So... I know there are millions of threads about Jillian Michaels, but I have just done my second day of it and I am quite impressed with myself! Yesterday I managed to do to the end of the second circuit and today I did all three. I have just had to lie on the floor for a while in recovery though... does that I mean I am doing it right? :)

How long will I have to wait to see results though? I am quite impatient!

Morning all, can I join you too?

I have just done day 4 of level 1 of Shred and I'm enjoying it, mainly because it is only 20 mins. Like you Tibni, I have about half a stone to lose but need to tone up following the birth of DC2 14 weeks ago. I'm going to be on the beach in a bikini in 9 weeks and do not want any excess baggage!! I'm trying to moderate my portions and resist junk (loooove chocolate) but have had 2 takeaways over the weekend due to a couple of celebrations. Onto the good stuff now.

Finding the side lunges with the arm raises really hard even though I'm only using 1kg weights in each hand, anyone finding this?

schoolholidaymeanshotcrossmum · 16/05/2011 12:12

Hello all,

back after weekend away, obviously no shredding....but great success of dieting without anyone noticing and a good long walk. jobs to do this afternoon and then L1d4 tonight.

Hi Madinitials - I think the side lunges are really hard, have been known to grunt.

tibni · 16/05/2011 12:36

Good Luck Slightobsession with your interview.

RoyalWelsh · 16/05/2011 23:07

Thankyou for the luck :) I didn't get the job but I dis find out I got two more interviews which brings me to a grand total of 8 :)

I didn't manage to shred today either :s and I have an exam tomorrow followed by another long drive to Hampshire this time. Does anyone know if travelodges have DVD players? If they do I can take it with me!

I quite like the side lunges, I have to say. It's still the jump rope that kills me every time :( but I am really starting to enjoy the last abs workout.

Sorry to hear that slightobsession, but congrats on the other interviews.

I like the abs as well, though my tummy is a real disaster area after two big babies and split core abs - in for the long haul on that area.

looking forward to tonight's shred... no really I am

sasza321 · 17/05/2011 19:18

Hello ladies,

can I join in? just took the wrapper off the DVD (have been look at it for a week now Grin ) and about to do the first shred.
Wish me luck!

PollyLogos · 17/05/2011 19:31

Has anybody else had knee pain after shredding? i did four days at level one and on the fifth day couldn't contemplate it at all - my knees were really painful. I don't know what to do now as I loved the level 1, It could be age i'm 54, I really want to carry on but I am scared of doing permanent damage.

schoolholidaymeanshotcrossmum · 17/05/2011 20:26

Hello ladies

L1day5 done! wooohoo (though does it count if you have breaks? - wondering of there is some pseudoscience behind 30 consecutive days?

Hi PollyLogos no knee pain but they do creak in the warm up.

Welcome sazza321. Hope you made it through.

pinkheart · 17/05/2011 23:13

just done day 7 and am sure my arms have more definition and i can see a line showing down the centre of my stomach, could my abs be toning up? lol
i love thats its only 20 mins but my legs are sore still when i walk, except for when im doind the dvd then they done hurt Confused

PollyLogos · 18/05/2011 08:30

Pink heart I'm the same - whilst i'm doing the workout I'm in no pain in fact i feel great but a few hours later my knee joints are painful and stiff. It's definitely joint pain not muscular. After a couple of days rest they aren't hurting so maybe i'll give it a go again. (I do go walking every day too and have continued that whilst resting from Shred.

latrucha · 18/05/2011 11:08

Hi,

Can I join? I'm on day three of the shred and am doing level one. I had planned to go up to level two next week but the dvd remote has been crushed somehow. Wasn't me guv! The sound has gone too and I actually miss it!

I walk at least 30 mins a day fast and am eating less.

I've been stuck at my current weight for months. I want to lose 7kilos so I'm trying to step up a bit.

Anyone else heard that you don't necessarily lose weight with the shred but inches?

sasza321 · 18/05/2011 12:50

Hi,
my first ever shred went well yesterday, although the last set of abs almost killed me! Really enjoyed cardio although I have to invest and buy a good sport bra so I don't get knocked out whilst doing star jumps Grin

schoolholidaymeanshotcrossmum · 18/05/2011 13:52

Hi Latrucha, yes yes, come in! I think it is inches not pounds, which for me is a shame, I am an old fashioned girl who likes to see the scales move.

Glad you got stuck in sasza! I have a boob problem too - M and S do reasonable sports bras

tibni · 18/05/2011 17:07

Hello all, have to confess to a couple of no shred days. Long working days with split shifts and having new doors fitted at home the last 2 days means the only opportunity has been with the carpenter here and no way am I going to entertain him! Grin. Doors should be finished tomorrow and I think I am going to do a couple more days at 1 then move to 2 Shock

roosterroo · 18/05/2011 17:43

hi
can I join too, I have done level one now for 6 days - so far its cost me a new sports bra and some trainers - my one ones were nearly 10 years old Shock

must confess I did have a couple of days off with working full time - now what I want to know is will level 2 have me ready to drop, bit scared to move upSmile

archfiend · 18/05/2011 19:42

Can I join as well? Just done L1 day 2, judging my how my arms felt this morning after day 1 I'm not going to be able to move tomorrow... Smile . Someone tell me it will be worth it?? Please?!

schoolholidaymeanshotcrossmum · 18/05/2011 20:33

Hello Archfiend and Roosteroo

...wow we're gaining shredders as quickly as I gain pounds. A couple of nice comments on the school run made it worthwhile for me (shallow...moi?!)

L1D6 done and a 20 minute run, but don't congratulate me, I had to do it due to mindlessly eating a piece of fridge cake the size of my head.

Have posted elsewhere about plateau....do you guys have any experience you can share?

isw · 18/05/2011 20:48

Hi, Can I join in? Just did d1L1 today, have alot to loose. Am pretty active normally. It certainly got my heart rate up but I didn´t feel like I was going to die... famous last words..lets see how I feel tomorrow... feel free to laugh when I try to get out of bed tomorrow ;)

Dysgu · 18/05/2011 21:12

Hi all - I have just done Level 1 for Day 8 - although that has been over 10 days as I have missed a couple of days along the way. I feel okay as long as I only miss one day at a time!

Working full time and then having so much stuff to get done once I am home and the girls are in bed - another teacher here with reports looming and a job change coming in the new academic year - that I sometimes just can't fit it in. However, DD1 and DD2 are now both reminding me each day to do 'exercises' and DD1 has been asking why I have 'such a fat tummy' so I really need to keep going!

fraggle73 · 18/05/2011 21:30

OMG I did Level 2 after doing Level 1 for 10 days, I thought I was going to die. Level 2 is very abs orientated. Did anyone else find Level 2 hard to start off with

RoyalWelsh · 19/05/2011 11:51

I go away for a couple of days and look how busy it's got!

I weighed myself this morning and was really pleased to see that I had somehow managed to lose a pound since Sunday morning, which I was quite proud of as I have driven approximately 1500 miles since Sunday and done no exercise and may have accidentally let a whole family size bar of Galaxy fall into my mouth Blush

I will shred when I come home from my exam tonight and then I am hoping to do it twice tomorrow because then in my head I am almost back on schedule - L1 day 8, although technically speaking it should be day 9.

I am starting to be a little scared of Level 2... everyone seems to say it is unreasonably hard!

OP posts:
isw · 19/05/2011 17:53

L1D2 done!

schoolholidaymeanshotcrossmum · 19/05/2011 18:21

well done all. I'm almost ready for l2 I think, but will do l1 again tonight - then am away for a week so may need to start again when I get back because there is no chance I'll stay off the baklava

archfiend · 19/05/2011 19:24

L1D3 done! Don't think I went for it as much tonight as I have a stinking head cold but figured kill or cure!
Well done to everyone else, you are all keeping me motivated Smile

sasza321 · 19/05/2011 19:52

ok, level 1 day 3 done! I know it's too early to see results but I definitely feel that I have more energy now. Plus I sleep like a log Grin

schoolholidaymum - thanks for the tip on sports bra - got one today from M&S, bouncing around is a lot easier now!

well done all and keep shredding!
