You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

OP posts:

It's 400mg three times a day on a full stomach, I'd recommend taking it for at least 4-5 days reg. Do gentle low impact exercise like swimming until it feels comfortable.

Hope you've had a lovely anniversary kid!

kid · 25/06/2011 08:54

I put a bandage on my knee last night (a tubular grip) but have taken it off now. I've not got out of bed yet but I know it's still sore. Think I'd better cancel my aerobics class that I'd booked for this morning.
I have some ibuprofen that the dr gave me for my sprained ankles which were also a result from the gym Blush, I was told to take one tablet three times a day. Do you think it's ok to take two at a time? I think they are 200mg.

My kids would be delighted to go swimming. I don't want to give up the exercise completely but I certainly don't want to do more damage. I also don't want to go Drs.

Onlyaphase · 25/06/2011 09:05

Kid I can feel your frustration from here! Sympathies.

DH is out playing golf this morning so DD and I are breakfasting in bed with DVDs and the labradors. Such a lovelypeaceful time.

There were no cakes yesterday at my cake-baker-friend's house - I was delighted! Lots and lots of other lovely lunch things but no pile of cakes. Then we went and picked strawberries in the afternoon at a local PYO farm, which the kids enjoyed, was outside in the sunshine and we were surrounded by the scent of ripe strawberries. It was a fabulous afternoon all round.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 25/06/2011 09:39

Kid take 2, you need the full 400mg... Might be slightly giving away my rl job!

Just typing on iPhone on way to pilates. Had 2 much wine last night so willrun home as punishment!
Have a lovely Saturday one and all - only sounds as if yours has got off to a good start!

kid · 25/06/2011 10:11

Just had breakfast so will take 2 now. The more I move around, the less painful it becomes but after sitting down for any length of time makes it hurt again when I move. So, I assume I don't to rest it.

kid · 25/06/2011 11:04

They are actually 400mg so I took the one. Been looking online (sometimes a silly thing to do) and it looks like I have a calf strain. Recovery time for grade 1 calf strain is 7-10 days, grade 2 calf strain 4-6 weeks and I don't know about grade 3 as I don't have that. I'd consider myself to have grade 1 1/2!

Looks like no gym for me this week, I don't mind though as I'll just switch to swimming instead Smile I've also got some stretches I can do to assist the healing. I think I know what I did to cause it. During aerobics, I was putting my heal flat to the ground during the warm-up, usually, I don't put the heel flat even though we are meant to. In future, I won't put it flat!

Less gym will give me more time to work on cooking healthy meals, I hope!

Looking forward to the so called heatwave tomorrow!

grinningbee · 25/06/2011 18:19

Hi all!

Kid hope that leg heals soon, it sounds very annoying and painful.

We didn't go out for dinner last night in the end as the pub phoned us to say that their new cookers weren't working (was secretly pleased!) so had low fat sausages with bacon, eggs and tomatoes for tea instead. Yummy.

Also no picnic today as the weather has been odd, but went for a mooch around a couple of places instead.

I ache in places I didn't know I had today after deciding to rearrange the sitting room yesterday afternoon. Two sofas, dining table and a big heavy cabinet. Oh, and all the dc's toys. Not to mention all the hoovering of floor that hadn't seen the light of day for a bit (plus one ginormous beastie that was behind the cabinet!). Of course, nothing looks "right" now, but I'll be leaving it for a bit.

Food today:

Weetabix
Banana
No lunch as I missed it
Home made meatballs with broccoli and a few oven chips

While we were out we got dd a lunch in a pub. She had an icecream for pud which was a cup made from cookie filled with icecream, covered in chocolate flake and caramel sauce. It looked delicious Sad And when it came she didn't want it so I had to sit and look at it melt SadSad. I very nearly cried Blush I had to explain to dh that it is the equivalent of him sitting and looking at a pint and not being able to drink it [never gonna happen emoticon!]

Mind you, ds rather enjoyed having some of the icecream! [bad mummy emoticon]

kid · 25/06/2011 18:24

cookie filled with ice-cream sounds delicious.
I refused to take DD and DS to KFC or burgerking today as I wasn't sure I could resist the temptation. Instead, their nan took them to McDonalds when I went home. I had scrambled egg instead.

I'm starving now and I haven't even started dinner yet. I think DH should do dinner tonight but thats not going to happen!
We won't be having a BBQ tomorrow now so I might just lay in the garden lapping up the sunshine while resting my leg Smile

kid · 25/06/2011 19:34

Get, change of plan. BBQ us back on tomorrow so I'm going to be eating pasta, peppers and chicken washed down with diet coke or water. Hmm, will I be able to stick to that?!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/06/2011 10:08

Enjoy your BBQ kid! We BBQ last night and had sweet chilli chicken, pork and veg kebabs and salad so I stuck to the plan!

Today we are off to the park for a picnic:
b: scrambled egg on toast
l: chicken salad
d: can't decide, will pick something up

Better go or I'll be late for zumba

grinningbee · 26/06/2011 11:45

Mmmmmm bbq's sound nice. Sadly our garden has masses of red ants (remember the ant in my pants?).

Todays food:

Weetabix and a banana
Toast
Leftover pork meatballs with broccoli or roasted veg

Hope you're all off enjoying the sunshine Grin

Onlyaphase · 26/06/2011 15:37

It is roasting hot and humid here, seems very odd as this sort of weather only used to happen in the south. I'm drinking gallons of water and some Pepsi Max (my favourite) and not eating much as it is so lovely and warm.

Ah, summer is here at last!

kid · 26/06/2011 17:53

I've enjoyed my BBQ even though the only thing I ate off the BBQ was a jacket potato! I had salad, peppers, pasta and prawns.

The sunshine is beautiful and I've turned a golden brown. Plus my leg is better!I've booked a gym class for tomorrow but I'll be taking it a little easier and will stop at the first sign of pain in my leg. I must be super fit after all for my body to repair so fast as yesterday I was still limping!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/06/2011 18:07

Glad you are better kid

I agree on the not eating much only. Its a bladdy lovely English summers day - shame it will be gone by tomorrow eve. We have had a lovely day in the park. I also realised today how much fitter I am compared with 6 weeks ago. I really did well in Zumba today - awesome! I weighed myself in the gym and its looking good despite the bottle of wine I had last night

Dinner will be another BBQ of lamp steak, veg kebabs and couscous!

kid · 26/06/2011 22:22

arghh, who left the newly stocked biscuit tin next to me?
Yep, I caved in and tasted quite a few biscuits. Oh well, will have to do some extra exercise tomorrow. Think I'll take the dog for a long walk round the park and leave the car at home when I take DC to school.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/06/2011 07:28

Oh dear Kid! Ah well, a couple of biscuits won't do much harm.

Friends popped over for a barbie so ended up drinking wine.,..durrr. Cross with myself now!

Gosh its so hot here in London. Our house was 26degrees overnight. Think today we'll have a walk around the park and find a nice shady spot to chill out in.
B: melon ff yog and branflakes (heb)
L: couscous salad
D: chicken casserole
No gym today, going the next 3 days though!

grinningbee · 27/06/2011 07:59

Good morning!

Kid step away from the biscuit tin! I'm sure you can't have had that many though Wink

Gosh it was hot last night. I thought ds was going to melt when I was feeding him to sleep, and dd woke with a nightmare, but they were both asleep by midnight

I may hoover the carpet and do some washing, but can't see much more than that happening today. Plus dh has the car with the pram in the boot, so we're kind of stuck anyway!

Food for today will be:

Weetabix
Toast and fruit
Quorn bolognese and pasta

Better go, the little man has woken up and I have last nights washing up to do. Urgh.

Btw - where is Bloofer???

kid · 27/06/2011 11:23

The biscuit tin is still in reach but I've resisted it sonar, only because it's too hot to eat anything.

I took the dog for an hour walk this morning, he was so hot even though I stuck to walking in the shade.

My poor dd has had to wear full school uniform today consisting of blouse, jumper and blazer (plus skirt if course!) I can't imagine the school will make her keep it on all day, at least I hope not.

cheese whereabouts in London are you? Probably nowhere near me but i thought i'd ask anyway Smile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/06/2011 13:38

Ah your poor daughter kid it's boiling! DD is teething bad, she has a high temp and has now slept for 2.5 hoursSad
I'm in west London: shep bush / chiswick. Where are you?

grinningbee · 27/06/2011 13:45

Good lord, the thought of wearing a jumper etc is enough to bring me out in a heat rash Sad poor thing.

We are all in shorts and t-shirts. Ds is napping at the mo, poor little sausage gets so warm.

I am currently eating cheese triangles on toast and trying not to think about the box of flapjacks and rocky road cakes in the kitchen. My fig yogurt will be soooo much nicer than those Hmm

DoD here tomorrow. Eeeeek.

Btw is it me or is it quiet here now? Have people wandered off?

kid · 27/06/2011 14:39

I've been spending an hour at a time in the garden and then coming inside to cool down. It was so hot earlier that I couldn't face eating lunch. I've just had a little bit of pasta which will keep me going till dinner time.

I watched karate kid and I now love Will Smith's son, he is just so cute.

cheese I'm in east London, near shoreditch.

I doubt I'll have lost anything this week. I've done less exercise and ate more!

redharrington · 27/06/2011 16:00

Hi can I join please? I lost a lot of weight before christmas and then fell off the wagon and have gained approx half of it Blush. I need to lose loads and have started again today after doing a big shop in preparation and having my last curry for a while on Saturday night

grinningbee · 27/06/2011 16:09

Hi Red! Everyone here is really friendly and you'll get some nice food ideas too. I have a very nice curry recipe somewhere if you fancy it. I'll let you settle in first though!

Grin
SlinkyB · 27/06/2011 16:19

Hi all, please may I join you too? DS1 is now five months old and I've completely run out of excuses to start trying to lose the excess weight . I've done Slimming World before so have dug out the old books and am refreshing my memory (and emptying the cupboards of junk). Going to try doing it without going to classes and have set myself a goal of losing a stone in 12 weeks...wish me luck! (Zumba classes start next week....aarghh!).

redharrington · 27/06/2011 16:19

Thanks. Curry recipe sounds great, now if only I could find out how many syns there are in wasabi peas Grin I'm doing it myself and weighing on the wii to keep a record. I've also just bought Zumba for wii as I am kidding myself motivated and exercise really helped me get it off last time.
