Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

LadyBuzz well done on your weight loss! Thats good going. Hope you resisted the cupcakes! Well, at least most of them. I would find it an achievement of gigantic proportions if I did!

Dinky that dress sounds lovely and what a bargain! I love the involvment in weddings of close friends and family. Its so much fun and so thrilling. Enjoy!

I went for a run this morning AND THEN shredded when I got home! How's that for dedication??
I was very pleased with myself.

Unfortunately, I didn't commit to the diet. Oh well. Tomorrow is Monday which means renewed efforts.

dinkystinky · 23/08/2011 18:39

Gosh its quiet on here - must be Knotty being off. No exercise or zoning yesterday as stuck on signing of deal all day - but back to exercise today with circuits of pain this morning and pilates at lunchtime.

Shaxx · 23/08/2011 19:15

It is quiet!
I think everyone is busy with kids/summer holidays etc

I've been sticking to the Harcombe way of eating for the last couple of days.
No exercise since sunday thouigh!

Hope evryone is doing well!

dinkystinky · 24/08/2011 16:23

What is the Harcombe way of eating Shaxx?

Shaxx · 24/08/2011 20:17

Zoe Harcombe is a nutritionist who believes everyone should be eating real food. She tries to get people to stop thinking about diets and to look after themselves by eating real food.
Her weight loss plan is generally low carb but has one carb and low fat meal a day and lots of natural live yoghurt. I've been eating porridge for breakfast and then low carb all day.

I shredded today but I had a friend over for the afternoon so we had a few nibbles. I didn't overdo it but back to it tomorrow.

dinkystinky · 25/08/2011 09:55

Sounds like quite a sensible eating plan for life to be honest.

Shaxx · 26/08/2011 09:37

I've actually found it fairly easy so far (but it's always like that initially, isn't it?) but it also made me rethink our family diet too.
I've bought no junk food but we've baked something every other day for snacks. The boys love doing it and its been a good activity for these rainy days.
I've got a bread maker so I've not bought any bread either.

Anyway, 2lbs off since last week but I think I'd gained some a few weeks ago.

Hope everyone else is having fun and losing!

dinkystinky · 26/08/2011 09:56

Well done Shaxx. What breadmaker do you have? We have a morphy richards one but its really noisy so we never use. Was thinking about selling it and getting a new one instead.

Am now 10 stone 4lbs - have lost a couple of the lbs put on holiday (was 10 stone 7lbs when I got back) but have 4lbs to go again to get to goal. sigh.

Shaxx · 26/08/2011 10:57

Dinky well done! Our beadmaker is a Panasonic sd 225.
It's a really good one and I'd definitely recommend it. I think most mners recommend Panasonic according to my research before I bought!

I do pizza dough in it and last week we used the raisin dough setting to make hot cross buns. Taste a lot better than shop bought! You can tell I'm a fan Grin

LadyBuzz · 27/08/2011 21:23

It is very quiet isn't it, i know i am finding it hard with the school hols to get on as often.

1lb off here this week. I really need to stop sabotaging myself on a weekend.
I lose on a Friday then eat manically for 3 days and diet for 4, this usually results in me putting 1lb on over the weekend and having that lb plus to lose in the 4 days, if i just stuck to it I should be losing 2lb a week!

So this weekend i am trying, i have had the odd treat Wine but not like i have been doing. We shall see on Friday if it has helped!

shaxx i've always fancied a breadmaker, i love the bread from them, pizza dough sounds great too, the boys love to make their own pizzas.

Well done both of you on your losses.

dinkystinky · 29/08/2011 21:56

Ooh your bread maker sounds great Shaxx. Made cook yourself thin seafood lasagne last nightb- delicious - and then cook yourself thin banana and walnut bread this morning as your baking has inspired me!

thedogwalker · 30/08/2011 16:25

Hi all, I'm back. Well not really been anywhere, DH over from Germany and it was my DS's 1st birthday, so we've had family visiting and then a few days of just me, DH and DS doing fun family things, which we've not had much time to do of late. So lots of walking, sightseeing etc but lots and lots of eating naughty things. Dreading weigh in this week, but I will be brave.

Well done on the losses of last week Lady, Dinky and Shaxx. Dinky you will lose those few pounds in no time Smile.

We've also been busy looking for another dog. It's oly been 6 weeks since I lost Tessa, but feel that I need another dog. Found a beautiful 2 year old called Zia, now just waiting to pick her up.

Hope everyone is well, take care xx
Take care

LadyBuzz · 30/08/2011 17:27

tdw thats great news hope you have her soon and she settles in well to your family.
Hope DS had a lovely 1st birthday.

dinkystinky · 31/08/2011 08:53

Gosh it is still v quiet on here. TDW - lovely to see you on and great to hear you had a lovely time with DH and DS over the past few weeks and you've got a beautiful new dog waiting to come live with you. Hope all goes smoothly.

Countdown now on to my sister's wedding so HAVE to be good now for another week. Am putting myself on the 3 meals a day, fruit only between meals, one treat (be it a glass of wine or a chocolate) a day at the end of the day and exercise everyday regime now...

justaminute · 31/08/2011 09:16

Hi folks. Amazingly after enjoying lots of lovely feta cheese, greek yogurt and honey I have managed to lose a pound. absolutely no idea how as the food was delicious, breakfast was a very alluring buffet . V dangerous as my plate kept getting refilled and the only exercise consisted of walking to & from the sunlounger to the sea for a dip Grin.

My motivation now is the sight of all the skinny bronzed bikini clad bodies - one day I will look like that! My white body stood out like a sore thumb as people were SO brown, children too. How on earth do people get so brown? I had to slap on the factor 50 to stop turning beetroot colour but we had a lovely, relaxing time.

Happy belated birthday TDW jnr. Good luck with the countdown Dinky. Your bridesmaid dress sounds like an amazing find.

hmmm feeling hungry now after thinking back to all the food... bummer!

dinkystinky · 01/09/2011 09:08

Glad you had a great holiday JAM - and well done on the wieght loss! As for people going brown so quickly - maybe they've been out there longer than you. Mind you I'm indian so have a head start Grin and my 2 boys are half indian so go brown at the drop of a hat - poor DH (who is english) is v jealous!

justaminute · 02/09/2011 09:38

Gosh it is quiet. I hope that means you are all locked in the zone Wink. I'm a sts - very happy with that - it shows the last weigh in wasn't a freak reading.

Dinky - I think I would have to be in the sun for years to show any sort of tan. If only all my freckles could join up then I would look bronzed!

knottyhair · 02/09/2011 09:39

Morning! Nice to be back, although we had a fab time. Will catch up properly when I get a minute but JAM, well done on losing on holiday - amazing! Dinky, good luck with your regime for the wedding. Knowing you, you'll be firmly in the zone. TDW, hope Zia is settling in with your family. Weighed in this morning and have put on 1.75lbs over the last 2 weeks, so not too bad. I managed a few Jillian workouts whilst I was away, and we did some lovely walks in the mountains. But did eat ice-cream, pomme frites & various other naughty bits & pieces. Hope everyone is well xx

knottyhair · 02/09/2011 09:40

Cross-posted! JAM, well done on STS Smile!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 02/09/2011 09:51

Morning all - well done on STS Jam and welcome back Knotty! Only 1.75lbs on is great - you'll lose that in no time. I appear to be a sts this week - oh well, onwards and downwards...

LadyBuzz · 02/09/2011 13:03

Morning ladies.

Well done on STS JAM and dinky and the 1.75 knotty that is good going in 2 weeks!

I have put 1lb on Angry but i am putting it down to PMT nibbling and some last week of the holiday treats including a visit to a chocolate factory Grin

My children and DH go a lovely golden brown despite DS1s red hair as they have gypsy blood in them from DHs ancestors, I do tan but it takes a while esp in this country.

Undertone · 02/09/2011 13:41

Just popping in to do a quick lap of honour! Haven't been back on this thread for months, but just wanted to do a twirl. I'm now a size 12 from a size 22. 5 stone lost over the last 18 months. Off to Portugal on Monday for first ever proper beach holiday, and I'm packing a bikini. Watch out, everyone.

Losing weight is brilliant. Well done all you guys for staying in the zone!

LadyBuzz · 02/09/2011 14:31

Wow undertone I think i came after you left but wanted to say a huge congratulations! Enjoy your hols!

dinkystinky · 02/09/2011 15:05

Undertone I am SO PROUD of you! Well done - enjoy your holiday and wow them all in that bikini!

knottyhair · 03/09/2011 09:02

Morning! Undertone, don't think I was on this thread when you were, but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS! What a fantastic achievement and have a great time wowing Portugal in your bikini! Dinky, well done on STS, and Ladybuzz, 1lb on is negligible and I'm sure the chocolate factory was worth it Grin! Am still ploughing my way through the unpacking, washing and ironing, and had to spend an hour this morning already sorting out a problem with our Sky box, so have now run out of time to do Jillian as I've still got stuff to do before I take DS to town to buy the rest of the school bits I didn't get before holiday - deep joy. Will walk to town though. Had cereal with strawberries for breakfast, Pret lunch with DS and my parents in town and making pork & fennel burgers with fennel slaw for tea later. Have a good day x
