Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

TDW, well done on STS, and not much left to lose now! Ladybuzz and JAM, great losses! But sorry to hear about your job situation JAM, that's horrible. When will you know more?
I'm off to the doctors in a bit - had enough of feeling like this and actually feel worse today. We'll see...

LadyBuzz · 22/07/2011 16:16

JAM well done on your loss, Sad about your job. Fingers crossed for you, how long will they drag it out until you know?

LadyBuzz · 22/07/2011 16:16

ooooh knotty Grin seriously though i really hope you feel better soon.

BelleEnd · 22/07/2011 19:07

Oh JAM I hope you're okay. It's such a stressful time, isn't it?

Had a bingey day today, but have managed to keep the calories low because I had two salads and binged on choc chip snack a jacks. A bit fed up- Both DCs are ill, so no Cardiff for us, though DH will still have to go- So I'll be carless with two sick children all weekend. Never mind- I think we'll dig out some DVDs, get the plastecine out and have a lovely time nonetheless. :)

justaminute · 22/07/2011 19:51

Belle can I come and play? I quite fancy a duvet day, close the curtains, snuggle up on the sofa, munch popcorn and watch DVDs. Bliss.

Thanks for the concern regarding the job situation folks. I was informed by letter yesterday and had a meeting today to voice my opinion. From that I was told they'll get back to me. So far no timescales have been mentioned but they have shown their cards and knowing the politics of my place it is only a matter of time before I'm redundant. Sod's law that for 7 years I've juggled childcare and just when my youngest is to start school so theoretically life gets easier (and cheaper) for me I lose my job. I'm off to vent my anger with a bit of Jillian.

Hope all went well at the docs Knotty - get well soon.

Shaxx · 22/07/2011 21:03

Knotty how did it go at drs?

JAM fingers crossed for you that things work out well for you. Its a tough time. Have some hugs (()). Well done on weight loss.

Belle sorry dcs are still poorly and you miss out on Cardiff but your weekend sounds lovely and cosy.

Well my day wasn't too great for the diet but it was good for catching up with a friend who told me I'd lost weight Grin.
I had coffee and cake with her and because I had no time to cook, we ended up getting pizza which we never normally do. I actually don't like pizza unless its pizza express or proper Italian restaurant but I ate some anyway.

Tomorrow we're having a bbq with friends. I think I'll be ok as since we're making the food so I can make some healthy stuff.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

thedogwalker · 23/07/2011 11:48

Jam fingers x that you don't lose your job.

I'm having a day out of the zone today, I've just had to put my beautiful 15 year old beloved dog to sleep and I'm not coping very well with it.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend

knottyhair · 23/07/2011 13:13

TDW, I'm so sorry - you must be devastated. Take care of yourself xx

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 23/07/2011 13:34

Big hugs to TDW - am so sorry x - and fingers crossed for you on the job front JAM. Hope your little ones get better soon Belle - I sympathise as both Ds1 and Ds2 are ill here too. Pesky summer bugs.

knottyhair · 23/07/2011 14:58

Belle and Dinky, hope your DCs feel better soon. The doctor said it could be a viral bug that is just taking ages to clear, or could be a digestive problem, so she prescribed some tablets for that. Got to give them until Monday or Tuesday and then go back and have blood tests if no better. Felt really rough yesterday and not great today - poor DS has never watched so much TV in his life!

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 23/07/2011 18:00

TDW Sending much love and hugs your way. It's horrible to lose a dog- Thinking of mine still brings a tear to my eye, and he's been dead about 7 years. :(

Baked today- Cinnabons- They are lovely, and possibly the most fattening thin imaginable.

LadyBuzz · 23/07/2011 18:02

TDW so sorry, so sad for you.

belle hope the DCs are better soon, DS2 isn't well poor thing he has a bad cold and has asthma so is really wheezy, poor love.

Have had an ok day despite the hangover today Grin and I kept off the shots this week!

knottyhair · 24/07/2011 10:01

Morning! LadyBuzz, Dinky and BelleEnd, hope your DCs are feeling better today. TDW, how are you doing? Thinking of you.

Felt really rough first thing this morning, but left DS in front of CBBC when DP had left for work and went back to bed for an hour bad mother and feel so much better for it. Having my umpteenth cup of peppermint tea and had a piece of toast & honey. Hope everyone else is keeping well and in the zone!

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 24/07/2011 16:26

Hope you're feeling better knotty. And TDW, I've been thinking of you. I hope you're alright.

Had a truly lardy day yesterday- I made cinnamon buns, and ate about five- I actually thought I was going to be sick. Am sticking to salad today, and will make a big soup for tomorrow. The concerts, which were what spurred me on to this weight loss in the first place, are happening at the end of next week, and the band are coming over to rehearse at the end of this week. I am rather nervous but I'm 2 and a half stones lighter than I was last time, and I do feel better. :)

BelleEnd · 25/07/2011 16:37

Was doing well and then have eaten everything I can put my hands on this afternoon, after a really terrible accident happened outside my house. A car flipped over into next door's garden, smashing their windows. Another 6 foot and it would have hit our living room window, where DS1 was playing. I was watching him from the kitchen at the time, and just heard brakes and saw glass fly.
I phoned the emergenecy services, and went out to the car. It was an elderly couple and they were stuck in the upturned car. The man was bleeding but okay, but the lady was calling out in pain. :( I held her hand until the ambulance came, about 15 minutes later. We live in the middle of nowhere so it was the air ambulance.

Sorry for such a long depressing post but it's going to stay with me forever, that poor woman, and her poor husband grasping her other hand. I am just willing with every bit of energy I have that they'll be okay.

Appreciate every day, my friends. :(

knottyhair · 25/07/2011 17:11

Oh BelleEnd, that's so upsetting! Fingers crossed that the couple are OK, and how scary for you and your DS, doesn't bear thinking about! And you're right about appreciating every day x
Started a course of antibiotics today and do feel a bit better already. So much so that I really fancied a Mars bar when I was in Waitrose, don't know why, haven't had one for about 20 years. Ended up buying a variety pack of funsize stuff, and so far have had a funsize Mars, Snickers & Maltesers Blush. Can't wait to get back to normal. Hope everyone else is OK x

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 25/07/2011 17:17

Oh my god Belle, that poor couple. Sounds terrifying!

DS1 and DS2 still ill here and I feel like I'm coming down with it too - aargh!

LadyBuzz · 25/07/2011 17:36

belle you poor thing that must have been awful for you, it can really take it out of you when something like that happens.

dinky fingers crossed you don't get it.

knotty glad you are feeling a bit better today, hope you are back to normal soon.

OK day here, Pilates tonight!

Had an awful realisation yesterday I have been using the wii fit to weigh myself and i was 10st 13lb last friday.
My new scales have been weighing me at approx 7lbs heavier. I thought they were wrong but when i used my friends bodyfat scales on friday it seems the new scales are correct and i'm actually 11st 6lbs Sad I've still lost 1st and 10lbs but i'm not as close to target as i thought Angry

BelleEnd · 25/07/2011 20:38

Update- The couple, who are in their 90s, are doing very well in hospital- Even the policeman who told me couldn't believe it! I just watched them take the car to be crushed, and I cannot believe anyone got out of there alive.

Am very relieved and happy for them! D'you think it would be weird if I sent a card to the hospital, wishing them all the best?

dinkystinky · 25/07/2011 20:47

Glad they're doing well Belle. Definitely send a card.

Ladybuzz - sorry for pesky wii lying to you. But keep the faith and you'll hit your target soon!

justaminute · 25/07/2011 20:52

Belle - what a day! It was good of the police to let you know how the couple are. No it is not weird to send a card, quite the opposite in my opinion. I'm sure the couple would appreciate it and were grateful you were there to provide comfort until the emergency services arrived. I hope your Ds isn't traumatised by it.

TDW - sorry to hear your sad news.

Ladybuzz - bummer to the new scales. I'd stick with the WII Wink

I thought I'd shaken off the bug but it seems to have returned this evening - sore throat, runny nose and heavy eyes. No energy to exercise, bed for me. night all.

knottyhair · 25/07/2011 22:27

Belle, glad they're OK - hope you & your DS are too.
LadyBuzz, bastard Wii Grin
JAM, sorry you're feeling so crap. Hope you get a good night's sleep.

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 26/07/2011 13:08

Belle hope you are ok after seeing what you did. I think you should send a card, it shows you care, which you obviously do, its a really nice gesture.

Knotty How big was the funsize bag and how much did you eat [very jealous emoticon]

Lady OMG I weigh myself with the Wii since the battery went in my scales. Maybe I should just invest in some old fashioned scales Hmm

JAM hope you feel better soon.

I'm back at work today, couldn't face it yesterday. Still keep crying, I know I'm grieving and some people think I'm odd getting so upset over a pet, but we had been together for over 11 years and I had resuced her from a real bad life. The house feels so empty without her. Dreading tomorrow as she gets cremated and I've asked for ashes so I can bring her home. Sorry for depressing post.

Hope everyone is well.

knottyhair · 26/07/2011 13:43

Sending you big big big hugs, TDW, it's not odd at all! I haven't had a dog since I was in my 20s but I was very attached to all my dogs and can remember the raw feelings of grief when we had to have them put to sleep. Look after yourself and I think it's a lovely idea to bring her ashes home. Look after yourself xx
Feel a lot better today, I guess the old anti-bionics (as my nan used to call them) are kicking in - still not 100% but am eating a bit more normally. Still have the bloody funsize bag in the fridge - definitely making that a one off! Had a twix for morning snack, and a milky way after my soup. I know they're small and vary between about 70-100 cals each but it all adds up! Am encouraging DP and DS to have them so they go quickly. We don't normally have stuff like this so I think DS thinks Christmas has come early Grin. Hope everyone is OK - Belle, how are you doing? (Genuine enquiry, not an attempt to sound like Joey from Friends).

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 26/07/2011 16:38

TDW that is a lovely idea, my uncle has had his beloved dogs ashes by his bed for 11 years now. If it helps you to deal with it there is no harm in it at all.

knotty bastard wii indeed!! Glad you are starting to feel better today.

tdw i think its the stupidly long pile carpet we have in our living room, it worked fine in the old house but was a shorter carpet (a bit like the other scales weighing me at 9st on the landing Grin
