New thread for us WW devotees.

Blondes is head honcho but is busy showing off her tan.

Me - I am the resident statistician - weekly updates for thread losses.

So jump on in and post away - we are having a summer challenge to keep us on track.

On phone but quick HURRAH to wallaby and hmc !!

hmc · 12/07/2011 10:08

Blimey - so many losses since I last posted! Well done whiter, daclaireh, lola, sheep, Bartlett, bandgeek, and hatti - brilliant!

Glad you had a good weekend Blondes despite the weather being a bit off

Thanks for all congrats on reaching goal Grin

Norky - I'm with lola - I never have points left over at the end of the day! How do you do it ?!?! (impressed)

Euphemia - are you doing any exercise? Best way to get metabolism moving again imo. Also - eat little and often (try not to go more than 3 hours without a snack of fruit or something else healthy and low in points) as that helps fire up the metabolism too...

Shoulders - size 8? WOW! - that's great.

Am currently decamped in summer house in the garden trying to study. Have workmen here doing new kitchen and knocking through walls. Tis hell! Still quite tranquil in here......

NorkyButNice · 12/07/2011 10:20

Well done hatti - you're doing brilliantly to almost lose a stone in 4 weeks!

hmc I get 38 points a day which is why I have so many leftover. Once I'm down at 29 like you gold members Grin I'm sure I won't have!

Good luck to everyone with WI coming up!

vnmum · 12/07/2011 13:14

well done bandgeek and hatti

I've gone abit renegade this week, all good intentions seem to have disappeared. I have come on early though so that could be some of it. I'm not worrying about it though, I have my summer ball on friday night so I am just going to stick to 29 a day from Thurs (WI) and just presume i use all 49 weeklies when i'm out on friday, stay on track and just see what happens.

Took my car into the garage yesterday and ran back with DD in the jogger, it was about 2 miles and i don't normally run with the jogger so found it quite hard, especially as not been for a run for about 5 weeks, and it now feels like i have injured my hip flexor. I'm hoping its just stiffness but it hurts to even try and lift my leg Sad

ledkr · 12/07/2011 16:25

Im sticking to it like glue but using a few weeklys most days,is that ok?I also feel like its not working but i am due on Friday so cant tell, feeling a bit despondant im ok with the diet itself but not if its not going to work Sad

JoJoBaldwin · 12/07/2011 18:19

Hello again ladies, nice to see so many of you at goal. Well done!

Not been here for a while as have been on holiday. As you can imagine I'm a bit scared to get on the scales at the moment! Going to be really good for a few days then weigh-in on friday so hopefully the gain won't look as horrible.

I did over-indulge hugely on holiday. First week was on nice dinners in nice restaurants, but the next week was fast-food hell in Butlins. Honestly, trying to track down a salad in that place was mission impossible and i needed lots of wine in the evening to recover from the madness of the day.

The last weekend of the holiday though we stayed with some very civilised (and hugely rich) friends and were introduced to sensible delicious eating. They hired a chef for the weekend (!) who cooked loads of things from the Yotam Ottolenghi cookbook "Plenty". I really must get that book because the dishes were amazing - things like baked aubergine with lemongrass cremefraiche topped with pomegranate seeds. Just wonderful.

I just tried one of his salads today and can report a delicious low pp find for you:

Watermelon and feta salad

Place largish cubes of watermelon on a plate
Crumble some feta over (I used 30g)
Thinly slice some red onion and put on top
add a few basil leaves
Drizzle with 1-2 tsps olive oil ( this is probably the element that we can cut out without it hugely affecting the overall result, but I used it today to see how the salad is "supposed" to taste.

With olive oil I estimate 4pp? 2pp without?

wizzler · 12/07/2011 19:44

Well done to Hatti and all the other losers.. welcome back Jo jo .. it seems ages.. .
Shoulders.. well done on the size 8.. I am very Envy

Littlefish · 12/07/2011 21:09

I've just got back from weigh-in and am delighted to say that I've lost 3lbs. That means that I've only got 2.5lbs to go to reach 4stone loss (and reach my summer challenge).

Today I've also had my gym induction and aim to go twice a week.

Littlefish · 12/07/2011 21:10

Well done Wizzler. Fantastic weight loss.

androbbob · 12/07/2011 21:55

Well done to the losers!

Reporting in with 1lb loss from yesterday! Oh yeah! I also have very red arms and neck from being on the park yesterday - oops!

SpringFollows · 13/07/2011 15:25

Congratulations to all the losers this week!

I am checking in to also report a 1 pound weightloss. Got my first sticker- a 7 pound weightloss sticker! 10 stone 11 now. I am pretty happy with that. I am aiming to have a 2 pound loss next week if possible.... going to try and stick to the 29 and limit my useage of weeklies as much as possible. I find that pretty hard- but have realised that i waste 4 points easily a day on morning coffee, and have finally realised that i just cannot have wine, i really do have to have G& slimline T.

My goal for this week;

  1. spirits and diet mixers only
  2. Track track track!

Hope you all have good weeks and good luck to the Wednesday WI crowd!

SpringFollows · 13/07/2011 15:28

Just read JoJo's post properly- your friends hired a chef??!! Wow, that would be simply wonderful! I'd love to do that. Mmm. The watermelon salad sounds good.

Hi all, I'm new to this thread.

I used to go ww and did really well, lost 2.5 stone.

Unfortunately, most of it has gone back on after I stopped going. So am here to try again.

I haven't done the new PP system though and thought I would just stick to the old one.

Hope it's OK to join in.

herdingcats · 13/07/2011 20:37

well done wizzler littlefish androbbob spring Korma

Wecanfixit · 14/07/2011 09:39

Thanks for the invite Rob good to know others or on the same path makes counting and tracking alot easier !, will sign in again at the end of the day to see how all of you are doing. Have good healthy eating day!!!!!!!!!!!

NorkyButNice · 14/07/2011 10:42

Well done wizzler androbbob springfollows korma herdingcats ... phew! Lots of good losses!

I lost 3lb at my WI yesterday, so am pretty pleased. Am finding it easy to stick to, and the ProPoints plan seems to teach more of a healthy way of living than the old points system so hopefully I can stick with it this time!

Have got the in-laws visiting this weekend so will have to go into my weeklies I think (lots of wine is always consumed when they are around!).

supercal · 14/07/2011 11:44

Hi all

I threatened said a few weeks ago that I would soon start WW and join this thread. Am now reporting in.

I lost 1.5 stones on WW about 8 years ago - without following it strictly, so lost that in about 6 months. I have tried doing WW a few times since then by myself at home, but always gave up after a week or so.

I am determined though that something has to be done, as I have high BP and have just been bollocked my doctor for not making enough lifestyle changes and losing weight, particularly as my cholesterol levels are now high, higher in fact than they were last November Blush. I have four months to change things round before I see him again, as he is threatening me with putting me on some medication for the cholesterol, which I don't want. He wants me to have lost nearly a stone by the beginning of November.

So, I signed up to WW online last Fri and will weigh-in for the first time tomorrow.

I have a LOT to lose. 5.5 stones if I'm going to be really healthy. Gulp.

Have to say, I am really pleased with the new PP plan. It is so much easier, particularly as I can track everything using my iphone app. Where I fell down before was having to do everything manually and carrying all the points charts and notebooks around with me, or putting them in later.

Two question-

  1. I am going to start 30 Day Shred tomorrow. Any of you do that too? If so, how many activity points do you track for it?

  2. How many points do you track for a 200/250ml glass of fresh juice? I found the point chart for this rather unhelpful.

SheepAreSuper · 14/07/2011 12:45

Well done wizzler androbbob springfollows korma herdingcats and norky. You are all soooo good.

Welcome Fairenuff and supercal.
Supercal, I too did weightwatchers some years back on the discovery programme). It was fantastic.
I'm on week 5 of the new propoints plan and weigh in tomorrow but am 9lb down so far.

  1. I'm also shredding. I'm only on day 6 of level 1 and the aches have now subsided. Go with it though, day 2 and day 3 are the hardest as you will ache but after that it gets better. It's fab and quite addictive.
As for points see how you feel. To me it's 20 minutes of high intensity excercise and I point it at 4. I base this on how I feel doing the excercise. I also step, c25k and do some climbing, all of which I actually find easier that Shred. Let us know how you get on.

  2. Checking the online tracker, I'd say 3 for the juice.

vnmum · 14/07/2011 14:14

well done korma, herding and norky
welcome fairenuff and supercal

I gained again this week, 2.5lb. I expected it, i'm still within 5lbs of my goal weight so not worried. I have my ball tomorrow (fancy dress) where alcohol may be hard to track (it's not done as strict pub measures and if they like you, you get larger ones etc) so I am just sticking to my dailies and forgetting about my weeklies this week, thinking that they will all be taken up by friday night anyway. I will take a gain or sts next week on the chin and then knuckle back down.

I did walk 2 miles today so am hoping an increase in exercise might counter any overindulgence on friday.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/07/2011 17:35

i need a fast weight loss - just booked weeks holiday in ibiza - leave in 2 weeks

Collision · 14/07/2011 18:43

DH says my boobs are shrinking! YAY!!!!

benbon · 14/07/2011 21:42

weigh in this morning.. 1.5lbs loss so very pleased! 11 lbs away from goal which currently seems like miles! off for 2 weeks all inclusive to ibiza on sunday so wont be on in a while

JennyPiccolo · 14/07/2011 22:25

Can i sneak in? Was on the slimming world tread but fell off the wagon and never returned. Am on week 3 of ProPoints and it's been okay, i had a big loss of 10lb in the first week then a gain in the second (I know, i know) of 2lb after T in the Park.

I dont think i went over my weekly points, but i kind of stopped counting as i had no internet access. I didnt go mad though, i tried to have proper meals where i could and fruit. I didnt eat any junk food or drink any beer/wine/cider (just gin and slimline that i sneaked in with me). SO i'm hoping that it was mostly water weight as i really drank near to fuck all water all weekend.

Fingers crossed things go a bit better this week!
