Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Congrats Guitargirl! Thats lovely :)
Well done to all the weight losers.

Unfortunately, I've been a bit rubbish. It was one thing after another. I was ill, then dh was ill and we had a couple of dinners out so I've stayed the same. I've been to the gym a few times so I think thats helped to keep my weight steady.

Back to that Zone. The barbed wire fence needs to be electrified.

justaminute · 03/05/2011 09:21

I?m glad to be back at work this morning where there are no temptations. I stepped on the scales this am to see the damage from a weekend of tea parties, meals out, booze and picnics. The 3lb I was so jubilant to lose has gone straight back on. Eeek. I?ve got my work cut out to achieve a sts this week. I?ll be downing pints of water all day in the hope of flushing out the calories.

knottyhair · 03/05/2011 10:09

Morning! Hi to AnyoneForPimms! Did you Shred this morning?? I'd back up Karma's advice re: meal planning. And for me, cutting out all those foods wouldn't be good - I eat roughly what I always have done, but have reduced portion size and only have a little bit of chocolate or a few crisps. I find weighing things helps me a lot so I know exactly what I've had. I use an online tracker to log all my calories and exercise so I keep on track within my allowance for the weight loss I want to achieve - it seems to work so far. I've had a slow but steady loss of 18lbs since end of January. Good luck!! Karma, how was the cinema and what did you see? iluvcake, hope the physio helps with your hip, that sounds really painful. And wow at your will power at Pizza Express Shock! Shaxx, hope you and your family are better now. JAM, I try and keep away from the scales inbetween weekly weigh-ins, I think they can show different results from one day to the next for a variety of reasons. Had a lovely weekend in Oxford, although I'm only hoping for a STS this week I think after a pub lunch, a meal out at Jamie's Italian, a cooked breakfast in the hotel and no Jillian for 2 days! I did do a bit of swimming in the hotel pool but that mainly consisted of a couple of lengths and then sitting in the steam room! We did a 5 mile walk on Monday morning before we came home but it was a very easy flat one, so not sure it would've made much difference. Back to it today - just did 6W6P but it was mentally quite hard to get through today - combo of having had a break and feeling like I may have the start of a funny throat. But it's done. Prawn salad wrap for lunch and chicken, rice & veg for tea. Jesus what a long post Blush. Have a good day xx

Good morning everyone. I took my DC to see Thor. It was very cheesy, but was what DS2 wanted to watch and it was his turn to choose. My family munched their way through giant bags of Skittles, Starburst and Revels, but I managed to only have a few skittles and 7 revels (one was a coffee creme, so I was cheated Grin).

Am doing okay food wise. I seem to have a few days where I cope quite easily with the calories that I'm allowed and then have a day when I feel really hungry. Am mostly sticking to it, although I haven't been out for a meal since I started this diet, so have been keeping clear of temptation.

Glad you had a nice time knotty.

dinkystinky · 03/05/2011 11:19

Morning all and welcome to the new joiners! Great to see the board getting really busy. Listen to knotty all - she's our poster girl! Sounds like you ahd a really lovely time in Oxford knotty - most jealous. Take it easy if you feel like you're coming down with something - go for gentle invigorating exercise (davina) rather than killer work outs (jillian) as that'll lower your immune system further

JAM - I totally second Knotty on the sneaky peeks - just go for once a week and try and do some exercise, drink loads and make sensible choices and you'll get shot of that 3lbs again.

Have been so busy unpacking boxes etc (rewarding myself with a drink at the end of each unpacking session is the only way I can make myself do it) that havent really had time to exercise much - made a PT session on sunday which was a killer and circuits this morning which nearly finished me off! Will be making a concerted effort to get my fitness levels back up so off to pilates at lunchtime. Had porridge with yoghurt for breakfast today and pineapple for mid-morning snack. Not sure about lunch yet - probably sushi. And dinner tonight will be cauliflower ragout, butternut squash mash and pork loin. Followed by a dessert of more unpacking...

fedupofnamechanging · 03/05/2011 11:46

Think how happy you'll be when it's all done dinky

justaminute · 03/05/2011 20:10

Dinky & Knotty - point taking about only weighing once a week. Fingers crossed todays change was due to atmospheric pressure or other mystery of science Wink

Karma - send the coffee revels my way - I'm one of those weird ones that like them - as for the orange ones- you can keep those!

Today has been hard, I keep opening the cupboards looking for stuff to munch. I've succumbed to one mini egg and a few haribo so not too bad. I've just shredded which has strengthened my resolve - I don't want to undo my hard work after that torture. Level 2 is TOUGH. How on earth does jillian talk and exercise I'm a sweaty, puffing, gurning mess throughout.

Just cooking salmon with new pots & veg to keep the munchies at bay.

Shaxx · 04/05/2011 07:19

Knotty it sounds like you had a lovely time! Whats Jamies Italian like? There's one in Canary Wharf that I'd like to visit.

Dinky hope you're getting there withthe unpacking. I was intrigued by your breakfast porridge with yoghurt. Was that separately or together?

JAM I hate those munchies days, They are my downfall. I'll be doing so well then I'll have a day like that to undo everything. It's such a pain. I suggest (for me too!) that you make sure you've had lots of water and take some vits in case your body is craving something (in my case its probably fat but you never know!)

I've been ok the last couple of days and have stayed away from the rubbish. I'm going to a spinning class or gym session later. Not sure what to have today so am going to go and look at that lovely bbcgoodfood site.

Hope you all have a good day!

knottyhair · 04/05/2011 08:03

Morning. Dinky, it'll be so nice when you're all sorted! JAM, yup, I hate those days as well - they tend to be AF related for me. And I know exactly what you mean about Jillian. There's a bit in 6W6P when she says, "ooh, I'm getting a little sweaty" whilst delicately wiping her eyebrow with her finger, and I'm dying on the floor. Shaxx, we love Jamie's Italian. Been to a few (Oxford, Kingston, Brighton, Cambridge, Covent Garden) and have never had a bad meal. The staff are lovely too. Hope you make your spinning/gym. Not doing a workout today, as DS has his "spring singalong" first thing this morning at the big church in town, but I'm going to walk down as briskly as I can without looking like a twat! Just had poached egg on toast, will have some sort of low cal option in town, and tuna & tomato rice for tea. Have a nice day everyone!

OP posts:
justaminute · 04/05/2011 09:57

Knotty - have you got a loyalty card for Jamie?s Kitchen? Smile

Hmm, munchies might be due to imminent af. I have been a bit of a mardy cow the last few days.

dinkystinky · 04/05/2011 12:00

Shaxx - I make the porridge with water then stir in a low fat yoghurt, which make it all creamy and taste much nicer! Hope you enjoy your gym session.

knottyhair · 04/05/2011 14:04

JAM, I should have, shouldn't I? DS is slightly obsessed with Jamie hence our many visits. His DVD of choice on long journeys is his set of "Jamie At Home" Grin, although he has been known to mix it up a bit with Dr Who and Scooby Doo, he's not that weird unusual. Just got back from town. Toyed with the idea of walking back but uphill in the sun laden down with plastic storage boxes and water pistols didn't appeal. Managed a fairly low cal sandwich in M&S cafe after wanting to poke out my ears with a blunt stick after an hour and a half of 7 year olds warbling enjoying DS's spring concert.

LadyBuzz · 05/05/2011 10:50

I've managed to get back on track for the last couple of days so i'm crossing everything for a loss (however small tomorow).
Haven't managed any exercise this week though!
Might not be a problem after next week as DHs job is on the line, and i find out if i will have a job to go back to, and we have no mortgage ins so we might not be able to afford to eat Grin.

knottyhair · 05/05/2011 10:54

Morning! Got my workout out of the way again, still feeling a bit "throaty" IYKWIM so did just 4 circuits of BFBM but that was enough! Cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, tomato soup for lunch and going to try this for tea with salad. JAM, hope you feel less "mardy" today Smile.

DP weighed himself last night and he's managed to lose over half a stone in a few weeks without even noticing! I guess it's the healthier meals combined with the fact that he's building 2 bungalows to hopefully sell on that might have done it! But it's slightly disheartening when I was all chuffed at getting down to 10 stone, and he's gone down to 10 stone 5 and he's 5ft 11! Gave him a ciabatta roll and butter last night to go with his dinner to feed him up! Think he needs more calories in his packed lunch.....

OP posts:
knottyhair · 05/05/2011 10:55

Sorry, cross posted LadyBuzz. Fingers crossed for your DH's job, and yours. Hope you get some good news. Sounds very stressful Sad.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 05/05/2011 11:11

Oh Lord Ladybuzz that sounds so stressful - fingers crossed for both youa nd your DH. Knotty - my DH loses weight at the drop of a hat too and never puts it on, its v annoying!

iluvcake · 05/05/2011 11:37

Blimey! It's so busy on hereSmile. Welcome to all the joiners!

Sorry to hear your 3lbs has gone back on jam-you thrashed me last week in our challenge! Am sure you can get it off again. LadyBuzz-everything X for you-that must be awful for you-hope it works out.

Have been so busy recently that I've been grabbing lots of sugary snacks. I've been healthy at lunchtime and dinner time but it's all the snacking in between. I'm also back on the honey cheeriosSad. Bit depressed at not being able to exercise and feel really panicky about not being able to burn calories. I just need to flick that switch in my head to get back off the sugar and into the zone.

fedupofnamechanging · 05/05/2011 13:05

Ladybuzz, I hope everything turns out well for your jobs. A couple of years ago, the company my DH was working for went into administration. It is so stressful. I am a SAHM and we were worrying like mad about the mortgage too.

Today has been 'one of those days'. It started well and I was super organised this morning. Then DD was sick on the kitchen floor just as we were about to leave for school. As I was bending down to take her boots off, she grabbed my hair with her hands. Cue me rushing round frantically washing sick out of my hair, and get dd washed and changed in 5 minutes.

This was topped off by a trip to the dentist with DS, so all good here Smile.
I'm sure my life is supposed to be more glamourous than this Grin.

Food wise, I have been a bit mixed. Had chicken and prawn with veg stir fry for dinner last night and have had eggs and ryvitas for breakfast, but had a fry's chocolate creme for lunch.

Not done any formal exercise this week, but have been rushing around a lot. Am reasonably hopeful for tomorrows weigh in.

Good luck everybody

justaminute · 05/05/2011 13:11

Ladybuzz - well done for staying in the zone in such stressful circumstances. Fingers crossed for you.

Knotty - my dh is the same too - he only weighs half a stone more than me yet is 4 inches taller and muscly. He also likes chocolate. It's not good.

iluv - keep drinking water and try to have some healthy snacks to hand - chopped fruit & veg in the fridge is my saviour at the mo. Easier said than done I know

I was a bit naughty yesterday and ate a lot of chocolate. However a game of netball and cutting back on real food (not good I know) means I kept within my calories. I'm awash with water and eating my body weight in carrots today. Fingers crossed I'll have made a dent into the weekends excess.

iluvcake · 05/05/2011 22:01

Thanks jam. Yes, I def need to up the water. It's all gone out the window. Will keep trying....

karmabeliever, that sounds like one hell of a stressful morning. Tomorrow can only be betterGrin.

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

knottyhair · 06/05/2011 07:51

Morning. iluvcake, get yourself back in the zone, you can do it! Great advice from JAM as usual. Also is there any kind of fruit that you really like that you could keep prepared in the fridge for when those pangs strike? Or a little bit of dark chocolate? Just a thought. Karma, sorry you had such a crap morning yesterday, hope your DD is OK and that today is better for you. Well I've woken up with a horrible throat and the beginnings of a cold so I'm not doing any exercise today Sad. Anyone else feel twitchy when they can't exercise?? On a happier note, I've lost 1.5lbs again despite the weekend away, so I'm chuffed! I'm now below 10 stone (9 stone 12.75lbs to be exact!) for the first time in about 8 years. Got some prawn rice pancake things for lunch (treated myself in Waitrose yesterday) and making tuna burgers with guacamole & salad for tea. Good luck everyone xx

fedupofnamechanging · 06/05/2011 07:59

Good morning everyone.

Well done on breaking the 10st barrier knotty. Hope you feel better soon. I buy the 1000mg vitamin C tablets which seems to get rid of a cold in a couple of days. They taste weird though (unless you like fizzy orange).

DD is fine. She has a cold too and I think being all bunged up made her sick, but she is feeling happy today.

Have done the weigh in and have broken my 11st mark and am now 10st 10.8 lbs. I am really happy as i thought I was never going to get below 11st.

Hope everyone has a good weigh in

justaminute · 06/05/2011 09:08

Wow! Well done Knotty & Karma on breaking your magical barriers.

I'm pleased to report a sts. Amazed after my mid week sneaky weigh in - just goes to show it pays to only weigh in once a week.

Shaxx · 06/05/2011 09:37

Well done Karma and knotty! Barrier breaking feels great.
JAM well done on sts. Get yerself back into the zone so you can tell us you've had a loss next week. Don't know how you escaped with the barbed wired alarmed electrified fence!

I've lost 1 lb. I'm happy with that. I feel like I'm starting again (again!)
I'm in a mindset at the moment where I want to spend time making decent food and wanting to be hungry enough to enjoy it.

This morning I had low fat fruit yoghurt with grated apple and flaked toasted almonds mixed in with a banana. It was so tasty and satisfying. Lunch will be something from the supermarket as I'm going shopping and dinner is rice with spicy lamb meatballs. Exercise is a spin class or gym session.

Have a good day everyone.

justaminute · 06/05/2011 09:54

Shaxx - my rolls of blubber mean that I can?t feel the pain of the barbed wire Smile
