Thank you all for the congrats, its really boosting my confidence and making me more determined!

Trying the theory from the programme on the iplayer and have had a boiled egg and slice of toast for breakfast (protien to keep my full longer) and haveing a banana smoothie made with 1% fat milk (low ft dairy) and im making smooth veg soup for lunch ( to take longer to digest to be fuller for longer). Will report if it works.

Well done to all of you for the exercise and thread determiation! Im gonna blitz the house work today an i will shred at some point!

Yesterday DP clocked the distance from the school to my house and its 1 mile! So i walk 4 miles a day twice a week and 6 miles 3 days a week, did not think it was that far so im sure it will all help in weight loss!

GandTiceandaslice · 12/01/2011 09:59

I have ordered the Shred DVD. Oh god, will I die?! Grin

I have wii fit but really I need to do a good hour on that & wilth the demonic toddler, that can be quite hard.

20 mins of shred I can fit in.

Shaxx · 12/01/2011 10:04

I have already shredded this morning! I love it when its over and done with. I think I'm on day 6 but it might be 7. I can't remember!

I've had a banana and porridge this morning. I think that porridge must act like soup as it definitely keeps me full for a while.

I've got carrot and coriander soup (home made) for lunch today and I'm having some kind of chicken with salad for dinner.
I've got my book club tonight and hosting a coffee morning tomorrow so I'm baking a honey and poppyseed cake today to take round and have tomorrow. I've vowed that I'm only going to have a very slim slice!

I'm joining you in a cleaning blitz today Buda! My house is a tip.

Have a good day everyone!

Shaxx · 12/01/2011 10:06

GandT you might struggle the first time but by day 3, you'll be fine Smile

You'll love that its onlt 20mins AND gives excellent results!

thedogwalker · 12/01/2011 10:54

Hi all

Well done thinbride, so happy for you.

Think there must be something in the air, as I have been spring cleaning all morning, then come on here, to see that everybody is doing the same. Mind you it burns off calories doing housework.

Know what you mean Dinky reference the exercise DVDs, Ive got the shred, started it last week, but so far I've oly managed it every other day, there always seems to be other stuff to do. However, I do go out with the pram and dog everyday for a nice walk. I must motivate myself to do the shred everyday Hmm

Buda, I agree with you on the flavoured yoghurt versus plain with fresh fruit, the latter being far better for you, as the sugars in the fruit yoghurt will be synthetic and hard for the liver to process. Oh give me fresh strawberries any day, yum yum.

Right then, house cleaned, time for shred Grin

I shred rather than clean. I?m such a slattern Blush

dinkystinky · 12/01/2011 12:12

Me too (well work and exercise rather than clean) justaminute Blush

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 12/01/2011 12:18

House clean but no shred! I have to go to take ds to playgroup, then go pay the deposit to book wedding venue and lastly off to boots to pick up dp prescription. By that time i will be nearly due to go back to the school and im picking up 2 dc my friends ds and another friends dd, then off to ballet practice with dd and wont get in till 5pm

Maybe before i go in a bath tonight and well after i have digested dinner!

thedogwalker · 12/01/2011 12:27

Baby fed, put in bed for his 2 hours afternoon nap and Shred done. Now me thinks I need lunch, oh what to have Hmm. Plus I'm nackered Blush

Then it will be a nice walk with baby and dog this afternoon, before making dinner ready for DH to come home, oh how he will hate it when I go back to work after maternity leave and he has to share the making dinner duties Grin

Thinbride, you seem to do lots of walking, that is great exercise, it's amazing how quickly the miles clock up.

Hope everyone is having a good day and staying the zone.

I would also rather shred play on the pc than do the housework! Wink

justaminute · 12/01/2011 21:02

you've ashamed me into doing some housework this pm. I've changed the beds, cleaned the ensuite, cooked dinner AND done the shred [smug emoticon]

sadly the smugness hasn't lasted long I've had a glass of red with dinner and more than one jaffa cake - woops!

Buda · 13/01/2011 08:50

Morning all!

Well I didn;t Shred yesterday but I will today I promise. With Tena Lady! I did a strength and endurance session instead. Otherwise known as trying to walk 2 labs at the same time. Nightmare.

Anyway. Food wise was OK yesterday. Except for ONE chocolate. Breakfast was granola with extra nuts and seeds. Lunch was carrot and lentil soup and 2 ryvita crackers with cheese and an apple, snack was a slice of rye bread and a banana, dinner was sausage and lentil casserole. Had 2 white wine sodas and 2 glasses of red though.

DH came home steaming angry with the architect so I had to calm him down which involved a nice bottle of red with dinner.

He is out tonight so no alcohol will be consumed. Need to plan dinner though. When he is out I normally have pasta with DS but can't do that tonight.

Housework on plan for today here. Well decluttering really. Along with the usual kitchen tidying, washing, putting washing away etc etc etc.

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

noddyholder · 13/01/2011 08:54

I so need this but what is shred?

Buda · 13/01/2011 09:11

HI noddy! Shred is an exercise DVD bu Jillian Michaels. She is the straight talking, tough trainer from The Biggest Loser. Apparently gives great results but it is hard.

noddyholder · 13/01/2011 09:16

Oh god I walk like a loony round and round our local park when I am trying to lose weight. It is the eating crap i need to stop i am still eating like its xmas!

Buda · 13/01/2011 09:40

I started eating like it's xmas from October! As a result have gained 10lbs!

Get rid of the crap! This week I am concentrating on not eating crap but eating the proper, healthy foods I should be eating. Next week I will cut down portions. Can't do both together as I then obsess and binge.

dinkystinky · 13/01/2011 09:41

Morning all and hi Noddy - nice to see you! Bin the crap Noddy and back to basics (lots of water, soup, fruit for snacks or those godawful corn thing things and up the park laps) and you'll be back to your pre-xmas self - you've done it before, you can do it again.

Shaxx · 13/01/2011 09:42

My book club last night was a calorie consumption disaster. The host had got samosas and drinks and a friend had brought round home made choc brownies.

Back to strictness today!

Hi Noddy. Stop eating crap! Its time to get healthy......

Hope everyone has a good day today.

iluvcake · 13/01/2011 10:23

Hi all. Feel as if I'm out of the loop as I haven't been on here for a few days-it's been a busy old thread!!

Well done, thinbride-you are doing SO well and living up to your name. So pleased for you.

I am feeling bit crappy this week, have PMT which has come back with a vengeance because of my sugar consumption recently. Am also having problems sleeping so I'm an all-round-misery-guts at the moment. I have weighed myself every morning and I keep yo-yoing back and forth from 9st9 to 9st10, up and down, up and down. I know it's not that heavy but my problem is my tummy. I can honestly look about 6 months pregnant in the evening. I watched the prog on i-player re weight loss and all the talk of visceral fat terrified me. My dad and brother both have type 2 diabetes as wellSad. I'm scared I will go the same way. I have been eating well this week, I've just had biscuits and chocolate as well.

I finding it tough and think all the eating of sugar over Christmas has messed me up again. I need to dig deep and get back in the zone.

The pole dancing fitness class I mentioned has been cancelled but I have started on a street dance course instead which I love . Still haven't managed to start shredding again (not since 20th Dec) but am still doing pilates and bootcamp (think that is the only thing stopping the weight going on more).

Everyone sounds as if they are doing really well. Keep up the good work and hopefully I'll soon be bounding back on feeling more positive.

p.s. Am very impressed with all the spring cleaning and shredding going on!!

dinkystinky · 13/01/2011 10:44

Iluv - STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES! Daily weighing is no good what soever for you. My tummy area is also my problem zone - and I do alot of exercise (generally over 5 hours a week). Some of it is bloating (wheat consumption can make me look pretty pregnant) - and when premenstrual I bloat right up.

I find for me rather than focusing on scales, focusing on what I'm eating (so I dont get sugar highs and lows) and how my clothes are fitting is better. The best way to govern your shape when you are an apple is by combining a sensible calorie controlled diet, cutting out the bloaty foods (and sugar is one of those!), drinking lots of water, doing lots of cardio (to get into fat burning mode) plus strength work - so your combination of dance, pilates and bootcamp is good but you need ot add in some weights work. Chuck out the chocolates and cake (or only buy stuff for others that you cant stand) and hit that sugar craving with some fruit instead. It will work, I promise. Mind you, I'm on my period this week and suffering water retention from hell (my fingers ressemble sausages) so not really feeling that great either.

noddyholder · 13/01/2011 12:14

Thanks all I need the bullying!Just walked to town which is quite far but all flat!back with healthy stuff.M and S have a new range all under 100 calories corn chips etc so got those. And a cheese and celery sandwich in the healthy range low cal and its yum.water to drink no starbucks!

Buda · 13/01/2011 13:23

Well done noddy. I can walk miles if it is flat. Hate hills. And I live in the Buda hills!

Just be a bit careful with the M&S stuff. Not sure if you read further up the thread but lots of low-fat stuff can be full of sugar and chemicals which actually make it harder to lose weight for some people.

I took dogs for a walk. Used a new thing on the younger one to stop her pulling and OMG! A revelation! Was able to do a long walk with a big hill. She still almost tripped me up a few times but I can see it getting easier and that in a month or so I will be striding out with both of them. Yay!

Very hungry today for some reason. It's cold and miserable here so that might be why. Eating good stuff though. Just been craving something sweet so had an orange!

noddyholder · 13/01/2011 13:27

Have just checked packets and all ok!Am guzzling grapes atm.I usually do no carbs but have found it impossible to stick at this time so am upping the exercise and eating less normal food x

Buda · 13/01/2011 15:05

I thought I remembered that you were a no carber. I have done it in the past but like you find it impossible to stick to now. I am doing no crap carbs. Nothing made with flour or sugar, no rice or potatoes. Lots of veg, fruit, protein and pulses.

Once I get into it i feel so much better that I wonder why I don't eat like that all the time!

noddyholder · 13/01/2011 15:38

I know!I am still at the srage where everything in the cupboard looks delicious Hmm.I look so much better lighter than I am atm and have to get reasonable by spring!
