So... I know there are millions of threads about Jillian Michaels, but I have just done my second day of it and I am quite impressed with myself! Yesterday I managed to do to the end of the second circuit and today I did all three. I have just had to lie on the floor for a while in recovery though... does that I mean I am doing it right? :)

How long will I have to wait to see results though? I am quite impatient!

tibni - I think i prefer level 2 but boy does it make me a sweaty mess by the end of it.

Just been to the doc's and have to take a few days break as I have tonsilitis.

am watching the scary 'Losing it with Jillian' on sky she is very fearceShock

awaywego I'm on a 4th floor flat and had the same worry, although the woman downstairs has never complained about noise levels before, I am aware of not being too galumphing as I walk around. What I do is wait until about 9:30 or 10 am (ideally I would do it at 7 or 8) when, frankly, noise in two minute bursts is not unreasonable. I also move around my flat so I'm not jumping on the same spot - I'll do jumping jacks by the sofa, jump rope by the window etc.

how well do you know her? You could maybe pop down and explain what you are doing, and that it will never be for more than two minutes in one go, but that if it is too much she should just let you know. Failing that, is she a bit older and with a daily routine? I know the woman next door to me goes shopping at the same time every day - if the woman downstairs to you is always out at a fixed time you could try and do it then?

pinkheart · 23/05/2011 22:02

tibni i did L2 day 1 today also. my god, my legs were absolute jelly by the end of it. i quickly done it while the childrens tea was in the oven. i think im going to need to get some proper weights though as using tins or beans and think i need more heavier weights. feel very proud of myself, and i can see another dent in my pod! somethings toning up!

awaywego1 · 24/05/2011 09:28

Thannks double.Theres a patch by the stairs that i might try to use for the cardio bits and i will try and figure out her routine. That said, i didnt do it yesterday as my legs hurt sooo much after day one-still hurting today but a bit less so will give it another go!

sasza321 · 24/05/2011 19:38

Ok, L2D1 done. Dripping with sweat. Enjoyed it though.

archfiend · 24/05/2011 21:26

Had to take a break as knee still aching, grrr. Am going to give it a rest for a bit and then try again minus the cardio. Am annoyed as I was just getting into it but I don't want to risk my knee.
Hope everyone else doing well, keep it up!

RoyalWelsh · 25/05/2011 14:52

I am dropping by to admit publicly that I have not shred since Saturday Blush in the hope that the shame will kick start me back into it.

Well done everyone else, and keep up the good work!

Slightobsession - quick quick, get back into it. Or chop-chop! as Jillian would say Grin

latrucha · 27/05/2011 15:09

10 days of level one doen here. I do feel more toned already - although that's not very hard.

I'm thinking o f going for level two next week but can I pick the brains of htose who have? There are two exercises in level one I find really hard (press up and the arm bit of those side lunge ones). I've never really got through either of those ones. Should I go on to level two? Or should I wait until everything is doable?

Shred holiday for me over the weekend. There's no way I'm doing that in front of DH!

latrucha · 27/05/2011 17:48

Curses! Half-term next week. There's no way I'm going to be able to do it with both DCs here. Sad

roguepixie · 28/05/2011 09:45

Hi , is there room for another one?

Have ordered the dvd and am just waiting for it to arrive so have been lurking around the shred threads to see if people are being successful with it.

Am on low carb thread as have finally found a way of eating that suits me, helps me lose weight and doesn't cause intolerance problems Confused. Am steadily losing weight so wanted to "up the ante" and boost weight loss, start to tone up and get fitter.

Any advice would be gratefully received Grin

ledkr · 28/05/2011 10:34

Im on another thread but thought id say hi.I am 17 wks post baby and am on L1 D9 have missed only 2 due to knackeredness. Its the jump rope that gets me still,i find it easier to do it moving around for some reason. Have lost a couple of ponds and jeans are looser.

latrucha · 28/05/2011 11:21

Horray! Another kilogram lost this week. I love Gillan Smile. It may be just my imagination, but my size 14 jeans are beginning to feel a bit loose.

ledkr · 28/05/2011 18:00

latrucha are you dieting too, thats greta well done.

latrucha · 28/05/2011 18:54

Sort of. I described what I do further up the thread. I'll cut and paste

...Shred. Eating less (trying to stick strictly to hunger and if I think I want more I wait 10 minutes to see if I really do). Eat tea with the kids at 5, only a small snack after that if I need it. Normally a small salad or yoghurt, or a couple of crackers and cheese if I'm really hungry.

I also walk 30 mins fast every week day.

I have been static for months. The only changes this week were to really take care of the eating to hunger thing plus the Shred. ...

sasza321 · 28/05/2011 21:12

Hi guys,

today should have been my L2D5 but hubby decided to join in, so I thought I would be kind to him and do Level 1 instead. Within 2 minutes we both got giggles and could not stop. So he gave up after first circuit. So much for my kindness! Although I am pleased to report that level 1 now feels really easy, so I must be getting fitter! Will not be able to shred next week as going away.

pinkheart · 30/05/2011 14:35

latrucha - i did l1 for a bit more than 10 days, maybe about 14 days or so, have been doing l2 for 7days now and it is hard, it is only now that i have mastered some of the lunge things she does. i am so unco-ordinated. i cannot do the plank twist things she does at the end though, i try but dont feel as if im doing them right. i am absolutley shattered by the time i have finished it, and she says while doing some arm and leg strength thing that you should feel as if your about to die, and my god i do!! but love the buzz after ive done it!! its addictive.

Rosietheriveter28 · 05/06/2011 15:46

Just joining this thread as Ive just started the 30 day shred. I was a bit apprehensive as I used to be very fit (18 months of a personal trainer will do that to you) but in the last 6 months have lapsed considerably - no exercise whatsoever and back to smoking again after 5 years of not :(

I have to say, whilst I am obviously only on level 1, I didn't find it too difficult. I need to up my weights (as I couldn't find my heavier ones today) and need to do the push ups properly next time though (they were always my weakness)

It's good fun though and I had forgotten how nice that post-exercise rush is :)

Got about 2 stone to lose and am hoping this will act as a kickstart to venturing back into running and giving up smoking.

activate · 05/06/2011 15:49

I did shred for 8 days and then ruined my hamstring

so am concerned about going back to it

so my questions are

do you increase your warm-up?
do you wear shoes?

ednurse · 05/06/2011 15:58

I'm starting this tomorrow! Trying to eat healthy too, currently 10st Sad and in size 12, want to get to a small 10.

Rosietheriveter28 · 05/06/2011 16:01

Activate - would it be worth googling some hamstring exercises that you could do in addition to the 30 day shred, either before or afterwards as a warm up / down? And yes, I wore shoes - can't imagine doing it without as think it would be a big strain on your joints.

activate · 05/06/2011 16:17

hamstrings are now fully recovered and I have a wide-range of stretching exercises now - thanks so much

I think my mistake was thinking my living room so no shoes required

it was, as you say, incredibly hard on the joints

Madinitials · 06/06/2011 19:44

Hello again, I have had no internet access for nearly 3 weeks (sob) but have been shredding daily so am now on L3D5 and really seeing the difference. My legs are more toned and thinner, as are arms and I have lost over 15 cms all over. It's great to see my clothes getting looser. I need to incorporate healthy eating though as still continuing with my cake habit!!

Well done Latrucha. Hello Ledkr, I remember you from other threads and our babies are about the same age.

RoyalWelsh · 07/06/2011 21:36

Hello everyone Blush

I am a bad bad bad shredder. I have avoided the thread because I haven't done it since the last time I posted, which must be about two weeks. I have also binge ate almost every day. I am uber ashamed of myself, but I am going to start again tomorrow, after I have been to Lidl and stocked up on lots of fruit and veg as I will be kicking my binging habit for the millionth time

I think I will be measuring myself with a piece of string as well this time, so I can keep track of the mm/cm//inch loss that will hopefully happen!

Well done to all of you that have kept oging!

Activate I don't wear shoes, I have a wooden floor in my living room. I also haven't used a mat as I don't have one.

Madinitials It's really encouraging to hear about your results!! You say you've lost 15cms all over, is there somewhere taht you have lost it most from? I realise I have phrased that really badly... How is L3? Was it much much harder than L2?

OP posts:
Madinitials · 07/06/2011 21:51

Slightobsession don't beat yourself up over not shredding recently, just get back on the horse pronto and stay on it!

Most of my cm lose is from my waist, my DS is 4 months old and although I lost the baby weight quickly, my stomach and waist were still holding a lot of fat and were loose. I measured my chest, waist, hips and each arm and thigh. My tummy is still not as flat as I would like it to be but I think just dropping the crap food and getting back to my hula hoop will help to make the difference.

L3 is hard and I find the cardio much harder than in level 2. More press ups too! It is all worth it to see the difference though and I'm even thinking about having 2 days off and then following it with another 30 day shred and incorporating better eating.

Will you start from the beginning or pick up where you left off?
