Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Hello Shredders!

After foolishly attempting levels 2 and 3 together on Friday, took the day off yesterday as I was knackered!!

Did level 3 today and found it pretty hard going but perservered and swore my way through it!

Was out today and caught sight of myself in a mirror (hate seeing myself in mirrors) and my derriere is most definitely trimmer Grin

Still haven't noticed much improvement on arms or thights, but tummy and bum definitely looking better, yay!!

Momentarynamechange · 06/02/2011 18:36

thights?? thighs

southeastastra · 06/02/2011 18:43

level 3 is mad! i can't do the sit ups without leaning on one arm and my thighs are killing

i think i sweated at least 10 pounds Grin

javotte · 06/02/2011 19:31

threestepsforward my biceps are bigger. I can feelmy abs are stronger but they are still buried under an inch of fat so no visible results. No mirrors to check my bum Wink

conquita · 06/02/2011 23:04

I was doing the 30 day shred in December every day, I finished it on the 15th Jan and have kept it up since, doing a different level each week. I have never left it more then 2 days between exercising. My clothes are continuing to look better and get looser and I feel great.

However, the scales are a different matter entirely, I can put on and lose 3 kilos in two days. So I will measure myself again on the 15th Feb, which will be my second month of using shred. Measuring myself is now my indicator of losing weight. When I weigh myself it makes me feel depressed and dispondent.

I did the Davina DVD yesterday, the one which is an hour long. I found that I was more out of breath after doing 20 mins on the shred then I was after 1 hour with Davina. Although it was good doing something different, it reminded me of doing an aerobics class locally with my mum. Whereas Jillian is wayyyy more intense and you work a hell of a lot harder too.

I think the level of fitness you achieve with Jillian is absolutley amazing. All of you doing this, should be proud of yourselves.

febes · 06/02/2011 23:57

I have done day 3 of level 1 today and I both love and hate it!! No I love it really. I am feel it especially in my abs! I haven't used hand weights yet Blush but they are on order and were dispatched today so should be here soon. I have been low carbing since the beginning of January and haven't felt like much has been happening but since shredding I can see my body shape changing! I also go on a long power walk twice a week and aquasize on a wednesday night. I'm going to try to shred on those days too but it may kill me. I'll see how I go this week.

LostGirl · 07/02/2011 05:10

Hi conquita, good to see you again, glad to hear it is still going well.

For those of you finding the plank twists easy in level 2, make sure you are maintaining a good plank neutral spine position throughout and not sticking your bum up in the air, and concentrate on trying to get your knee past your opposite elbow/shoulder. If you still find them easy by the end of one minute then feel free to congratulate yourself on your superior core strength Grin.

javotte · 07/02/2011 07:54

Hi all! Today is my day off because on Mondays I take DS to his gymnastics class. That's a 4-hour round trip for a 45-mn class Shock
I'm actually looking forward to my next session!

herbaceous · 07/02/2011 08:43

I'm wondering about moving to level 3 today! Getting a bit bored of level 2. I don't mean I find it easy, oh no, but I feel like mixing it up a bit.

As for the plank twists, I find them the very devil. But I've still got remnants of SPD, and the pressure on my symphasis pubis (front of pelvis, right in your 'area') in those and the plank jacks makes my pelvis feel like it's coming apart. Nice. So, I do a few then bow out.

flatmouse · 07/02/2011 08:56

Day 11 (Level 2 day 1) today.
Gosh, it's pouring off me!
I actually much preferred level 2 to level 1 - although i can't pretend that i can do it all! It's also much easier on my damaged calf, and the only cardio move i had to change was the jumping jacks in warm-up.

Looking forward to seeing myself improve on level 2 and do more of the moves. (I am so slow on the walk out press-ups compared to them!).

Phew! Worn out now :)

herbaceous · 07/02/2011 09:54

I found I reached 'beetroot head' stage on level 2 at the second set of abs, whereas at level 1 beetroot head would only come on right at the end. Lord knows when it's going to arrive on level 3!

greenfig · 07/02/2011 10:07

Hi, can I join? Have just got down to target weight following Dukan & on day 2 of shred as REALLY need to tone up! V pleasing to see it works, was v sore after day 1 of level 1Blush

tummytickler · 07/02/2011 10:07

Morning all!
Javotte - ds is 3 years old, so old ebough to be able to occupy himself for 20 minutes, which he can and does, until I want to do something Grin
febes very jealous of you seeing a difference on Day3! I did day 3 yesterday. I feel different, but don't think I look it.
I have started to do a minute here or there at other times to - nothing exciting, just some warm up stuff (windmill arms) or the punching.
Yet to do Day 4. I should do it now, but ds has got fire engines all over the place - maybe later!

kkey21 · 07/02/2011 10:09

Hi Ladies-i 'half' attemepted level 3 on Friday-i tried my best but had already managed my last level 2 so hopefully when tommorow i attempt level 3 it won't be so scary, altho the 'superman moves are so tough!

My measurments are 8" loss overall (altho think i have been pulling that measure in tightly!)

My weight loss in One month is 4lb, from 12st 2 to 11st 12. Slow but going the right way i guess! Altho i drunk my body weight in Tia Maria on Saturday night at a party, so may have popped up a lb or 2 Confused

I am now going to attempt to hide my scales and give it another month and see what the scales say then. I will continue with shredding and also zumba, and maybe even join the gym!

Pinkglow · 07/02/2011 10:17

Did day 3 Level 1 last night and I found it tough on the old arms but I got thtough it!

Found it went quite quickly really.

Momentarynamechange · 07/02/2011 12:15

Hello all,

Grin at Herbaceous and the beetroot head! Definitely happens with me on the twist jumps and skater moves in level 2! How can 30 seconds go so slow???

Javotte, me too, definite biceps emerging on the arms!

My main motivation for the shred was to tone up more than lose weight, and that's certainly worked on teh bum and tummy, and I think I've got trimmer, although pretty sure I haven't lost weight.

Am procrastinating today but have to do it before 2 or I won't be able to do it at all. I'm going away for the weekend on Friday so want to be shredding every day until then Smile

BalloonSlayer · 07/02/2011 13:14

Did Day 2 of Level 3 this morning.

Fucking Ada! Confused

Question She says on the intro that this is a diet and exercise programme. What's the diet bit then? Is it there a book that goes with it?

tummytickler · 07/02/2011 13:51

I still haven't done it today. That means I will have to do it tonight when dc are in bed after roasting a chicken.
kkey21 - well done on your new measurements! I should probably measure myself too (and weigh myself Shock )
BalloonSlayer - no idea about the diet bit.

Momentarynamechange · 07/02/2011 14:51

I'm not sure about the diet bit either BalloonSlayer - perhaps she advocates SHREDDED Wheat - god I'm funny not!

Shredding over with for the day thank god, hope everyone's having a good day Smile

herbaceous · 07/02/2011 15:18

Gnnnn. Just done level 3. In some ways much easier than level 2, and in some ways totally impossible. Things planky still very hard, though getting easier. Found the superman, that thing when you touch the weight on the floor then raise it over your head, squat jumps and the cardio bits quite easy. The rest, WHATTT????

Beetroot head didn't even make an appearance!

However, I could get my come-uppance tomorrow when I shall throw myself into it with more gusto, rather than following Anita!

flatmouse · 07/02/2011 15:52

BalloonSlayer i wondered that too. I presumed it was maybe in the "recommendations" bit on the DVD, but frankly don't want to look at the DVD apart from when actually shredding, so haven't investigated!

I was beetroot from very early on today during first attempt at level 2. (and for a good while after!)

herbaceous · 07/02/2011 15:56

And another thing! During the warm up for level 1, she says she 'always' does hip circles. She then never does them again in level 2 or 3!

tummytickler · 07/02/2011 17:18

Well 5 year old dd has put me to shame! She has enthusiastically completed Level 1 with me, and requestedd to continue to level 2. I am watching Level 2 from the sofa! She is making me laugh.
Dd and ds are really good motivators, but it gets quite difficult when ds sits on you during a sit up!
Hope your day is going well!

DontCallMeBaby · 07/02/2011 22:20

It's all party of her evil plan, isn't it tummytickler - Level 1 is all 'feel like you're going to die, here, have an easy version' and 'I always do lovely, easy hip circles' and then you get onto Level 2 and it's 'mwahaha, I want you guys to feel like you're going to die, and like you're gargling your heart ... and hip circles are a thing of the past, suckers!'

Ahem. :o

This evening I have been looking up the gastrocnemius (calf) muscle - my calf muscle has always been a bit of a flat slab at the back, but now I can feel the two distinct parts of the muscle. I'm so looking forward to discovering other muscles!

tummytickler · 07/02/2011 22:27

Dontcallmebaby Grin at the moment watching level 2 is preferable to doing it!

oooh - muscles - I can't wait to feel muscles.
