a pound or two...its not like you will immediately look like an elephant! Try it, Gamble with a couple of pounds!

I gained 3.5 lb over Christmas, have lost 5.5 since. Maybe the 5 weeks of christmas indulgence helped focus me more, or boosted my metabolism, or just shifted me out of complacent boredom - who knows! But that normal eating has done me the world of good.

JoJoBaldwin · 28/01/2012 14:22

Feeling virtuous as I did my first outside 5k run today. It's a lot harder than the treadmill! Really cold sea wind made it quite difficult to breathe at first and my legs felt like lead, but me and the girls got through it and even sort of enjoyed it.

Made a yummy quorn sausage and lentil casserole for lunch, so all going well so far.

wizzler · 29/01/2012 20:55

Well done JoJo.

I have been back at WW for 3 weeks, lost 3 lbs, then 1.5 lbs and then put half on. This week Ihave knuckled down and tracked everything, so I will be gutted if I dont have a good result.
Was on 29 pp last year, and am now on 26... finding losing those 3 points a real struggle

JoJoBaldwin · 30/01/2012 10:52

Well did my first WI for a couple of weeks and am dead on 12 st. Feel like this is my first proper WI of the year though, after all the chrimbo nonsense and last week was my first week of proper tracking and getting back into exercise.

So next week has GOT to be a loss and put me under 12st or I will seriously lose momentum.

Ran for 20 mins flat out on the treadmill this morning so a good start even though my legs still hurt from the 5k on saturday.

HattiFattner · 30/01/2012 10:55

I was Most Virtuous Monday through Friday lunchtime.....
Even friday night was "budgetted" for in my points.
Sadly Saturday and SUnday were not, so I put on a pound. Boo hiss. Must DO Better!

maxpower · 31/01/2012 13:16

went away this weekend and that, coupled with having the lurgy, meant the diet went out the window. put on 1lb but I can accept that. I'm feeling better and going to get back on track this week.

BalloonTwister · 01/02/2012 14:10

Hello! Can I join in? I started at WW 3 weeks ago at 14st 10lb and when I went to WI this morning weighed 14st! Am v v pleased with myself. HOWEVER...tonight I had a work do and it's bowling followed by a curry at a buffet type place....can anyone give me any tips on keeping my PP at a reasonable amount? Or should I just bail out?

Littlefish · 01/02/2012 14:49

Welcome BalloonTwister.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far.

Don't bail out of your works do. Use it as an opportunity to try out your new found will power and food knowledge. You need to find ways to incorporate PP into your normal life. For the curry, I would suggest chicken tikka with salad (NOT chicken tikka masala!) with boiled rice. Avoid the poppadoms and starters. fill half your plate with salad, then a quarter with rice and a quarter with chicken. Don't go back for second helpings even if they area available. if necessary, take your toothbrush in your handbag and clean your teeth as soon as your meal is finished. At the pub, drink either a spirit with diet drink (vodka and diet coke, or gin and slimline tonic), or diet coke.

Good luck! let us know how you get on.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 02/02/2012 07:30

I finally went back to class on Tuesday as things have got very out of hand Sad. Am 1 stone 11lbs heavier than I was in July.

What's done is done though so a new start. On the plus side I am a couple of pounds lighter than this time last year. And I have lost 3 stone in total. Saw some old photos of me yesterday and they were truly horrendous.

Difficult week as DS woke up unable to walk on Tuesday which was all very scary, but I have tracking. I was trying to stick to dailies to leave weeklies for the weekend but have eaten 18 of them yesterday, had run out of shopping and going down with a cold so felt a bit crap.

So today I am going to stick to daily points . Have taken Lemsip, shopping coming and DS was able to walk again by last night which was a huge relief.

HattiFattner · 02/02/2012 08:56

I think you either comply absolutely in your first week back, none so pure as the converted and all that - , or, like me, backslide after a day or two. I think its normal to eat when stressed - something to do with cortisol ? ANyway, welcome wynken! Im trying to save my weeklies for a party on Saturday. Think I shall go for a long walk with the dog today to get a couple of extra points.

mrsdt · 02/02/2012 09:44

Checking back in here after safely having baby joseph 2 weeks and 2 days ago....No idea what i weigh just know I need to start losing the baby weight!!!! Wish me luck!! Going to back read this thread now for motivation!!

HattiFattner · 02/02/2012 09:47

I dont think you can do WW until 6 weeks after baby...at least thats what it was when I had mine. esp if you are BF.

Congrats on birth of baby!

mrsdt · 02/02/2012 10:27

: ( at 6 wks til I can start again!!! Altho this is bubs no 2, I forgot how weird it is that after you have baby you are still fat ha ha at least before you had an excuse to look chubby!!!!! Bf means that I am unlikely to fit into any prepreg tops for mths too as my bazookas are giganormous!!!!!!! Mirrored wardrobes in the bedroom arent exactly kind either...must remember to only ever get dressed in the dark as seeing my huge boobies, saggy tummy and wobbly thighs is not proving to be a motivational factor to get back on ww..is driving me to the choc and biccie stash instead! : ) My ligaments in my pelvis have gone beserk and stretched beyond repair almost so I can't even walk and have to crawl around the house never mind contemplate exercise...drs prescribed ha ha paracetamol and rest...rest??!!! with a newborn, a 5yr old and no partner at home during week??? I shld just give up on ww and wade into the biccie tin!!!!!! At least after 6 weeks of reading on this thread I will be full of ww info and motivation!!!

HattiFattner · 02/02/2012 13:44

They'll give you extra points too on WW for BFing, - for now I would just relax, feed baby and watch those pounds start to slide off (as long as you are not keeping yourself awake with cake....which is why BF did nothing for my weightloss...) - I think getting BF established fisrt, then look at weight loss.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 02/02/2012 16:01

Congratulations Mrsdt! But ouch as well, sounds very painful. I'd have to cover the mirrors. Not keen on mirrors, this deranged looking middle aged woman keeps staring at me from them .

I am trying to get my first week enthusiasm Hatti but struggling a bit. The thing with DS on Tuesday was quite scary and am really worried about one of our cats. The vet said she either has gingivitis or FIV. Back to the vets tomorrow.

However, have resisted the urge to eat yet more biscuits and am having a quiet moment with a milky coffee from milk allowance, grapes and the Mr Fothergills catalogue. Which is about to end as DD coming down the drive.

Littlefish · 02/02/2012 22:13

Welcome back Wynken and congratulations mrsdt.

I'm pleased to say that I've lost another pound and a half. That puts me back at my pre-Christmas weight, and back at exactly 5 stone lost since starting WW in October 2010.

My new mini goal is to lose half a stone by Easter.

Anyone else got a mini goal?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 03/02/2012 07:41

Wahey Littlefish, that is fabulous ! I'd like to have lost 12lbs by Easter to get me down into the next stone down bracket .

HattiFattner · 06/02/2012 12:12

stayed the same this week - that would be all the wine at friends birthday party then. Blush

Onwards, need to show some movement on the scales next week, so planning to do some more exercise this week and no alcohol (ish).

LolaLadybird · 06/02/2012 14:11

Hi Ladies - I would love to re-join after a long absence. Did really well last year from April through to August but then lost momentum after an accident in August which left me spending a lot of time on the sofa and feeling sorry for myself. Managed to keep the weight off for a while but 11lbs have gone back so re-joined WW online yesterday.

The good news is that since Jan I have been back running which I couldn't do for 4 months - I find it so much easier to lose when I can earn extra points through exercise.

maxpower · 06/02/2012 19:38

need to weigh in today but won't get to the scales, so I'll have to do it tomorrow. went for champagne tea at the Dorchester at lunchtime - stayed within my daily points limit (just) but I can only have fruit this evening.

maxpower · 07/02/2012 09:15

lost 5lb! yay Grin

HattiFattner · 07/02/2012 10:34

well done - im jealous!

Littlefish · 08/02/2012 15:36

Welcome back Lola.

Well done manpower. Great weightless.

I'm not feeling very positive this week. I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow afternoon so I don't know if I'll feel like weighing in - it all depends what the consultant says!

androbbob · 08/02/2012 21:04

Hello all

reporting in with a long awaited 2lb loss which gives me my silver seven - yippee!

Keep you chins up in the cold weather girlies.

Littlefish - good luck for the hospital. If you miss a WI then that is ok really in the grand scheme of things.

OP posts:
LolaLadybird · 08/02/2012 21:42

It is so much harder in the cold weather I think. That said, I have started with in iron resolve and three days in its going well although I know its early days. Am going to weigh in tomorrow (online) as although I started on Monday, I want Thursday to be my WI day as before.

Hope the hospital goes well tomorrow Littlefish.
