Good for you wizzler

Just got back from the gym and feel soooo much better for it. Skin feels instantly clearer and smoother, mentally I feel stronger. It's amazing what a difference just one session makes. Was a bit worried about how I'd get on after nearly 3 weeks of eating cheese and chocolate with no exercise but I coped. Did 5.5 kilometres on the treadmill in the very slow time of 50 minutes but it's good psychologically to have a 5k under my belt for this week.

Had tangerine and banana for brekkie, looking forward to bns soup and homemade bread roll with butter for lunch. Hope everyone has managed a good start to the week x

HattiFattner · 09/01/2012 11:02

well I faced the music - gained 3.5 lbs over Christmas season. That would be the cheese and the pate and the wine and the choccies then!

Didnt stay for the meeting as it was heaving! But resolve now to stick to my points and in the words of Tim Gunn, make it work. My goal is to be down to 13st by end of July. Thats about 2 st. ANd down to 11st by next Xmas.

MizK · 09/01/2012 15:08

Hi ladies, may I join please? I had my first meeting on Thursday last week, and weighed in at 11 stone 12. My goal weight is 9 stone 13.
I'm finding it OK so far, but being a SAHM I am surrounded by temptation all day.... I put on weight after having a baby and not returning to work - its lethal being at home :( I have fallen into bad habits and snack waaay too much - so am struggling but v determined that I am going to clean up my act!
So a big hello to you all, am off to read through the thread to become acquainted with you all..... :)

bishboschone · 09/01/2012 17:04

Hi mizk , we are similar stats with similar goals . Also have ds and Sahm .. Good luck Smile

JoJoBaldwin · 10/01/2012 09:02

Commiserations on the gain Hatti but well done on facing the music. I am delaying the scales until friday as I am too much of a wuss to assess the Chrimbo damage just yet!

Welcome MizK I am around the same stats as you and bish with DS and SAHM. It is hard being in the vicinity of the fridge all day. I am finding it easier now DS is in nursery 15 hours a week - time to go to the gym for one thing.

Did OK yesterday. 31 points eaten and 5 points exercise (an estimate based on 5k run/walk and an additional walk in the afternoon). Most of the pointage was late in the day. Ate too close to bedtime and woke in the night with horrible cramps so rather tired and not really feeling like going to BodyJam, especially with this swollen tummy. But I will, hopefully it will help the cramps.

One weetabix, tsp sugar, coffee and tangerine for brekkie today. Haddock mornay and veg for lunch and not too sure about dinner yet.

JoJoBaldwin · 10/01/2012 18:42

Actually did face the music and stepped on the scales expecting to have put on at least half a stone over Christmas and New Year, but was pleasantly surprised to see I've only put on a pound!

changeforthebetter · 10/01/2012 18:48

Why is it so hard to get back on track again after Xmas My willpower just seems to have buggered off and my stomach has rather enjoyed all the extra points, thank you very much Sad

Anyone else struggling after Xmas?

Collision · 10/01/2012 19:04

OK. I AM BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!

I lost the plot after my holiday in Italy in August and never got back the gusto to lose weight.

I started again yesterday and am weighing in tomorrow evening.

Have given up booze for January.
Drunk more water.

Had 2 weetabix with sk milk for breakfast with fruit.
Had chicken and veg (no carbs) for lunch followed by yoghurt and fruit
And the most delicious M&S stuffed mushroom thing for 6 points with veg for dinner.

I feel full but could manage chocolate WHICH I WILL RESIST.

I went to Zumba last night and want to lose a stone for Easter.

MissWooWoo · 11/01/2012 10:09

it is hard isn't it changeforthebetter? old habits die hard and all that.

Just back from my first weigh in since christmas and have put on 2.5lbs so not too bad all things considered but not great. Have been tracking for the past couple of days so feel like I am getting back into the swing of it, you just have to get your WW head back on don't you? I wonder how much the average weight gain is over christmas and new year?

JoJoBaldwin · 11/01/2012 16:17

MissWooWoo I once put on a stone in a week over Christmas, so rather happy I've only put on a pound this time round. Nice to have the WW head back on again like you say.

Had bit of a derailment this morning - hubby took DS to nursery this morning and came back via the shop with some rolls and a chocolate bar each. Of course I should have "saved" it but just couldn't so had an egg roll and chocolate bar for brekkie. Oh dear.

Then went to Zumba for a knee-trembler of a workout though so all is not lost. Done 29 points already today though and haven't had me dinner yet! Glad that I haven't succumbed to the "I've had one bar of chocolate so might as well give up and stuff my face all day" mentality. So that's something.

benbon · 11/01/2012 16:22

hi bishbash i started ww in feb at 15stone and reached my goal on the 1st september at 10.10 , got down to 9.13 at the wi before christmas but put on 2.5 over christmas so its a loss of 5 stone for me, now a size 10/12 which i have never been before :) but struggling to get back into it!! want to get down to 9.9!!

herdingcats · 11/01/2012 16:33

Littlefish- I weigh in on a Wednesday .
Bishbosh- I started at 13st6in on 16/3/11 and got to goal on 10/8/11. That was 11st1 , but I now weigh ( as of last week) 10st4.5. I have been at that weigh give or take 1lb since September.
Need to get back in the groove as I hope to get to my personal goal by Feb, that is 10st

bishboschone · 11/01/2012 16:59

Thanks herding , well done..how many sizes have you lost?

bishboschone · 11/01/2012 20:09

Well done benbon , again how many sizes have you lost?

TheOriginalNutcracker · 11/01/2012 20:15

Just saying hello. Have just been to my first ever ww meeting. I was 11 stone 10 1/2 pounds.

I was quite confused at the start of the meeting, but it is all a bit clearer now. The only thing i don't get is, in the tracking book, where it has all of the numbers at the side and says quick track, what does that mean ??

androbbob · 11/01/2012 20:28

I am a bit cross! Went to WI fully expecting to lose 2.5 or 3lbs according to my scales (I know I know but they have been right every week) and she breezily said thats 1lb off well done! Well those scales were wavering from 3.5 to 4 before settling at a 5. They felt wobbly as well as if on even on the creaky wooden hall floor. I suppose I should have asked for a re-weigh but was too shocked and the queue was huge! I have been great this week was well - so on track. Well it better bloomin show up next week or else I will be after a new class!!

Hope everyone else is still full of resolve!

androbbob · 11/01/2012 20:32

nutcracker - the quick track is just so you can see at a glance how much you have used / have left for that day. Say you are on 29 points, then I cross out the other ones upto 71 (!) and draw a line under the 29 / 30 blocks as that is what I have a day. Every time you right down what you have had and point it, then cross the squares off, so if you have 3, 2 and 1 PP for breakfast - cross of 6 squares - I tend to work down from 29 to 0 as I can see how many I have left for that day. Then do the same for snacks and lunch and dinner and you can quickly track where you are are at that point in the day. HTH

herdingcats · 11/01/2012 20:47

Bishbosh- I have gone down 2 sizes, 3 in some places.
WI this week showed a half lb lost, but like androbb said, my scales at home showed 1.5 off, which was my Xmas gain. Will see next week.
Pissed off tonight though as I've just been told DH is going to miss our summer holiday, my birthday, DD's birthday and next Christmas . Fan bloody tasticSad

TheOriginalNutcracker · 11/01/2012 21:04

Ahhh thanks Androbbob. I think i get it now lol.

Collision · 11/01/2012 22:40

herdingcats - where will your DH be?

Went to WW tonight. Weighed in at 12st 12.5 lbs which is truly shocking!

I need to be motivated and strong so I might pm some of you for more inspiration.

JoJoBaldwin · 12/01/2012 08:16

How much had you put on Collision? At least you are back with a vengeance now.

Didn't do well points-wise yesterday. 42! Seemed to go on snacky silly things (had a picnic with rolls and crisps and had a pointy breakfast too).

Off to the gym in a mo for a run after a brekkie of banana and grapes so getting off to a good start today. The weekend is going to be pointy as we are staying with relatives for a birthday party. It was supposed to be at the end of the month thus giving me a good 2/3 weeks of no social engagements to derail me, but they have brought it forward. Have done lost of exercise in the hope of at least pulling of a sts but looking forward to a good couple of months of healthy eating and no drinking afterwards!

herdingcats · 12/01/2012 12:56

Collision- he is going to Afghan, crap

androbbob · 12/01/2012 21:18

Collision you are welcome to PM me and we can exchange email / PM's / texts to keep each other going.

Collision · 12/01/2012 22:23

Well since Sept 4th I have put on 10.5lbs!!!

I will never be a skinny minny! Ever. Am not sure I really want to be either. WW want me to be 10st 7lbs so I have some work to do.

I will pm you androbbob.

Have been good today. Lots of fruit and veg and water.

changeforthebetter · 14/01/2012 08:06

Just can't keep away from food at the moment. I am stressed and food is my answer to stress Sad I made a healthy tea but then started munching chocolate biscuits. I should give them away but they were an Xmas present to us all and I feel mean giving them away when the kids like them and don't stuff their faces with them. I have been fine up to Xmas but just can't get motivated now. I feel like that about life in general tbh so may be I have just got a dose of January-itis Grin
