Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

GettinTrimmer · 03/12/2010 13:43

well done pretty Xmas Smile.

I have a theory you are well rewarded from sticking to the shred, it builds muscle which burns more calories.

What day/stage of the shred are you on now?

Well done on sts Blondes.

prettybird · 03/12/2010 15:08

I did the 2nd Day of Level 3 yesterday. Not sure I'll have time today or tomorrow but will try to make up on Sunday (don't normally do the weekends). I also think that giving myself Sunday "off" (and Monday was a wee bit above the FoodFocus target calories too) helped too - as it "demonstrated" to my body that I didn't need to be in starvation mode.

Well done on sts Blondes.

Trimmer - at least you only put on a pound and by continuing to post on here, you won't be tempted to go too mad over Christmas.

im sooooooooooooo fed up of snow - tho least has finally stopped snowing,so now waiting for the big thaw

i still cant get out of my road via car, but can waddle through snow to local shop 15mins walk away

FINALLY got some milk, which i shared with my elderly neighbours as they cant get out as sacred they will fall and break hips etc

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2010 16:45

[fbear] [fbear] [fbear][fbear]

how cute is he???

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 03/12/2010 16:55

Not as cute as me Xmas Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2010 16:59

hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe piste Xmas Wink

bebeinamanger · 03/12/2010 17:06

Awww loving the [fbear]

Xmas Grin

Had to chase after DD earlier & now my pelvis feels like it is going to fall apart & I have a stabbing pain in my hip! :(

Blondes - glad you managed to get some milk :)

We are having t/a pizza for dinner Xmas Blush What I had got out of the freezer to defrost, hasn't defrosted coz it's too bloody cold!! I am mega tired & just want to curl up with some ibuprofen, hot chocolate & a hot water bottle!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2010 17:24

aww bebe, hope pain goes soon, take large swig of whiskey and tablets

bebeinamanger · 03/12/2010 18:09

I have actually been quite restrained, I had some hm leek & potato soup, but had a couple of slices of t/a garlic bread to dunk in it! Taken some super strong ibuprofen. Hoping it'll kick in soon!

prettybird · 03/12/2010 18:10

Sorry about your hip bebe. I've jsut started getting some stabbing pains in my left hip which are really getting me down - so it must be awful to have to live with that pain all the time :(

I'm currently making mince pies, mini spanakopita (filo pastry spinach rolls) and my acclaimed spice biscuits - all for the Winter Fair tomorrow. I'll have to try to resist temptation Xmas Hmm

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 03/12/2010 19:27

Pretty - Enjoy your Mumsnet Christmas meet up, hope it goes really well and that the snow doesn?t affect people?s plans. You are doing so well on your diet, 3lbs is amazing!!

Bebe - Am loving your newly be-oranged Christmas wreath, really professional looking I must say!
Sorry you are in pain, you must try to keep warm - I am sure the cold can?t help.

GT - ahem, flange is one of those glorious words that has a multitude of meanings! Yes it is the proper term for a group of baboons ( you certainly have been paying attention, you get full marks!) It is also a plumbing term, as part of a pipe where they join together, also something to do with engineering too I think, but Pretty is right to think she doesn?t like it cos its an unflattering term for a lady?s undercarriage!!!

Blondes - I can see why you are fed up with the snow again, I hate having to cancel stuff because of things outside my control. We are up to London to the O2 tomorrow night to the Capital Radio Ball - seeing the Black Eyed Peas, the Script, Duffy etc ( me and DS and a bunch of teenage girls Confused ) and I will be mega pissed off it doesn?t happen because of snow.
On the up side - you and me are practically Slinky Twins now, almost on the same weight I think. Hooray for us I say Xmas Grin

It would be a total hoot to meet up in 2011, let?s really try!

GettinTrimmer · 03/12/2010 21:17

Blondes - that is kind of you to help your neighbours, just spoken to my sister in West Sussex, she went out and found an elderly lady who'd fallen over Sad took her home and made a cup of tea.

Piste - At least I know who the black eyed peas are now, hope your evening out happens tomorrow.

Bebe - Did you do that leek and potato soup recipe that was a previous recipe of the week?

Hope the ibuprofen has kicked in x

I will have to do something drastic and buy myself a pair of size 12 jeans to fit in by the time of our meet up. Just need a goal....

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2010 22:21

Piste/mulled wine - hope you get to 02 - there are no trains from blondeland to London at moment

I'm gutted I'm missing my 2 nights out - but dh and I have just had a chinky - he went to get it bless him as Chinese can't deliver on our ice rink :(

Poor sisters neighbour :( I'm just doing what I hope someone will do for my parents one day if they need it

Gonna try and make a break for freedom tomorrow and try and get out if my road .......

GettinTrimmer · 04/12/2010 10:19

Be careful Blondes, there's black ice around

bebeinamanger · 04/12/2010 11:12

Trimmer - I sort of used that recipe, but used fry light instead of butter & skimmed milk! It's very yummy :)

Blondes - be very careful, esp with your ankle, you don't want to do more damage to it!

Piste/Mulled - Hope you get there & have a fab time!

Took DD to local pottery workshop where she decorated a ceramic Christmas decoration :) Went to see Father Christmas, which she was very excited about, but when we got in there she screamed & cried 'I want to go home' & refused to go near him at all! Was not the reaction we were expecting! As we were leaving she said 'That was good, I love Father Christmas!' Xmas Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2010 11:33

ok, dh trekked through snow for a yummy chinky last night

and im about to dig my car out and attempt to get out of my road

freedom........

needs must, must go to the bank and pay mortgage

enjoy o2 if you get there ....

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 04/12/2010 12:25

Thanks all! Our snow is receding quickly. I woke last night to hear heavy rain. I shall get to the O2 tonight!! Just hope the Peas and all the others do too.

DD is currently rowing - bbbrrrrrrrrr. . They only stop in thunder or if the Thames were to freeze over ( unlikely) actually the rowers are fine because they use such a lot of energy. Last week DD was slightly horrified to see herself steaming!!

DH on his way back from Sydney, currently on his way to Bangkok. So fingers crossed for no more snow, he needs to see DD as Peter Pan.

I ate so much last night. I was overwhelmed by GTs MunchyMonsters. This morning i have had about 45 cups of tea. Not sure what is going on with me to be honest!!

Smalline · 04/12/2010 13:08

Well despite being very good this week, I stsXmas Sad, I suppose last weeks chocolate binge finally caught up with me, never mind there is always next weekXmas Smile.

Well done Pretty on your fabulous weight loss, your hard work has really paid off this weekXmas Smile.

Congratulations Murtette, and just 1lb on after all that celebration, you are obviously doing something rightXmas Smile.

Well done Piste on your llb, have a great time at the O2 tonight I absolutely love Black Eyed Peas so I'm very Xmas Envy,
well done to all who stsXmas Grin.

Sorry to hear that you are in pain BebeXmas Sad hope you get some relief soon, love your Christmas wreath by the way, wish I was more creative.

How is your mum Blondes? hope your DH is able get back to work soon.

Don't worry Trimmer that 1lb and more will be off very soon.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2010 18:18

well done for sts smalline

mum is fine now had the op thanks :)

dh prob wont be back at work till maybe end of next wee if not week after- coz of poxy snow - hoping for serious rain to melt it

GettinTrimmer · 05/12/2010 12:42

Has your snow melted a bit Blondes? I meant to ask also, how is your foot now?

Smalline well done on sts.

Those munchies are disruptive Piste/mulled[fbear] We should think of munchie beating techniques. good on your dd for carrying on with her rowing yes brrrrr

dd is going to a party and is refusing to get changed, she is wearing a chocolate stained t-shirt and old trousers. She is saying she's not doing what I want her to all the time Hmm and her friend won't mind what she wears Grin

She's distracted atm writing her friend's card (all on her own!) can't believe how quickly she's growing up. Over to dh, he can take her and I'll put her clothes in the car to change into.

Blondes, help!! Any advice?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/12/2010 12:49

give her a choice of 2/3 outfits that you approve

and tell her firmly that if she doesnt chose something within 5 mins that you will chose or she wont go

be firm!!!!

snow slowly going,my road is still an ice rink but main roads ok - will be interesting what works country lane will be like tomorrow - mb said it was snow ploughed but then had more snow

ankle still weak, so still havnt been to gym, which isnt helping the diet - nor was eating dh fatty foods lol - so will leave to NY and see what it is like then :(

GettinTrimmer · 05/12/2010 13:26

She's changed now Blondes, I did the choice of outfits, thanks, she forgot it was an issue after being distracted with writing the card out and having chocolate from the advent calendar.

Will file that one for future reference!

Glad your snow is at least slowly going.

Had a naughty day yesterday (went to the Harvester), but today is OK, diet bread toasted with marmite for breakfast, bowl of leek and potato soup for lunch, roast for tea with only x1 roast spud for me, and a plan to banish munchies this evening, satsumas and low fat yogurt.

GettinTrimmer · 05/12/2010 13:32

sorry to hear your ankle still weak, have you been advised to do any exercises?

Great advice, that gives her control really over what happens.
