Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Reporting back from the trenches ladies, having had my first encounter with 6W6P.

Inspired by Flatmouse I used 3 kg and tried the hard version of everything (didn't add the additional weight in one hand for the sit ups though!) Thought the first time round was relatively easy....but was pretty sweaty by the time I had finsihed the second! The side planks are pretty tough, although I have done a fair amount of pilates, which I have realised helps with a lot of the moves on this one. I went on to do the first half of level 2 as well and now and pretty knackered. Good though Grin Think it requires more coordinanation than either the Shred or BFBM.

knottyhair · 04/04/2011 16:56

Wowee, notyummy, 1 and a half lots of 6W6P! That's going some! Think I ought to get some 3kg weights - I use 2kg at the moment for everything, and although I'm still OK with these for most of the Shred (although the dumbbell cleans in L3 are too easy), I think I need heavier ones for 6W6P. early, glad you're feeling better. I think that's the way to go with the treats, don't deprive yourself, have a little bit and like you say, sit down and savour it properly Smile!

DontCallMeBaby · 04/04/2011 17:05

Well, that made a change - thought I'd get today's workout out of the way while DD is at Rainbows, now I am FREEEE for the rest of the day! :o

Went back to Level 1 of the Shred. Mrs Beetroot-Head did not put in an appearance ... still not a walk in the park though, and upping the weights is haaaard.

As no one is in, I am in sports bra and crops, couldn't be bothered with a top. I learned two things. One, my stomach looks surprisingly good when bouncing about doing star jumps. Two, my stomach looks bloody awful in all other positions (notably plank and bicycle crunches). I dread to think what it would have looked like six months ago.

TooTiredToArgue · 04/04/2011 19:58

Evening all

Right, have shredded (Day 2, Level 2) and the good news is.......I'm still alive! Just about, though thought I might die a couple of times.

Thank you Conquita for your kind words of encouragement. I'm going to put those negative thoughts aside and concentrate of doing this Shred every night and I'm sure I will see a change in my shape (eventually).

Still a bit confused with a few of the exercises. In the first lot of weight exercises, Natalie and Anita seem to be pulling the weight in slightly different directions - does Jillian say to do a 'rowing' motion?

And the last agonizing plant twist thingy - I surely can't be doing it right. Is there a knack to it, that I obviously don't have? Mind you, I never mastered the last abdominal exercise in level 1 either.

TooTiredToArgue · 04/04/2011 20:23

plant twist thingy? Make that plank twist thingy. Grin

Hi All,

A little bit of negativity creeping in today girls!! Let's get rid of that attitude eh? We are all doing well and we will all see changes. We all need to be more patient!! We just need to keep going.

"The scales say I've lost 5lbs this week (go me) but the mirror doesn't" actually I don't think the scales are lieing. I do think your memory is. This is the beauty of the tape measure/photograph isn't it?

I know I have got smaller as the tape measure says so and the scales and my clothes BUT to look in the mirror I see more fat than when I started and that's just madness. It isn't true. There is less flab. But, I am more aware of it now and more frustrated by its presence as I can now feel a wall of muscle underneath and I want to see it.

Early your soreness doesn't sound good if it's painful to walk on. I had trouble with my left calf through most of 30DS but it was only muscular.

Can you steal some cardio to use in place of the jumpy ones, like the boxing move. I had a superquick google and found who has a couple of moves you could subtitute but at least you could continue.

Did 6W6P L1 D15 today. I use 3kg except for the long lever crunches when i use 1.5kg, and I just about managed (it wasn't pretty!) to actually sit up for the 'get ups' with just my hand on the floor. It is making a difference as I didn't used to be anywhere near doing them and I wasn't so sweaty today, although I was freezing when I started....

Tootired I usually follow Anita as I think she has a better form than Nadalee. I found I was a bit 'bum high' in that last exercise so i shoved it down more, but in general it was my arms and shouldes that hurt.Confused

And remember that 'perfect body' we see everywhere, you know the ones that belong to the slebs, they don't exist. Its all airbrushed and photoshopped so please don't compare yourself. Just trust that you'll get your body to the best you can, it might just take a while, but we'll get there!!Grin

messagetoyourudy · 05/04/2011 09:25

Can I just jump in and let you know my so far success story?

I have been doing the 30 day shred for about 2 months now - I don't do it everyday as I just can't seem to find the time on the days I work ( I don't manage to muster much once kids are in bed, other than a glass of wine!)

But I have been doing it 4 times a week. I have only lost 3lbs BUT the tapemeasure says:
2cm off each thigh
5cm of hips
3cm off waist
1cm off bust

I put on a size 12 dress the other day that I bought when I was half a stone lighter than now and guess what it fits!

I would never of thought it when my old mind set of loosing weight was the main goal. If I look in the mirror I still see the same me but clearly thing are changing.

keep going everyone.

notyummy · 05/04/2011 09:30

Great results Rudy!

I can report a achy mid-section from my prolonged 6W6P session yesterday. My only issue is that my mid-section is actually already one of the best parts of my body . I think I am not far from Anita's abs already. It is my ARSE that is the issue!! I will do 6W6P anyway just because I know you are supposed to change your workout to challenge your body, yada....yada - and it IS fat burning. But will it burn the fat off my arse, eh? Will it??

afternoon all

have just done level 2, day 4 i think, should be day 8 but i've been alternating L1 and L2 days to avoid repetitive strain on the ol' joints. was quite astonished at the amount of sweat! am v proud of self though cos i managed to do all of it and not phone it in once :o

early i do exactly the same thing - squats instead of side lunges/pendulum lunges because i find it impossible to keep really good form with so much going on! sometimes i do wide legged ones, sometimes pulsing ones just to keep it different.

rudy well done!! i've been going nearly a month - hanging in there for some changes.

hope you're all having positive happy days?

L3 Day 2 here and my landlady just came upstairs to tell me not to stop jumping around!

Now I don't know what to do Sad

Leverkusen · 05/04/2011 17:45

I've no idea why that put me in such a bad mood. I will have today as a rest day and ask her when a better time is for me to jump all over her ceiling!

TooTiredToArgue · 05/04/2011 22:33

Evening all

Just back from rare night out, but glad to report that fitted in my shred before I went out, so another day to tick off (Day 3, Level 2).

Didn't feel quite so dreadful afterwards, though definitely a beetroot head at the end. Can't understand how the 2nd set of cardio can be quite so knackering, and don't think I will ever be able to do both sets of plank jacks....

Anyone else noticed that Natalie never speaks, just nods and grins inanely. Definitely teacher's pet though, isn't she?

Leverkusen - sorry to hear about your landlady. What a pain.

Well done, everyone else. You're all doing really well. Smile Keep it up!

BalloonSlayer · 06/04/2011 10:45

I have just done Level 1 Shred followed by Level 1 6W6P !!

< bows for applause >

< crawls upstairs to bath >

knottyhair · 06/04/2011 10:49

I bow down to you BalloonSlayer, bloody hell! I was feeling proud of doing 4 circuits of BFBM Blush.

Leverkusen · 06/04/2011 11:01

landlady has said I can't do any jumping at all, which I can understand because it must be so annoying.
It's so frustrating to be on day 22 though! I tried to do the shred without the cardio, and just did things from level 2 in those times, but it wasn't very good.

flatmouse · 06/04/2011 12:18

BalloonSlayer and notyummy you're just showing off now!
Well done everyone else.
Leverkusen :(

Didnt Shred/6W6P yday as don't have time on a Tuesday - will do today though.

notyummy · 06/04/2011 12:47

Well done Balloonslayer! I hadn't thought of mixing them together like that....what a good idea. Although that is usually my 'long run' day, as the only day when I have time.

TooTiredToArgue · 06/04/2011 12:57

Sun is shining and have had to tighten belt on jeans by one hole. That's a nice feeling. Smile

Can't wait to shred later - it really is slightly addictive, isn't it?

Well done BalloonSlayer!

BalloonSlayer · 06/04/2011 13:01

I only did the two because I didn't manage to do anything yesterday. I am very pleased with myself for managing it but [shallow] even more pleased that I sweated off three quarters of a pound while doing it!

I think I might do it like this more often. I had to wash all my clothes as they were soaking!

Leverkusen what about getting 6W6P? There's not a lot of jumping in that. There are some plank jacks and mountain climbers but I think that's about it.

knottyhair · 06/04/2011 13:31

Well done on the belt tightening, TooTired - what a great feeling Smile!
