shocked and in tears. I joined up on my own, I was utterly terrified. It's a massive group, I think there were at least 40 people there who stayed and another 20 that didn't stay.

I haven't been on the scales for 3 years and I have a stone a year to show for it.

I am now 11st over my ideal weight and I am shit scared for my health.

My goodness, i'd like to say it feels good but right now I am overwhelmed. The diet looks great but I have simply got so much to lose. I met a woman tonight who has lost 6.5 stone-she is still bigger than I am but she gave me hope. It's taken her since Jan last year.

I start to eat right tomorrow-for tonight it's a glass of wine and an early night.

Which thread do you recommend I join for support along the way? I will need it.

Heya all,

jynxedDont worry about those hot cross buns, finish them off and enjoy them but promise yourself you'll be back on it tomorrow.

waldorf and the same to you, we all slip from time to time.

hedge i will ask my consultant next week. i am not going to see her this week as I am off on holiday on fri and i'm working late to make up the day off.

There will be a bit of radio silence for the next few days as I am going to be ensconsed in a yurt in sunny (hopefully) cornwall til wed. I cannot wait.

I have just come back from pizza express-a rare childfree night meant dh and I decided to say oh sod it. I even had pudding, and i'm not back in the green syns wise since saturday night. Oh dear.

Well i figure i'm in for the long haul-10 stone is no paltry sum, so here goes. I shall have the odd night out and do so without guilt. It's the enemy to feeling positive about weight loss.

Strangely I have been pondering this, I used to internalise my feelings towards my weight, but now I am doing something about it I have totally stopped beating myself up about my stomach and thighs. If I feel bad about the way I look I now think, ah well but it's coming off isn't it. I have it under control.

I never expected to feel that feeling, it's a bonus. Quite an amazing positive boost to my well being thats actually very little do with what i actually weigh-just the way I behave. :) I already feel more confident in lots of places (including the bedroom Blush Wink Grin) Dh doesn't know whats hit him, but he's not complaining, he he.

i hope everyone else is ok and resisting the easter eggs. i cant wait til after the bank holidays to get back to a normal routine.

For you jynxed; Syn free vanilla ice recipe

2 egg
1lb 5oz (yes thats loads) of very low fat fromage frais,
2 tbsp of skim milk,
vanilla essence,
4 tblsp of splenda sweetener.

egg whites whipped to soft peaks, , fold in sweetener, in another bowl mix together from frais, vanilla and milk, fold this into the egg white mixture. Freeze until firm or you can use an ice cream maker and finish it off in the freezer (i use the old fraomage frais containers) I also stirred in some raspberries into the mix last time, it was lush and has made a nice raspberry ripple effect.

fishandlilacs · 26/04/2011 16:30

hey where is everyone then?

ilovewaldorfandstatler · 26/04/2011 21:42

Hedgepig · 27/04/2011 10:29

Hiya I'm back from holiday, it was lovely having a relax in the sun . Despite drinking gallons of wine and smacking and even eating white bread! I seem to have lost weight I am totally mystified.

Fish I'm pleased you are feeling positive about your self, lucky DH .

I'm thinking of joining an exercise class ekkkk its on the same night as my SW weigh in so I would have to forgo the chat bit after weighing, but I'm not gelling with my consultant so no loss really.
Best do some work ad I have been out if the office for a week and a half

fishandlilacs · 27/04/2011 12:55

Nice to have you all back. I am expecting a gain tonight after my four days in cornwall. I have been a bit poorly-bladder infection ow.

Good luck getting the resolve back after easter and holidays. Straight back on it :)

Hedgepig · 27/04/2011 17:58

how was the yurt? Do tell Grin

fishandlilacs · 27/04/2011 21:34

Ooh it was beautiful- linkey here to the site and if you want to befrind me on t other place you can see the pics-ill pm you the details x

The yurts were on an organic beef and dairy farm, 2 yurts set in a 1 acre field, lovely facilities, big, really clean and nice. log burners and electricy in the yurts Polly the farmers wife was really kind and accomodating. big gas bbq in the field. Lovely beaches nearby, Full fat organic milk on tap-unpasturised. Not diet freindly in the least but delightful and just like old school milk. A lovely welcome basket with cornish fairings Cornish cream tea ingredients, home baked scones, home made jam, clotted cream and an easter egg for the kids laid on when we arrived. Campfires allowd in the evening and only £245 for the 4 days. They gave my sister and her chap the other yurt for nothing as well. They just paid for the wood.

it was delicious, i want to buy a yurt and live in it.

here www.cornishyurts.co.uk/

I can highly recommend it.

Hedgepig · 27/04/2011 22:24

thanks I sent a friend request back. Yurt looks lovely, was it warm? I'm not really a camper as can't be doing with being cold and uncomfortable but it looks like you have a proper bed.

Just ate a hot cross bun Sad but when there are gone they are gone Grin

fishandlilacs · 28/04/2011 09:06

It wasn't cold as a normal tent, but I could have been warmer. If i was going there again I would take a portable fan/halogen heater-the log burners were lovely in the morning but they went out very quickly so keeping them going all night was a trial. Theres electric in the yurts so a heater wouldn't be a problem.

It wasn't at all like camping in a tent, proper floor, loads of room, standing room height and yes proper futons with our own sheets, duvet and pillows. I hate sleeping bags unless I have a double one to myself. Kettle by my head for easy switch on in the morning. Roll over, flick switch, snooze til boiled, then kick DH until he gets up and makes it for me :)

Jynxed · 02/05/2011 00:15

I lost this thread for a while, so very glad to have tracked it down again.

I gained 2 lbs over Easter :( It was mainly due to the social side of having a week off and people over for drinks, hot cross buns and simnel cake. So 5lbs off and then 2lbs back on again!!!!

Trying very hard to get back into the swing of things, but again I shared a bottle of wine with a friend in the garden today, so holidays don't seem good for a diet.

How do people like Kate Middleton stay that slim?? If I wore a dress like her sisters BM dress I would look like the michelin man. Do they just not like food?

fishandlilacs · 03/05/2011 19:36

hah jynxed-she did look amazing though-what a bottom!

glad to have you back, I too have had a crappy rubbish easter for diet, had a great time socially but it's just been too boozy and chocolatey!

Sarahandmolly · 05/05/2011 17:17

Not sure how much longer I will be doing the diet-just found out i'm preg and initial chat with midwife says she thinks it's pointless me spending the money on the group etc. I'll still be about though.

Jynxed · 05/05/2011 21:44
