Level 3 day 1 done. Can't say I'm convinced yet ... Didn't sweat nearly as much as I did doing level 2. Interesting how the strength and cardio exercises are pretty much mixed now - not clearly one or the other. Managed to do most of the "proper" moves. Impressed I managed all the travelling press ups, although had to have a couple of seconds rest when doing the full plank lift moves. Also those sumo squat jumps - you can feel the lactic acid build up. Find the abs moves quite easy though - not entirely sure I was doing the last ones correctly. My feet kept on slipping.

OOO just noticed my elbows - it really does look like kinky carpet burns!!!

ok - actually 5 mins later and I am feeling a bit shakey, so maybe it was harder than I thought. Or maybe I am just completely dehydrated as drank about 5 cups of tea this arvo.

Day 14, level 2 complete Smile. Can't say I was in the mood today, but I did it. It went better than yesterday. I managed a few more plank moves.

The plank jacks are not designed for ladies who have had 3 natural births Shock. Widen legs = air in, close legs = air sucked up. Repeat for 30 secons, then stand up, jump up and down and endure repeated uncomfy fanny farts Blush Blush Blush.

Level 3 Day 27 Done

Forgive me Killian for I have sinned. I phoned it in 3 minutes at the end and missed the cardio and abs. I just could not do them. I don't know what happened. I gave up. It is the last time I promise.

Vjay I did weigh and measure myself 27 days ago. But like I mentioned earlier, I have not exactly been dieting as such. I just received a diet plate I ordered online, as I think I let myself down portion wise. So the plate and portion control will take me to the next level I hope.

Toobusy, it is a strange level at first, but do perservere with it. With the travelling pushups I realised today my lower body goes down futher then my arms and top half. I need to work on those I think. It is no wonder I thought they were easy. Don't you think the jumping jacks are good with the weights though?

I really need your help everyone, please motivate me! After hardly doing anything over Christmas/new year I'm just not feeling it. Have forced myself to do it a few times but have also just said 'I can't be arsed' and just haven't done it Blush

Am going on holiday next year (my first since I was 10, 13 years ago!) so I have something great to aim for, I'm just finding it hard to turn it into 'let's do this!'-type enthusiasm.

Nickname, honestly, click on youtube and watch some of Killians interviews etc. I always do it when I can't be arsed and it really fires me up.

You have not been on holiday for 10 years! well get off your arse and feel every bit as gorgeous as you are. Can you imagine what you can acheive in that time!!! Only if you start now.

Day 2 done. I learnt two things today: -

  1. Don't answer the phone in the middle of a workout, it's my MiL.
  1. Don't do chest presses so close to DS as he will lean forward and grab my hair - also he's not just pulling, he's trying to eat it.

Aw thanks Micky! I had a look around as you suggested and found a couple of gems, a video from a seminar that Killian did and a weight loss story/testimonial from a woman with a very similar back story to mine - have saved them both to my Favorites bar! Grin
I've also just ordered a 'portion plate' (a nice simple white one rather than the ones that look like kids plates with pictures all over them, ££ too) because I don't eat particularly unhealthily but definately need to reduce my portion sizes.

So, I have a new enthusiasm for it all and am raring to go! Am going to go back to Level 2 today as I think part of the problem was going back to level 1 so soon made me bored.

hello, can I join in? did some shredding back in nov/early Dec, lost a bit and felt much fitter, people asked me if I'd lost weight etc.

Let myself eat lots of sugar over xmas, and am now trying to rein myself in.... not having much luck there but exercise is a start.

on day 3 of the shred - surprisingly, the after effects of Day 1 were not nearly as bad as the first time, so I think that counts as me having a bit of residual fitness! Amazing! Grin

Sleeping badly at the mo but hope that the exercise will improve this. Am trying to do the shred first thing in the morning so I don't end up putting it off or trying to wriggle out of it. Good luck everyone!

Painfullyhonest, it's really helped with my sleep. I hadn't had a proper nights sleep in a few years through stress etc and since doing this it's not been an issue. I hadn't even realised until you mentioned it!

enimod, whenever you can fit it in to your llifestyle. I think most people agree it's best to do it in the morning to kick start your day etc but I know there's no way on Earth I could get up before ds to do it! Smile

Have done Level 2 today. This is it now, I'm going to do this, have nothing coming up that's going to interfere with my routine and have a new energy for it (thanks again Micky Smile).
God, those planks are hard! I paused the workout just before the cooldown and did 5mins of high resistance on my rowing machine, then went back to do the cool down. Boy did I 'feel the burn'! Shock

Yesterday was day 15, but I didn't manage to fit it in Blush. Today I got as far as the end of the first strength exercises before dd2 awoke from her nap . Off out now, so it will be another late night level 2 Killian session tonight for me Smile.

just done day 4 lev 1. Feeling a bit resentful that I had to do it while DD is at nursery for the first time - so will try to do first thing in the morning tmw. Too much going on this morning!

has anyone got a good playlist set up to replace Killian's chat? would like to do this but not sure how to figure out what "speed" of music I need. will anything with a good dance-y beat do?

DH is encouraging me - he's bought me some nice underwear but I was a bit Hmm about the sizing and he said, well, you're shredding so you will fit it eventually! nice that he believes in my ability to drag myself thru those circuits everyday! Grin

sleep still crap and had terrible sweats last night. I think this may be detoxing effect of exercise, I'm trying to drink lots of water too.

So, although I have only lost weight on my hips, tummy and waist, and one thigh! and put on half a kilo, I am quite happy with this. Because I look leaner and toned. I look healthier in my face and people tell me I look great and vibrant. I have not dieted and had to contend with the xmas holidays. But I did the 30 day shred every single day with no day off. I only relapsed a couple of days ago when I did not complete the last 3 minutes. So I am pretty proud of myself, because I have NEVER stuck to anything for 30 days.

I am going to take this up to the next level now, I have decided to do level 1 Monday to Friday, Level 2 the next week and Level 3 the next week after. On a Saturday I will do another dvd but one that takes an hour. But I will continue with the shred 5 days a week. I really like Jillian. I got bored of level 3, it seemed to take ages. But maybe after 20 days or so you do find the whole regime a bit tiresome and just keep looking to completing it.

I am not the biggest loser by far. But I am fitter, and I am happy with this result.

Continuing with the shred, along with dieting and portion control, I hope to start to lose the weight and get my weight down to my target of 65 kilos by May this year.

All of you have been such a great support to me, I would never have completed this without having this thread to write on. Thanks
