Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy
:)

ooh haggis thank you too! got halfway through post and had to sort dd out. to be honest i do the lower impact/anita version of cardio mainly because i shred while the baby's asleep and i don't want to wake her up with pounding around! i reckon i get plenty of cardio charging around to and from school with toots in her buggy. and actually, i enjoy the cardio as a break from the strength stuff! it comes as a total relief. good luck with your muffin top assault - me too! three babies does your waistline no good. right. baby snoozing, off to shred! xx

gracelesslady · 01/04/2011 12:03

hurray! shredded! level 1, not too sore in the knees.

has anyone else noticed that anita and natalie both get a right sweat on very quickly? i reckon someone must come and spray them with something because people as fit as that sure can't get that sweaty that quickly?! Grin

notyummy · 01/04/2011 12:06

6W6P arrived today! Just been for 9 mile run though so will save it for Monday (am going away for weekend, but hotel has gym so I am taking my stuff!) I would also love to try the Rip it in 30 and Yoga ones, but I think they are only available in region one at the moment.

Momentarynamechange · 01/04/2011 12:15

Graceless, hang in there. I think it took me about 2.5 weeks before I started noticing things were baggier, but not really until later still when I actually knew I looked better. I never weighed or measured myself to start with so, was just from the feel of clothes. Don't worry if you weigh more on the scales, as muscle weighs more than fat. I agree though, it is disheartening when you feel like you're putting all the effort in, and more, and you're not seeing any improvements. It will suddenly start coming together though and you'll be Grin (and start becoming Jillian evangelical - if you're not already!!)

Momentarynamechange · 01/04/2011 12:15

baggier = refers to clothes and not my body, hopefully...

BalloonSlayer · 01/04/2011 13:19

Well done everyone!

Jellibelli I loved your posts - you are inspirational, or "aspirational" as Jillian would say Hmm Grin

Did my second day of 6W6P today and enjoyed it again. Still cannot do those side planks, my foot just slides along the floor, and consequently I nearly ruptured my fanjo this morning. I've replaced it with the last abs things from level 3 shred . . . they look a bit similar, they'll have to do. Confused

Both days I have done 6W6P I have been disappointed when I have looked in the mirror as my tummy feels so toned afterwards I think it ought to look different when I have finished! Well I expect it will one day, if I work hard enough.

JelliBelli · 01/04/2011 13:47

Hi All,

Graceless if it's just the pendulum lunges that are tricky for you in L2 I would either do them slowly, taking time to align properly but keeping moving or just substitue that whole exercise with one from L1. As long as you are still moving and keeping the heartrate up i think you will be fine. Perhaps not ideal but hey ho. Stick with though, I am sure it will be worth it and you'll see a change soon.

I think fit people do sweat quite easily as their bodies are used to getting overheated and quickly kick in the mechanisms to cool the body ie they sweat.

Am scared by yummy's 9 mile runShock but have fab weekend.

Thanks Balloonslayer BlushBlush. I can't do the side planks either unless I wedge my foot against furniture and then my thighs are fine its my shoulder and arm that ache...

JelliBelli · 01/04/2011 14:05

Just popped back to say I have a variety of weights that I have to hand (0.5kg, 1.5kg and 3kg) that I choose between depending on the exercise. I don't think I use the 0.5kg now but could use a 5kg one the one handed squat thing on 30DS L3 (i think).

It made it easier to keep on going when, for instance, doing the side lunge with anterior raises I would just swap down a weight when I could feel I was at my limit and would otherwise have to stop. Good job Jillian wasn't in the room as she would shout at me Shock and make me carry on dispite the wobbliness and lack of form!!

notyummy · 01/04/2011 14:09

Jelli - that is exactly what I do with the weights. Mostly 3 kg, but I need the 1.5 for the squat and v raise! (And the 5kg for the squat and press.)

Hi early, I only just joined the thread too. Am on L2 day 7. Feel aa bit disheatened as I have lost no weight, but SIL has just lost 20lbs in 2 months on WW without exercise. Pah.
But I know I will see a change soon and then I shall prance about the streets naked showing off my new figure!

Anyway, yes it does get easier. I found L1 hard until day 9, when I suddenly found a new burst of energy and found it quite easy(ish).

It is so addictive. I HATE level 2 though, and cannot wait for level 3

flatmouse · 01/04/2011 14:30

BalloonSlayer 'aspirational' has been irritating me ... it has irritated me to such an effect i actually looked it up online to see if valid use of the word as was going to take the p* on here about it!

Welcomes early keep going :) IT GET'S EASIER! (kind of)

JelliBelli · 01/04/2011 14:46

Me too, Flatmouse, wrt 'aspirational' as although Bea may have aspirations I think Jillian means 'inspirational' to us.

Somehwere I think she also says "exhale, inhale, hale, inhale" which irritates me eac time.

Hi Early, well done and stick with it, it does become less hard and harder at the same timeGrin.

knottyhair · 01/04/2011 14:56

Oh thank god someone else picked up on "aspirational" - I thought I was only one screaming at the telly "INSPIRATIONAL... IT'S INSPIRATIONAL!!". Well not screaming exactly, I don't have the breath for that.

gracelesslady · 01/04/2011 18:03

thanks for all the encouragement everyone!! i'm hanging in there and keeping going. after i shredded i took dd out for a 45 min yomp before school pick up - knackered and sweaty by the time i got to school so must have been decent cardio!

also, although i haven't seen any measurable improvement, when i had my period last week i had significantly less pain in my pelvic joints than i usually do, which i can only put down to stronger muscles! also, my job involves a fair bit of moving around and bending down to the floor and back up, and i've noticed that it's a lot easier. so it is all improving, i'm just an impatient woman!!

hi early and leverkusen! i'm a newbie too :O

gracelesslady · 01/04/2011 18:03

ooh that went wrong. i think i meant :o

DontCallMeBaby · 01/04/2011 18:28

I had no biscuits! :)

Right now I am sitting next to a little cat with a raging temperature (I have a dining chair, he has the office chair, which he took two attempts to jump into, poor little chap). I will endeavour not to comfort eat cos my poor kitty is sick! I might give 6W6P a go in a little while ...

TooTiredToArgue · 01/04/2011 18:35

Evening all

Feeling rather smug. Have shredded (with new 1kg weights), showered, and have Wine in hand Smile. It's my first drink of the week and going down very well indeed

Arms feel a bit wobbly as my new weights are considerably heavier than the old tins of beans, but I feel so pleased with myself for having done it.

I think officially I'm day 9, level 1. Do you think I need to carry on with Level 1 a bit longer and get used to these weights before making the massive and scary leap to level 2? Or go back to cans to start with? Can't decide. Think deep down I'm just scared!

DH commented that I was looking quite 'slinky' tonight, so I'll take that as a good sign. DS2 intrigued with my new weights. 'Why you do exercise Mummy?', he asked. Good question, I thought, panting and sweating.....

Welcome newcomers. I was you just last week!

JelliBelli · 01/04/2011 18:51

Well done Dontcall. Even declining the previous pleasures (of biscuits etc) brings me a degree of satisfaction now Grin.

Tootired I just moved up after day10 and just used the lighter weight the first time and on the repeat picked up the heavier if I thought I could manage it. I just review it each day and fight the temptation to go back down a weight after I have managed the heavier weight.

I don't think we will ever complete a workout saying "oh that was such a breeze" and if we did we'd have wasted our time somewhat. I have come to terms that I need to feel like 'that' when exercising to keep making progress.

I had to pop to the post office today so I came home via the hundred steps (I usually avoid that way home) to see how I could manage. I ran all the way up. Was jolly pleased!

Anyway I had an early start today, well I ignored my alarm for a while, so i need to 6W6P as I didn't do it first thing. back later

well done lottie! you sound like you need a night off and then you can come back tomorrow a bit rested and ready to shred again :)

tootired, i really REALLY wish we had some wine in, but dh is training for a marathon so i'm supporting him in not drinking. Brew for me then... enjoy your Wine!!!

jelli hurray for the hundred steps! woo hoo for you! (i'm imagining you getting to the top and doing that fighting jumping around thing like in rocky!!)

DontCallMeBaby · 01/04/2011 19:56

Okay, first 6W6P done. Not actually too bad (although I have learned that I MUST do mountain climbers ON THE MAT, the carpet is looking a bit sorry for itself). I like the stretches for this one ... still can tell I'm going to feel it in my shoulders tomorrow.

Supposed to be having a night off tomorrow - dinner and wine with friends, but we're staying at theirs so can only really go IF the cat is better. That means being sure that he's had a wee, and I have a horrible feeling him and his brother have escaped, so we're not going to know. :S

TooTiredToArgue · 01/04/2011 20:35

Graceless - have moved on to the [tea] now. Think Wine had gone off a bit, actually, but, hey ho, mustn't grumble! Will soon be joining you on Level 2 - debating day off tomorrow, so perhaps Sunday might be the day....

Jelli - well done on the steps, and for the advice. You're right, I should just go for it.

Baby - Talking of cats, hope yours turn up soon Smile

JelliBelli · 01/04/2011 20:53

LL 50lbs!!! Wow you go girl!! That is seriously impressive. Enjoy the dress up session and let us know how you get on.

Grace no i didnt do the rocky jumpy thing at the top because a) I was out of puff and b) there were workman fixing the roof of the house at the top of the steps and they would've fallen off the roof in surprise.

lizardqueenie · 01/04/2011 21:46

Evening all! Posting from phone so apologies for any mistakes- day one shred done as it arrived from amazon this morning & dh nipped off to bluewater this evening having seen the boots mothersday advert & I guess thought he should make an effort for my 1st m's day!
Found it tough going & sweaty- know I'm going to hurt like hell tomoz. As I'm still carrying a lot of heff & concerned about knees and bp ( I sound like my nan!) going to alternate it with postnatal Pilates DVD every other day. Used 1.5kg weights & my arms feel all jellyfied! Also delighted that nothing jumped off of my mantelpiece as I was sure I would cause subsidence with the jumping jacks!
