Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

Hi all. Paxton, I'm someone who about 18 months ago viewed exercise as a real chore, and I had to make myself do a Davina a couple of times a week at best, with the odd spurt of gym attendance which always ground to a halt after a few weeks. For me, it was a combination of finding something I really enjoyed doing (Jillian of course!) and also realising through using MFP just how important exercise was if I wanted to continue to eat the way I like to! Something just switched in my head when I was losing weight and I decided that I would continue with Jillian after I reached my target weight, which I did in September last year. I'm still enjoying it... well, most days anyway!
Did L4 Ripped again this morning. Definitely prefer it to L3, but my god, my legs were like jelly in the 2nd set of burpees. Felt slightly disturbed when Jillian yells "oh are you crying, I DON'T CARE, OPEN YOUR LEGS!!!" Notyummy, I'm not surprised you're stiff today! Hope the run helps.

knotty - DH was sniggering at that bit last week....but he did what he was told! Wink

worldgonecrazy · 24/02/2012 11:38

For some reason my husband likes watching me do the down-dog push ups. I have no idea why??

chocolateshoes · 24/02/2012 11:47

lol wgc.

have pretty much finished Ripped now but am def carrying on with it as I still find it really hard. Its that 2nd circuit especially the cardio that kills.

Well done everyone keep going it is nearly the weekend (althoughj there's no rest even at the weekend in the world of JM!!)

CHST · 24/02/2012 12:00

checking in for day 2 of level 2! You guys are making me scared about levels 3 and 4!

threestepsforward · 24/02/2012 13:22

Well done chocshoes!! I'm with you on sticking with it after the 30 days, I'm thinking there will be looooots of room for improvement here!

CHST shade your eyes from the L3 and L4 talk! You'll be absolutely fine! I have to say it is a challenge, but actually knotty reminded me that I did feel really knocked out by Shred at the beginning, so I guess it's the same. Did you feel a shock moving up from L1 to L2 Shred? that kind of thing...

Hope the aches have subsided notyummy.

Paxton hmm that's a tricky one. I remember someone saying that they factored in exercise just like they would brushing their teeth, as in those 20 mins (if you're doing Shred or Ripped) are non-negotiable. It does help I think.

Knotty that bit made me Shock as well. Like the fact you go from that to quotes from Ernest Hemingway!!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Day 3 for me later this afternoon.

chocolateshoes · 24/02/2012 13:30

does anyone else feel so exhausted after JM that they can barely raise their arms to wash their hair afterwards!!!!!!?????

notyummy · 24/02/2012 13:41

The aches pretty bad still! I am alright when I get up and moving, but getting up after siting down is interesting! And hence I have wimped out and done 45 minutes on the crosstrainer (a hard programme, but not as effective as a run IMHO) insread of an 8 mile run...

DH and I have both reached the stage where exercise is just what we do. We would never go away without exercise kit etc. On a Saturday he always says 'what phys are doing this weekend then?' so we can plan our activities. We don't often exercise together - once or twice a week at most - but we know it is important to each other so will move things around to make sure we both can do it. DH gets really grumpy without it, partially because he has a form of arthritus that is helped by exercise so sitting still makes his back seize up.

threestepsforward · 24/02/2012 14:31

It's great you both motivate each other notyummy. I feel exactly the same, twitchy if more than a day goes by without some form of exercise. DP has gone off the boil since his workload went crazy. I think he may be planning a Shred level this weekend. I'm desperate for him to get on to Ripped Grin

Chocshoes L4 really gets the arms doesn't it! I have had my hair cut today so will be washing it later after Ripping. He has managed to fix most of the damage I did by cutting it myself and called me a loon Blush

chocolateshoes · 24/02/2012 16:05

did you do that pony tail haircut thing 3steps? Was very tempted myself but DH talked me out of it!

threestepsforward · 24/02/2012 17:13

I did chocolateshoes. I think they key is not to do it if you already have layers. If you're hair's all one length it should be fine. Everyone's success stories sort of drew you in didn't they? Thankfully I'm sorted now and have learned my lesson!

L4 day 3 done! Felt a lot better today, yay! Still gargling my heart in the cardio bits, but didn't need to stop to catch breath. I used 3 kg for everything apart from the supermans, where I used 2.5 kg.

Hope everyone has a great weekend Smile

notyummy · 24/02/2012 17:32

2.5 is good for those threesteps - they are tough.

DH and I are attempting L3 Shred followed by L4 Ripped tomorrow.....

Happypiglet · 25/02/2012 15:02

Done Day 2 of L1 RI30. I still like although found it harder today as I ache from yesterday!
I just find Jillian fawning over 'Bee' a little off putting especially when she gets her to talk into her chest.....
Not yummy that combination sounds evil...hope it went/ goes well!
Well done three steps I am not looking forward to the higher levels!

notyummy · 25/02/2012 15:48

Well done Happy!

The combination was pretty evil tbh, although I would say no harder than overall than the Ls3 and 4 Ripped back to back we did last week. Think the cardio is harder for L3 Shred/L4 Ripped together, but the strength isn't. Managed 5 kg for everything except weighted supermen, and used 7kg for the clean and press.

CHST · 25/02/2012 17:22

not yummy, I am Shock at your weights! Wow! I am on 2kg he he!
Happy if you find her annoying in level 1, I won't tell you about level 2!!!

Did day 3 of level 2 today!
Anyone else admire themselves in the mirror afterwards? Blush I love watching the change. I was so happy when I stepped on the scales today, doing shred, my weight didn't really change, even went up at the beginning. Started at 131 lbs. Now after shred and 10 days of ri30, I am 126.6. My aim is to get under 126 so I am under 9st so I am really happy

Happypiglet · 25/02/2012 17:44

Well done CHST! I started at 130lbs and I am down to 125 and am happy at that. Again anything starting with an 8 stone for me!
I don't find her annoying just a little sick making....! Although I pray for the day she could bounce a 'quarter off my butt'!!
I hate the level 3 shred cardio on the last circuit... Jump squats and rock stars yuck....And again not yummy those weights wow
DH has bought me a new set of dumbbells today with sensible weights (1,2&3kgs) rather than my odd Davina ones. So now I can up the weight a bit to 3kgs on some moves.
He knows how to treat a girl!

notyummy · 25/02/2012 18:48

You ladies are much lighter than me! I am tall though- 5ft 10. Am about 10 4 at the moment and I am happy up until 10.7. I aim to keep by BMI in the mid 21s and my body fat around 22%. I have learned that I look pretty good at that weight and can maintain it whilst not depriving myself. I would still like a smaller arse tbh, but nothing short of starvation or surgery is probably going to get me there! Am happy at a size 10.

Jacksterbear · 25/02/2012 18:52

Happyp that's cool re the new weights. I hadn't noticed her Bashira obsession until somebody pointed it out on here, now it's quite grating in both Ripped and (I think?) 6W6P too.

I am another one maintaining at around 8st 13oz! Seems to be the popular common weight around here.

Nothing for me today and a few glasses of bubbly as friends staying... hic... maybe a Ripped L1 tomorrow....

chocolateshoes · 25/02/2012 19:49

is it week 2 Ripped where Natalie turns up instead of Basheera and Shelly gets promoted to advanced? Find myself wondering what happened to 'B'. These small irrelevancies keep me going through the circuits Smile

McPie · 25/02/2012 20:17

Yup its week 2, I think Shelly does a far better job, like Anita does in shred and killer buns.
I have a head fug and a cough which always happens when the weather does its quick changes so my energy levels have been hit pretty badly. I have dropped down to doing shred and ripped on alternative days untill I can shake this crappyness.

threestepsforward · 26/02/2012 10:33

Happypiglet, CHST and Jackster congratulations on the weight success stories, that's fab!

Hope you feel better soon McPie.

Wow again at notyummy's stamina. The thought of doing Ripped L3 or L4 plus anything makes me want to cry a bit Grin

Day 4 of Ripped 4 done! I will make it, yay!! I think J doesn't like Shelly as she reminds her of a cheer leader and apparently has been complaining that J's workouts don't work her hard enough. Perhaps J and B had a tiff, hence Shelly's promotion in week 2? Doof-doof-doof-doof-do-do-do-do (

ThePaxton · 27/02/2012 12:50

chocolateshoes I also wonder where Bee is? Natalie who replaces her looks a bit like a rabbit in headlights during it Smile Just finished L2 of Ripped. Also did some pilates yesterday, its the 10min solutions pilates perfect body and I normally only do the stretch (was recced by someone on here I think) but I did the arms and tummy ones. Blimey it was tough. Arms ached today so will try and do them a few times a week after Jillian. Hope everyone has a good day

Jacksterbear · 27/02/2012 14:38

Ooh ThePaxton I was one of the recommenders of that Pilates DVD it's tought on the arms and abs isn't it! Well done on completing Ripped L2.

Also had a break from Ripped today to do BFBM, as had a bit more time to exercise. Have not done it for ages. Not quite as awful as I remembered - perhaps my fitness levels are improving slightly?!

Loving all the speculation about JM's various minions. Grin

Hope everyone had good weekends. x

threestepsforward · 27/02/2012 14:52

I'm another who has that Pilates DVD thepaxton, the stretch section is great isn't it? I always do that after a JM session. Also did the other sections when my knee was bad and they certainly aren't easy, the arms stuff in particular...

Rest day for me today. Hope everyone is having a good day whatever they are up to Smile

I think I am post 1000 Grin - should I start a new thread?! I think I should...hang on a mo...
