckon she'd faint!

Night all Smile

McPie · 15/08/2011 12:12

Well things did not go quite to my plan as I ended up doing gardening after the first two level 3's so tea was later. I could not see me being able to complete both of them so swapped with this morning and tried BFBM, done both kick boxing and first cardio and still managed to work up a sweat. I like the warm up and hate the cool down, I cant seem to grab my foot and even when I did I couldnt feel any stretching.
So in 8 days I have completed the 30 day shred [need a proud of myself smiley]. Scales are out the window as they say I have put on 1 1/2lb since last monday even though the tape measure shows pretty decent inch loss (14 1/2 if I include questionable thigh position measurement)

Jacksterbear · 15/08/2011 13:18

I'm still Shock at this McPie!!

Just done L3 shred and it has nearly killed me (and that was just once, let alone 4 times!!! Confused). I don't know why, after 4 months of shredding, it now seems harder than ever Sad!! DH says it is because I am expecting more of myself and pushing myself harder, hope this is true!!

Hope you are having good energetic starts to the week, everyone.

notyummy · 15/08/2011 13:25

Yes, 4 times is hardcore!! DH and I do 2 back to back and are the McSmugs of Smugville.....and now I discover this Grin. To be fair, I don't think I could actually do it because of time (unless I got up at 4 30am or something) because of work/commute. How are you fitting it all in McPie?

No JM for me since NMTZ on Saturday. Did nothing yesterday (just a weeny bit hungover....) Crosstrainer tonight I think, plus a quick Matt Roberts circuit (I am sometimes unfaithful to Jillian Shock - I did Billy Blanks Bootcamp last week!) Running tomorrow, so perhaps back to Jillian on wednesday.

Whitershadeofpale · 15/08/2011 16:09

Anyone tried Ripped in 30 yet? I unlocked my DVD player especially to have a go Blush. I'm really enjoying it it's the same vein asthe shred but I think more intense. I also have yoga meltdown which I like to do on days when my muscles are killing me.

knottyhair · 15/08/2011 18:18

Whitershad, I really want to have a go at the other Jillian DVDs that aren't released over here yet. Am contemplating buying another DVD drive for my PC just for this purpose. Can't unlock my DVD player unfortunately Sad.
Had to go out early this morning but did manage 4 circuits of BFBM before I went. Haven't done it for ages as my friend borrowed it and became rather attached to it! Did 1, 3, 6 & 7 - still find 6 really hard!

knottyhair · 15/08/2011 18:18

Sorry, I mean Whitershade Blush.

notyummy school holidays and crappy weather have helped but all in all it works out as around an hour in total and the kids (4 yo twins and a 10 yo) are happy to jump around on the wii or watch cbeebies or whatever other crap they love and I hate. They ask if I'm going to do my shreddage, think I will stick with that term for the other DVD's as its less embarassing than being asked out and about if I'm going to do the banish fat one!!!

worldgonecrazy · 16/08/2011 08:34

I don't understand the DVD regions thing - will an American DVD play on a UK laptop?? How do I unlock my DVD player if it isn't already unlocked and how will I know if it is??

I did Level 2 of the 6W6P as Level 1 wasn't working up enough of a sweat. It's a lot harder and I had to skip several of the exercises as my knees can't cope with lunges - it's not a question of working through the pain, they actually start making grinding/crunching noises. Level 2 was much more fun but I still don't feel that I'm sweating/losing as much weight as with Level 3 of the 30 day shred.

threestepsforward · 16/08/2011 10:08

Morning all!

Worldgonecrazy I really struggle with the pace of L2 6W6P. I focus all my efforts on trying to keep up, and think my 'form' suffers as a result. It's not my favourite at all, and I never feel good after doing it!

I'm not sure about the US DVDs, and how you can check if your DVD can be/is unlocked.

Inspired my McPie, I did L1 followed immediately by L3 of the Shred yesterday...which I haven't done for ages... I feel it today!

knottyhair · 16/08/2011 10:10

McPie, re: NMTZ cool down, I find I have to put my hand down and really lean forward to feel the quad stretch - HTH. Alternatively, I think you could do either of the other quad stretches she does (the standing one or the sitting one?). worldgonecrazy, you can google "unlocking DVD player" and if you can find your model, you can get a code I think. I couldn't find my model, so I'm don't really know, I'm sure someone will be along who knows a lot more Blush.

I've just done 4 circuits of NMTZ (with cardio inbetween). Is it just me or does anyone else find the round kicks at the end "awkward"? I think I've got weird hips!

OP posts:
febes · 16/08/2011 10:22

Yes very!

knottyhair · 16/08/2011 10:26

Glad it's not just me Smile!

OP posts:
febes · 16/08/2011 10:46

Sorry had to post and run as I was skyped before.
Yes round kicks are awkward as are the pelvic thrusts. I think my hips are clicky.

threestepsforward · 16/08/2011 21:25

Good evening followers of Jillian Grin

Well it was a double-dose of Shred for me yesterday, and NMTZ today. I like NMTZ. I added some cardio to it again today, but even without that it still feels like a bloody good workout!

Knotty I think I know what you mean about those side kicks at the end, almost feels like my leg and hip socket might go their separate ways... Is it the angle do you think? Luckily that hasn't happened!

My worst bit of the DVD by far are those big static lunges pushing your arms back after the surrenders. Steppiny crescent?! I can never tell what she's saying and am feeling like crying at that particular point in time!

Tomorrow will be a dose of BFBM - I reckon I'll enjoy that more as I've done it once through and will have a better idea what's coming up...

Can I just take the opportunity to shake some pom poms and whoop a bit for all the great stuff people are doing on this thread

knottyhair · 17/08/2011 09:18

threesteps, great pom pom work Grin! I've just done 4 circuits of BFBM - I find it easier to do about 30 mins of Jillian every day, otherwise I get fed up. All power to those of you doing double (or even more!) doses! Having said that, today will be the last day for a few days at least - got to get up and get on with packing marathon tomorrow, then off on holiday at silly o'clock on Friday. Jillian is coming with us, but as we're in an apartment for the first few days, not sure how much jumping up and down I can do - may have to "tailor" the routines a bit! Have a good day everyone x

notyummy · 17/08/2011 09:54

Good work everyone! I did L3 Shred on Monday, 8 mile run yesterday and am doing L2 6W6P (kill me now....) tonight. Trying to fit a fair amount of weights based work in before I go on holiday on sunday evening and have no access to them. Will be taking stuff on iphone that can be done without weights (pilates, yoga, BFBM and 6W6P - may try 6W6P using a bottle of water or something similar.) Will also be trying to do lots of running, although as it is 34 degrees where we are going, I may not be up for one of my 12 milers!!

notyummy · 18/08/2011 07:58

I did L2 6W6P last night, and it was officially pretty hard. But at least it doesn't last too long. Feel alright this morning - when I first started doing it (even after plenty of shredding) I found my legs and bottom were sore - despite it allegedly being for my core!

Rest day today. Running and pilates tomorrow.
