Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Well done on STS JAM, it's hard to keep the momentum up when you know it's all going to go a little bit pear-shaped on holiday - I know exactly where you're coming from! Where are you going on holiday? And thanks for the motivational comment - sometimes I think we all forget to look at how far we've come Smile.

My friend and her DCs are arriving for dinner tonight, so I'm making a ham & olive lasagne (sounds weird but is lovely, and a lot less calories than a normal one), and I've just put a blackberry & apple cake in the oven. Smells very nice...

Hello lovely ladies, back from a very wet and windy Blackpool!
We had a lovely time but the weather was shocking!

Only 2lbs on here which i am over the moon with so back in the zone for me now (she says scoffing steak pie and chips from the chippy Blush) so back in the zone tomorrow then!

TDW hope the chiropractor helps!

JAM you will find something, it is very crap when you lose your job, Hope you have a lovely holiday!

justaminute · 12/08/2011 17:14

Welcome back Ladybuzz. I'll be very happy if I only gain 2lb on holiday. After a very wet UK holiday last year I decided we should guarantee sunshine this year so we are off to Greece for 7 nights. I'm regretting that now as I don't cope very well in the heat and I'm very fair skinned so burn easily. What was I thinking when I booked? Confused Anyhow I've bought some fake tan today so that I don't dazzle the locals with my white lardy body and I'm really looking forward to the Greek salads and yoghurt ..mmm....

knottyhair · 13/08/2011 20:00

Glad you had a lovely holiday LadyBuzz, and 2lbs on is pretty good going! JAM, Greece sounds very exotic compared with Germany! And I love Greek salad, and kofte, and stifado, and lots of fish.... enjoy!
Had a lovely day with my friend and our DCs. Walked to the river to catch the boat along into town, had lunch out (I had a ham salad that was literally 2 slices of ham with some undressed lettuce, cucumber & tomato, so had half a slice of coffee & walnut cake later!). I made a sort of chicken stew with rice & veg for tea and might have a small bit of blackberry cake later. Hope everyone's having a good weekend x

Hello All, I'm feeling much better, teh chiropractor worked a treat, still on painkillers but I've managd to drop the dose. Got another appointment on Monday, so hopefully things will improve further.

Oh JAM very Envy over the holiday, I haven't had one since November 2009, when I conceived my LO Blush, so was preggers last year and with DH going away for 6 months this year, not really had the time. Next year I am definitley having a holiday. Enjoy.

Knotty you are making me drool with all the talk of greek food, mind you they have lovely greek restaurants in Germany.

I really must remember the name of this thread more often. After a week of over eating with pmt and AF, I felt rough in a morning and really lethargic and angry at myself for what I had allowed myself to eat. I ate really welll on Friday and yesterday and felt so much better for it. I need to rememner the good feeling because that is so much better and nicer than any of the food I eat. Well apart from the chocolate cake with choclate fondant icing that I baked yesterday as I had family visiting, which I of course had a small slice of Grin, only a small one mind.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Take care xx

knottyhair · 14/08/2011 15:21

Glad the chiropractor helped, TDW, hope it continues to improve. And I hope there's a Greek restaurant in Ulm where we're staying before Austria - there's only so many Bratwurst I can manage Grin! Your cake sounds lovely. And you're right about hanging on to that feeling you get from eating well.
My friend has just left with her DCs - had a lovely weekend with them. I made a simple veg soup for lunch, and we had it with garlic bread & frankfurters for lunch. Not sure what to have for tea but it will be something light. Managed a L1 Shred this morning, watched by my friend's DD - nice. Have a good day everyone x

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 14/08/2011 18:31

Nothing like an audience for any level of shred Hmm. I don't think I would be able to do it. Knotty you are so good for going ahead anyway.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

knottyhair · 15/08/2011 09:26

Morning all! Managed 4 circuits of BFBM this morning early this morning, as DS and I are off out to visit my "aunt" (not really my aunt but my mum's cousin) in Hertfordshire today. She's never met DS but always sends him money at Xmas and birthdays etc. She's doing lunch so not sure what I'll be eating! Also not sure what time we'll be back so it'll have to be "freezer goods, freezer goods" for tea. Beautiful day here, hope it is where you all are x

dinkystinky · 15/08/2011 14:38

Right, back at work and determined to inch my way back into the zone. My trousers are telling me that illness then 2 weeks of gorging have definitely had more than a 2lb on impact Envy at BelleEnd!

BelleEnd · 15/08/2011 15:22

I have been away for the weekend to the in-laws, and will be going away again next thurs, so I need to stay on track for these next three days. It is SO hard to eat sensibly during the summer holidays when there's no routine, and takeaway sandwiches are SO calorific! I chose an m and s sandwich over a mcdonalds last saturday, thinking I was being good... It had over 600 calories! For a bloody sandwich! Shock

Shaxx · 15/08/2011 15:58

I've been away for a few days at my sisters. She lives near the sea so we've had a lovely few days out and about with the kids. I will admit that I wasn't very watchful over my food and we did have a few ice creams.

I also had a lovely lunch in Covent Garden yesterday with a friend and yes, dessert was on the menu! But I did only have salmon with veg for mains and had only had an apple for breakfast.

I'm being good today.

Porridge
Houmous, crackers, fruit (picnic in the park)
salmon (again but I love it), veg

Well done everyone for keeping going and good luck to those of us getting back into it!

thedogwalker · 15/08/2011 20:24

Welcome back everybody. Sounds like you've all had great times away, or you're like Knotty and just about to go away, I'm very Envy of you all Grin.

Bloody hell, 600 calories for a sandwhich, Belle I would have been fuming, and feel that I'd been robbed of a bloooming good meal, like fish and chips or something similar.

Well back into the zone for you Shaxx, you'll be back in it in no time. Just think of slinky sexy underwear or an outfit you really want to wear and you'll get back in the zone.

Take care all xx

knottyhair · 16/08/2011 10:19

Morning! Dinky, you'll be fully back in the zone in no time Grin! BelleEnd, it's hard when you eat out - I'm always shocked at how calorific pre-packed sandwiches are! That's why I like places like Pret a Manger, as everything is clearly labelled and they do nice soups & salads as well as sandwiches. Obviously that's only useful if you have one near you Blush. Shaxx, sounds like you've been pretty good considering you've been away and out & about in London.

Didn't do too badly yesterday - my aunt had done lots of salad, chicken & ham for lunch, also home-made sausage rolls (I only had 1) and french bread (I didn't have any), then she brought out a trifle she'd made and I had one spoonful - god, it was nice! Got back and started to get some veg ready for tea but DP had not listened to my blathering in the morning misunderstood and came back with fish & chips! I shared a portion with DS so don't think it was too bad, but still...
Tried to make up for it with Jillian this morning, and I'm planning ham & salad wrap for lunch, and pasta with tomato sauce, a bit of bacon and borlotti beans that need eating from the garden for tea. Hope everyone has a good day x

knottyhair · 17/08/2011 17:28

Goodness, v.quiet on here. Hope everyone is off doing nice things. Managed a bit of BFBM first thing, then we've been up a friend's house all day with a packed lunch and bouncy castle action - only £6 each between 5 of us for the day! Got talked into half a glass of sparkling rose which went straight to my head and reminded me why I don't really drink these days! Quorn sausages, mash & beans for tea - trying to use everything up before holiday. Hope you all have had a lovely day x

dinkystinky · 17/08/2011 20:09

I'm stuck in blimming work again - deal signing on Friday so all hell on earth unleashed - so no zoning and no time for MNing either! V envious of your day out Knotty!

thedogwalker · 17/08/2011 21:09

My last day at work tomorrow for 2 weeks, so been v busy trying to get everything organised, plus it's my DS's first birthday on Sunday, not only am I stunned that a whole year has passed but I've no idea what to do for the food Hmm for the party.

Ate my weight in biscuits today, big ooops Blush. Went for a 3 mile run tonight to try and burn off some of the calories, but it didn't make much of a dent in the biscuit overload. Feel better though for getting out there. My back feels much better, even though I've still got more chiropractor appointments to go to, want to make sure I solve all the problems.

Was going to write a note to self to be good tomorrow, but then remembered that one of the guys is leaving at work and he asked for us all to go to Pizza hut for lunch with him, I'm sure there is nothing on their menu good for me and the salads always look really limp and depressing. So going to be another calorie overload tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well. Hope the deal goes smoothly Dinky and you can get back to zoning.

Take care all xx

knottyhair · 18/08/2011 07:12

Sorry your work's gone mad again Dinky, will it improve next week? TDW, glad your back's feeling better, and hope your lunch is OK. I agree, Pizza Hut is probably not very inspiring for healthy eating, but do they still do the thinner pizzas? I haven't been in a Pizza Hut for about 20 years, so I've got no idea! But I think if they do, they are the better bet. Hope your DS has a fab birthday party! Are you doing food for adults & kids?

Had an early weigh-in this week as we're off on holiday at 4.30am tomorrow, and I've lost 1.5lbs, despite going well over my calories at the weekend. Still 1lb off my actual target. How ridiculous - as my DP charmingly says, that's a good poo Grin! (Well, he doesn't say poo) Just a psychological thing that I had the magical "nine stone" in my head. I'm sure the scales will have a different story after 2 weeks of wurst & kuchen! Jillian is of course coming with us, but as we're in a first floor apartment for the first few days, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do. Once we get to Austria it should be OK and MIL usually takes us all out on long hikes so hopefully the damage will be limited. No Jillian today though, about to start the last lot of ironing and all the packing in a sec, and persuade DS that he can't take 2 huge plastic boxes of Lego... Have a good day everyone xx

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 18/08/2011 09:13

Knotty enjoy your time away, you make me hanker after my days of living in germany. 1 lb away from goal is amazing, just look at how far you've come, you should be really proud of yourself.

I too have had early weigh in as the next few days are going to be hectic for me, with family coming to stay etc. I am 1 lb on Blush, but with all the overeating I'm happy that is the extent of the damage. Plus if I look at the bigger picture, I've lost 4 lb so far this month, so I'm happy with that. Next week will be the biggy, can I stay away from all the goodies whilst off work. I always find it harder to be good when my DH is home, as he eats all day long.

Hope everyone has a good day. Have a really good holiday Knotty and have ein currywurst mit pommes weiss for me (curry wurst with chips and mayo yum yum)

ta ta for now

Shaxx · 18/08/2011 10:01

Knotty have a great holiday! You're so good taking Jillian everywhere you go Smile

TDW hope your ds has a great birthday. Have you decided on the party food? I agree its all about the long term when it comes to dieting. There'll always be times when we stray (some of us more than others. Ahem)

Dinky sorry to hear works gone manic again.

I've been fairly good over the last few days but I've probably just been maintaining if I'm honest with myself. I need to notch it up a gear. DH's work has gone mad and he's been home late most nights so I've hardly been to the gym. I really need to get back into it.

Hope you all have a good day.

dinkystinky · 18/08/2011 10:27

Knotty have a fab holiday. TDW - glad your back is abit better - enjoy your 2 weeks off work and hope DS ha a great birthday.

knottyhair · 18/08/2011 19:16

Thanks everyone! Just polished off a small lamb shish with salad & loads of chilli sauce (anyone want to be stuck in a car with me for 10 hours??) See you in a couple of weeks x

OP posts:
Shaxx · 19/08/2011 08:37

Knotty Enjoy and see you in a couple of weeks!

Sts for me today

Dh came back late again (10pm) so no gym again. I think its going to be like this for a while so I dusted off my copy of 30 day shred, took a leaf out of Knottys book and did a session. It was hard but I think I've got back into it and will try to complete the 30 days.

AND I am getting back to myfitnesspal!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Shaxx · 20/08/2011 10:31

In knotty's absence, I'll keep the thread going :)

Shredded again today even though every single muscle in my body was aching. I feel better for it now and the aches have gone.

After doing some reading and watching a seminar on a link on a thread in food about what we should be eating, I told the boys yesterday that we weren't going to buy any junk food and any cookies or cakes we want, we have to make ourselves because all the shop bought ones are rubbish.
They accepted it really well and picked out things for baking and then choose lychees and a dragon fruit for their shopping treat which would normally have been some chocolate Grin
I hope it lasts :)

Plan for today
toast, tomatoes, yoghurt
salad, salmon
veg curry, brown rice

LadyBuzz · 20/08/2011 10:47

Morning ladies, 1.4 lb off for me yesterday with no gym this week which is ok.
hopefully back to it properly next week.

Not alot planned socially for a few weeks now so that should definately help. I'm finding the school hols have really thrown me!

I baked yesterday to try my new super icing nozzle out and need to resist the cupcakes!

well done for everyone who lost!

knotty 1lb how very annoying, your DH is right but i can imagine you just need to see it on those scales. Well done you, hope you enjoy your holiday!

tdw glad the back is improving

shaxx well done your DCs!

dinkystinky · 20/08/2011 21:49

Evening all - didnt manage to weigh in on Friday due to manic work but hoping to head back to the zone shortly. Had nice day with my sister and her mate today having a massage this morning then underwear shopping for her wedding and getting our bridesmaids dresses - found a gold dress in LK Bennett in the sale for 65 pounds! Total bargain Grin But could definitely do with losing a few pounds, especially from my midriff, to look the best in the dress - so off to the zone with me for the next 2 and a half weeks...

Shaxx - great idea re making your own treats!

TDW glad your back is better.
