Sorry thinbride, I was just asking a question, as I cannot get the programme, so had no idea what was actually said on it. Hope I didn't offend you.

DH away for the next few days, which means I will stick to healthy eating much better. He is a mare, he always gets hungry about 9pm and then he raids the cheese board and whatever else he can find, which then tempts me as we both really like our cheese. So at least without him there is no temptation, as I don't snack on naughty foods when he isn't around.

Hope everyone has had a good day x

dogwalker, dont be daft not offended< just had visions of you all thinking i was glugging yogurt and cheese thinking it was gonna zap my fat! (i wish)

Was about to shred when DP popped out so got to wait till he comes back so i can do it (it all set up and ready).

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 16/01/2011 19:40

Just shredded and feel like road kill now!

Glad its over, and plan to do it again before school run, but that may be a little optimistic!

thedogwalker · 16/01/2011 20:33

Thinbride - That's exactly how I felt after my first time, it gets better, I promise, says me who's only been doing it for just over a week Blush

OP posts:
Shaxx · 16/01/2011 20:47

Well done thinbride for getting back on track.
Well done to everyone else who's been able to be good.

I need a good arse kicking.
Have had a lovely weekend but its been very bad for the diet.
Meal out last night then ils come round today with lots of Asian deep fried and baked goodies. I can't resist them. I'd made a cake for their visit so have been munching on that. And we also tried some Polish bread which is very yummy so have had lots of toast.
Plus I've done no exercise as I have this wretched cough which is making me feel crap.

Should I just not eat for the next 3 days?

iluvcake · 16/01/2011 21:49

Hi all.

Well done on the shredding thinbride, it does get easier!

Shaxx, my weekend has not been great either. AF this week and have been feeling lousy and in need of comfort (ie I want to eat stodge and sugarHmm).Ate quite a lot yesterday but decided to get back on track today only to have a last minute Sunday lunch invitation from friends. Twas a delicious meal but not exactly low in fat and she had made a gorgeous dessert. Asked for a small piece (felt I couldn't refuse as she had MADE it!). Also had wine but only one glass.

Need to draw a line under all this biffing. Am hoping to go out for a run tomorrow morning and start shredding again. I'm desperate to get well and truly back in the zone.

Tomorrow is a new day and a brand new start. Let's all start (those of us who have been biffing!) afresh and have some good losses to share on Friday.

Buda · 17/01/2011 08:26

Hello. I have been SHIT. SHIT I tell you. Gah.

No more. Today I will be good. I will be good.

Have just had porridge and a banana for breakfast.

Am about to take dogs for walk and then am going for a facial at 11.15

Having chicken and chickpeas dish for dinner. We had roast chicken yesterday so have lots of chicken to pick at today if hungry.

Have constant heartburn at the moment too from all the crap I am eating. I don't get that if I eat properly.

I will find the time later to read back through my posts from when I started this last year and see if they inspire me.

dinkystinky · 17/01/2011 08:39

OI BIFFERS, STOP BIFFING! DOES IT MAKE YOU HAPPY? NO. SO WHY DO IT?

Its fine to have occasional treats - and well done Iluv for stopping at one glass of wine and a small piece of desert - but you need to draw a line under it, get some exercise in (to create a dent in that calorie consumption some how) and refocus on your weight loss goals - and that treat you've promised yourself in mid Feb if you can reach your mini goal by then.

noddyholder · 17/01/2011 09:48

greedy weekend but am up and on a mission today.Off to buy some scales Hve had a coffee and a yoghurt feel so puffed up and hideous but what do i expect after a huge roast and apple pie covered in cream!

thedogwalker · 17/01/2011 10:02

Hi all

Well thankfully I had a biffing free zone yesterday, always do when DH is away Grin

Day 2 of the shred and that was hard. Plan on doing it everyday, as it says to instead of the every other day I was doing.

Yikes just had call from my bank, some F*ker, has cloned my card and ran up over 2 grand, not a happy bunny. Easy to prove not me though, as I live in Germany and the transactions were all done yesterday 2 in the UK and 1 in USA????? It really upsets me, I work hard for my money and other people just think they have the right to take what isn't theirs, oh if I could get my hands on them Hmm there's no telling what I would do.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just so annoyed. Will chanel the frustration into more exercise.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

OP posts:
iluvcake · 17/01/2011 10:51

thedogwalker, that is so crap, the w***s. It happened to me recently too, I know what you mean about feeling so angry that someone else has just helped themselves to your cash...Angry on your behalf. Well done on your biffing free weekend though!

Well, I've had a good start, went for a run straight after the school run and then shredded when I got home. Just sitting down with porridge and pu erh tea. I have added manuka honey to my porridge. It's very high is carbs and is sweet-any thoughts on this? Whether or not it would be better to avoid even though it's very good for you?

Buda, I get heartburn too if I eat too much crap and acid reflux as well. it's like your body is telling you to stop eating rubbish!

Come on everyone, it's a brand new week, let's start as we mean to go on. Drink a big glass of water if you feel like biffing. Get lots of fruit and snacks of nuts down you-AVOID THE CRAP AND YOU KNOW YOU WILL SEE RESULTS ON FRIDAY!!!

thedogwalker · 17/01/2011 11:05

iluv, if the honey is pure honey, then a little will do you no harm. Because it is pure, the liver can digest it very easily so it won't be in your system for long. If it is full of additives etc, then the liver wont like it and will treat it as a toxin and that means it will get rid of it but at the expense of using up all its time, so other food stuffs get stored in the meantime. Same as everything the purer the better.
Do you know that cinnamon, actually boosts the metabolic rate, similar to hot chilies. Not by a lot, but it does help. I do have a thesis on it if anybody is interested, so if you want to sweeten porridge etc, use ground cinnamon Smile

OP posts:
GandTiceandaslice · 17/01/2011 11:21

I just had cinnamon in my porridge! Grin

dinkystinky · 17/01/2011 11:39

TDW, that's rubbish. If its any consolation I got hacked last night too so am having to sort out changing cards/accounts etc and also notifying everyone I am NOT asking them to send me money.

iluvcake · 17/01/2011 11:41

thanks for that! Just had a look and it's 100% pure manuka honey. I do put cinammon on as well as I did read that it boosts your metabolism. How much are we talking though? I only use maybe half a teaspoon.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 17/01/2011 12:05

TDW thats crap! Theving barstewards that they are.

Been good today and most of yesterday but now im scared of my weigh in tomorrow as i ate a load of biscuits and crap on sat and a few roses yest! Its my own bloody fault. Im thinking of not going back to WW after tomorrow, but doing it at home because i really cant afford the £6 a week, as thats £25 a month i could be putting towards buying stuff for the wedding!

God i must sound really tight, but really every pennie i have towards this helps as its all so expensive.

thedogwalker · 17/01/2011 13:05

Thinbride, I only got married 18 months ago and we spent 30 grand, now I look back and think what on Shock, so I know how every penny counts. Thankfully we already had over 20 of that saved up, so we really penny pinched for the last bit so that we didn't start married life with a debt. Next thing to look forward to is the guest list and the monaing from people who aren't invited or the ILs protesting for them. Good luck with that Grin

iluv, only half teapsoon of cinammon or of the honey? Not sure whic you meant. I will look up the stuff I have on cinammon and post a bit on here.

Have a nice day everyone.

OP posts:
Buda · 17/01/2011 13:05

TDW and dinky - how shit. Crikey. Both of you in one weekend. TDW - any idea how your card was cloned? Dinky - how were you hacked? All a bit scary. I am quite blase about using my card on-line although only well known sites but still. It seems to be very easy for them to do this sort of thing.

Well didn't manage to walk dogs as a guy came to fix the shower doors so I had to stay. One of the reasons the showers leak and always have done is that the hinges were on backwards! And the heavy glass shower door surrounds are not fixed to the walls properly and could come away at any time! Great. That is now being dealt with - just need to break news to landlord! And tell him he needs to pay for it!

Having ongoing arguments with architect in UK too. Nothing is ever easy!!

On the good side - I had a lovely facial!

Have just had a slice of rye bread and some goats cheese and avocado for lunch with a slice of turkey. Am still a bit hungry so will have a glass of water and an apple and a green tea and see if that helps.

Have that dry throat that you get just before you get a cold too. May have a spoonful of manuka honey to see if it helps and dose myself with vitamins.

thedogwalker · 17/01/2011 13:34

Here is a bit on sweeteners and honey, still looking for the cinammon stuff, will post when I find it

· People who use artificial sweeteners are usually heavier than those who don?t use them. This may be linked to increased hunger signals that are sent to the brain and increased ?sweet cravings? that lead to overeating.

· People who use artificial sweeteners are more likely to be ?insulin resistant? because their insulin receptors are (in a sense) confused all the time. Your body is thinking ?What is this fake stuff you?re giving me? Is it food? Is it not? I don?t know what you want me to do with it???leading to blood sugar and insulin imbalance.

· People who use artificial sweeteners are TWICE as likely to get Type 2 Diabetes than people who don?t use artificial sweeteners. TWICE? ?People who use artificial sweeteners are heavier, twice as likely to have diabetes, and more likely to be insulin-resistant compared with nonusers.?

Honey is a wonderful and natural alternative to artificial sweeteners and sugar, but it must be RAW. it contains many health benefits (it is a great immune system booster, has been found to contain anti-cancer properties, helps relieve arthritis pain and assists in relieving ailments like yeast infection and athletes foot), but these properties have only been found in RAW honey and not pasteurized and processed honey.

Look for honey that looks thick and cloudy and specifically says ?RAW? on the label. As with absolutely every food, be sure to use it in moderation and pay close attention to your body?s response after consuming it.

iluvcake · 17/01/2011 14:06

thedogwalker-£30k?. That must have been some doGrin. Mind you, I'm still working on prices 10 years ago so what do I know!

half teaspoon of ground cinnamon and about 1tsp of honey-can't see anywhere on the label that it's pasterised or raw, just says 100% manuka honey. It's from Holland and Barrett but it was only about £5.99, not the really expensive stuff that a gazillian pounds per pot. So it might not be brilliant.

The cloners and scammers are out in force this weekend aren't they-what shitty people just spend their lives doing that-they've got some seriously bad karma coming their way.

dinkystinky · 17/01/2011 14:38

Buda - as far as I can tell (working back through the accounts) facebook was hacked first, then my email account via facebook - the buggers sent the begging emails today and then wiped my address book (so couldnt tell people to ignore it) and locked me out of yahoo and facebook. Ugh.

iluvcake · 17/01/2011 15:08

dinky Shock. I shop online quite a bit and have facebook etc.

I had a spoof e-mail re my e-bay account this morning as well. I clicked on the link thinking it was genuine but it wouldn't connect. Turns out it was one of those "phishing" e-mails...frightening.

Buda · 17/01/2011 15:24

Shock dinky.

Shaxx · 17/01/2011 19:38

Thank you Dinky for that sound telling off! Much appreciated.

TDW and Dinky thats awful for you! Its so common now though unfortunately. My friend had her account cleaned out too. It was awful as she had to wait ages for the bank to sort it out.

We've had emails like that too. Just got one last week telling us that our bank account had been locked out because of too many attempts at trying to log in and to 'click here' to unlock it!

Good day today for food so I'm back on track. No exercise again due to bad cough and chestiness.

thedogwalker · 17/01/2011 19:56

I sometimes find it hard to believe how many scammers there are out there, the cheek of that, Shaxx, to try it on with a click here, gets my blood boiling. Well my bank are being very good and have re-imbursed everything and so I hope you are ok to Dinky.

OMG, how I ache and I'm only on day 2 of the shred, it's a lot harder than just doing it every other day.

iluv, that price for my wedding includes the honeymoon, not just the dress and party Smile, and I would do it all again if I could. Had a fantastic day, can't wait to renew my vows, but after only 18 months I think it may be too early Wink.

Buda tried some pumperninkle bread, or whatever it's called. wow that is some taste Hmm, it will take some getting use to. Any tips on what you eat it with to make it taste better?

Hope everyone has managed to stay in the zone and for anyone on weigh day today, good luck. Thinbride, good luck for tomorrow.

ta ta x
