Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Morning! Well, went over my calories yesterday but then had really upset tummy yesterday evening! Feel OK in myself (i.e. not sick) but think it might be a reaction to the antibiotics. Started about an hour after taking them. Not sure but I'm going to have a day off from them and see what happens. Feel not too bad so far this morning. So much for getting to my goal before I go on holiday again Sad. Never mind.
TDW, how are you doing today? Don't worry about what other people think - you've lost a member of your family and you need to able to grieve properly. Hope you have a gentle day x

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 27/07/2011 08:50

Knotty - daughter of a doctor here - FINISH THE COURSE OF YOUR ANTIBIOTICS! They may be making you have a dodgy tummy (esp if you take them on an empty stomach) but if you dont finish the course, the effectiveness of ABs on your system will be weakened and you'll have to have even more hardcore ABs next time round.

TDW - big hugs again. Your dog has been such a big part of your life for so long and through so many changes in your life - of course you're going to miss her and grieve for her. Please do bring the ashes home and take your time to remember her and all the joy she brought to your life.

Definitely have the bug DS1 and DS2 have - feel like crap so no exercise but so busy at work I cant stay in bed to sleep it off. Ho hum.

knottyhair · 27/07/2011 09:04

Dinky, I did think about that but I was just wondering if they would still be effective if they weren't staying in me IYKWIM. But I'm off to take them now Blush. Sorry you're feeling so rubbish and can't rest - that's not good. What are your symptoms? How are the DCs now?

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 27/07/2011 09:07

They're doing their job Knotty dont worry - best if you take them after food or have a small snack with them. And try having some probiotic drinks - might help sort out your tummy.

Temperature, achy body, splitting headache, sore throat - the usual summer flu symptoms. DS1 finally coming out the other side of it, DS2 still v clingy and miserable unfortunately.

LadyBuzz · 27/07/2011 12:26

dinky you have my sympathies, DS2 seems to be getting brighter but DD has developed bronchiolitis Sad and is not well at all. Hope you feel better soon.
I might have to give the gym a miss tonight i'm knackered.

justaminute · 27/07/2011 20:27

what is it with all these bugs?! It is meant to be the height of Summer - ha ha. I'm full of cold. Feeling ill in Summer is just not right.
I was told today that my last day at work will be Friday. As I suspected once their minds were made up there was nothing I could do about it.
It's not to be recommended but illness and job stress are good appetite suppressants. However any weight loss is going to be undone tomorrow night - I'm off out with the girls ... on a school night - how daring!

knottyhair · 28/07/2011 07:17

JAM, I'm so sorry about your job! That's really crap. Hopefully you'll get something even better. Hope you feel better soon as well.
Dinky, how are you today, and your DCs? Ladybuzz, how are your DCs as well? TDW, how are you?
I think I'm still on the mend here. Bit of an upset tummy again last night (I'm convinced it's the ABs but am taking Dinky's advice and carrying on with them, making sure I have a full stomach). Not too worried about the weigh-in tomorrow, no point really! Can't do any exercise, have gone over on a couple of days I think but my diet is nothing like it usually is at the moment, just got to go with the flow! Have a good day xx

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 28/07/2011 08:00

Oh no JAM - am so sorry about your job. Have a great time out tonight with your mates. Fingers crossed that you find a new job soon too.

Knotty - still abit under the weather here too. DS1 better (but racking cough), DS2 still temperature and grumpy as all sin - and I'm still feeling rough. Will try and do some exercise today but giong to keep it low key I think.

LadyBuzz · 28/07/2011 09:46

JAM sorry about your job thats really crap.

Hope everyone feels better soon, nobody seems well ATM, DS2 is a little brighter again today and is almost back to his delightful self. We are potty training too which is much fun Grin
DD still not great but def better then yesterday.

I'm kind of starting on a clean sheet this week due to the wii being wrong -Angry so won't be 100% sure what my actual loss is as i didn't use the scales last week Confused but will weigh in the morning anyway and try to work it out!

thedogwalker · 28/07/2011 11:21

Oh JAM, so sorry about your Job, will you get severence pay? Or will you just have to fend for yourself? DO you think you will take some 'you' time before getting another job? Wish you lots of luck with whatever you decide.

What is it with all the lurgie germs going around. My DS has had his 2nd chest infection and even with the ABs it's sticking around. Hope you and you LOs get better soon, it's just not right being unwell in the summer.

Dinky don't over do the exercise, it might put you back again, just remember moderation, I know its tempting to go full pelt to make up for lost days, but you are normally senisble, aren't you Grin.

Lady good luck on the new scales, you're brave and good luck with the potty training. When I need to start DS I will come to you for some advice, few years yet, I think, infact when do you start potty training? Hmm

Had a better night's sleep last night which has made me feel better, still missing my beloved dog, but it is getting easier.

Hope everyone is well or is at least on the mend. Ta ta for now.

dinkystinky · 28/07/2011 16:42

Dont worry TDW - just did a bodycombat class to keep my hand in, and was fine, just abit tiring. Glad you had some better sleep. Have you thought about maybe getting a tree or plant that you could plant your beloved dogs ashes with - may help to have a lasting tribute and something to remember your dog by? MIL and DH scattered their beloved dogs ashes on the Sussex downs and always talk of her - and her crazy ways - when they go for walks there.

knottyhair · 28/07/2011 18:15

I love Dinky, "just did a bodycombat class" - with a stinking cold! You're a better woman than me Grin!

OP posts:
knottyhair · 29/07/2011 07:56

Morning. Hope everyone (and their DCs) are on the mend. Dinky, meant to say that's a lovely idea about scattering the ashes. Glad you're getting there TDW, but just go with the grieving process, and be easy on yourself.
Lost another 1.25lbs Shock. I was convinced I would STS or even put on a bit. I guess there's something to be said for an upset stomach Grin. 2lbs to go until I reach my target of 9 stone only to put it all back on stuffing my face in Austria . Good luck everyone x

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 29/07/2011 08:11

Good morning all

Well done Knotty, wow you seem to have dropped those pounds quick. Good on yer girl. 2lbs to go that's brilliant.

Dinky that's some going with a cold, hope it made you feel better.

I've lost 2lbs this week, taking me to 9st 8lbs. That would have been ne 1lb away from target, but since joining MFP, I've changed my target, thought a rounded 130 lbs seemed so much better Hmm, so now got 6lbs to lose. I'm so very happy though with my progress as I never in a million years thought that I would ever get back into the 9 stones, let alone be near the 9 1/2 mark. So I am pretty chuffed with myself. I know that as soon as I get to goal, I'll get preggers and pile it all back on again Grin

Hope everyone has a good weigh in. Take care xx

knottyhair · 29/07/2011 08:26

That's great TDW! Fab loss! I did the same as you, my original target was 9 stone 7, but I changed it to 9 stone. I'm only 5ft 4, so every extra pound shows!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 29/07/2011 08:54

Morning all - well done on your loss TDW. Excellent loss. And well done for you too Knotty!

Wierdly the Bodycombat did make me feel better as let me get some work stresses out. Havent weighed in today as DH was out last night and too hungover this morning to deal with kids Hmm so had hectic morning of dealing with kids AND DH so no time to weigh (if try to do it with kids around they hop on the scales with me)

Knotty - I'm just over 5 ft 4 too but my target is 10 stone. At 9 stone I look ill - I was 9 and a half stone when I got married to DH but was doing ALOT of exercise then (daily gym sessions plus runs) which am simply not going to be able to do nowadays so decided 10 stone was a sensible goal.

LadyBuzz · 29/07/2011 09:52

Morning Ladies, Great losses TDW & Knotty
I think i have lost 1lb this week???

I am dissapointed with not being as light as i thought i was BUT i'm only 6lb away from being 10 stone something and i know i can do it!

My target is 9 1/2 stone and i'm 5 2 ish, the first time i joined weight management I was 9st5 Shock I'd give my right arm to be that now, back then my target was 8st2 there is just no way on earth i could get to that now but i really don't want to TBH!

knottyhair · 29/07/2011 17:19

Dinky, it's funny how it's different for different people, I guess it depends on your body shape as well. A few many many years ago I went down to 8 and a half stone, and I think that's where I start to look "scrawny". Hope your DH is feeling better Grin!
LadyBuzz, well done on your loss!

Had a lovely day - walked with DS to the local outdoor museum place to meet friends - nice to do a bit of exercise! Had a picnic lunch - I had a roast beef & salad wrap, and I had a bit of cake and a couple of biscuits etc. Felt like I wasn't too bothered today with the calories - not sure why. Back to it tomorrow. Have decided to maybe do a Davina DVD on Sunday and see how I feel, poss back to Jillian next week. Have got pasta with a bit of chorizo, cabbage & half fat creme fraiche for tea.

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 29/07/2011 18:57

Well I'm having a night off and having some wine, lots a bit of wine, or I won't be able to sort the LO out tomorrow. Wish DH was here and then I would get very drunk, ho hum there's always next weekend Grin.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

knottyhair · 29/07/2011 19:07

Enjoy your Wine TDW! I'm also having a night off and having some cheese on my pasta and have been nibbling on and off on tortilla chips. I know how to live Grin.

OP posts:
justaminute · 29/07/2011 20:32

Good work ladies. I was a STS this morning but considering I stuffed myself with curry last night I'm happy with that. I'm Envy at all this 9 stone talk although I think I'd look skeletal at that weight as I'm 5 foot 9. I'm aiming to be 10 and half.

Thank you all for your sympathies regarding the job. I'm just being given the statutory pay off. It all stinks a bit as it has happened so fast and in 2 weeks I would have completed another year of service so would have been entitled to more. I'm going to enjoy the Summer hols and then start looking for something new. I think it is going to be tough to find something of equal pay and family friendly hours but I'll give it a go - maybe it's time to reassess what I want to do? Hmm

Unfortunately dd has been struck by the bug now. I got in this pm to find her asleep on the sofa with a temperature. She roused for a bit so I gave her some Calpol but she didn't want any dinner and was in bed at 5pm. I'm hoping she'll sleep it off. Last night's curry hasn't shifted my cold either. I'm missing exercising.

TDW i'm about to join you on the Wine so "Cheers m' dears!"

thedogwalker · 30/07/2011 10:01

Morning all. Well I drank nearly all of a bottle of wine Blush to myself. Thankfully DS laid in until 7.30 this morning. Hope you enjoyed your cheese knotty, yum yum and hope you enjoyed your Wine too JAM.

Have a good weekend Smile

knottyhair · 30/07/2011 18:05

Well done on STS JAM. I think 10 and a half sounds great for your height. Sounds like your work treated you pretty badly. Hope you enjoy having the summer off and good luck with finding something. Hope your DD is feeling better. TDW, blimey, I used to be able to do a bottle of wine, but I think I'd throw up if I tried now Blush.

Walked into town today with DS to meet my parents for lunch - had a Pret tuna salad which was very nice! Picked 2kg of blackberries for the freezer from the garden, and am just cooking a "healthy" version of spaghetti bolognese for tea. Am going to attempt a Davina tomorrow and see how I go... Hope everyone's having a nice day x

OP posts:
knottyhair · 31/07/2011 08:59

Me again! Decided to forgo Davina and go straight back to Jillian this morning. Managed a Level 1 Shred, but I could definitely tell I hadn't done anything for 2 weeks! Beautiful day here, going to pick our borlotti beans this morning and make a salad with them for lunch, and doing Jillian's grilled lemon chicken for tea with salad and new potatoes. Hope everyone has the sunshine x

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 31/07/2011 09:14

Knotty you are just hardcore Grin.

I did about 3 hours of walking yesterday pushing the pram, I can feel it in my knee today. I want to do something, but don't want to upset the knee too much, I had thought walking would be safe, guess not.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
