I can never understand the not eating enough business . If they are selling you a diet that tells you to eat 29 points a day to lose weight and I do that I expect to lose weight . I stick to my 29 a day without the extras unless I really need them,( haven't yet). I am doing the couch to 5 k programme too and ran 5 k yesterday and will do Tom and sat so I bloody better lose this week.!

Collision · 18/01/2012 17:39

WI tonight!

Had a fab low point meal last night

aubergines
courgettes .........both sliced and fried in 1 cal oil in a hot pan.

Made a point free tomato sauce and then layered the veg with the sauce. Added 80g grated mozzarella (6PP) so the whole meal was only 6PP. Shared with DH and got an extra portion for lunch tomorrow. Served with veg/salad. Whole meal was only 2PP each!! Result.

I had better lose tonight.

androbbob · 18/01/2012 21:17

Woohoo lost 2lb this week! That makes 6 in total - so aiming for the silver seven next week, by doing 27 PP as that is what she worked out for me. Just got to be good at the wake after funeral tomorow, hoping there is nothing I like! It will be at lunchtime so planned a fruit breakfast and a light low PP tea with minimum snacks! Also going to the gym beforehand and will to 30 mins on the Wii in the evening.

Hoping for some good losses this week!

2lbs off which is great!

bishboschone · 19/01/2012 14:25

Androboob, can you tell me your weight and height , (( don't worry if you don't want ) I'm just debating if I need to eat less . Thank you

herdingcats · 19/01/2012 17:17

WI last night, lost 1lb. That is my Xmas gain gone, just want to do my 3 more by half term.
Well done those who lost this week

Littlefish · 19/01/2012 20:23

Bloody hell! I'm over the moon. Over the last 2 weeks I've lost 5 lbs Grin. That means I'm now only 1lb above my lowest weight so far. My mini target to lose another stone from now until Easter is now firmly in my mind.

Well done to everyone who's lost weight this week. What a great start to the new year.

androbbob · 19/01/2012 21:13

Well done collision, herding and littlefish - some great losses going on!

MizK · 20/01/2012 11:33

Congrats on weight loss collision herding and littlefish
I lost 4 pounds at my weigh in last night which makes 7.5 in two weeks, am so pleased :) I know it will probably slow down now that I'm getting used to eating less, but I'm well on track to my goal. I am eating all my 49 weeklies but not activity points. I feel like I wouldnt be able to stick to the plan without those weeklies because I'd feel too deprived and just end up sacking it off!
Hope everybody is having a nice day and all have great weekends.....

TheOriginalNutcracker · 20/01/2012 17:39

I had my first weigh in on Wed, and I only lost half a pound. Gutted

I am struggling to stick to my 26 points a day too and generally going about 4 points over.

maxpower · 20/01/2012 20:22

Hi, can I join you? Just signed up to WW on line as I'm determined to shed some weight. I weighed myself for the first time in about 3 years this week to discover I've gained 10lbs (in my defence I've had a baby in the middle of that Wink ) when I was already overweight before then. I'm going back to work next month and I think that'll help me regulate my diet a bit better as I'll have to plan rather than just keep lookingin the larder every time I pass it Blush Any tips/advice would be very welcome. From what I can see, fruit and veg are the way to go!

GravityDefier · 21/01/2012 10:38

May I join you please?
I just posted the same thing on the other weight watchers thread but I didn't know whether the same people are frequenting both threads.

I have been trying to do several diets last year, including counting calories and my fitness pal but I have been feeling incredibly deprived.
I joined a friend and went to a weight watchers group when I was home in Germany over the holidays and it's working quite well.

I lost 2kg (4 pounds) in ten days in Germany and another 100 gram in my first week back in Scotland, but that week I was sick and had a few really bad days, so that's ok (even though it's disappointing, of course). But for 2.5 weeks I think a weight loss of 2.1 kilos is not bad.

The scales in both places were different but I am now at about 68.9 kilos (my weigh in last Tuesday), which is 10st 11.9lb.
And I am 5.58ft.
Not sure how much I would like to weigh, but definitely more than 1.5 stone still to go. I am in the healthy weight range now but for my body I am way too chubby.

I can't afford to go to classes every week unfortunately so I will have to try and do it at home, including my not completely exact scales. So I could really do with some extra support

This week I had quite a few of my weekly extras but I am not sure whether I should really eat them all, seems like too much.

androbbob · 21/01/2012 21:35

Oooh the gang is growing again! Must be January! New Year New Start for some and the motivation must be flowing!

Well why isnt mine? Some one needs to give me some words of wisdom - I have 3 days to get this pound off *(more would be great but I am not greedy.....) and that silver 7 has my name on it! TOTM has been and gone and back to the gym Monday and Tuesday so should be a breeze, but ....

Kick me up the bum someone!

Goals at the moment are to lose at least 7lbs in the next 5 weeks before we go to Center Parcs and then at least another 7lbs by Easter as we have a family wedding to go to. All acheivable but I am at the weight where I struggle to get past. Once I get past this number it all goes ok, but looking back I tend to give up by early Feb! This year will be different and you lot will have to make me get there!

Need some top tips please!!

bishboschone · 22/01/2012 16:31

Well I have lost 7 pounds since jan 1st . Still 28 to go but still it's a start . I'm running 5 k , 3 times a week so I would rather liked it to have been more but hey Ho .. Well done everyone Smile

maxpower · 22/01/2012 20:03

OMG - I've been doing the points tracker online for the last couple of days and am horrified at the number of points I've been eating. I've been eating as I would do normally to try to get an idea of how much of a change I need to make and it's certainly been an eye opener! Can I ask, do you all eat with your families ie cook one meal for everyone or do you eat seperately?

I know my diet is a lot worse when DH is at home - he's a paramedic so works funny hours and is sometimes home a lot and at other times I barely see him all week. So the real challenge will be for me to stick to my points when he's around.

We spent a lovely afternoon out and about today so that clocked up a few hours worth of activity points (thank goodness!)

androbbob · 22/01/2012 21:10

maxpower - I try to cook for us all to eat the same meal, or at least some variation of the same meal, but bulk mine out with additional free veg or salad.

bishboshone - welcome and a great loss so far!

bishboschone · 22/01/2012 21:16

That's what I do too.. Will give dh chips or potatoes and I have salad or veg instead . Dd will eat a bit of both . Tonight I had curry with cauliflower instead of rice . Sounds bonkers but I eat weird things together like that and it doesn't bother me . I cook it in the microwave with a veg stick cube , it's really nice Smile

androbbob · 22/01/2012 21:31

Might try that cauli rather than mash with my cottage pie tomorrow - as long as its not too windy the following day!!

OP posts:
Collision · 22/01/2012 21:36

celeriac is great as a mash instead of potatoes.

bishboschone · 22/01/2012 22:07

I don't have a windy problem , it's really nice . Smile

JoJoBaldwin · 23/01/2012 07:21

Hello again everyone, well done on some great losses.

Have been absent for a week as had a weekend of family parties (alcohol- groan) followed by hangover then flu. Had 2 massive boxes of biscuits delivered as a belated Christmas present grrrrrrr and a crate of champagne! Needless to say I have been pissed on champagne and eating biscuits all week.

Today is back to the gym time, will be there every day this week and then have found some friends to run with once a week. Doing a 5k round a nature reserve with them on saturday so using this week to get my fitness up and start tracking again.

Welcome GravityDefier

HattiFattner · 23/01/2012 11:29

Whoop Whoop! 3lb loss this week....v. happy! 2 more lbs and I'll be at 2 stone. Big effort this week I think.

maxpower · 23/01/2012 13:35

Ok so first weigh in and..... I've dropped 4lb! Not entirely sure how I managed that, must be all that exercise yesterday. I am coming down with a cold though so my resolve to at least keep to my daily points target may weaken.

well done Hatti - that's a real inspiration

HattiFattner · 23/01/2012 14:25

nice one Max! eat lots of citrus to minimise that cold (and fill you up).

I've found that weighing everything really is important - I'm leaving my scales out on the work surface now, so I know to weigh, weigh and weigh some more. I am very guilty of guestimating. My leader has been doing a lot of talk about portion control, and I think we are all guilty of getting bigger and bigger portions.

I've bought oil spray today after fooling myself realising that glug of olive oil in the pan was probably more like 1.5 TBS than a tsp!

Surprising find of last week was that I cooked a 1.3 kg chicken, thinking it would be about 8-900g of meat - turns out it was closer to 550g, which made a big difference to the total points of my dish...pity I miscalculated on the puff pastry front - 8 points for a 4" square piece on my pie - doh!

This week I resolve to exercise more and drink more water and less wine. Wine

MissWooWoo · 24/01/2012 09:22

anyone got any advice for me? Ever since my last weigh in where I had a loss of 1lb when I was expecting at least 2.5lbs I have gone totally off track. I've just thought "oh what's the point?" I know this is wrong and that a 1lb is a 1lb but I'm totally struggling with it all.

Help!
