Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

OP posts:
bebeinamanger · 10/12/2010 16:34

You will get there! My overhang in mainly the sides! The bit at the front is more skin than flab from having had DD!! Blush

Just put Toy Story 2 on for DD, she is entranced! So cute! :)

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 10/12/2010 18:29

Whispers.... My sides are slightly muffiny too. I so know what bebe means about tunic tops. Currently wearing White stuff tunic top it is the style where it is gathered under my boobs,is that empire line? straight jeans and my new lovely biker boots underneath.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/12/2010 19:51

bebe - glad you got your injrction and not too painful

GettinTrimmer · 11/12/2010 09:17

Morning Smile it's time I changed to my festive name isn't it?

We are off to get our xmas tree today, dd wants to see santa at the local garden centre.

I sts today Smile Next week will be challenging as I have x2 meals out.

My worst part is muffiny sides too. When I get to 11 stone they are so reduced my size 14 jeans fall down, like Bebe.

bebeinamanger · 11/12/2010 10:12

Yes Trimmer - Time to get festive!! Wink

Our graden centre were charging a small fortune to see Father Christmas! Was quite shocked!

Well done on sts! :)

Made a chedar & onion quiche this morning for lunch. Shall have a small piece & then some soup for dinner. Will try & be good otherwise!

Watching food porn Nigella now while DH is entertaining DD. OMG, Tiramisu looked sooooooooooo good!

GettinFestive · 11/12/2010 10:20

oooohh...tiramisu

I was thinking earlier on if I were Nigella it would be tempting to not worry about weight as she just gets more hourglassy and keeps her waist. I just get appley.

Festive name as xmas tree is coming I really am getting festive Xmas Smile

blondes very well done to you on the 2lb

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/12/2010 10:26

have you seen the impression show on bbc - they take the piss out of her

bebeinamanger · 11/12/2010 10:35

She takes the piss out of herself now I think! Definitely more OTT!! She still looks great despite putting the weight on Envy

Very tempted by her Jerk Chicken as well, looked very yummy, but DH & DD wouldn't eat it! Xmas Hmm

GettinFestive · 11/12/2010 10:49

Ronni Ancona used to do her really well not seen the impression show yet.

I thought she has gone very OTT with the wibbling inner thighs and slut's spaghetti

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 11/12/2010 10:51

Ssssssshhhhhhhh everyone.
Am a bit hungover.......

GettinFestive · 11/12/2010 10:51

Harry Hill sends her up very well

Every Nigella recipe I have ever tried has turned out well

GettinFestive · 11/12/2010 10:52

I won't suggest hair of the dog!

bebeinamanger · 11/12/2010 11:53

Oh dear Mulled, can't really suggest a fry up either!

I got Nigella's new book for my birthday, it's really good! Her recipes always work for me too, but for certain things Saint Delia wins hands down! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/12/2010 16:32

You on the mulled wine then mulled? Pmsl

I'm out tonight on the piss wine :)

Will see how my head is tomorrow lol

Trimmer how did you weight today?

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 11/12/2010 18:17

Feeling much improved. tWas a wine and vodka head and it was a bit cor blimey. Then we had to watch DD row and i was so cold and feeling sorry for myself I was all juddery. Lol in an ironic way.

Now I'm in my pyjamas watching strictly and all ready for bed! ( As we say in our family) early doors for me tonight.

GettinFestive · 11/12/2010 19:18

I sts blondes.

I did enjoy strictly - I would like Pamela to win, but would be happy if Kara wins. I thought you may have mixed them!

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 11/12/2010 20:04

We voted for Pamela and Matt Baker!

bebeinamanger · 12/12/2010 09:42

I love Strictly, me & my mum txt each other comments throughout!! My mum voted about 20 times for Matt last night because she loves him!! :o I would like Kara to win, she is so fabulous & I think Craig is a nit picky twat! Think Pamela is fantastic too, but not as consitant as Kara.

Mulled - tut tut, never drink wine & vodka in the same 'session'...Ouch! Wink

Was naughty & didn't have soup last night, had a chicken kebab!! Blush But I didn't have any mayo & had lots of salad so can't be that bad right? Was really yummy, not had one in about a year!!

I fear for this week. Asda order coming today, it has all the Christmas 'treat' food in this delivery! Oh dear! Xmas Confused

GettinFestive · 12/12/2010 10:00

Just something I was thinking about - Michelle who left a while ago - I thought she danced better when Brendan wasn't partnering her (one week she had someone else), don't think he did her any favours.

One of my favourite dances was Gavin's about 3 weeks ago when he kissed Bruno. Also loved Scott's jive.

If I am like Pamela at 61 I'll look forward to it....hope she wins, but agree bebe, Kara is amazing.

bebe we can just aim to sts and I for one must lose another stone after xmas, a bit annoyed with myself as I got down to 11 stone 3 at one point then it went back on again. It's hard work to change old habits, but I am pleased anyway that I've not gone over 12 stone.

didn't get around to getting the tree yesterday, the dc got involved with drawing pictures, etc, so just off to the garden centre. I just have to avoid the cappuccinos and mince pies...

bebeinamanger · 12/12/2010 10:36

Agree that Michelle was better when she danced with Ian. He is so lovely! My 2 favourite dances have been Kara's Argentine Tango & Matt's Charleston. But also loved Scott's jive, although he hasn't been as good since &, IMO, been overmarked a fair bit recently, especially on the dance he completely cocked up! Pamela is amazing for 61! I do wonder if we should have had a completely different semi-final line up if Ann had gone weeks ago...but don't get me started on that or we'll be here til next Christmas while I rant! :o

Have fun selecting your tree! We have a fake one :( Cats & DD cannot be trusted with a real tree!

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 12/12/2010 10:48

Lol at "nit picky twat!"

Got my kitchen tree yesterday. It's sooooooo cute. I feel I should tuck it up at night it's so small. It's 3ft and is currently decorated with about 20 green and red striped candy canes and gold, silver and bronze chocolate baubles. Because of where it is it is on two sets of battery lights. Am going to try to get orange and cinnamon sticks today. Have told DS that nothing is to be eaten until Boxing day or I will turn around and find my diddy tree bare!!

I would like Pamela to win cos she is an older bird ( like me although I'm only 45) and not the slinkiest ( also like me )

But I love Matt and Kara. DD voted about 10 x for Matt. Don't tell DH. Hope tonight Gav goes for sure and Possibly Sssssssscccccccottttttt as Bruno calls him.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/12/2010 11:10

well done for sts trimmer

bebe chicken kebab is healthy as just chicken and pitta bread

bebeinamanger · 12/12/2010 11:55

I'm more worried about the marinade & cooking process of the kebab Confused but spose it's no worse than my chicken fajitas Hmm

Mulled - we need a picture of this diddy little tree! :)

Hasn't Pamela lost loads of weight?! She looks fantastic, I can only live in hope that I'm like her when I am 61! I too hope that Gavin & Scott go tonight!

prettybirdinapeartree · 12/12/2010 15:31

Went on Trip No.2 looking for our Christmas tree today. Had a nice day out and lunch in the pretty village of Drymen but no tree Xmas Sad We are very fussy Xmas Grin

Last year it took us 3 (or was it 4) trips ouut lookinh before we found one (which wasn't quite as big as we wanted). It did, however, mean that for once, dh didn't object to the extra cost of a non-needle drop tree Xmas Wink Getting a 10+ foot tree means that even a Norway sprice can be expensive Xmas Hmm

Was very restrained in the pub and had a baked potato with cheese (which I didn't finish) and only a half pint of Guiness, rather than the scampi and chips that I usually have when we go there.

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 12/12/2010 16:39

Christmas trees are expensive thats for sure! Especially 10+feet Xmas Shock

We will have a sort of 8+ feet one next weekend when the sitting room is decorated, but the diddy kitchen one I bought was 3 feet and cost £30

I have managed to put a photo of my Diddy Kitchen Tree with the edible decorations on my profile. I had to set up a profile and it is deliberately vague, cos I don't want to be rumbled as many of you know. Xmas Wink
