You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Gah, sorry Fuck et al, shoulda linked to the new gaff!

Plans for the weekend - harrumph. The OM is actually off work, wonder of wonders, but owing to a) the need to study and b) the need to eat like A Good Girl, plans are necessarily constrained. Going to a concert 2moz tho.

Hurrah for fetching size 16 gymwear, Cheesy! I always think size 16 is a sort of boundary, for me, between feeling ARGH and feeling MEH, if you see what I mean....

Well in keeping with my newly assiduous approach, I have planned tomorrow's doings. I shall be having, on a Red Day:

Breakfast - fruit, yogurt, Poo Bran (HEB)
Lunch - Sardines on toast (HEB)
Dinner - Shepherd's pie only with butternut squash on top instead of spud, and some cheese on top (HEA), and lots of green veg, and FROOOOOOOOOOT

Found you ! You can run but you can't hide Grin, just book marking, back later

Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/05/2011 21:28

I want pudding....

WhatTheActualFuck · 13/05/2011 21:39

Cheese...no, no list. Lists for me are a very bad thing. I develop some sort of weird lists specific OCD where I spend so much time and effort getting the list just right, presenting it perfectly etc that I don't have time to do the things actually ON the list. Would you like to come and pack for me? Please? I have wine. And mini Magnums celery and humous.

It's a pretty relaxed affair and I have access to a washing machine there so I'll be packing light plus I'm too tight to pay for additional luggage. I also have to pack for DP, though. Left to his own devices, he'd throw 2 dozen books in a rucksack and declare himself ready to go.

BlooferLady · 14/05/2011 08:35

Thanks awfully Fish - I think that must have changed in the last year or so - I remember when I did it frantically trying to find a free ML alternative (they're too big, and take up too much damn room in the fridge!) but everything seemed to be synny.

Sod this studying business for a game of soldiers - been up since 7.00. I hate it when it's a lovely sunny day and everyone will be off doing lovely things and I'll be sitting getting backache hunched over my books. I've had nearly six years of this shit! I literally have forgotten what it's like to enjoy a weekend or evening without that horrible creeping uneasy feeling that I should be doing something else...

ANYWAY enough moaning this end. I saw my ribs today! Yes, I was straining upward and sucking in my stomach so far I nearly passed out; but I have bones people BONES! Almost looking forward to the DoD! Why hello Fates: yes, I believe I am tempting you Grin

Hope you all have better days than mine planned !

Fish must like typing!

Morning Bloof Been up since 5am (kids bless 'em) Usual Saturday of washing, cooking, cleaning, rowing with DH, rowing with Kids, trying not to row with my Parents etc etc. I wish I had a thesis to do as DH manages to escape to his study pretty much whenever he wants!

Didn't get the job on the Island - probably a blessing as I think DH and I would have been at risk of killing each other!

stinkypinky · 14/05/2011 08:56

Seriously Bloof I do feel for you with the study - just focus on how good you will feel when it is finished Smile

BlooferLady · 14/05/2011 08:59

Oh Lord Stinky, that's even worse - at least when I'm studying I have peace and quiet! Sorry about not getting the island-job Sad - that sounded like the most 'mazing adventure. But you're right in a way - maybe it would have been a bit too isolating? It did sound a tiny bit like the opening scene in a horror film Grin

OP posts:
stinkypinky · 14/05/2011 09:59

The Wicker Man did not help, I must admit! I had to try for it - I knew it was a long shot, but at least I do not have to think 'what if?'

Bathrooms cleaned, children bathed, 1 row with DH, day going well!

Peace and Quiet >

BlooferLady · 14/05/2011 10:41

Ah yes, no-one wants to be hounded by 'what ifs' for the rest of their lives. I have used that very justification for eating some Reece's peanut butter cups. I mean what if I never got to go to the States and actually eat them in their natural habitat, hm? I had to try them while I could, no?!

AlpinePony · 14/05/2011 10:43

Stinks I'm sorry to hear the job didn't work out - did you at least get a visit out of it?

This whole diet thing is pissing me right off. I'm definitely a better shape, gym clothes/breeches definitely loosening and I tried on a tight dress the other day without scanties and it looked good, but the scales don't go down and my measurements have shifted a tiny fraction.

It's situations like this which make women starve/cabbage soup. :(

BlooferLady · 14/05/2011 10:48

Pony you lost like 1.5kg last week didn't you ?! How is that the scales not going down??????111!?!?!?!11?!11

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 14/05/2011 10:54

But they should go down by that much every day!

Stinky-that was cut and paste from the SW website-not me typing :)

sorry to hear of your job.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/05/2011 11:55

Stink sorry bout the job. Def worth applying for. My old ma always says what's for you won't go by you. Hope the peace at home continues!

Alpine - you'll be converting fat to muscle which weighs heavier so don't despair!

Off to the pub in a bit for a friends birthday lunch. I will be good!

duckymum · 14/05/2011 12:05

Hurrah! found you again.
Don't know what has happened this week. Was given some chocolates, and of course that box hasn't stayed closed. Then I even ate a packet of crisps yesterday as I was famished but had to wait until children were in bed and DH home for dinner.
And allowed myself pastries for breakfast. Am trying to compensate with tuna salad lunch.

Not sure how I dare show my face on here before all you well disciplined folk. Maybe if I keep coming to own up you will either kick me off, or shame me into better behaviour.

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend.

stinkypinky · 14/05/2011 13:38

Shame on you ducky

We have 6 unopened easter eggs here amazingly, and 1 open one. They all belong to DDs, and none were bought by me. DD1 gets a bit when she does a Poo in the right place "you give brown, you get brown" Grin

I seem to be in a habit now with food, and cravings have pretty much gone thankfully. Craving being slim and fit now. My 'bad week' after Easter was just not worth it (how did those eggs survive?)

Get back on the plan now ducky do not let this slide go any further. You have come to the right place, and would never be kicked off!

Alpine no visit unfortunately, as I was not even shortlisted - possibly as I have not worked as a district nurse for 16 years! I was still the best bloody candidate by far! Their loss I say! Grin

duckymum · 14/05/2011 14:56

Am suitably chastised thank you stinky. How long did it take you to get to the habit, no cravings stage?
I have managed to leave DD's eggs to her (not bought by me), but I did eat a small chocolate rabbit someone bought for DS. He is too young for that sort of thing.

stinkypinky · 14/05/2011 18:50

I have been on the plan now for 8 weeks. Been craving chocolate ever since I said the cravings were gone though!

Seriously though, some days I have not realized it is past lunch time until my tummy starts rumbling - previously I would have eaten my packed lunch by 10am.

Evenings and weekends are still the hardest times - evenings are getting better though as I have a ryvita with cottage cheese and jam for supper. Weekends with the kids can be tricky - leftovers in particular. I make all meals for DD2 from scratch in batches, and wow, some of them are just too good to throw away. Thankfully she loves her food too Smile

I find having a treat night helps, as I know I can have whatever I want once a week. Last week was soup with a roll and butter, and a small bar of chocolate - really hit the spot, and previously that would have been followed by a main and pud, and a much bigger bar of choc!

Alpine all of us want it to come off quicker, but slow and steady is safer, and more likely to stay off. I would love to wake up a size 12 though.

mummynoseynora · 14/05/2011 19:29

Evening all

soo... who out of the mummies here would like to swap a 16 month old with a death wish and a 4 year old with devil horns for some sweet innocent ones?!?!?! Grin

I have decided the 4 year old is like a beagle.... needs to be constantly stimulated and trained or gets destructive! Just ripped a ceramic letter off her wall after she'd gone to bed Angry little bloody madam... on the good side she is clearly as clever as a beagle as her reading is REALLY coming on and she doesn't even start school until september
the deathwish boy... well.... he's a mummys boy and he likes licking me sometimes?! is that a redeeming feature Wink

diet not going great thanks to child induced headaches, however I got out for a 'run' this morning... did my 1.8 mile route - shaved 40s off the time and even actually RAN the last 200 yards or so!

imagines waking up a size 12...... hmmmmmmm Grin I wish!

BlooferLady · 14/05/2011 19:53

Stinky I am finding treats helping with keeping on the strait and narrow, oddly. I think, in the past, I have told myself I'm going to be thoroughly good and have no syns, and have then got resentful and deprived and eaten Lord alone knows what. Now, I am using syns on a treat every day, and I feel no need to tumble off the wagon and under its wheels. Mostly, at the moment, on an evening gin or martini, it must be said....

Am laughing at your being lucked by your son, Nora Grin

Please kindly can someone talk to me about weigh gain in pregnancy? As I think most of you know we've been TTCing for about 15/16 months now (at the moment in slightly half-assed fashion, what with my studying and wotnot). I had a long anguished chat with the OM about it earlier today. Really, I would almost rather delay returning to full-throttle TTCing until I have lost at least 20lb. If I were to get pregnant this month, say (unlikely given previous statistics sadly, but you never know....) there is a good chance that by the time I reach birth I'd be knocking on 20 stone (I know it's not unusual to gain 4 stone in pregnancy). Leaving aside the visual horrors, surely that's an absolute recipe for every imaginable health problem, never mind a hideous labour and shattering the hospital beds?

Can those of you who have kids tell me how much you gained, from what starting weight? And do you think I should delay TTCing until I'm less overweight? Or given our troubles to conceive thus far should I not waste any time? I'm honestly all churned up about this so any advice really welcome...
