Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Watch silent witness.

GettinTrimmer · 24/01/2011 22:41

[bbiscuit]

I have successfully not given in to the munchies tonight [bsmile]

I've not seen it yet either Piste.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2011 23:21

i saw it as did mr blondes

it has a twist in it and thats all im saying ..... [bsmile]

GettinTrimmer · 25/01/2011 08:54

Morning all [bsmile] I have a telephone interview today for a job as a census collector, fingers crossed I get it, I can fit it around school runs/dh and will give me a more up to date work record.

I'm just about to put on the bigget loser while clearing up kitchen. I'm intrigued about the twist....

prettybird · 25/01/2011 11:02

Hope the interview goes well Trimmer.

I've always been really happy with my boobs: they are currently a 36C/D (when I'm around my target weight they are a 34C) and I still - even as I approach 50 (:() - pass the pencil test :)

Dh is being very supportive of my attempts to lose weight - altohugh he does express regret that the "increase in my assets" Wink (he's a boob man Grin) will inevitably decline!

On the other hand, he has already commented positively about the fact that my large rounded tummy has disappeared!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 11:32

Pretty - you pass the pencil test at nearly 50 [benvy]

I failed it at 30 - possibly even 25 :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 11:39

Trimmer - good luck with phone interview

prettybird · 25/01/2011 12:50

Being the resident Scot on here, I suppose I should use the appropriate empoticons for today: [bgrin]

I am rightly proud (and grateful to my mum [bsmile], whose shape I inherited, if not her height) of my "perky assets" [bwink]

BTW - we need to be thinking of a new thread title as we are approaching 900 posts.

How about "2011 Weight Loss Club: Spring Slinkies successfully sizing down"?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 13:17

sounds good to me pretty

and i LOVE the new emotions [bsmile]

GettinTrimmer · 25/01/2011 13:21

Pretty, you usually know about things like this - I gave blood yesterday, and this morning have been feeling a bit weak and tired - I thought the pint given would be made up immediately?

Love the new thread title. Upbeat.

Just had my phone interview, 10 minutes, no time for me to ask questions because of the high volume of applicants/interviews to get through. I was asked about strengths/weaknesses, have to say something about what weakness is, so I said I chat too much sometimes (not in those words, but interview style and may be an advantage when speaking to people on their doorsteps!

They let me know in about 2/3 weeks.

laughalot · 25/01/2011 13:22

Pretty my bro lives in glasgow where are you in scotaland Grin.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 13:58

trimmer i used to give blood for years but cant now coz of my blood clot in lung (pe) :(

takes prob a week to refresh in your system

made some scrummy parnsip soup for 33pp - was soooooooooooooooo creamy that i couldnt beleive so low

b 2 fried eggs 4,toast, 2, ketcup 1 =7
l 2 bowls of parsnip soup 3pp, 2 bread 4, marmite rice cakes 3 = 10

leaving 12 for tea, think gonna have battered fish and maybe cheesey pasts and veg

Smalline · 25/01/2011 14:41

Could you please post the recipe blondes, I love parsnips. What is the pencil test???

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 14:47

basically the pencil test

stand naked and insert a pencil under your boobs, if pencil drops you have great tits Grin

if pencil stays then you have saggy ones

parsnip soup - really simple

2 parsnips, peeled and chopped (3pp)
one onion chopped
pint and half of stock

simmer and whizz

is soooooooooooo creamy, really felt so sweet and satisfing

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/01/2011 15:39

Sob. Don't remind me of my failure at the pencil test.

Have seen the Biggest Loser now so you may all discuss it !

Smalline · 25/01/2011 18:04

Thanks blondes. Will try the pencil test laterWink

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 18:26

piste, again you have fab pistes [bgrin]

blondes has baggy baps [bgrin]

smokinaces · 25/01/2011 19:21

I have hugely saggy weighted boobs at 28 - but they've been this way for years and still look good in a bra.

was good till tonight. endulging in a glass of wine, handful of pretzels, 3 jaffa cakes and a 10g fat ready meal. am so exhausted nothing else works.

cant wait for it all to be over. Inspector has now decided I need to have a 1 hour interview with him tomorrow. am cacking it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 19:40

Smokin - just a small blip and tbh isn't that bad

Hope tomorrow goes well :)

prettybird · 25/01/2011 19:51

Smokin - good luck for tomorrow. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Trimmer: haven't donated blood in a while (every time I go to South Africa, I can't donate for a year and then get out of the habit) but I think the advice for exercsie is that the following day is OK, so your lethargy is probably not to do with that, sorry [bhmm] But if you want need to maintain the excuse reason, then Blondes is correct - it does take a wee while for your body to replenish the blood (it's just we don't actually need as much as we have for day to day life)

I'm currently steaming the haggis and boiling the neeps (Swedes to you Sassenachs) and tatties for our Burns supper (to be eaten late 'cos ds has Cubs until 8.30) It's a nice cheap meal as the haggis was only 69p in Lidl [bshock][bgrin]

Laughalot I'm in Glasgow too (Pollokshields if you know it at all).

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/01/2011 20:52

Smokin - good luck for ofsted. Do bear in mind that this time tomorrow it will be done.

Had really nice veggie stir fry, the others had noodles too. But tWas yum. Watching Biggest Loser USA now. There seems to be more to it than just exercising like Uk one.

Murtette · 25/01/2011 21:45

I fail the pencil test too. Definitely DD's fault. I can still have good cleavage but it requires a lot more structuring to obtain it.

What do you all think of the Biggest Loser? I find it quite compelling to watch but am not sure I agree with it. Surely the people who have lost the least need extra encouragement rather than being kicked off? And don't they recognise that not everyone loses weight at the same rate?

Working from home tomorrow and have a bag of parsnips to use up so I think I'll be making Blondes' soup tomorrow.

DD finally started walking today so I'm hoping I'll burn off some calories chasing after her now. Of course, she would wait until a nursery day to decide to walk!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2011 06:53

murtette biggest loser thread and the mention of cock rings

GettinTrimmer · 26/01/2011 10:28

I've recorded the Biggest Loser USA. I prefer Jillian as a trainer, although this latest one is trying to be a Jillian clone and I think Davina is a clone of the USA presenter and it doesn't work.

I'm intrigued by the cock rings [bgrin].

I'm thinking of starting a thread over in telly addicts about that channel 4 programme on crash diets.

I did not have a good day yesterday, I'm feeling OK today, but in an attempt to kick start myself I had chocolate (and crisps) [bblush] More energy today.

Breakfast: Beans on toast (5pp)
Lunch: Covent Garden Tomato soup (2)
Ryvitas with quorn slices (6)
fruit and free salad

bebejones · 26/01/2011 11:49

I watched BL USA & didn't like the format of it at all, couldn't get into it at all! Is the UK one the same? Haven't watched it yet!

Made Cookies & cream fudge brownies & sticky toffee cupcakes for toddler group & the bastards lovely mummies didn't eat them all so now I have loads of them in the house & Af is demanding I eat them!! Hmm

Going to stick to soups today. To try & counteract any badness that I am not responsible for! Hmm Wink

Blondes - Parsnip soup sounds lovely, will have to give it a go!
