Ciongrats on your losses all this week folks well done. Sorry if i missed anyone in the hurrahs!
Welcome Jynxed, You are very welcome here. My aim for this thread is to a warm and supportive place, no judgeyness, keep each motivated, share tips and recipes and help out with confusing issues on the diet.
I started this because it is been far from easy for me to do this in the past and I need a nextwork of support to keep me on track. My Mum has recently become type 2 diabetic and it has frightened the bejeeze out of me so I have good reason and motivation.
It is overwhelming when you start-sounds like your consultant may be a bit crap on the meet and greet-way to lose people from the start. My consultant has a volunteer meet and greeter on standby to make sure any newbies feel welcome, make em a cuppa and sit down and chat til she can get to them. Your start sounds a bit rubbish. I am having a bit of girl crush on my consultant she is so good :) Really caring, organised, has all the bases covered.
If you are following extra easy then yes you are allowed only one portion of diary or bread/cereal a day-it seems hard but you must use your free foods to fill you up.
For me a typical day at work is weetabix topped with vanilla mullerlight and fruit. Loads of fruit. Followed by several cups of tea with SS milm from allowance.
I will have fruit again at 11 am break time.
Lunch The biggest jacket potato I can find topped with tuna sweetcorn/baked beans lots of salad and fruit/yogurt to follow.
another fave filling of mine is ctg cheese with grated apple and chunky celery, will have mullerlight or something.
I usually have fruit again at 2pm break
Then when the kids go ( i teach) at 3 I tend to have a syn snack like a packet of quavers and yes youve guessed it more fruit.
dinner will be whatever i fancy-tonight was salmon, with a pack of schwatz garlic, mushroom cream sauce (4.5 syns per pack, shared betwen my family) rice with steamed broccoli and peas. I also had a fairy cake my daughter made-worked out at 2.5 syns
I made a SW orange cheesecake and had that for 9pm munchies 1/2 a syn a portion (i ate 4 portions :)) I also like those mugshots for late night munchies too.
Before bed I have the last glass of milk to use up my allowance.
a day at home will be bacon, quorn sausages, eggs, baked beans grilled toms and mushrooms,
sandwich lunch with ctg cheese or syn free houmos, grated carrot.
Dinner a mountain of SW bolognese and pasta with a bit of reduced fat cheddar.
SW chicken curry sometimes too, I have had chicken kebabs, all sorts of good food. Sunday we had a massive lamb pot roast with saffron and lemon potatoes, recipe from the magazine. It was gorgeous!
I wont say i haven't been hungry at all, but I have HUGE capacity for food and I know that being hungry is also a symptom of sugar addiction, your body likes to trick you to make you crave food to meet the demands for sugar. I tend to think well I have eaten more than enough. i am hungry now but it was only an hour ago I ate four portions of that cheesecake. So i know I shouldn't be hungry.
Sorry for the mahoosive post!
I wish you luck, i promise once you get it in your stride it will feel better.
