Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Anyone else freezing today? Wind is so cold it's making my bones hurt IYKWIM? Days like this I realise how draughty this old house is! Not looking forward to going out with DD later. Need to go up to Tesco & should walk really, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Will be wrapping up in 20 layers!

Blondes - have fun at your friends'.

So far today,
B - OJ & Cereal bar
Snack - Nairns Ginger biscuit

Planning
Lunch - Celery soup, ryvita & yoghurt
Dinner - Jacket potato, lf chicken in white sauce & green veg.

Off to drink a pint of sugar free squash to try & stop the munchies!

GettinTrimmer · 27/01/2011 12:27

Afternoon all Smile I have finally got round to visiting the opticians, stronger specs should be ready in a week's time, so I will be able to read the scales without so much eye strain!

Piste, ikwym about needing a wee, I have to time my runs carefully, won't go into detail....

just instructed an estate agent, the house will go on the market next week

Not very hopeful of a loss tomorrow, may be something.

GettinTrimmer · 27/01/2011 12:29

Good luck with munchie avoidance Bebe. I was very cold too when outside in town.

smokinaces · 27/01/2011 12:48

It is freeezing out there. snowing here. nightmare.

how do you make celery soup? i like the sound of that one, is it freezable?

Mine today is porridge with tea, banana, water, tea, jacket potato with veg and smoked haddock, yogurt and satsumas. Shepherds pie tonight with the kids, so will have a 1/2 portion with veg.

am aiming to try and hit the stone monday - 3lb aim this week.

Smalline · 27/01/2011 14:19

Celery soup recipe, kindly provided by Piste I think, forgive if I am wrongBlush

Soften an onion (and garlic if you have some) in a little oil/fry light. Chop Celery into small pieces and slightly soften in pan with onion. Season well, plenty of pepper! Add veg stock & simmer until celery is soft. Blitz in blender (I always think it's quite nice to have some pieces of celery left whole). Add splash of skimmed milk to make it slightly 'creamier'. (Sometimes I leave the milk out & just serve it with a little low fat creme fraiche)

It's very cold today, I have my heating set at the lowest temp, but it has been coming on all day.

bebejones · 27/01/2011 14:27

Have been out! It's bitter out there today! Soooooo windy! Wrapped up warm. DD had her coat & hat on & was in her buggy snuggle & looked toasty! Envy

Celery soup was yummy at lunch, very warming! :) All soup gets chucked in the freezer in this house, in fact I freeze pretty much everything that's left over! HATE throwing food away, it's too bloody expensive & I just can't do it unless there is something wrong with it! Blush

Our heating is set at 21, and has been on nearly all day. Still got cold feet from the draught coming down the chimney!

Trimmer - Good Luck with the house sale! Fingers crossed for you!

Really hope I have lost something this week, I have been relatively good. Apart from the weekend! But been good since :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/01/2011 15:40

Lol - I did provide it but the credit lies with Bebe actually!

My DD is rowing this afternoon - cor how chilly does that make you feel?!

smokinaces · 27/01/2011 16:39

oooh, will have to go buy some veggie stock and celery, that one sounds easy and nice!

My heating is on 20, been on all day mostly. DS2 is feeling very poorly, fell asleep on me this afternoon, barely eaten, temp of just over 38, grumpy etc. Saying his ear hurts now, and he has glue ear so will have to keep an eye on him. He'll be gutted if its an ear infection though as his dad was going to take him swimming Sunday.

Shepherds pie cooking nicely. had a hot chocolate to warm up, looking forward to my dinner and then getting the kids to bed before a nice hour workout in front of Greys and Glee

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2011 17:40

we had snow today in blondesland Shock tho didnt settle

was very bad at lunch Blush as friend did pizza, was yummy but so bad!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/01/2011 21:02

Just been for a run. I have been so Bloomin good, with exercise and nosh that if I have not lost I shall sulk. Big time.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/01/2011 07:18

One pound here, no case for sulking. Although it really does make me question exactly what they do in BL to lose a stone in a week?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/01/2011 08:42

well done piste, trimmer and bebe :)

im rather pissed off - sts and have been within my points - but i ate my weekies and lots of fruit - maybe too much? :(

tho i have measured myself as i do every month and have lost 7cm since this time last month :)

bebejones · 28/01/2011 08:52

STS is still good Blondes & well done on the cm loss, that's fab! :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/01/2011 08:59

stamps foot Angry its not :( i deserve to lose

im very pissed off - sts and eaten 29pp a day (even my pizza blip yesterday was 23pp and had o point soup for tea to counter balance and still 29 yesterday

but i ate ALL my weekies and normally i dont (have 20/30 of them) and 3/5 of fruit a day - maybe too much?

so why if i ate my 29 every day and my 49 - why didnt i lose

'blondes sobs'

bebejones · 28/01/2011 09:11

I don't know, possibly other factors at work. Confused Maybe having the bulk of points in One meal yesterday instead of throughout the day tipped things a bit? Sts is still good, could have been far worse.

GettinTrimmer · 28/01/2011 09:20

Sad Blondes that's crap. I don't think that is too much fruit, I find 29 points not very much to eat and without fruit couldn't stick to it. It'll show next week on the scales.

Fab inch loss Smile

Bebe/piste - well done!!

Would you ever consider a 10K race piste? I am coming to the conclusion that I need to have sometime to aim for or I won't run.

bebejones · 28/01/2011 09:48

Just had a bit of a blowout breakfast 420 cals! Crumpets with Cruncy peanut butter & a banana. Yum!

Taking DD out to lunch today, only to a cafe in a shop I need to go to, but she is very excited! Trying to stick to just 'treating' myself on a weigh day....not sure it'll work! Maybe I should switch to weighing on a Mon again? Although with DH eating healthier it might be easier to stay good at the weekends?

Really need to do some proper exercise. Definitely noticed more wobble in the tummy Blush since stopping the sit ups so they must have been doing something! Will start up again slowly coz I don't want to hurt my hip too much.

Pretty - I get that same feeling where leg meets body. But I get really bad sharp pains in the front of my pelvis which seem to radiate from that point Confused. Just wish it'd go away. Anti inflammatories did nothing for me either! Hmm

Smalline · 28/01/2011 10:05

The main thing Blondes is that you are losing inches (ok cms) so you must be losing something, you are back in the gym now probably losing fat and gaining more muscle, you know that muscle weighs more than fat, you are probably looking leaner, and that is what is going to get you back in your trousersGrin. I went through the same thing in November last year, week after week of sts, but my trousers were getting looser and looser so I knew I was losing somethingSmile

Well done Bebe you are back on track, super losses too Trimmer and Piste that is the way to do itSmile.

prettybird · 28/01/2011 11:14

Another pound for me too :) Slow and steady progress. Would have liked it to be 2lb but I shan't complain too much If we do go skiing this year (currently humming and hahhing and wondering if we can find a good late deal) then I'll probably still have to wear dh's old salopettes again :( - but at least I will have lost c.2 stone since this time last year, so they will be much looser! well done pretty

and yes smalline i have lost 7 cm's in the last month

laughalot · 28/01/2011 14:30

Hi everyone I sts this week im not suprised had good and bad days so there we go.

Blondes im sure you will get there but I understand how upsetting it is when you dont lose and have been good.

Big well done to piste, trimmer, bebe and pretty.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/01/2011 14:49

Blondes. I would be curious to know how many calories you are having with your WW plan. I aim for between 1000&1300. Sometimes it's less. Could you maybe work it out both ways one day? Do the WW then go back and check? Dunno. Pants though.

GT. I am going to do a 5K first then see! My friend runs half marathons regularly and she is lending me book she has found motivational.

Lovely losses ladies and sts is def an achievement.

Bebe - how's your DH getting on at the end if week 1?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/01/2011 15:16

Made a really nice veggie soup today - leek, carrot, cabbage & onion. It was just right on such a bitter day! It was very gusty on my bike this morning and my face looked like this Confused

Am running once the sun goes down ( Piste has vampire tendencies )
