dinky, you sound very similar to me. Hope you are feeling bit better soon.

I really should avoid wheat altogether, it just doesn't agree with me and makes me bloat.

I have been fairly good with avoiding wheat but had two slices of toast this morning and a piece of bread at lunchtime which resulted in bad stomach cramps and a mad dash to the loo (sorry-TMI!!)

Water is the next thing I need to up as have not been drinking any either. All of this has resulted in me feeling tired, grumpy and lethargic. I know what I need to do, I just have do it!!!

Buda, well done on an orange instead of sugary, empty food.

Buda · 13/01/2011 17:22

iluvcake - try cutting the wheat out completely. It won't be helping with the sugar cravings either. I know with me it makes a huge difference to how bloated I am.

Am starving today. Had 3 oatcakes with peanut butter at 4 and have just had a slice of rye bread with cheese. Sigh. Am going to drink a couple of glasses of water to see if that helps.

DH is out tonight so don't need to cook. Will do pasta and bolognaise from the freezer for DS and a small portion of chili for me later if I am hungry.

thedogwalker · 13/01/2011 19:34

Hello all

For those of us that bloat on wheat products, you can buy flour made from rice, spelt or rye from most supermarkets and then bake your own bread. Its what I do. That way you can still have toast or a sandwich but you won't be bloated afterward. Apparantly the digestive system has a hard time digesting any wheat products, which is why bloating is common. And for those eating rye bread, just check the label, because of a lot of them are made with 50% rye flour and 50% wheat flour Shock, so will still give you bloating so some degree.

iluv, think you need to be careful on the low fat products, as they often contain alot of sugar to make them tasty, they will higher your chance of diebetes.

Hope everyone has had a good day and is ready for the weigh in tomorrow. I was doing well but have sat down tonight with a cider, just fancied a glass Blush, so hoping it won't affect the scales to much tomorrow.

Take care x

Buda · 13/01/2011 20:17

I have been eating all day. What is wrong with me?? Aargh.

Not expecting a good result tomorrow.

thedogwalker - I can get spelt flour here. Must try it. The rye bread I get is the proper German pumpernickely type. Very heavy and dark. You couldn't make a sandwich with it!

iluvcake · 13/01/2011 20:21

Thanks for that, the dogwalker! Very impressed at you baking your own bread. I love baking but only cakesGrin.

I have experimented with lots of types of flour for various recipes and usually only eat bread if there is no other option. Don't know what was wrong with me today (actually, pmt probably). Rye bread and oatcakes are my staples at the moment.

But as you know from my name, my weakness is cake and sugar in any form. So many of these products have wheat in them. I find it so so so hard to cut out wheat entirely although I can't tolerate it.

I never really eat low fat versions of things as I would rather just have a little bit of the proper full fat stuff without all the nasties.

I'm feeling rough from having an upset tummy earlier and can't face eating tonight.

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow everyone. Am sure we'll have some lossesSmile.

Cyb · 13/01/2011 20:23

Have you got room for a big little one?

Buda · 13/01/2011 20:57

Hi Cyb!! Of course we have. Founder member that you are! How are you?

Iluvcake - I think you need to try to cut sugar and wheat out completely for a while. Honestly the cravings do go after 3 days. What about trying low carb for a couple of weeks just to get it all out of your system?

I feel full and bloated tonight. Wonder if period will arrive in next few days. Can't remember when last one was. Nov I think. Bloody menopause.

Busy day tomorrow. Walking dogs after school run then hair colour and then tesco. Have hair apt at same time as friend so looking forward to a natter.

Hopefully will not be so hungry tomorrow!

Shaxx · 13/01/2011 21:56

I get those eating-all-day days too. Its weird as its like you have no control.

Hi Cyb!

Well I had my first ice skating lesson Grin
It was brilliant. I've gat a really nice friendly group and I was skating ok by the end of it. Had 2 falls and my legs are killing me!

Foodwise, it wasn't brilliant. Had a couple of extra bits (toast and choc biscuit) but at least I stopped eating at 6 and have had nothing since.
I shall just have to look forward to breakfast now.

thedogwalker · 14/01/2011 07:41

Hi all

Welcome back Cyb Smile

Well I am gutted, tried really hard all week and been doing the shred and I've sts Sad. I only cheated once and that was one glass of cider last night surely that cannot have had such a huge effect.

Hope everyone gets a better result than me. Have a nice weekend x

dinkystinky · 14/01/2011 08:48

Morning all - TDW, keep the faith my friend. I too have been the model of virtuousness most of the week, exercised every day, drank oodles of water - and have sts. But I'm on my period, have water retention from hell and know that if I dont let this get me down and I keep the faith and keep up the healthy eating, drinking loads of water, exercising loads I will eventually see a loss. And a sts is better than a gain anyway. So dont let a sts or tiny gain dishearten you and go straight into biffing mode - you're stronger than that and know you deserve better than that.

Shaxx - glad you enjoyed the iceskating. If legs still hurting today, warm bath, 2 ibuprofen and a good stretch out (esp for hamstrings and quads and calves) will sort you out.

noddyholder · 14/01/2011 08:51

Hello cyb!I don't have scales any recommendations My last set died about 8 months ago!I won't be able to weigh myself today

thedogwalker · 14/01/2011 09:05

Thanks dinky for the pep talk, was all ready to have an eating anything day and you have stopped me. I am currently breastfeeding and my boobs always have various amounts of milk in them, not quite the same as water retention but may be part of the reason I sts. We will both have a loss next week Smile

Noddy my scales are just plain old fashioned scales. it doesn't really matter as long as you always use the same ones and use them in the same place, so they don't fluctuate. Spoil yourself and go and splash out on some Grin, may even make you want to weigh yourself Wink well anythings worth a try.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 14/01/2011 09:07

Well done dinky and tdw for sts, you may well be onto a bigger loss next week to make up for it!

Im not weighing in today so not to confuse you all i will just report my after ww on a tue. I have still been very virtuous food wise, all very healthy etc and i even avoided a biscuit binge last night as DP had a couple and i was sooooooo tempted but i refrained.

i am going to shamlesly report i have still not done any exercise Blush and really should start, but i just cant seem to get motiviated, arggggggggg!

hello cyb!

noddy, i bought some WW scales last year from argos for about £17, if you go on to argos youcan check the reviews from all the makes as this is what i done, and im glad i did because i really wanted fancy glass ones but they had crap reviews.

Well im off to digest my breakfast and contemplate getting the shred out.

justaminute · 14/01/2011 09:32

Welcome cyb

Keep the faith if you sts. I sts the same last week after exercising and eating well but I persevered and have lost 4 pounds this week! I?m over the moon Grin

Can?t see any physical difference but in my head I feel slimmer ? being slim feels good.

noddyholder · 14/01/2011 09:41

Ok thanks!I have an argos near me so will take a look.I am a demon with scales though can't resist stepping on every time I see them!

Shaxx · 14/01/2011 09:51

Well done Justaminute! Thats a brilliant result.
Dinky and dogwalker please don't feel disheartened. Thats happened to me before as well and I've always got a good result the following week. There could be loads of reasons why your weight is registering a bit higher than its meant to be.

I've lost 1.5lbs! Yay!

I've got some really nice electronic scales that I picked up from Robert Dyas for around £20.

Guitargirl · 14/01/2011 10:20

Hi everyone, hi Cyb.

I have lost 0.5lbs. Pants.

Haven't been brilliant though (obviously). Shred DVD arrived yesterday, I watched it yesterday sitting in my pyjamas on the floor and gave myself pins and needles.

Well done to all the losers - especially justaminute Smile

GandTiceandaslice · 14/01/2011 10:25

My weigh in is on monday so I shall let you know how I get on then.

My tummy is also my problem area.

I've been doing well on my diet though, must up my exercize though.

iluvcake · 14/01/2011 12:08

Morning all. iluv reporting for weigh in.

Hello cyb and welcome backSmile.

Have stayed the same too-just as I thought I would. One foot in and one foot out of the zone.

justaminute-way to gooooooo! That is brilliant. Well done you.

Well done Shaxx too, fab weight loss AND guitargirl(lol, BTW at you watching the shred with pjs onGrin), ANY loss is good. Better than it going on.

All us stay-the-samers, I know I said the same last week but let's really try hard this week and see what we can do. I really, really want to lose weight before my ski hol at the end of the month. Have some VERY snug salopettes which will not be comfortable if I haven't lost at least a couple more pounds.

iluvcake · 14/01/2011 12:10

thedogwalker, the amount of milk you have must surely affect the scales I would have thought?

I'm no expert but I remember feeling as if I had a few pints in there when I was BF!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 14/01/2011 12:50

Well done losers and sts'ers esp Justamin! thats a fab loss/

thedogwalker · 14/01/2011 12:57

Well done Justamin, that's brilliant, way to go girls, most of us seem to be doing really well.

I was initially downheartened, but as you've all so kindly reminded me, it's the long term goal I need to keep in mind, and just because I sts this week, doesn't mean I need to biff. So I'm going to be good, just cooking my favourite curry, which I posted on here last week, which is low in fat and always seems like a real treat when I eat it but its not bad at all Grin.

Iluvcake, sometimes I feel I've got quite a few pounds tucked away in my boobs when they are full, give me backache they do Wink, so hopefully that is all it was, time will tell, I'm staying positive.

Hope everyone has a good weekends and good luck GandT for your weigh in on Monday.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 14/01/2011 13:36

Cyb · 14/01/2011 14:14
