Hi all - quickly logging on from MIL's (off on holiday tomorrow for a week). Welcome Msbuggywinkle, well done losers and gainers/sts-ers, you know what to do to get a loss for next week so do it. TDW - hope the move goes smoothly and sorry that you had your argument with DH - sounds like he's been totally taking you for granted. Bet he wont do that again!

Moved out of flat yesterday which went surprisingly smoothly - house full of boxes but couldnt unpack as builders still hard at work there so put boys and bags in the car and headed to MIL's in Brighton. Had a nice morning in the town centre with the boys (they got faces painted, balloon octopuses, lots of yummy chocolate at a chocolate food fair - I was very restrained and only had a few tasters!) and off on holiday tomorrow - then back on Easter Monday to the house for DS1's birthday (to be spent unpacking boxes and cleaning/dusting). Hope to be back online when at work a week on Wednesday so until then, good luck all at staying in the zone - remember, drink lots of water, exercise portion control and exercise and you will get into the zone.

knottyhair · 17/04/2011 09:13

Morning. msbuggywinkle, well done on your run! Dinky, glad your move went OK, and that you had fun in Brighton - I love Brighton Smile. Have a great holiday and hope your DS has a lovely birthday. I've just done 4 circuits of NMTZ, and although the whole thing is great and very challenging (for me anyway!), I didn't really feel 4 sections was enough. Was a bit short of time though, so I think I'll stick to the Shred or Tae Bo, or 6W6P when I've only got half an hour or so. Had poached egg on toast for breakfast, something with salad for lunch (don't know what yet), and pork & potato hotpot with veg for tea. Hope everyone's having a good weekend, and that you've all got the sunshine!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 17/04/2011 10:34

Got a fab day here just waiting dp returning from argos with a new strimmer as i did not get round to gardening the other day so will be on it today.

Got lots of little flowers to plant and i want the garden looking half decent.

Had a yogurt and a satsuma then 2 slices of wholemeal toast and jam for breakfast, will be having roast pork for sunday lunch and prob hm soup for dinner.

Enjoy the sun if you have any x

thedogwalker · 17/04/2011 12:54

TDW, hope it all goes OK for you. "See" you in May Smile.

fedupofnamechanging · 17/04/2011 13:52

Hope all goes well TDW. Enjoy the gardening thinbride. I keep attempting to do mine but it needs so much, I'm not sure where to start. Think I need to buy shares in a weedkiller company. Every year I promise myself that this will be the year I make the garden look lovely, but it is yet to happen!

On the bright side, DH and I have cleaned the car that we are hoping to sell and we are halfway through pulling up the kitchen floor tiles to be replaced with laminate. Am feeling the need to fix my house, so intend to be busy for the next couple of weeks painting. I think I am hoping it will distract me from my favourite pastime of eating chocolate and reading magazines!

Have been quite good with food for the last couple of days. Have been eating the paprika pork from the bbc food site and chicken soup. Today I am having roast chicken with salad and a few new potatoes.

Well done on all that exercise knotty. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and have lovely sunny weather like we are getting in Wales at the moment.

msbuggywinkle · 17/04/2011 15:47

I still have my willpower...so far today I have had carrot and coriander soup with one piece of plain bread and for dinner we're having ful medames (rice for DH and the DDs) and salad.

We've spent the day playing in our bell tent, just put it up in the garden as we're going camping in it for the first time next weekend!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 17/04/2011 18:43

Help, my lovely food plan went out the bloody window!

I ended up having an impromtu bbq at Ingram Valley (nataional forest or some such place) and had burgers with salad and sausages in finger rolls with mustard and tomato sauce and they were so so so scrummy! Washed down with pepsi and 2 friggin cakes !!!!!!

Line firmly drawn under bbq incident, garden nearly done and my lovely pork joint is now out the oven after being marinated in sticky chinese bbq sauce!

Been for my run and felt knackered, can not do hills.

Although i do have soup cooling at the min that i had been cooking all day in the slow cooker so it should keep me going for a couple of days.

Msbuggywinkle - what are medames? im intregued.

msbuggywinkle · 18/04/2011 08:50

Ful medames here [http://www.whats4eats.com/vegetables/ful-medames-recipe] it was lovely, with tomato, cucumber and red onion in lemon juice.

I have put the slow cooker away for the summer now, I find dieting so much easier in warm weather as salad just feels natural!

Anyway, monday morning weigh in and I'm 3lb down. I was planning on going for a run this morning but DP couldn't get his bum out of bed so I'm going when he gets home from work.

Meal plan for the day is, oatcakes, veg and hummus for lunch then sausage and lentil pasta for dinner.

Thinbride great that you've drawn a line, I'm rubbish at doing that!

knottyhair · 18/04/2011 09:01

Morning! Wow msbuggywinkle, that looks gorgeous, and congratulations on a 3lb loss! Thinbride, don't let it get you down, just clamber back up on that wagon Smile. Just done Level 2 Shred, which I still find hard, but I have got a twinge in one knee and one of my wrists feels a bit weak, so I think I was a bit worried something was going to "go"! I need to keep an eye on them I think. Had cereal and skimmed milk for breakfast, not sure about lunch yet, soup or salad depending on how hot I feel Smile, and tuna burgers and salad for tea. Have a lovely day everyone x

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 18/04/2011 12:02

Msbuggywinkle i will need to try those!

Just spent the morning gutting dd and ds bedroom, putting mountain of washing away and doing the rest of the normal house work and now im doing kids lunches before i get ready for work. Feels non stop today.

Hope your all staying on the wagon and those on hols are having a good time.

LadyBuzz · 18/04/2011 12:42

Hello, can I join you?

I have been following closer onlines low fat diet for 3 weeks now and have lost 9lbs. I want to lose about 3 stone in total but have always found diets quite hard and would appreciate the support.

fedupofnamechanging · 18/04/2011 12:55

Hello LadyBuzz and welcome.

I have been here for a few weeks and have found it really helpful to have the support. These ladies are keeping me on the wagon Smile.

Spent yesterday pulling up the kitchen floor tiles and chipping away at the cement stuck underneath. Not really formal exercise but pretty exhausting. Was therefore miffed to find out this morning that I have put on a pound overnight seemingly. Would like to blame AF, but think it might have more to do with the glass of cider and chocolate I had last night. Oh well, back to it today.

I have a mountain of ironing to do so it's thrill a minute here at the moment Wink. Hope you all are having a more exciting time.

knottyhair · 18/04/2011 13:06

Welcome LadyBuzz, great loss so far! I've been trying to lose weight since mid Jan, and have lost 16lbs so far - seems to be a slow but steady loss. I'm tracking calories online and doing a workout DVD (mostly Jillian Michaels!) 6 days out of 7 on average. We usually do a weekly weigh in on a Friday, but it doesn't matter if you do it on another day Smile. Karma, how often do you weigh yourself? I'd say (from experience only!) that if you do it every day, you see so much movement up and down which could be down to any number of factors, and can be demotivating. If you stick to once a week, you tend to see a more realistic result and for me anyway, keeps me motivated. Just a thought Smile. Definitely going to have a day off the exercise tomorrow - got a twingey knee and my lower back is killing me! Might be a combination of getting cocky with the weights, and gardening yesterday along with a game of swingball with DS yesterday where I may have tried to show off a bit Blush. Have done a DVD every day since Thursday so I'll give myself a break tomorrow and see if things improve with a bit of rest & stretching.

fedupofnamechanging · 18/04/2011 13:11

You are right knotty, I do weigh myself every day. I know I shouldn't, but find it so hard not to. I'm scared that if I don't, I will put on tons of weight which will come as a shock at a weekly weigh in.

knottyhair · 18/04/2011 14:17

Karma, do you use an online tracker to log your calories? Then you'll have a good idea of what you're eating everyday, and shouldn't have any horrible shocks on weigh-in day! That might help you leave the scales alone Smile.

fedupofnamechanging · 18/04/2011 14:48

I did start to use an online tracker, but kept forgetting to up date it. I do write everything down though. Logically, I know that it is silly to weigh myself every day and I know if I have eaten more than I should, I just find it hard to walk past the scales in the morning

fedupofnamechanging · 18/04/2011 14:49

Random italics there.

LadyBuzz · 18/04/2011 16:29

Thanks ladies, its good to know other people are going through the same things!
Friday is good for me as a weigh in day. I use the wii fit to weigh myself so I am aware its not totally accurate but its all I have at the moment, although on the upside I can't weigh myself daily as its too much hassle to turn on and drag everything out when i'm getting the kids sorted.

I am doing Zumba once a week and have been going to the gym twice a week but i have been getting pain in my CS scar so I do need to lay off it a little bit.
I am liking the diet plan thing as it tells me exactly what I can have and how much of it.

knottyhair · 19/04/2011 07:42

Morning! I'm having a day off the exercise today as I thought yesterday - my lower back is still very sore, not sure what I've done! I do get problems there from time to time though. Might do 4 circuits of BFBM tomorrow as there's no weights, and just keep an eye on it. Just had poached egg on toast for breakfast, we've got another picnic today so I'm going to pop to Waitrose and get some sushi and chicken pasta with herb & caper sauce for tea later. Ladybuzz, is Zumba good? Hope you all have a good day xx

LadyBuzz · 19/04/2011 10:53

knottyhair I love zumba its very high energy but also alot of fun so it holds my interest. i go with a group of friends and we always have a good laugh. I must be the most unco-ordinated person there though Grin

knottyhair · 19/04/2011 11:12

Oh, I'm sure I'd give you a run for your money if I went Grin!

fedupofnamechanging · 19/04/2011 21:02

Had a bit of a crap day today. Have been stuck at home with a stack of ironing. The DC broke open some of their Easter eggs and I have eaten far too much chocolate and have gone over my calorie count. Am cross with myself as I have also eaten bread and jam for breakfast. Had a go ahead biscuit and an orange for lunch (I know).

Dinner was a healthy chicken breast, 4 new potatoes and runner beans, but the rest of today has been rubbish.

Hope to have a better tomorrow.

knottyhair · 20/04/2011 07:33

Karma, today's another day, and to be honest, yesterday doesn't sound like a complete disaster! I went over yesterday as well, which I knew I would. If I don't do a workout, it is much harder to stick to my allowance, but to be honest what with DS being off, AF visiting and having lots of days out etc., I'm aiming for a STS hopefully on Friday, and not worrying to much about it.

My back etc. still feels "twingey" IYKWIM, and we've got another picnic to get ready for this morning, so I'm severely slacking in the exercise department! I have to fit it in early in the morning, and feel guilty taking DS away from his morning telly so I can put a DVD on. So I've decided to take the pressure off whilst he's on holiday and not do it every morning. Cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, will take ryvitas, turkey and salad bits to the picnic, and we've got the lighter lamb burgers again for tea tonight. Hope everyone has the beautiful weather. DS and his friends had the pool out yesterday, it was scorchio!! xx
