notyummy and lostgirl Thank you for your info. any more? Quite new to fitness :)

Sugarmuppet · 23/11/2010 21:08

Oh my good god. Last time I ever take advice from here - AM DYING!!!!!!!!

Stumbled accross this thread this morning and thought it would be a great way to loose some much needed baby weight. Bought the first workout on itunes.

Have just done it with OH. Presumably I must have done some good if I feel this bad?? OH is away for a shower. He has to be up for work in 5 hours and is concerned that he won't be able to move! Grin Can you tell we are not a very fit household?!

acebaby · 23/11/2010 21:17

Can I join?

Just done day 1! survived (sort of) but am just using 400g tins of tomatoes for now.

supermuppet - glad I'm not the only one huffing and puffing through Shred level 1 for teh first time tonight (following Anita all the way)

Sugarmuppet · 23/11/2010 21:49

Tomato soup here! Will need to invest in some weights to collect dust make it a bit harder! :)

It must get easier?? Someone tell me it gets easier!

acebaby · 23/11/2010 22:08

oooh there's a good idea. I have some 200g tins of tomato soup in the cupboard Wink

My abs are already too sore to risk watching Miranda so goodness knows how I'll feel tomorrow...

Sugarmuppet · 23/11/2010 22:14

I'll tell you how I feel in the morning, if I can make it down to the PC. Grin

NO PAIN NO GAIN! Hmm

justaminute · 23/11/2010 22:24

Day 4 - done.

Thank you to the poster who gave the tip about turning to face different walls during the star jumps - it worked! The agony was over quicker than usual.

Does anyone else get annoyed when she says "just a couple more" then goes on to do at least 7 more reps? A couple (in my book) is TWO Jillian! TWO!

Sugarmuppet · 23/11/2010 22:29

justaminute my DH was shouting at Jillian about that! Can't even repeat what he was saying but a couple in her book and a couple in his book ain't the same thing!

MickyLee · 24/11/2010 08:10

Just getting mentally prepared to start Day 6 level 1. Need to start so I will be finished for the day Grin

sugar how is yout OH today? haha. I need to get my DH to have a go.. at least then he will understand my pain! Although he hasn't said so, I bet he thinks I am such a wimp, going on all evening about how sore I am from a 'girley' 20 minute dvd.

redderthanred · 24/11/2010 08:14

my legs dont want to move this morning.
This is painful.

Its such a huge shock to my body i think. I did exercise before, but it was swimming or walking for about an hour a time, 5x a week.

This... is... killing.... me.

also stone and half overweight.

I will shred today though, and have decided to stick with the beans for weights at the momment as i really dont think i could cope with arm pain equal to my current leg pain. I wouldnt be able to get through the day/drive/work/walk dog etc...

Maybe the higher weights will be for the 2nd cycle?

Joby1970 · 24/11/2010 08:29

I like the bit on the abs when she says the pain in yur abs is "fear leaving the body" WTF is that about!! lol

notyummy · 24/11/2010 08:32

Joby - When I was in the military we used to have a hard core Physical Training Instructor who used to scream 'SWEAT IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY. SWEAT IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE!!! at the top of his voice whilst we did circuits (which were Shred, only faster....and lasted 40 minutes. Fun, fun, fun.

Sugarmuppet · 24/11/2010 08:38

I feel surprisingly okay this morning....is the pain yet to start?

No idea how DH is the morning, he gets up at 2am for work, I didn't even hear his alarm farless get up like I usually do and make him a coffee. Oooops. I did have a great sleep though!

MickyLee · 24/11/2010 08:43

Ok.. Wish me luck, I am going in!

virgo1979 · 24/11/2010 08:44

Hi I would like to jump on the bandwagon and become a normal size again. can you tell me which DVD you are using please? I goggled and there are a couple of them around. Thanks

mummynoseynora · 24/11/2010 08:45

oooh can I join please???

My fabulous DH bought the DVD for me after seeing me reading about it... for the first time hints worked Grin

I did it last night for the first time, using some tins from the cupboard for weights......... owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

My legs were like jelly for about an hour after but it was GOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Currently I am looking forward to tonight... not sure how I will feel about it closer to the time!

redderthanred · 24/11/2010 09:57

Just did day 3. Wonderfriend facebooked me ask what time i was doing it today ( she is doing it too) and to tell me i can do it.

I needed that. It hurt to walk when i work up.

But, i did it. No 5 second breaks and 3lb weights in each hand for the first time.

It seemed a tiny tiny bit easier. I wasnt dying by the end.

GO ME!!!!

have set the alarm for 6am tomorrow.

I actually think i can do this now.

mummynoseynora · 24/11/2010 10:11

well done red - fab news that your body gets used to it quick!

redderthanred · 24/11/2010 10:23

Yeah. Im really pleased. I actually ( and ill whisper this quietly) enjoyed it a little bit.
Also i didnt feel as knackred afterwards and just finished and got straight in the shower. First two days i had to sit down for 30 mins drinking water.

So, ive got 7 days left on level one, and today i think that maybe in 7 days i will be ready to do level 2.

Yesterday i didnt think that would ever happen.

Also i watched americans biggest loser thing yesteday for the first time. Man, some of those people lost like 200lbs and ran marathons.
That is amazing. If they can do it ( and god, jillian was super scary in theat) then i can drop 20lbs right?

MickyLee · 24/11/2010 10:39

You know that phrase 'A change is as good as a rest'?

Well let me tell you, it isn't in Jillians book!

I (feeling very super fit from 5 days of Level 1) decided to try level 2.

When you think it can't get harder, it does..

Back to Level 1 for a bit me thinks

A warm (sweaty) welcome to any newbies :)

virgo It is the orginal 30 day shred (not the one sold with weights, thats a different workout)

redderthanred · 24/11/2010 11:13

oooh very brave to go to level 2 after 5 days.

Ive decided i quite like Killian.

acebaby · 24/11/2010 11:47

Grin at "Killian". She certainly killed my right buttock today (the rest of me is okay bizarrely!)

NicknameInUse · 24/11/2010 12:44

Day 2 done! Grin

I can't believe I'm actually enjoying exercise! I think it's because the improvement you make is tangible (via the thighs) so early on. Found myself following the harder moves for most of it today!

I hate love Killian! Grin

redderthanred · 24/11/2010 13:13

ha - that was a typo, though rather apt!!!

Well sone Nicknameinuse :)

CrapSuzette · 24/11/2010 13:15

Have just done day 1 of level 2. Did 8 days of level 1, and moved up because I felt it was time.
My first session of level 2 nearly killed me.
Was literally shaking by the end. Please tell me it gets easier!
