How much weight have you guys lost doing this and how long have you been doing it?

Joby1970 · 24/11/2010 13:30

It is the consensus on here that Level 2 is the hardest level.. lol - I still find it difficult 2nd time round

OP posts:
MickyLee · 24/11/2010 13:44

I have lost 1.5 inches from my waist after 6 days, without change to diet or doing any other excersise.

Emjxxx · 24/11/2010 13:53

Hey ladies,

well have just finished day 2 of level 1!!! Grin I'm not sure how i got through it, i was aching soooo much from yesterday.

Have pushed through though and now I'm shaking like a jelly, you could curdle cream on me at the moment!!

I'm glad i have done it and i'm going to keep going. Also glad i'm only using baked bean cans as weights, my arms couldn't manage any heavier.

I need a wee now, not sure I can get up the stairs!! Confused

Day 8 for me and decided to go for level 2!

Made it a bit trickier for myself by having my DS and dog running round my legs but I did only manage to elbow my DS in the face once Blush.

Level 2 is vicious. Too much plank position for me and no way can I do the thing where you lift your legs up straight in the air (isn't that really bad for your back?) so modified a bit.

Ha ha ha, not a glance at Natalie for me on level 2, following Anita all the way.

prettybird · 24/11/2010 16:03

Is that the Abs one in Circuit 2? I can only do it 'cos I've done 10+ years of Pilates and am very careful about making sure I'm using my abdominal muscles to do it and try (for that exercise) keep my pelvis slightly tilted upwards/backwards (ie more of my lower back in contact with the ground). (I would normall y have my pelvis in "neutral").

I also try to make sure to keep my lower ribs in contact with the floor.

The conrrect breathing really does help.

Day 5 (I think, maybe 6?)

It is just gone 8pm. I have been up since 5am. Have just got children to bed. Have not stopped for a moment all day. House a tip. Supermarket shop not yet put away. Lunch boxes to wash and lunches to make.

I have never wanted to do anything less than I want to shred right now.

Bought new 2kg weights today too.

Oof.

MickyLee · 24/11/2010 16:52

yuno I am using 2 kg too.. Didn't seem that heavy in the shop!!!!

selfishmum · 24/11/2010 17:15

just found this thread..I consider myself fairly fit and well used to exercise so I went straight in at Level 2 - omg, I am a sweaty heap! Was feeling quite disheartened at how hard I found that until I've just read all these messages and now I feel much better knowing everyone is finding it hard too!

Would be good to hear some more results girls...anyone noticing any difference yet? and if so, how many days have you done?

Oh that doesn't sound fun at all Riven. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I shredded and then did chores - took me an hour and 40 minutes from children asleep to sitting down with a cup of tea.

The workout with 2kg was definitely much harder. Good though.

I still don't think it's the best workout for abs. I used to do one by Gill(?) something, 'drop a dress size' it was called, and her stomach workout was immense.

I think shredding is also strengthening my pelvic floor, because day 1 star jumps were... ahem ... somewhat tentative... but now I throw myself into them with no fear of wee. Hooray for that.

As for results, well, I wish you hadn't asked. I am only 6 days in but definitely feeling fitter and can see a difference in the mirror and in my clothes, but I measured and appear to have put on an inch around my stomach Angry. I've been starving myself all week too.

chocoholic · 24/11/2010 18:02

Thanks Prettybird, yes, that is the one. I'm no where near strong enough for it so sticking to the reverse thingamys so I don't cripple myself

Yuno, must be muscle........or wind Grin

selfish mum, you must be mad!!! Level 2 to start?

I think someone must have stretched my tape measure Angry.

YunoYurbubson · 24/11/2010 18:08

No, wait, that would give me a smaller measurement.

Someone has SHRUNK my tape measure.

YunoYurbubson · 24/11/2010 18:09

And when I find out who it was...

Day 2 - done! Grin

So could feel my legs achy all day so figured I better do it as soon as I got home from work (Just before 3pm) rather than wait until tonight, glad I did! DS was down for a sleep, so had dd 'helping' .... also known as yelling out whatever killian said Grin at whoever invented that!

Some bits I found easier than yesterday, but some harder - obviously because my muscles are still killing!!! Confused best in pain emoticon I could find!

Only had about 30 mins of Jelly legs tonight, so an improvement already! AND - I am not sure if this can be true but my jeans were looser today... after 1 day?!?!?!?!?

YunoYurbubson · 24/11/2010 19:02

No waist at all?? Like, a gap between my ribs and my pelvis? Oooh, I could wear a bikini again!

MickyLee · 24/11/2010 19:07

riven you have had a hard week with your mum and now migraines :(

yuno Jillian claims you should eat no less than 1200 cals a day to lose. Or else your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose. And also (thankfully) you should have a cheat night once a week. You need to eat what ever you like to trick your body that it is not on a diet. One of the things that was always coming up on USA biggest loser!

Can you tell I am making myself feel less guilty for eating crispy beef stir-fry Grin

prettybird · 24/11/2010 19:15

Chocoholic: try bring your legs up into a bent leg position, with your calves parallel with the flour and your back comfortable (not tucked intothe floor - the natural curve of your spine means there should be small gap between your lower back and the floor). Without bulging up your stomach muscles, try slowly and carefully to tip your toes down to the floor, keeping your legs bent at the same angle. Go as far as you can without your back/"wrong" stomach muscles taking over. Carefully bring your legs back to the start position and repeat. Bringing your legs back is as much part of the strengthening exercise as the toe touches: concentrate on keeping the bottom of your tummy flat/pelvic floor lifted/your navel pulled in to your spine. Breath out as you send your legs away/down and breath in as your bring them back up.

Maybe initially try doing alternating legs - my Pilates teacher often does them that way as a preparatory exercise to the tougher one I've described above.

Day 2 - DONE! Grin

Ouch. Sad

mummynoseynora · 24/11/2010 20:38

well done muppet! We are on the same day Grin

Sugarmuppet · 24/11/2010 20:51

Well Nora shall see you here tomorrow night to compare pain and jean tightness? I could swear mine felt looser this morning too. Grin [wishful thinking probably]
